What is YOUR weather like today??

NZ is really copping it from ex cyclone Gabriel. For only the third time in NZ history they have declared a state of emergency for the entire country. In one day the north island has received three times the normal monthly rain total. There is serious likelihood or land slides with one house already sliding into the sea. We have severe storms forecast for today. Ron.

I've just watched NZ on our lunch time news Ron....is there no end to the disasters ? I suppose not and it's such a worry.
Another sparkly day as our chirpy weather girl tells us with a smile....I might have to smack her, It did start with frost and fog though and it was cold without a quick blast of over priced and worrying fuel prices....but needs must.

-4C The quiet before the storm. The air has that stillness before something bad moves in. Yesterday the neighbor and I went out and cleared the snow from the roof of the cabin, I was wore out from it all. Carol, I wish the weather lady on the supper news would stick to doing the weather without her personal opinions and whines about the weather.

A month ago we were up to our butts in water. Now we are on fire again. A lot of the fires are in the SE of the state and up on the Darling Downs and are due to the huge amount of grass that grew after the floods . A series of heatwaves in the past couple of months have dried the grass out. Unfortunately grass fires are very volitile and fast moving. Up to twenty homes are believed to have been destroyed in the past three days. Fortunately the residents evacuated quickly and no lives were lost. We had a large storm with golf ball sized hail come through last night. Once again my suburb called Panorama lived up to what the locals call it...Lightning ridge. Had my meeting with the shrink yesterday, interesting but not very helpful. Ron.

Unbelievable weather over there Ron....it changes from one serious problem to another in a short time.Have you noticed a difference in your climate since you were a youngster ?.....same bright sparkly day here and 9c. BUT were expecting 65-75 mile wind on Friday but still mild with up to 14c in the south of the country.

-15C snow and blowing snow. We received 15 cms from a quick hitting storm and temperatures have tumbled. Glad I went in to get supplies yesterday. Now I can hole up until the winds die down and the sun comes out. Carol, from where I live, in my lifetime I have seen no change in the climate, but what has been changing is rather startling, is the state of our forests. Its hard to call these sterile lands forests, for they are nothing more than tree farms devoid of wildlife.

Carol i have noticed major changes in my lifetime. The frequency and severity of bushfires, The severity of cyclones and of droughts. We no longer just get summer rains ,it is either drought or massive floods. Even the great barrier reef, every year there is one or two coral bleaching event. In the 60's we first heard of the crown of thorns starfish and their assault on the reef , now it is a yearly event. So much has changed since I was young and so many of the changes cannot be remedied . A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit New Zealand just down the coast from Wellington overnight. So far no reports of damage or casualties. Ron.

OMG !!! is there no end to it all.? A young girl was rescued in the Turkish/Syria earthquake after a week underground all alone. Also a dog was pulled out elsewhere. They are well over the time to call it a day but how can they when people are still being brought out alive.? The mental anguish for all concerned must be intolerable.....10c here today our first named storm is on it's way for tonight and tomorrow. Be careful what you wish for Carol !

-18C Clear. The world is full of hurt, the pictures coming out from that quake, the stupid wars, and humans are essentially consuming the planet alive. When I was younger the forests were majestic, and the wildlife was amazing. The lakes were rich fisheries along with bull frogs. The frogs are gone for the most part and the fishing is pretty thin. At some point these sickly forests will burn with an intensity we have never seen before. Every year the forest industry brags about how many million trees they replant, but what they are not saying are that all those trees they planted are part of their long term plans to turn our forests into controlled tree farms to feed the mills.

I'm beginning to wish I never got onto the aged care grid. They call me every second day and do nothing but cost me money. Everyone said I should apply for a disabled parking permit, so i did that cost $20.00. They suggested I needed help with cleaning. Two hours a week at $18.00 an hour. They gave me a shower mat that has to be dried after every use and has suction cups that stick to the floor. I nearly kill myself trying to get it off the floor. I bought y own shower mat,a hydro wonder mat, they use them in ships showers. they are on slip self draining and don't get moldy. That cost me $50.00. before I joined age care they promised the world and said it would cost me nothing. In the words of that old song ,nothing ain't worth nothing but it's free. Ron.

