It's -5c here. Take it easy, Buff. I know what it's like to overdo it. Ask me how... Carol, I wouldn't be to worried about the test. It's up to you what you are willing to do. I throw half the lab orders in the trashcan at the doctors clinic before I leave. My doc never takes it personally.
 
Thick fog last night in London and freezing cold. Like a Charles Dickens film. Watched Oliver Twist in black and white and laughing at the derisory benefit I am supposed to live on. I may start busking and telling jokes as a new "senior" job. Bah Humbug.
 
Well, rons got unusual weather and so has Buff. Sounds like some good snow on that cabin roof, Buff. Don't hurt yourself falling. We don't want you suffering like Ron. Sincerely hope the pains and bruises are healing now, Ron. I expect you'll get the jabs before us too. Can't see things going smoothly for a time. They think things will be better by Autumn! I'm not staying sane here. I''m finding this more and more difficult. Can't believe the police arrested a woman sat on a park bench by herself having a takeaway tea. Another was arrested for going out twice in one day. Our cops are ridiculous.

Not so cold today however, it's still muddy and wet out. Lots of mist too. Boring winter weather, lol.
 
I had to pick up my meds and a few things at the grocery store and the store was packed full of people unwilling to self distance literally bumping into me. Its no wonder the numbers are going up. I rarely go shopping on a weekend to avoid the crowds, but it sometimes happens with renewing medications. Di I used what is called a snow rake, its essentially a rake on a very long pole, with extensions that reach several meters that allows me to safely remove snow from a roof by pulling the snow off of the roof. It works well, but its very hard on one's back and stomach. It took me a couple of days to rest up. -10 under overcast.
 
Overcast and miserable but 9c......temps will drop again tonight then rain and blustery winds for the rest of the week.
I got an apt. today to go for a blood test regarding rising liver levels T.he tablets I'm on can mess them up.I'm not too bothered.It's right what they say though,once the medical profession get a hold of you they're like a terrier with a rat,and just won't let go
 
My kidneys are affected by my chemo meds. They mentioned the issue again last month as things aren't going too well. They've already decreased my med dose, so i'm not too clever body wise either. They keep telling me to take more fluids. Well, with the big D it's hard to retain fluids. I feel for all of you with other issues than crohns.

Wet out, drizzle and white skies. The days are already noticeably longer now. The street lights are on at 4.30. Just awaiting summer and warmer weather now lol. The snowdrops are slower to pop up this year. Only a few so far.

Hard frost early on but the sun soon thawed it It's 3c but there's definitely some heat in the low sunshine.
Hang in there Di.,you've come this far and if you break the coming Spring down into weeks it's not half as bad.
'script the IBS nurse issued for me in mid December has gone walk-a-bout.I rang docs,chemist and hospital and should
have them by Friday !!! Someone phoned me last Tues. to see if I would accept an alternative brand but nobody knows who that was. It seems churlish to complain given the Covid situation,so I didn't.....typical Brit.
 
Raining and gloomy out. However, for the first time this year a flock of long tailed tits came to my feeders. I watched them for ages. So lovely.
I haven't seen any of my neighbours since before Xmas. Well, not to talk to. The weather is just too bad for going out or nipping along. Mind, we're all staying safe and awaiting further bloody restrictions.

-10 under sunshine. Yesterday became overwhelming with too much talking when I first had to deal with the tech repairing the internet service to the house at too early an hour. Then it was the computer tech talking me through to get the computer cleared of duplicate files that had filled up the drive in the afternoon. It became long, but in the end all was well.
 
Hello, it's 6°c in London and raining today. My leg is aching from yesterday's walk down Crystal Palace Hill after my emergency appointment for toothache which felt like being jabbed in the jaw with a sharp knitting needle. I need a root canal and my dentist talks despondently about waiting lists and no end in sight. If you can rustle up £800.00 he tells me, you can go private. Not very likely. He fills my mouth with pink gunk for a mouth guard mold to stop me grinding my teeth. It's stress related, what a surprise.
I realise my pain is not being managed. I stock up on painkillers at the Co-op.
Joggers with no masks jog past me, pounding the pavement. Tomorrow is another day.
 
