I slept 7.30 hrs. last night~ felt wonderful. Woke myself up screaming "help me", a man was robbing me! My husband was already up and yelled in too.
Lovely, those nightmares!!!:frown:

Oh, I hate those. I don't remember what I dreamed, but I watched "Girl, Interrupted" last night, and one of the major songs was "Downtown." (From the sixties.) I woke up with that song going over and over in my head. I hope that you have that nightmare shaken and gone by now.

Oh yeah, I loved that movie! Now Downtown has me going downtown too!
I am over the nightmare, but I have them alot from my meds I think.
Hope you are doing better today???
What is welchol?

Given for diarrhea. When I complained of diarrhea and constipation, he said "which one do you want to get rid of most" and I said the d. was bothering me much more. I cut it back when I started to have a lot more c., but it appears I cut it back too much.

Collecting my win before heading out wor my evening walk with my dog. Atleast tonight we have better weather (last night it was pooring down rain.. and even my dog hates that kind of weather).

my Alfie HATES rain but loves to swim in rivers and the sea.He even wades in the rainwater rushing down the gutters at the side of the road.Enjoy your walk, don't you feel so much better when you've made the effort?

My Jessi is scared of rain, wind, thunderstorms, lol! She hides, shakes, it breaks my heart. Good thing we rescued her from a farm at 4 weeks old, what would she have done being out in the storms?

I know it's for D but is it a prescription or a pill or OTC med?

Prescription. (pill. Giant house pill. I took for a day.) He gave me a higher dose that he gave Doug when Doug was having problems for weeks and weeks.

Ok, I was just curious coz I had never heard of it before.
When we were little they used to give us paragoric (OPIUM in a liquid form). It
did work. Mom loved it coz we'd go to sleep.

Teresa, gotta go myself. I'll write you an email later, but not too much later, after I do a little around here and find where I put a check. I'm so absent minded!

I have been taking a horse pill for D myself. Doctor prescribed colestid (same as questran I believe)

I'm on the powdered form of that. You mix it in a drink. I haven't needed it for about a week now. I go from one extreme to the other. So frustrating!:stinks:

Good morning all :) HOw are we today? I am happy I get to pick up hubby from airport tonight - he has been at university studying hard. I feel even better today. Either the humira hit me real hard this week or I forgot to take my prednisone - its like an emotional rollercoaster here - that cats havent complained yet :ylol2:

good morning guys, off to the river today to catch a feed of whitebait. i can taste them already.

LOL! I read the letter that wasn't there, no worries. 30 mins left, slow day. Ready to go home and get more than 4 1/2 hours sleep tonight. Catch a fish for me! Hugs!

Catch me one too Trev! I'm too lazy today!

Yes Robert, I'm very glad you won also. There is something about watching a good game.
Cheryl, sweet dreams. Don't dream about work.
Trysha, you're good at keeping Robert in line without saying much. I'm too wordy, but
that's me.
Trev, I'm jealous of your fishing. I went fishing for a grand total of about an hour this year. But I am glad you get to go.
Teresa, Doug used to have a fish tank that one fish used to jump out at us and w had to put him back in. The lid didn't work exactly right. We called him the suicidal fish.
One day we found him next to the fish tank. Poor fishy. Doug hasn't owned a fish tank since...
Glori, get better.
GJ, keep making sweet music, and keep those kids in line.
Kirsti, I hope all went well this weekend. Don't work too hard, keep time for cooking.
Carol,. you know I just love you.

Good night everyone.

Trev - what you doing with a forklift? I got heaps of books on trademe at the moment. I'm selling my greeting cards to which is good.

I go to GI on Thursday, should be good.

Hi Doug, how was your Humira jab?

Fine.I leave the pen out for an hour. It ready doesn't hurt if I do that and I zone out to tunes for a while before the shot.
How are you doing Kirsty?

Couldn't get to sleep. Sandy, just read your message, I'll answer it tomorrow evening. That is funny you had a fish that jumped out and I said that!
How many fish did you catch Trev? What kind?
Hope you all had a pleasant evening...:ghug:
Love ya all!