Bloody hell Ron,don't let them bully you.I feel as though I encouraged you to seek help to some degree, but I thought it would be free !!! Storm Otto arrived last night but it's over now.We in the North East got off lightly AND I got the washing dried outdoors although I kept a careful eye out in case it blew over the park. 10c again,I'm sure the thermometer is jammed.
Buff,it must be soul destroying seeing your once lovely area lost forever. But at least we can look back and say we had the best of it.I can't imagine things ever being the same again.

-22C Sunny Dry cold. Ron, I would end the program, it doesn't sound like this is for you. If they promised free services I wouldn't have paid them one cent. At this point tell them you can't afford the program, I could not afford to pay for the cleaning service, like you I live hand to mouth on my small pension. Carol, we are the last generation to know what it was like to live and experience the last of the pristine life on the planet. They are not finished with it yet. First the logging, now comes the mining for rare earth elements for the rush to build the electric car. I see the rush to go electric as the final nail in the coffin for life on this planet.

We have monsoon floods in the north of Qld. heatwaves and bushfires in WA,SA and Vic as well as the southern highlands of NSW. My daughter lives in Port Lincon in SA .25 properties were lost there in a bushfire yesterday. There are grassfires burning on the outskirts of Melbourne and fires are still burning up on the Darling Downs in Qld . The death toll in New Zealand has risen to 9 with around 1000 people still unaccounted for.Our temp is expected to rise into the mid thirties for the next few days. Yes Carol and Buff I am not unhappy to be in the final stage of my life and I am sad for the coming generations. Ron.

-11C Sunny with a blustery west wind. I did that yesterday Carol as I had to go in to the clinic for stoma maintenance. I did treat myself with take out Chinese food. The portions are big, so I'll enjoy the other half today for supper. The day went rather well, I was just ahead of the late afternoon rush and the clinic was on time.

-5C Life in the slow lane; the older bunch of us just hung outside in the yard yesterday, while the younger ones headed out on their snowmobiles. Today looks blustery as an arctic cold front is pushing through, I'll probably stay close to home.

13c sunny and less breezy,I even had some windows open for half an hour.
There's been another earthquake in southern Turkey,of level 6.Already damaged buildings have collapsed but the death rate is low but still tragic.

Another overcast day. Sydney got battered by storms again overnight. One of the northern beach suburbs received 121mm in downpour . There was a lot of flash flooding and power losses. There seems to be no such thing as a mild storm with a bit of thunder and lightning and ten minutes of rain any longer. Every storm we get seems to be severe and life threatening. Ron.. PS My colonoscopy will finally happen on March 14.

-27C Brilliant sunshine under cobalt blue skies. Good weather for cross country skiing, the sun is very strong with the double reflection off of the snow. Ron, glad to hear you are finally getting your scope done. Good to see you step in Doug. Carol I know the feeling after a long day of many stops with no time for a noon time snooze. I'll be ready for a snooze in short order.

Another overcast ,hot and humid day. Some really heavy showers overnight. Finally got some questran lite from my chemist today. It is made in Qld. When i could not get it I had said to the chemist but it is a by product of sugar refining, we should be up to our bums in the stuff. At that time he had looked at me as if I had just crawled out from under a rock.Fair Dinkum! Ron.

Glad you got your stuff Ron .I feel that my meds need a jiggle as I've been "run" off my feet for weeks in the early morning,up to 10-15 visits in 2-3 hours.I was going to ring the GI nurse but got a letter for a phone apt. in mid March,so will hang on.
It's a lovely day. Only 7c but really springlike.....Buff, if I'm not sitting down by 2pm ish I get vexed.I'm busy all morning doing womens things and going for a stroll with Les etc so that's it for the day or there's trouble.