Hello, it's 4°c and showery. The sky is the colour of a plain white sheet of paper due to cloud cover. It's Thursday and the leaf blowers are here again in the close opposite.
Petrol fumes, dust and an hour of pointless activity. The litter is dumped on the street and verges but leaves are given priority. 🤬
The "Big Cry" is on the horizon or just around the corner. It forms a tight knot in my stomach. Not a tear so far. 🥺
 
storms heading our way for the weekend, they are saying that they may be severe. When we were kids we used to go out on the verandah of our highset old Queenslander house and watch the electrical show as the storms rolled in. Now it is safer to hide under the bed. We get so many supercells with hail the size of oranges, if you know a storm is coming, put your car under cover and hope the house doesn't get too much damage. Ron.
 
We have an incredible variations in weather in one day in a country the size of Australia. Just today we have catastrophic fire danger in West Aust with fires still a problem north of Perth. We have had bushfires in SA this week. Today there is snow falling in parts of Tasmania. Rain in most of Victoria. High winds in NSW with storms in the north east. Heavy rain in Qld in the north and scattered storm cells in the central and south of the state and extreme temps in the northern territory. Our spate of shark attacks continues with a man in a serious but stable condition after being attacked by a Bull shark in the Swan river in WA. Ron.
 
Cold and wet out but no rain at the moment. Half way through January already. Great news. Today all my family are gathering in Cornwall for my nephews funeral. Can't believe what an Xmas and new year we're having. Just wish we could be out of lockdown now. His friends will be lining the streets while socially distancing as they can't all be at the funeral. Actually i'm pleased i'm not there today. Don't think i could handle it the way things are at the moment. At least this time of year and the cold keep people indoors more. Maybe we can get to grips with this covid sooner rather than later now.
 
We got our wild storms overnight. No hail but cloudburst rain. When i got up this morning I walked over to the wall to switch the fan off and nearly slipped on the wet floor where water had leaked thru the wall. Heavy rain still in the north and a low off the cape may turn into a cyclone. Very hot windy weather in West Australia with out of control bushfires and some properties lost. Had my yearly diabetic eye check last week . If you have any type of diabetes in Australia you need a doctors certificate to say if you are fit to drive. My eyesight is still extremely good and I don't need glasses to drive. Ron.

Update, Parts of the Sunshine coast got hammered by the storm last night with a lot of destruction in caloundra with several houses hit by falling trees. The cyclone up north is intensifying and is expected to cross the coast between Cairns and Cooktown some time early tomorrow . Another bigger cyclone has formed off the west Australian coast . I am not sure of its location yet but that is their first one of the season and Kimi up north is our second in two weeks. Ron.
 
I'd be a bag of nerves if I lived in Aus.Ron……..never knowing what the weather or the wildlife (or my D-in Law) was going to do next.I don't drink now,but I would be tempted.
5c and an OK day. Had a cycle out as wind and rain forecast for the next couple of days.The roads and sidewalks were very busy again.Can't think where they were all going in this lockdown

The fibro scan showed liver damage sending me for an ultrasound next month,I also have CKD they tell me its due to having Hypertention.
I do think long term meds for any illness starts other things, the liver due to Methetrexate.
I can't tolerate statins anymore Hey Ho.
The weather here was mad very windy with heavy rain my wall in the back yard is crumbling.
The world is getting battered with weather & Covid.

Typical of cyclones ,you never know what they will do. The one in WA was downgraded as soon as it formed but has now moved into the Timor sea off Broome where it is expected to re-intensify. Cyclone Kimi off the Qld coast had a little rest overnight and stopped moving. It is now on the move again and is expected to cross the coast later tonight. It has already dropped 180 mm of rain on costal towns. We have a large band of heavy rain sitting just off the Sunshine coast and Brisbane. It was expected to come ashore but at the moment the coastal islands of north and south Stradbroke and Moreton are getting most of the rain. It is not as hot as it has been but the humidity is the killer.
Take care Val, liver will regenerate but kidneys won't. It is a tough call between the risks of disease versus medicines. I have an increasing list of drugs I can no longer take due to adverse side effects. They include nsaids, all forms of opiates, arava ,methotrexate and apixaban. Ron.

