I am not sure how USA's insurance system is running.

Assuming I have a H1B/E3 working visa to USA and purchase a private health insurance immediately, will all my Crohn's Disease relevant treatments be covered since then?

1. Does American insurance companies have waiting period for existing illnesses?
2. Will Crohn's Disease treatment fee be covered by general level insurance? Or I have to purchase premium level due to the expensive biologics, such as Remicade etc.
3. Will insurance company reject me or promote the policy fee due to my Crohn's Disease?

Thanks for all your replies.

My husband is on a H1B and he is being covered. We would be nothing without insurance here. But he was diagnosed many months after coming here, not sure how they operate for existing illnesses. After paying a minimal fee, all services are now 100% covered for him until next year, including Remicade. Good luck :)

Yes pre existing covered. Biologics covered but they may want you to try other treatments first.
Get the highest level plan, gold I think as it has the lowest deductible and better copays.