-24C Cloudy and blustery. I am not much of a morning person, after breakfast I go to the laptop read the news, emailing etc. Then I am ready for a snooze followed by lunch. Afternoons are when my day gets going, and then I am done with it by supper and look forward to the evening. I guess that makes me a night owl.

We seem to have two states in Australian summers , either wet or on fire. SA is expecting 40 + temps and severe fire danger. There are grass fires north of Melbourne . Rain in Brisbane and very heavy rain in the north of Qld . Darwin is under the influence of the Monsoon trough with rain and high humidity That does not sound good Carol sounds like you need some of my Questran lite. Ron.

8c and breezy..Had a walk on the cliffs at the mouth of the river (Tyne) and the northerly gusts sure blew the cobwebs away. It felt more like 2c if that.
I was up at 5-30am. It's getting annoying now.I will have a look on "search" and educate myself on Questran Ron before next months phone consultation. Buff,if I didn't get the jobs done in the morning they'd never get done. I can't even remember the last time I shopped in the afternoon....if ever

-26C sunny with a fresh breeze. I dreaded the day shift and always favored working evenings back in the day. Like my father he did not like mornings either. Nothing good about mornings when the cold and dampness of the night take time to burn off, so as I see it I sleep until the dew has dried up and the deck boards are warm before I start the day othewise I go through the day dead tired.

Overcast and humid with some heavy overnight showers. There was a croc attack in north Qld a couple of days back. A guy who should have known better took his dog for a swim in a local creek. He went to a boat ramp and the large croc grabbed him by the leg. Fortunately in the ensuing chaos the croc let go of the mans leg and instead grabbed the dog(a large Rotti) the man was able to crawl up the boat ramp and was rescued by locals. The dog is still missing. The next day rangers located and shot the croc and found that it had eaten the dog. It only takes a few moments of carelessness to understand why there are warning signs in the everywhere in the north regarding the dangers from saltwater crocs. Ron.

-22C morning flurries giving way to sunshine. People get too close and under estimate wildlife. There are people who think bears are cute and feed them, then they sometimes end up on the news in the same way. I went in for supplies and it was a very quiet afternoon in the stores and the roads were quiet too. I got an appointment for my scope.

Hahaha I didn't say I LIKED mornings Buff, I just don't like housework etc anymore,so the sooner it's done the better I feel

5c with a cold breeze again.......there's been a minor quake 3.7 in the south west of the country.Given the Turkish disaster I bet there were some terrified people down there.....as to the croc attack,as I think I've mentioned before,I'm sure other planets are using Earth as a lunatic asylum

Another cloudy hot and humid day. Fires burning in the south of Wa and in the southern slopes in NSW. The nights are starting to cool a bit. Not before time. Ron.

-22C Sunny. Another regular winter day, the days are getting numbered the sun is getting pretty high up now. Carol, if it were not for afternoons I would never get anything done. It took quite a few to cut all that firewood thats keeping me warm. In a few weeks the wood cutting starts all over again. I still feel it in my bones, and I think the saw is still warm from last year.

It felt a bit cool in bed last night with just a sheet over me. I might have to put one of my heavier cotton covers on. If I don't I will start to get some heavy duty cramps and I don't like cramping. Once it starts it is difficult to control. Ron.

9am and 5c but it will get up to a balmy 6c by noon....It's worrying how quickly the seasons go over eh? Ron,look after yourself ,I know you do your best.I'm on early today as I'm going to check out Questran on search. My phone consultation is not for a couple of weeks but I need to know what I'm talking about.....

-7C cloudy expecting some snow. Time goes by fast, January and February went by 1,2 gone. I went out to the lake and the neighbor with his newly rebuilt engine on his snowmobile blew, and his wife had to tow him home. He spent a lot of time on the motor. At least it happened close to home, and not way out there.