Hello, started weeding and digging a metre wide bed in my handkerchief sized garden.
The neighbourhood moggies see any patch of soft earth as a litter tray unfortunately.
The crisp, cold air and open skies made me feel very lucky. I see people walking around without masks and wonder if I'll be infected next. No curfews in the UK but it's 6 PM in France. I can't see Brits complying. They are out and about at all hours. Looking for fairies and goblins probably.
 
Try curry powder mixed with black pepper or chilli powder.Cheap is better as you have to re-sprinkle after rain.It works a treat to deter cats.I do like cats,but they never toilet on their own patch.Moth balls are ok but difficult to get now.I don't think people keep clothes as long as they used to.

Nice to have good neighbours, Buff. Seen wonderful vidoes of my nephews funeral and tributes. Everyone did a good job considering how many couldn't go to the funeral itself. They lined the streets keeping their distance as they drove slowly past. I didn't get there as of complete lockdown. So pleased it was a good send off.

Damp out, no sun and rather chilly. I've stayed in as per instructions, Not so bad as i am feeling like a little flare up is about to happen,

My cat does poo in her litter tray, my bathroom and occasionally she uses the garden. Mind, she never ventures out of the garden these days.

We had another band of wild storms thru the SE last night. South Brisbane and the Gold coast got around 200mm in just over an hour resulting in several swift water rescues from people trapped in drowned cars. If it's flooded , forget it, seems to be the first thing forgotten when flash floods hit. Cyclone Kimi is now a low still dumping heaps of rain on the already drenched north. Most of the WA fires are under control and the WA low is still hovering off the Kimberly coast and still expected to become a cyclone. Forecasters are expecting another cyclone to spin up in the monsoon trough over north Qld in the next week. I'm still managing to keep most of the water out but I am getting a feeling of impending doom. Ron.
 
Went to northampton hospital today. Plenty of drivers out but quieter in town and unbelievably this self book appointment system leaves very little waiting time fortunately. They were saying they are discussing taking over a paediatric ward for covids too. Doesn't sound good does it? Oh well, bug down and hibernate. I'll come out in March. Milder, wet and i got home before this fella Christoph challenged me. Any Brits noticed hardly any snowdrops yet? Normally the lanes are blooming with them. Very late or a poor year for snowdrops i think.
 
We have been getting prolonged heavy showers over night and this morning. still very heavy rain on the north tropical coast thanks to the remnants of cyclone Kimi. The low off northern WA has intensified offshore and is expected to be named as a cyclone today. It is expected to increase to cat 3 before crossing the coast at Port headland on the weekend and bringing floods to the north east and north west of the state. They continue to predict a new cyclone for north Qld in the next week. Ron.
 
I woke to -10c. The day was mostly cloudy and we rose to a high of -6c. The temperature is now dropping and it looks to be clearing as I can see stars in the sky. It's expected to drop by a few more degrees tonight. I wonder what the United States presidential inauguration will be like tomorrow. I sincerely hope there are no terrorists amongst the groups.

Me too mate ,I hope it goes off without any strife. They just passed 400,000 dead from covid and very few except those who have lost friends and rellies seem to be asking why. Time to put away the firearms and try to destroy a much smaller enemy. Ron.
 
I'm watching the preparations for this presidential change over on the lunchtime news. Hope all goes well. Worst change over in history. I too hope it goes well and without trouble.

Very wet and windy here. None of the weather you're having Ron. It's not as bad (yet) as they have forewarned. Mind, we are on the southern tip of the worst of this so hopefully we won't have too much to complain of. Two thirds through January already. For those that know me well, i struggle to get January over and done. For me it's the gloomiest month and i always look forward to February. The days are a tad lighter already and i notice the difference.