Jamie,
You always sneak in when I'm not looking!
Hope you are having a lovely time! We are all being the nuts we are, while you're doing good things!
God bless you for that!

I guess I'll try to get to sleep again. Count some sheep maybe:sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep:zzzzzzz

Yep!! I am the sneeky one and you never know when I am going to strike! But it will always be at night because I am busy during the day. ;)

Thanks 723! Hope you are well tonight

well whitebaiting was relaxing but the whitebait were slack, only got about 40, not even enough for a feed. for those that dont know what whitebait are, they are about the size of a match, you need a few for a fritter. some people dont like looking at the eyes when you eat them, very tasty.

for those that dont know what whitebait are,

Well Trev whitebait has always been a real favourite of mine and I have good reason to know quite a lot about it. New Zealand whitebait are actually slightly different to the UK version - you have fritters while we deep fry them with lemon juice - and they are fantastic!!

Dr James Murie (1832 - 1925) was a Scottish academic, scientist and explorer. He was with Dr Livingstone in Africa and something of a celebrity of the day. He retired to the fishing village of Leigh-on-Sea (where I was born), living there for over 30 years. He had a difficult relationship with the local fisherman - a real clash of cultures. Whitebait was plentiful in Leigh and in1903 he wrote, what is still, the defining UK paper on whitebait.

He lived alone in a tiny cottage, long since demolished, overlooking the water until he died there aged 93 in 1925. I know all this because that is the cottage where I was born in 1959.

your whitebait look more like baby hearings, ours are translucent.

Eeek! Yuck! How do you catch them? ie, what do you use for bait? They are about the same size as Doug's suicidal fish.

All you needle phobics out there, I used to have to stick a two inch needle in my thigh every week until I was "cured" from M.S. (That is, until the doctors took the diagnosis of M.S. away.)

Teresa, I give myself my B12, just started doing it last fall. Pinch up some skin on my thigh and do it, wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. How often do you do yours?

Cheryl is right, it isn't as bad as you think! And as to my two inch needle (it really was - it was avonex for those of you who have heard of it) it was the finest gauge needle there was. intra muscular hurt no more than an under the skin shot. It was just the thought of it.

morning Cheryl!

morning guys! Joining this thread.

I am doing something so bad--having a latte (skim milk but milk bothers me a little. More so whole milk). I'm going to feel terrible later. I don't know why I did this. I guess because I'm doing school work.

Oh, not to mention, coffee hurts my stomach and making me gassy.

I was so tempted to tell them my name is Primrose and when they call my name, I'd say "I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE." or tell them my name is Voldemort and see if they say "He who shall not be named" or "You Know Who."

Got these ideas from online. I should have done that but I wasn't leaving. I am staying at the cafe to do work.

Yup, I am! Another day, another dollar....how's you today, Sandy?

Buttons, you could also try just a symbol, and be "the artist formerly known as Prince" lol. But then, he had to give that up. LOL!

G' morning Buttons. I hope Robert is nice to you so you won't get scared off. Welcome to the looney bin. I hope your stomach doesn't get any worse, and I love the name Buttons.

I'm surprisingly well as I had another seizure last night. I am rather tired of these, though. I usually don't feel this good the day after. It must be that crisp fall air. It's only 55° it there. I love the fall.

Glad you feel good today, Sandy. Yeah, it's been crisp here too, mornings for sure! LOVE the fall....

Robert, you are so in denial.

Awwww, lol! That's the nicest you have ever been to me. Good, I am having a terribly bad mood morning, so I need nice.:rosette2:

Mike gives me my B12 shots cause I can't do it myself. I dread needles!:voodoo:

You can do your own B12..? As in allowed to? I have to go to a nurse for that one. And my humira is done by who ever is available (my man, mom or any friend who might be visiting, but I cant do it myself.. sutch a wimp).

