i love it when new people arrive here, they bite so easy, its like shootin fish in a barrel.

I worked .. I made the bed and put a couple of dishes in the sink ( not the dishwasher). I also worked hard at getting dinner. I had to beg Doug to go get it.

I ate chilli, from Wendy's. I must have been sent a subliminal message about chili :rof:

I was already planning on making chili and then the girls at group started talking about chili over mashed potatoes! So I made them too and rice for Mike!

I don't know why, but I am allergic lately to cooking after 3:00, so I better start cooking earlier in the day and then having it ready for the night meal.

let's go! but the cruises didn't start until the end of May for Alaska. I guess I'll have to take a nap ( another) instead. not feeling too well, talk tomorrow, ok? I'll dream about cruises, you can come with if you want to.

i just posted some thing in the joke thread that you ladies may relate too.

raining and cold here Kirsty

Ta Carol :) looking forward to my walking sticks arriving. Then I will feel more confident going for walks.

hi Sanni when i was new here i had Dusty giving me *****, and it was much worse than anything i ever hand out. we are all so lucky she stays on the R rated thread.

I'm ok got the fire going. About to have breakfast and meds. Got a hotty on my hip :)

Hi all. I slept all day after a trip to the vet because I couldn't sleep last night. Blankety blank sleep patterns of mine. Allie has had blood tests, been licenced for three more years, had all her shots and new meds for her arthritis and to prevent heartworm. I figured out we are in about the same shape and about the same age bracket since she is a dog, depending on how you figure dog years to human years (she is nine) but my "baby" looks more like Doug.

the pics I sent aren't actually Allie, although the one with the vet is her very. I think it was his dog. Got it from the vet hospital web site. He owns Boston Terriers also. gotta go *** Doug. be back.

I'd post a picture on the forum, but I can't remember how to get the url off my phone. it doesn't work the same as a regular computer. I had to post it in some app and manipulate it somehow to get the url, but I can't remember what I did.

I do too! I hope your stress levels are going down. we have a program on the Nat Geo channel where they just showed a caving expedition. my dad used to be a spelunker (caver), and I have been in quite a few, but watching it now makes my adrenalin go up.

let's all go somewhere central and meet each other and see how much we can stand each other in real life!

but southern Utah, red rock country, or maybe the high Uintahs? they reach about 13000 feet (a little over)

I have never been to Utah. So I'm in!

if in summer, the Uintah mountains are beautiful. Mirror lake highway. plenty of fishing ( lake) for Trev. we can climb mount baldy. If spring or fall Zion national park or Canyonland or other red rock area would be great. Maybe Arches national park when it is cooler for Teresa. Or Bear lake up north, the largest largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi if memory serves me correctly. Beautiful lake. lake Powell down south, if you like boating, bass fishing, water skiing.

sandy i dont like lake fishing but i would love to come over for speed week on the salt

I forgot about the salt flats! yes, that would be fun (yawn) for some. just kidding. The speed records set there are amazing. We have a lot here in Utah from mountains to deserts, and all different levels of activities here. I've been to a lot of places in my growing up years, in the state's, and I think we are lucky here. I also love Yellowstone (not Utah), the Pacific northwest, and the northeast US. Canada is beautiful for the most part too. Mexico has was very interesting, but I sure wouldn't want to live there. I loved seeing some of the cultural sites, like some ancient pyramids, etc. I really want to see most of Europe though. Never been near. I'm not anxious about seeing China or those areas. my bro in law spends a lot of time in Japan for his job ( he is Japanese interpreter for a company with Japanese base), but even that doesn't seem to draw me. A brother went to Korea for two years as a missionary, and I'm a little intrigued by that.
how bout all of you?

I'll come to Utah Sandy :) I bet its beautiful there
Illinois is sooooooo boringly flat !!"

my uncle, now long deceased, lived in south Chicago in a scary place. I was so young and naive when I visited I thought it was exciting. I loved seeing downtown Chicago too.