Our covid death rate is bizarre and way out of control. I'm staying safe as the hospitals can't cope and i prob wouldn't be given a chance for treatment of any sort. Stay safe all.
 
Its been more seasonal of late, colder, and some snow. The American inauguration is on, but I don't see anything good coming from the change of leadership. I just hope they can maintain the peace and not stoke the anger further, but its starting out on the wrong foot when pipelines are being shut down without any discussion from their neighbor.
 
We may get a little sunshine tomorrow with temps around 30c,,,that means very high humidity. Yuk. I saw my nephrologist on Wednesday he was happy with all of my pathology. My kidneys have not deteriorated and my liver is ok ,if not great. I just have to stay on the same meds with no changes . He was not happy when i told him about my fall. He said it is just lucky you are such an experienced survivor. As good an epitaph as any I suppose. Ron.
 
Good news Di,. and Ron.....I've just been for a blood test regarding liver.Gastro not sure if it's the tablets causing it or the last flare in Dec.which was massive.If I get the all clear,then it was the flare..
6c and bright and breezy.Some snow during the night but it soon melted.

The crazy weather continues had snowfall last night today windy with sleet.
People have been evacuated in certain areas due to floods I wonder what that will do to covid infections?
Ron glad your blood tests came back with no deterioration of kidneys or liver, we both seem to have the same problems.
I am also glad they dont keep messing with your meds because like me you seem to have allergies to meds.
I dread it when my doctor mentions new meds.

Lovely and sunny again. Not so cold either. So pleased the blood works are fine with all. 40C sounds about right for Australia. Shame the humidity is coming about now Ron. After all that rain you prob want some good old fashioned baking blast of the suns rays. But not really of course. Mind, i think your summer is just getting started now. We'll have to wait and see how it pans out. But nice aus had some rain. Hope the snowmobile is better for its rebuild Buff.

Looks like we're in until the summer here. Nothing is good covid wise. Our govt has really cocked up big time on their handling of this. The two week double jab is now a 3 month rejab, mind, people are getting covid after having their first. The pharma's recommended two weeks apart for the double dose our govt think they know best.
 
-23C under brilliant cobalt blue skies. Seasonal weather for a change, the kind I like for cross country skiing. The snowmobile runs fine, and will take a long ride likely on the weekend. I will self isolate on the ski trail, the vaccines are being held up due to production issues by Phizer and our officials have handled the whole covid issue poorly. The best one can do is avoid going anywhere near the urban centers for now.
 
Oh, i'd love to be that close to nature, Buff. Would you swap your moose with my badgers? The weather sounds ideal out there too. Enjoy some winter sport there Buff.

snow on the ground this morning, melted but we've had a few snow showers since. I have a daff up with its head upright already. I spotted it whilst doing some late pruning. I also have good clumps of daff leaves so far. My flock of long tailed tits were about my feeders this morning again. I hope they stay. They look like teaspoons. Very small body and very long tails. So cute. Almost as cute as the resident wren.

Very hot across Australia with lots of rain in central WA. The monsoon trough is still active across the north with lots of storms and rain. We are having problems with wildlife with another fatal shark attack on a diver in WA and an attack on a swimmer on the central NSW coast yesterday afternoon. He was swimming with his wife. He is in hospital in a serious but stable condition. Ron.
 
I've awoken to lots of snow. Quite picturesque with the 3-4 inches and more to follow. The birds are getting extra treats today as they can't get worms at all. Aside from that my heating bill is becoming quite ridiculous. Roll on summer. I'm ready (but not quite bikini ready). I don't mind lockdown on days like this.
 
It's snowing in London, proper flakes, not sleet and it's thick enough to make snowmen. This doesn't happen every year so there's excitement in the air. I thought I'd try making a snow angel but remembered that at 57 and with a bad back, I might get stuck and get hypothermia. Oh, it's marvellous getting old. 🥶
 
Today, the sky is blue and it's freezing. The snow is still thick on the ground. I have a bag of frozen chips in my freezer drawer which is stuck fast. Defrosting it and looking forward to egg, chips and beans. Grateful I'm not rummaging through bins like the poor people down the street. Classical music is great for the brain and the mood.