Pleasant Autumn weather, Pity it does not last all year, Ron.
Enjoy it Ron it might only be today......another quake in Turkey with more toppled buildings.....almost 100 refugees died off the coast of Italy when an overloaded wooden boat broke up on the rocks. How desperate must you be to risk that with your young kids ?....bright and sunny at 6c today

That is why scientists search for intelligent life in space. They have found precious little of it on earth. I hate to say it but I fear there is no solution to the greed hatred and stupidity that has become indemic in most countries in the world. Rules and decency are always for the other guys. I really don't think much of the human race. ron.

my thoughts exactly Ron. They've realised much to late that the planet needs SAVING and in my opinion they'll lose interest long before they've even made a dent in all the destruction and greed that's to blame. The world will never be as pristine as we knew it.As to the hatred, spite and total disregard for each other well why bother ? I think the world will end long before
people stop looking out only for themselves..........it's a bit drizzly now so I'm just finishing here then settling down with a good book.......there's been some absolutely stunning pics on the news of the last couple of nights Aurora Borealis. (Northern Lights) Of course guess who was in the Land of Nod and missed it......again

I'm sure aliens are watching us but don't want to get too close. If I were them I wouldn't want to get close to an alien race who point nukes at each other while violently killing each other and consuming the life out of the planet the same time. The human race was the worst thing to come along for poor old planet Earth.
-8C sunny after receiving 5 cms of fresh snow. Take in the good weather while you have it Ron, I am taking in the weather we are having now as it will not be long before spring descends and makes a mess out of it all. Two weeks before they mess with the clocks with daylight saving time.....ugh!

Carol we just missed out on seeing the Aurora Australis by a couple of hundred kilometers. It has been visible over much of NSW. In most of the primitive cultures it was the elders that set the agendas. It is a shame that principle has been forgotten. In western countries the whole population for the most part is infected with the get rich quick mentality and let the kids clean up the mess. Still warm and humid with a very active monsoon in the north. Poor old Vanuatu has a cat 3 cyclone sitting right on top of it at the moment and is copping quite a beating. Ron.

Vanuatu had a beating a year or so ago,I remember you saying Ron. Over here Spain and Morocco are having snow, whilst not unheard of,is a shock to them.Prices and rationing of fruit and veg, is causing panic here. Can they not open a tin of peas or beans the twits. ? I saw a pic of a dirty white delivery van with "there are no tomatoes left in this van overnight " written in the dirt. 7c with rain off and on today.Won't be able to see the borealis tonight for cloud,so won't bother staying awake.

-15C overcast. The cloud cover obscured the auroras so we missed out despite being a prime area to view them. I abhor western countries for their waste, excessive use of the law and taxation, and the complete disconnect from the natural world. These countries are nothing more than great cages with hamster wheels where one goes nowhere.

Large tracts of the Northern territory have been flooded by the monsoon rains. Around 800 residents of the Alligator river floodplains have been evacuated to Darwin after the river has burst its banks . The river is running at + two meters on its upper flood level. rain here today but an out of bushfire is burning up on the darling downs. Ron.

I think Australia has more than it's fair share of bad weather Ron.I know we in the UK have a reputation for being" whinging poms" but that's only when we're over there hahaha...we're used to moderate seasons and anything else like excess heat, cold.deep snow, floods ,mud slides and violent quakes are virtually unknown to us....It's 6c today and people here are moaning about how cold it is (to Buff's amusement I'm sure) and in the summer I will be moaning about the heat when temps reach an unbearable 20c to your amusement Ron.

Vanuatu Is in line for another cyclone following the exact same track as the one that has just hit them. Temps around 33c for most of next week and some rain. Very humid as well. It is still pouring in the Territory as well as the east Kimberly. As if they haven't had enough as well. Ron.

