Am I impacted?

So the situation is, I was VERY constipated 1-2 weeks ago. I took a ton of movicol after not being able to pass anything for 5 days, and the diarrhea that it produced stopped about 3 days ago.
Since then I've not passed anything, but if I strain I can feel something protruding out of my anus. I've looked in the toilet water and seen a small amount of yellowish mucous in the water. Could it be that the impacted stool wasn't broken down much by the movicol and diarrhea has just been flowing past it for the past 2 weeks, and it's what I'm feeling protruding?

Hi Kuro,
I am sorry that you are going through this. I wish I had advice but I tend to D myself.
Have you talked to a doc about this? I know that increasing your water intake can help with it, also are you in pain?

mucus secretion from your anus is a sign of crohns, as is constipation and diarrhea. (odd that the complete opposites are symptoms for the same disease right!? hahaha!) What you could be feeling protruding is your actual anus. Basically, you could be giving yourself hemroids from pushing to hard, and that hemroid could be what's getting pushed out. Best advice, is to see a doctor immediately. If you're getting that backed up, you can tear your intestinal lining which would lead to your stool spilling out inside of you which is both painful and can cause death fairly quickly. Not trying to scare you, but I just got that lecture from the ER doctor a couple of days ago. Hope you find your answers.

Yes, I agree with the above. Call the doc. But, it is not true constipation with Crohns, usually it is a blockage or partial blockage due to narrowing from Crohns flare or scar tissue. If you have had any surgery it can be an adhesion kink. I have been through it several times, partial blockage I go to all liquids and increase to soft foods as tolerated. Full blockage will typically send me to the ER in pain and is very dangerous. However,I can usually resolve it at home. Stay hydrated. If you start to throw up go to the ER. Do not strain or take a laxative!