It does not run much during the cold weather as the wood furnace runs steady. Going to shovel the parking area later. The cat has the right idea, as she is snoring away without a worry in the world.
 
That sounds cold, Buff. My cat is sensible too. she stays in curled up only getting up for food and the litter tray. I've not done much either. Got a Crohns flare up and have absolutely no energy. God, my whole body aches, feels ill and i am on and off the loo all day and half the night too. Exhausting. We still have the snow from yesterday here too. Tomorrow brings rain (i hope) and i need to drive out and get my chemo meds, so not looking forwards to going out tomorrow.

Hello, -24°C never happens in Britain. The country comes to a standstill at -°10C .
People complain that minor roads are not cleared of snow and many people in the suburbs don't have snow boots or a snow shovel. The men don't have practical skills or calluses on their hands. My newish next door neighbour doesn't even weed his garden and wears bright pink shirts. Need I say more.
My 18 year old cat snores away or sits in front of my fake flame electric fire. The two year old tabby needs spaying and miaows constantly but it has to wait until she is out of season.
 
-22C overcast. One has to be self reliant to live out here in the rural parts. Its remote, my nearest neighbor is half a kilometer away, the roads are narrow, with steep hills and sharp curves covered with enough snow that the snowmobiles can be used. Most of us burn wood, because fuel oil is heavily taxed, and there is no way that I could do so on my small pension which would have grown much larger if it were not for Chrons that constantly interrupted my ability to work. But that did not stop me from living rural and the physical challenge that comes with it. I hope I will not ever have to move into an urban environment, it would be a very difficult adjustment from the peace and quiet.
 
I think most people benefit from the peace and quiet Buff. You sound like you have my ideal life. However, being honest, i'm not sure i would deal with the cold like you do. it's the Raynauds and the fact that i'm an absolute skinny.

The rain has arrived and all signs of snow gone. I can see my snowdrops once again and i've noticed my first upright daff head is ready to bloom soon. Amazing. mind, i cheated and bought some daffs from Aldi yesterday. Can't believe we've almost got January over with too. Feeling brighter already. Nowhere near as cold as it has been and actually quite pleasant out. Didn't have to break ice on my pond either. One happy little soul has been singing his heart to another in the tree behind me. I wonder if the birdsong will be starting fully soon. I so love it when nature wakes up.
 
Yesterday I removed the snow off of the oldest shed with the snow rake to avoid the roof from collapsing under the snow load, but today I will go for a ski. -22C under overcast. Di its not hard to live in this climate if one has a good heating system. Wood is by far the best to provide the kind of warmth that pushes all the cold out of the house, and it is affodable. I am sitting here in my nighty, in barefeet. I keep the house warm, no need to bundle up except to go outside. With the dry cold its not as bad as one might think.
 
Nice and toasty in my flat in spite of the zero temperatures at the start of the week. I look like an overgrown toddler in fleecy cat motif pyjamas ( Christmas gift, the older I get, the most silly the presents become ). My head gets cold so I wear a beanie hat indoors.
I watched a programme linking Covid with an interactive thyroid and weight gain.
So, it wasn't mince pies and Quality Street after all. I have doubled in size. I think my property is haunted. A big file moved all by itself the other day. A curious ghost.
 
Not so cold again. More light rain and no snow anywhere around here. Almost back to a normal winter day. Buff, our cold over here is certainly different from the dry cold of the interiors of continents whereby it is a lovely dry cold with no real moisture in the air to drag it into the body and freeze the whole body to bits. I don't like our cold, wet winters. Enjoy that ski.
 