-20C Sunny. The weather has been quiet, any storms have been going south of us, and those are pussycats compared to what Ron is dealing with. Winter is pretty gentle compared to summer, between the biting flies and thunderstorms that hit like bombs. I went in to see the dermatologist for forehead maintenance, and bought 150 liters of gas over on the First Nations at a discount. Glad I did, it went up 4 cents a liter overnight. I'll get more before the end of the month before the next tax increase kicks in.

They are predicting more rain in the short term but pacific water temps are suggesting we could be in an elnino pattern by mid winter with higher than normal bushfire risks. Ron.

-8C cloudy. A Cesna 208 went missing 3 days ago doing a supply run to Fort Hope from Nakina, despite good searching conditions the plane is still missing. Finding a plane is like looking for a needle in a haystack. We are watching the potential for the elnino, it may mean a warmer dryer summer.

Just been to my second least favorite store ,Telstra. My phone took a tumble last night and landed on the charging plug and wrecked it. The new phone is 5g and was advertised at $299.00. I got it on special for $ 179.00 and had enough points to get a free blue tooth stereo speaker. Overcast with showers but still very humid. Ron.

Well that was a bargain Ron eh ? I do love a bargain.Of course if you hadn't broke the other one you would have saved $179......6c today and quiet. But we're expecting a drop in temps and snow after the weekend. At least it's March and not November so it won't last as long as it might.

-8C Sunny. A nice day coming up, they are still looking for the plane with the two occupants. Doesn't look good, if they survived they may have been able to make a fire and be seen by rescue. The day before the prep, I'll eat well today, and not looking forward to tomorrow.

Two cyclones in a week has really wrecked Vanuatu. No deaths reported but so much damage. Still hot and humid with a few showers. Good luck on the morrow Buff, hope all is well. Ron.

Buff, for me the prep is worse than the 'scope but neither are my favourite pastime.....but it's only a couple of days in the rest of your life eh ? 7c and grey but ok really. We had a nice walk down to the river, it's getting back up the hill that's the problem. There are three options and all as steep as each other. I always look back to the "good old days" when I never even noticed they were there. But as I aged I was happy to stand a wait while my dogs sniffed around and pee'd.Now we just PRETEND we're having an easy stroll taking in the view.

-10C The plane was found, but nobody survived the crash. There was no emergency transmitter on board, having one would have greatly sped up the search efforts in such a remote region, surprisingly there is no law against not having one in small aircraft. Its going to be a long day. The two tabs of Dulcolax hit me hard less than four hours, and now I have to drink a jug of Peglyte. Today is the worst day, and the scopes themselves are the easy part tomorrow.

I start my prep on the 13th (ominous). 600 Aust defense personal have arrived in Vanuatu to assist it clean up and repairs to essential infrastructure after two cyclones and two earthquakes. Sydney is expecting temps over 38 c for the next few days and areas of central NSW are expecting 40c+ . Hot and humid here with heavy rain expected next week. Ron.

I'll try not to think about you but I wish you well.....

Yes,we have snow !!! It's here for the week with low temps so let's get it over with so that Spring can burst forth in all her glory
Hope the day's going OK Buff, and you to Ron...Scott's fed up with the heat over there.

-5C Mainly sunny. The doctor couldn't go any further than 30 cms with the scope due to a stricture in the colon and found active chrons. Going down my throat was a stricture that is making my swallowing difficult. It might be GERD. I have been prescribed Pantoprazole, and I may have a dilation procedure done on it at a later date. They are looking into both surgical and treatments for the intestinal stricture(s).