I can see you wanting to go see the French Riviera Kirsty, etc. I also want to see Figi, New Zealand, and Tonga. We have a neighbor who was married to a man from Tonga, and have a lot of people with Polynesian heritage here in Utah.

I'd go on a food tour :) that's my ideal with good wine :) islands are good too great for relaxing

Sandy, I lived in Chicago for two years while I was in seminary. It was exciting, but also scary at the same time. I have no desire to go back and live there. I will for sure visit, but not live there. Our school was in the heart of downtown. We even had a shooting on campus my first year. It was not involving a student, but rather the police and a panhandler. I would often forget that I was living downtown and not out in the sub burbs. It was a great learning experience for me!

Good afternoon..........I've just been packing for our trip to The Lakes on Monday.Weather doesn't look too good,so it's difficult to pack the right stuff and NOT take too much.I've been doing this for over 30yrs between 3 & 8 times a year, and I still struggle.I wouldn't care if I was a snappy dresser, anything but. It's jeans and boots etc always. But I do like to be colour co-ordinated and smart.......Lifes a struggle eh ? haha

Don't worry C, color coordinated is NOT the style rigfht now! Just open up a bag and throw somethings in!:lol2:

I been to Utah once. My dad took me there camping. We drove this little red 2-door car all the way from Washington. Was an awesome trip. Wrom Washington threw Idaho to Wyoming. I really wanted to see Yellew stone, but it was May and way too cold to be camping in mountains and it was a cold night we had there in Grand Teton national park. I did get to see Old Faitful and will allways remember that. From there it was a drive to warmer weather stopping at Dinosaur national Monument on the way to Utah. In Utah we saw Arhes and Capitol reef and Bryse Point. From there it was pretty much direct drive back up throug Neveda to Oregon to Home. Tried stopping at Crater lake but it was fogged up and no access. But today I cant believe I done that trip. Setting up the tent every night and all that. I may have to dig up some pictured. ;)

Oh,I wish I was like that. It's just not in my nature.I'm very particular and efficient.I'm a fool to myself really. When I let my hair colour grow out last year,I bought silver earings, to match my hair, and although my hair is VERY short I'm always fussing with it.My hairdresser of 28yrs,Brian, rolls his eyes when he sees me coming. What would I be like if I was "chic" ? Doesn't bare thinking about

:ybatty: :eek2: :lol2:

I made an album with pictures from my Utah trip and a couple other 2004 pictures in it. So if your interested go have a look. ;)

Thanks Carol. That was a very good visit back in 2004. A friend of mine got married there that year and that was one reason for my trip.

Doug had a lot of silver by the time I met him, in his early thirties.
Sanni, those pics are great! Teresa is right, you look happy with your dad. you have some of his facial features too, definitely can tell you are related. I can tell which pics were in "red rock" part of Utah. do you know where the other pictures are at?
hey, Teresa, you have to see Arches National Park when it is mild temperature outside, then you will have very good memories of the place. it is gorgeous in spring with the green shrubbery against red rock, and the hiking is great at any level.

i hope you packed your camera so we can see your pics

The one with the big tree is just at the border of utah and Colorado. We camped there for the night on Colorados side to say we spent a day there. The one with the campfire and the rain is back in Oregon. And the 2 of me with the blue shirt and riding the horse in the other is from Wenatchee, Washington where I went to a drill competition with my friend. So there really was only a couple pics from Utah. But that trip brings back so good memories.

Thanks Trev.

One more win for the road. I am off to bed. You all enjoy the rest of your day/night/morning. ;)

That'd be great. I went there too Sanni a long time ago 2000. Me and my now husband went out west and drove 2 weeks and saw Arches and the Grand canyon and Las Vegas and Hoover Dam and Arizona painted desert and Monument Valley in Utah,Arches National park, Salt Lakes and through Idaho and onto Crater Lake and it was absolutely beautiful! Then to Redwood forest and then to Sequoia National park and Kings Canyon Nat. Park, Monterey Bay, then San Fransisco and then to Yosemite and then back to Vegas to fly home. What an awesome trip. We put 4200 miles on the rental in 2 weeks. I will never forget it either! Wish we could go back!