Humid and wet pretty well every where. None of the latest lot of monsoon lows have developed into cyclones yet but they sure have dumped plenty of rain across the north of Australia. The poor old bloke that got bitted by the shark in NSW last week unfortunately had to have his arm amputated due to the severe damage. The crocs joined the action yesterday when a guy swimming in a freshwater lake at Cairns was bitted on the head by a saltwater croc. The guy was a fitness fanatic and pried the crocs jaws off his head and swam ashore and called the ambulance. He has a few puncture wounds on his head but all missed vital arteries and he was treated and allowed to go home. Lucky man. Ron.
 
If I am not outside I am in my nighty for the most part, mainly because it interferes less with my colostomy bag than when I am in regular clothes, and its far more comfortable. Yesterday I had a long ski soaked in warm sunshine with no wind. With the sun reflecting off of the snow I was warm all over despite the temperature at -20C. The moose cleared the trail by eating the encroaching bushes through the narrows. This morning it was -27C which is respectable cold, my oil furnace has not run since the start of the cold snap, with the wood fire running steady.
 
Hello, it's 11°C and raining steadily in London. People in lockdown are being encouraged to feed and count the varieties of birds in their gardens as a yearly event run by the RSPB. (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds).You can watch garden birds like robins, sparrows and blue tits live on their website. No moose but foxes which are either fed or feared by Londoners. Some people are lucky enough to see hedgehogs which they feed with cat food. Bats in the summer. Yellow cockatiels in the parks which multiplied after being freed from captivity. Grey squirrels. I have a city farm near me with lamas, pigs, sheep, a horse etc.
Living in "lounge wear" or night clothes I am familiar with. Happy skying. 🌧🐿🦔🐺🐸
 
Ron, that bloke that removed the croc off his head is amazing. I would have been dead, no doubt. I'd like to feel sorry for you with all that wet weather, but maybe it's better than blazing heat. I can understand the humidity though.

That's realy cold weather Buff, especially for the nightie lol. No thermals required over there. I tend to wear them most the summer months too. Warm in the winter sun sounds good though. Virtually at the end of January and you must be somewhat delighted that you're still burning wood. Oil costs mega amounts here. It's not really viable unless you're wealthy.

I'm not so weird with my clothes, Carol. Really funny comment, especially about Ron lol. I did wear a beanie when bald. I hated it.

Snow sleet and rain here today. Some has settled again. Let's hope there's more rain to do away with the snow and ice.
 
It's another nice day here.5c and sunny and not enough cloud for rain.
We went for a circular walk through the park then down to the river and back.We couldn't have a conversation because of the noise from the traffic on the main roads to the coast.Heaven knows how bad it will be come Easter. Your neck of the woods would suit us Buff,hard as it is at times.
 
-12C milder and gray. Went for a good ski yesterday and the pandemic with all its disruption has not had much of an affect upon daily living out here, unlike in the urban areas where nobody is happy. Di I see firewood cutting as my part time job that supplements my income, oil is crazy expensive due to the government taxing our heat.... and our feet. Wood also provides much greater comfort, but like anything I have to start all over again when the work starts in spring.
 
3c and fine.Had a bike ride inland,away from the coast which was ok.
Plenty emergency service sirens down that way so heaven knows what's gone on
Ron. Perth is in total lockdown after the first case in 10mnths......that's the way it should be done !!!

Very wet and windy across West Australia. Plenty of rain on the eastern seaboard from Cape York to Tasmania. The cyclone which was supposed to form in the gulf last week , but didn't, moved across the cape and into the Coral sea where it has turned into a cyclone near New Caladonia.
Yes Carol that is the way of Australia with covid. You get a case of covid outside quarantine and they implement a short lockdown with heaps of testing and tracing. Once everyone is traced and tested they do a14 day hotel quarantine. What bugs me is that most of our positive cases come from returned Australians from overseas. They were warned at the start of covid that they had three months to get back home now they are whining about being abandoned by the Australian government. They need to be responsible for their own actions. Ron.
 
6c today with lots of sun and blue sky.Our gov.has only just decided to
quarantine incomers from other countries.They've dithered and faffed about for a year,the flaming nincompoops,but still people are having secret parties,baby showers,raves etc. and getting away with a fine.I would put a fire hose on them with hi vis dye instead of water in it....Les getting his jab on Wednesday.
 