That's not really the results you were looking for Buff ,I hope the can take some quick remedial action at both ends. Carol we could do with some snow. Out of control fires in NSW and monsoon rains in Qld. I have started my low res diet. i always start early so that I can clear properly. In the past i have not been clear enough on two occasions and they stopped the scope and I had to go thru the prep process again. Ron

So sorry that problems showed up Buff .Were you having problems that you were aware of before the scope ? Ron...good idea to start prep early.I've had unclear scopes in the past although luckily didn't have to have a repeat.Since my last one in late Dec. I've not been 100%.I was just about to phone the clinic when I got a phone consultation apt.for next week so will hang on 'til then.........3c blue sky with just an occasional threat of light snow.Snow in shaded areas has not melted since Mon.nigh and.It was minus 15 last night in Northern Scotland. Of course parts of Britain have ground to a halt as usual......talk about snowflakes, that's the population not the weather

-12C Cloudy. I was prepared for the news as I have been dealing with pain in my abdomen and the swallowing issue has been getting worse in the last few months. I am not afraid so much about surgery as I do with treatments. Remicade was an ordeal and a scary one at that, and the others I tried created side effects worse than the cause. I won't go near any of the biologics, but I am willing to try any bottom up treatments that are short term. The fewer the drugs the better it is for my body.

Since I started the scope runup I have not been able to take meds like questran and meta-mucil . As a result I am suffering constant watery acid diarrhea . I have been asked to stop all diabetes meds and I have also stopped lasik (my pee pills) so I don't dehydrate. I'm feeling bad now ,I am really not looking forward to the prep. I feel for you Buff. One of my problems is that I really cannot afford to get cancer again. They have said they cannot operate on me again as I probably will not survive and my nephrologist said I certainly won't survive any more chemo. Ron.

The older we get the fewer the options are available for our weakening systems and to keep going becomes a more delicate balancing act until one day we fall off of the beam. Something will get us in the end, and for myself, it maybe a way out from decades of misery living with this scourge. Until the time comes all we can do is endure.

Massive floods in the Gulf country in the North of Queensland . The flood peak on one of the Northern running rivers is currently 18 meters . The highest peak on record is just over 10 meters. They are expecting large evacuations and huge stock losses. We are expecting up to 100 mm of rain in the South east over the weekend. With that forecast I wish I was feeling a bit better. Ron.

Ron,don't think to far ahead. Just get through one day at a time as best as you can. It's worrying re; the high levels of flood water and sad that people will lose their homes and animals. What's it all about ? I read earlier that there's a crack across a part of Africa that COULD separate the country !!! We had a light snow fall at 6am but you'd never know it now.Sunshine has dried the streets here, but big parts of the country are up to their ears in it.Major roads gridlocked, schools closed etc. and flood predicted after the thaw. This time next week it will all be a dream and spring will burst forth.

I agree Carol my problem is I don't want to be up to my bum in water whilst trying to prep for a scope. I have been taking Somac (a proton pump inhibitor ) to stop the amount of acid passing thru my empty stomach. I start the prep at 3pm on monday and have the scope at 6.30 am on tuesday morning. I have to drink my last litre of prep at around 3.30 Tuesday morning. This is the worst I have felt going into a scope. I would not worry too much about that crack in Africa. I read that there is a tiny little golden screw in your navel and if you undo it , your arse falls off. Don't believe everything you read. Ron :)

-12C, manly cloudy. Ron you came up with a good line, I like that one about the golden screw. Thats how I view the gloom and doom predictions for the world, mankind has been fixated on the 'end' since the beginning of days. I don't believe the world is ending anytime soon except for one; the threat of nuclear war is the one we should all be taking seriously, as it could happen in an instant. For everything else its a slow process that will take plenty of time to unravel. As individuals, each one of us can wink out at any time, and in the greater scope of things the world will never miss us as it continues to go on.

Haha Ron,that's a good 'un......but as to the crack across Africa it must be true,'cos it was on the web WITH a photo !!!

I have to admit that I am struggling with this one Buff. In the days when I had private health insurance they used to put me in hospital for the prep as well as the scope. No hope of that now. Heavy storms with lots of thunder and lightning. This afternoon a man was struck by lightning on a Brisbane golf course and is not expected to survive. The floods up north are causing real problems with swamped towns and stock losses. The only ones smiling up there are the Crocs. Ron.