And talking of wimps.. If you pound your finger really hard that it gets a bruise can the nail still fall off? Im sure there is some DIY person here with experience and knowlege about this.

And WIN!

Yes, you can do your own B12 shots. I never wanted to, but I would get behind on it, not always feasible to stop at the doc's office for it, etc. And in the end, they seemed to not want to do it, kept asking me why I didn't do it myself. So I had them show me how, it's really so much easier than I thought it would be.
I think you could lose the nail, but sometimes bruised ones don't fall off, the bruise just has to grow out with the nail.

Thats interesting. Here atleast the B12 is injected into muscle and not just under the skin like Humira is. So I can only do it with special training and even then they don't recondmend to do it to yourself. So every 3 moths I see a nurse and she gives it to me. I wonder if you have different type of injections.

Oh and I hope that is what is happening to my nail. Since the bruise is moving down. But it still hurts and the finger is a bit swallen. I slammed it inbetween the door last saturday morning. I know.. really smart.

I shut my thumb in one of those stand up safes at work once years ago....I am a klutz from way back, don't feel bad. Closed the door and just never moved the thumb out of it, lol!
Well, they always gave it to me in the arm, but for me, they showed me to just pinch up the skin on my thigh between 2 fingers and inject it there.

Well considering I cant even do my Humira there would be no way to for me to do B12. For me the nurses put it in my bum since my arms are so skinny there is no muscle in them. :D

But your signature says you do it every two weeks.. so I am pretty shure its something different. Is it a ready dose like the Humira pen is? Just push a button?

Well, they didn't think once a month was enough for me last fall. So they changed it to every 2 weeks. I am sure they will drop it to once a month again now that the flare has settled down.

LOL! They taught my hubs to do mine in my bum, but he hated sticking me. They told him it had to go into fatty tissue, which is strange to me. Most people tell me I have no bum, lol!

Well thankyou CLynn. This was interesting. I may have to go to a different part of the forum to read more about that. Maybe my B12 could also be given to me by my man instead of at the clinic. Would save a bit of time not having to line up and wait.

I am going to head to bed now. You have a good night.. or day. .since i think it must be noonish there now.

It's 3 p.m., ready for our evening. Sleep well, and you are welcome. I was going to check it out to, lets see what we find out.

My brother and his girlfriend both have crohn's--they didn't even know that when they met. They found out through each having to use humira or something. It's sad but so adorable. My poor brother hates it and he's such a tough guy. I've heard it's painful from him.

As for my stupid move of drinking coffee this morning, I am in so much misery. But in other news, all is well I suppose--haven't gotten test results for lyme.

hope everyone has a good rest of the day!

once a month. Just hate dealing with needles, plus I have a tremor!:eek2:

Hi Sandy,
Will answer your email tomorrow. Pooped tonight!!!

That's okay. It appears that everyone else is here, too. No post since your post. I also just came on the forum for another hit and run because I was too tired for anything else. Good night all! Good morning all! Good afternoon all!:ghug:

Went to the gastro - all good, up for a pill cam next. Have to slow pred taper, starting to wonder if my adrenal glands are working. I dont seem to be responding well to stress. I wonder what the test is for that??? Annoy me and see if I hit you? Or is there a blood test I can do for you?? I'll be on humira until at least May 13 then we may reduce that if I am all good. My guts hurt but not as bad as May this year. So its good, apart from the lovely person that stole my glasses :frown:

hi Kirsty, bit slack about your glasses, we wont talk about the whitebait, lucky there was chicken for dinner.

Robert i think you and i should have a vote and make this a fishing forum, much more interesting than knitting.

Whitebait has always been a big thing here, eh Trev. One year I got my mum a kilo of it for her birthday pressie - she was so happy.

Yea, stink about the glasses - cos I wear them for driving. I swear they are in the docs office, or the lady sitting where I sat in the waiting room took them.

Was this like the pair you lost?

I think your present of whitebait was inspired - I think you are the perfect woman with a thought process like that!