I can identify with that covid procedure Ron. If only the UK had done the same. Our situation is just going down in numbers but no end in sight for lockdown to be lifted. So much for lockdown up your end Carol. I think it's because it's coastal. Daventry is much quieter fortunately.

Wet and cold out. Lots of daffs coming up and the other birds are starting to chirp which is nice. Even my old cat has sat outside for a bit today. Amazing.
 
Much the same here, the partial lockdowns are doing squat. Recently travel to vacation spots such as the Carribean and Mexico have been banned, but travel to the rest of the world is still open. People continue to flaunt the rules and are increasingly becoming unruly, holding private parties and ignore the distancing rules. The virus will not go away with the present system in place. Gray and mild, -6C.
 
Rain for most of the country except for the Perth area of WA . They are suffering out of control bushfires to the north east area of Perth. Several homes were lost overnight and one fire appliance destroyed and two firefighters injured . There are still two cyclones active in the coral sea. Another is expected to form off the central WA coast today. Ron.

I woke to snow again this morning it has been very cold the last few days.
I recieved my letter from the Liver Specialist Nurse it seems i have F4 Fibrosis have to have an ultrasound on the 14th Feb.
I am a little shocked but will wait till after the scan to see what happens next.
These new varients that are here are worrying I hope the vaccine works on them.

We had some sort of weird weather event on the coastal strip yesterday resulting in 60mm of rain falling in an hour resulting in flash flooding. 15 km inland we received nothing. Over on the west coast the Perth area would have given anything for that sort of rain. The fire situation in the Perth hills got way out of control with high winds causing spot fires up to 3 km in front of the main fire front. Firefighters were unable to stop new fires starting due to the speed of the fire. No lives were lost but 71 homes were destroyed. Winds in the fire area today are expected to reach 70 kph. Residents in the fire area have been advised to evacuate immediately and not to attempt to stay and try to save property. Ron.
 
Scott is having heavy rain in Kalgoorlie ,more than they've had for a long time.They were going camping for a week but have decided to stay put.
It has rained non stop for 48hrs here and is 3c but there are no chance of floods here due to elevation above the river and coastal cliffs.Lots of snow elsewhere and rain so places that are already flooded are suffering.
 
Feeling soar after a 60 km long snowmobile ride with the bunch yesterday. I went to places I have not seen in years. Some has maintained its beauty, but for for many areas, the indigenous forests have fallen by the saws and herbicides, then later replaced with controlled tree plantations. Its going to be mild for the next couple of days before we once again go into the deep freeze. -8C partly cloudy.
 
Damp but at least the rain has stopped for now.

but I bet you feel good mentally after a run out.
Di., any luck with your jab research ? Les had his but the 2nd one not until April....Ron,have you had the boat out lately ? Chris,where are you ?
 
More showers this week and lots of rain across Australia. Unfortunately it has not fallen around Perth. They were better able to check the fire ground today and houses lost has been upgraded from 71 to 81. Very sad. My back and hip are still causing me a lot of pain so the boat has stayed in the carport. Again very sad,Ron.
 
Your retirement Ron, sounds as bad as my health for the past couple of years. It's amazing how much damage a fall can do. Sad you can't get out in the boat yet, but maybe there is still time for you to heal and enjoy a float (or afloat) in your boat. Buff, that's quite a long ride. Didn't know they could go that far. Not many fuel stations on route though, methinks. I'd hate to run out of fuel in such cold climes. I'd never make it home lol.

Wet and cold again. Much colder today! Hope we don't get that snowfall this weekend although there is a chance it will come this far south. Not looking forwards to that. I'm having a bit of a crohns flare so feel so unsure about the jab. I'm really struggling with how it will affect me as the flu i gave up having after always getting flu like symptoms after the jab. And queuing up with perhaps those who may not have symptoms. But if i don't have it i don't know when i would be offered it again. we can also get it again too. I'm so undecided. Hope Les is doing well. Did he have any symptoms?