12c and quiet. We had a walk down to the weekly market, mostly arty farty craft stuff on Sunday. All very nice but stupid prices.
The ARTISAN food stuff is ridiculous...I mean who wants to pay £5-50p for a SLICE of cheese cake ?

-10C with a flurry. The clocks went forward an hour, but I will hold off and ease into it over the next few days. I hate losing that hour of daylight in the morning and later sunset. The lingering evening light is like an unwanted guest that does not want to leave. Monday will be the most depressing day of the entire year with the highest accident and suicide rates until we adapt to the time change which takes some time.

Our clocks don't spring forward until the end of the month .I too hate the light nights But unlike you I'm not a fan of light evenings either.I've been up early the the last couple of months and it's now light at 6-30.....7ish and dusk is about the same in the evening.I shouldn't moan I know, I;ve got a lot to be thankful for....12c again today, with showers.....Ron,have you been for your scope and are you OK ? I hope so my friend.....News that the crocs are on the high street in some areas due to the floods.

-21C Sunny. Its the most depressing day of the year with the onset of daylight saving time, but also for Ron as he is facing 'prep day' before the scope. Hope all is going well with that prep Ron, thinking of you knowing how difficult mine went a week ago. Prepping for a scope only gets more difficult as one ages I have found. Carol at least they hold it off till the end of the month. At one time the time change was done in May which was far more appropriate

Well I am still alive. I started my prep at 3.00pm yesterday and by the time I got a clear result it was 3.45 this morning. It took three laxative tablets , a sachet of sodium citrate , three litres of glyco prep and three litres of water at room temp. I got to the hospital at 6.30 this morning and was first to go in. They finished up removing two polyps. I just have to wait on pathology now but the Gi did not think they would be a problem. I have just spent two hours on the phone with the telstra shop sorting out my internet and mobile phone . He was a very knowledgeable man. Ron.

I'm glad all that's behind you Ron, if you'll excuse the pun.... the sun was shining here at 6-30am with a clear blue sky, darn it, but it's about 4c now and a horrible afternoon with rain, sleet and light snow showers. But we're in for the day after the weelky shop and a dental check up. It's to be minus 6c tonight and I wish I could get a lie in.....G.I. phone consultation on Thursday so maybe they'll come up with a solution

-15C Sunny. After a colonoscopy purge I find that my chrons symptoms improve greatly for a period of time. For a week now I have had good bowel movements and fewer cramps. This is why I believe Chrons is a bacterial problem instead of an immunity issue. With all the bad bacteria flushed from my system the symptoms are relieved. Now to try to keep it that way I have stayed away from processed foods as much as possible.

All the best with it Carol. The biggest plus with my scope was I lost six kilos. Yes Buff I always feel better after a scope. One of my doctors suggested I could always take the prep between scopes. My nephrologist did not think very much of that idea, he said the prep was very hard on kidneys. Ron.

Same here....I had a good week after my scope at end of Dec. but it's been a nightmare for over 2mths.My mantra every morning between 5 and 8am is "this is bl**dy ridiculous" and I intend to tell whoever phones me tomorrow.Mind you,it's been the same for years only it used to wait until I was up and about. The past cold and dark winter mornings haven't helped.

A hard frost during the night but it began to melt at sunrise at 6-30am, but has stayed chilly.
Parts of Africa are having terrible floods for the 2nd time.Same storm turned back on itself. And NZ are having landslides due to heavy rain there too.

-7C Cloudy. I am a week and a half after the scope and so far so good. Some pain this morning followed by a large trip to the outhouse, a good start to the day. Forecasters are mulling over the storm tract and now are forecasting anything from a few flakes to as much as 30 cms. At this point in the season we don't need anymore, but my nephew could really use it, so I hope they send it all to him and his snowmobiling buddies.

I competed all my chores this morning ,saw my doctor for my drivers license medical. He gave it to me for two years this time which is a bonus. Carol that storm that is causing so much trouble in Africa started off the Kimberly coast well over a month ago . It has travelled a long way. Ron.

12c and grey......Have you heard about the huge ball of seaweed floating off the east coast of USA ? Apparently it's 5,000 mls long.....not kidding Ron.They're not sure how they can get rid of it.....GI has recommended colesevelam (welchol).as my prob.may be bile acid malabsorbsian. (spl?) I'll pick up the script tomorrow at the hospital. Hopefully it will change my life or at least let me have a sleep in after 5-30am.....I think Ron's mentioned it....any thoughts ?

-5C heavy snowfall is expected over the next day and a half. The leak from the roof just started now after I logged on here. It cost me 375 dollars to have the area on the roof shovelled off back in January. Another bill I don't need. No sense getting it done now before this snow storm and will have to tollerate the leak next to my bed until after the storm.

That is good Carol. Colesevelam is one of three bile acid sequestrants that bind bile acids. That stops the acids causing diarrhea. You need to drink plenty of water to prevent any problems with constipation. I believe it will be a great help as chronic diarrhea is very depressing, hugs Ron. At least that ball of seaweed is a natural problem . I believe pretty soon something will come along and see it as breakfast. If there is some way they can harvest it ,it would make super fertilizer. there is always something Buff ,I hope it does not do any damage before you can get it fixed ,Ron.

phewww 14c and really warm (stop smirking Ron).......went for my script but not ready naturally,so it will wait until monday...Constipation worries me Ron,but not as much as D. I always have a glass of water on the work top and refill it as I drink it.I'm not sure how many tablets I'll have to take daily but I thought I might take less than prescribed at first. Start slow and build up. Hope the drip gets sorted soon Buff, but I'm sure you're used to setbacks,,we've got a lot of drips here, the human sort, and there's not much we can do about them either. We're watching a wild life doc (OLD CROW Yukon ) Early Spring ,absolutely breathtaking.

WE are in the middle of a heatwave . Brisbane and Ipswich were both 38 c yesterday with 77% humidity , we reached 37c. The winds have swung to the SE so we should slowly cool off from the sea breeze. There has been no breeze at all for nearly a week so everyone was sweating. Ron.

-15C We received 40 cms of snow over 24 hrs. I dug out the wood pile, and later on I will work on the driveway. A good storm is like having a break from the world constantly turning, snow storms are harmless unless one overdoes it with the shovelling. That leak stopped on its own, I hope it holds as I do not want to pay for shoveling service so late in the season.

A mild day at 12c with no wind and a short light shower.Had a walk along the river and read a few info.signs which we already know by heart....or should.A bit of interest for you is that until the 1300s the river was purely a natural place then it was used to transport coal and other goods. We have an 11th century priory on the headland which was invaded by the Vikings....Lesson over for the day.....Today both sunrise and sunset are at 6-14....am & pm then the days lengthen

Still very hot here. Nearly all of the daytime rugby league played on the east coast yesterday had to endure 36c+ temps. Stuff that for a joke ,I'd be taking up water polo. Lots of fires around the country but fortunately most are under control.Ron.

11c and cloudy but it feels warmer.......earthquake in Ecuador and Peru,12 dead so far. And another quake in Turkey 6.4 magnitude.I tell you, things are going very wrong, very fast.

Yes I agree and one of the things that concerns me most is i am finding it increasingly difficult to actually believe almost everything that I read on the net. I read a lot of articles on a lot of differing subjects and quite frankly I find that most of it is BS. One or two grains of truth covered by layer upon layer of misinformation. I really don't know what to believe anymore. I suspect that the reports of things like natural disasters are mostly true but I wonder how much of the reporting is aimed at getting someone other than the country involved to fix and pay for the damage. I must be getting really cynical but my trust in humanity in general is just about gone. Ron
