Seton catheter....friend or foe?

Hi guys,

So I recently found out that I likely have to have a seton catheter put in for about 6 months due to a fistula, and to prevent further abscesses (I had one last month and it was noooo fun!). I am a bit nervous about having something in me for that long and also, having part of it (a rubber tube or something) stick out of me. Will I be able to comfortably sit, drive, wear tight jeans, have sex?? Any comments from those who have one or have had one in the past would be much appreciated!! Thanks! Stay healthy!

I'm sorry you didn't get a response until now My best suggestion is to check out our fistula forum located here. A lot of people there have setons and talk about the positives and negatives and provide tips.
