Prayer and Spiritual Support

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

Found out yesterday my father's artery on one side is completely blocked. They don't want to operate because they are afraid something will break off. Can you pray?

Praying for your father Ron! and Sandy praying that the Lord gives you some peace and healing.

Have to deal with dysfunctional family who has been snubbing me lately today, possibly last day I'll see my mom alive as she is moving 1000 miles away. I'm really scared and emotional.

So many people with so many problems, I pray for Ron and his father; Sandy and her mom; and for my daughter who has another incurable condition called EDS and Chiari Malformation. She has headaches every day and nothing successfully stops them for long. She might be facing multiple fusions in her neck and back. We are all in your hands, Lord, and we need you to calm our hearts.

Here's a song that says it well:

@Jack prayers for healing for your daughter and thanks for sharing the wonderful song!! Be our Prince of Peace Lord!

A couple of years ago I told you about and asked for prayers for one of my best friends of many years because during the same time period I developed blood clots in my lungs, she was found at her house after being unconscious for almost three days from a severe brain aneurysm. She shouldn't have survived, but miraculously did (with some, but minimal disability, even tho she had to relearn to walk, etc). A few months ago, her only child, a daughter in her mid twenties, after developing blood clots in her lungs herself for the second or third time in a few years had to have open chest surgery to place a filter in her lungs because they also discovered she had pulmonary hypertension and other complications. Today I got an email from this same friend because her twin brother fell off the roof of his house he is building. His son was with him at the the time and saw him take a couple of last gasps as his eyes glazed over and he went unconscious, but he did get to the hospital alive. Amongst other things, he broke 5 discs in his neck and back, broke every rib in his body, and ruptured the dura sac, the sac that holds spinal fluid and the spine and its nerve connections, but he had nerves floating around haphazardly everywhere. He had two surgeries, about eleven hours total, and is now in a medically induced coma in the ICU. Best case scenario, months and months of physical therapy etc. (my friend only had a couple), but will have to relearn to walk himself, if he can, and will have one leg shorter than the other, and they expect nerve damage. Please say a prayer for him and his family. They are good people. Thanks.

Also please pray for DougUte, my hubby, who is the sickest I've seen him with his crohn's since he had surgery almost six years ago. Thanks.

Ron, will keep you in our prayers, pray the Lord guide the hands of those treating you. With His almighty power, He can do anything in His will.!:sign0085:

Husband is at his lowest point. Living with severe pain from his autoimmune disease. Meds aren't working. He is feeling helpless and hopeless. So depressed he can't see any positives and doesn't want to try to get help or try anything new. I am very hopeful and trying to keep the faith that there is something out there to help him. It's hard keeping the faith for both of us. Any prayers are greatly appreciated. I pray the answers will come and he will be receptive to them when they do. Thank you all in advance.

Prayers

I can't even imagine how that must feel for both him (confusing, frustrating) and your family. Prayers coming for all concerned. Is he in a place that can take good care of him?

I pray and give abundant gratitude for all of this experience.
I pray for us all, to have strength, courage and a continued ability to gain knowledge that leads us to healing. To strengthen our trust, to place people in our path with further knowledge, to have faith that what ever comes our way is for our greater good and to have the ability to recognize what is our right path, and or choice when presented.

I ask God for us all to experience being healed, to grow in knowledge, & as an example our compassion and kindness for one another to be extended. I ask that our suffering be minimal and if possible taken away. For anything is possible through our Lord and with faith.

Each day I wake up and give thanks for all that is. Through out the day, even if in pain I give thanks for being. For nourishment received, for strength that has sustained me. My last thoughts of each day are thank you. We are all truly blessed. May you all not loose sight of this even during difficulties. That breath you just took, is a blessing.

Never loose faith, always have a grateful heart.
Be well, God bless

May God be with us as we go through the ups and downs of this disease. May he bring healing and remission.

I hope all goes well as you provide service to the people and help accommodate an orderly election, and will pray that your health won't get in the way or cause discomfort. I also will pray that our leaders will lead better and learn to put the people before their own wants, and lead with kindness AND wisdom. (What a thought, I know!)

I will pray for your stomach, Ron, to settle down and allow you to make it to church. Would you also pray for me? I feel "fuzzy brained" (migraine?), slightly upset stomach and my heart has been beating slightly fast again. I also don't like missing church.

I hope you don't mind this is non GI related. It turns out I have a rare, but serious heart condition called pulmonary hypertension, which is totally different than normal hypertension. It involves arteries in lungs putting pressure on right side of heart, can lead to many different complications including heart failure (but hopefully not). Some people even end up with heart/lung transplant, but again hoping won't get anywhere near that bad. Prognosis depends on what caused it, so more tests coming. Not doing well right now between med change that doesn't control racing heart as well and test that aggravated my lungs yesterday. (I also have asthma.) Could really use some prayers. I've got things to do and about all I can do is trips to the bathroom and back without heart racing even more and me getting totally out of breath. Cardio office did add potassium and water pills after I called and complained of worsening racing heart Wednesday which helped a tiny tad, but not enough for me to do anything but be a couch potato, and now it's the weekend, and I'm most uncomfortable, could really use prayers.

May God heal your heart Sandy. I pray for guidance of your physicians in your continuing care. May you feel God's presence and love.

Good news (comparitively), after another trip to ER, the coughing (which aggravates racing heart) since my lung function test is due to a temp condition, pluerisy (inflammation of lining of lungs). Hopefully the heart/lung condition will get under control, and the pluerisy will definitely get better. Thank you for your prayers, I felt them.

Thanks, Ron. Pluerisy/asthma cough a tiny bit better, and hoping pred my doc put me on Friday kicks that out totally. Heart still racing, but that is also improving at a little better rate.

Prayers that you will have a wonderful Christmas and that you can enjoy your family and feel great! Merry Christmas!

Praying for strength for my father who has battled Crohn's for 30 years now. He is unable to turn his head and the Meds prescribed to him are not working. He is losing faith.

Did you find out when your surgery is Jane? Sending healing thoughts and prayers to all those who need them. :ghug:
