What is YOUR weather like today??

We are continuing with our English summer here in SE Queensland. 12-23c today, expecting rain on Friday. Ron.

The down side of a hot sunny climate. I had my yearly inspection at the skin cancer clinic during the week. I got a pretty good report except for a 5mm core removed from my leg. Taking powerful immune suppressants leaves you open to sun sensitivity as well as accelerating the growth of skin lesions. He found one on my leg that he really did not know what it is. He said it looked vascular in general colour but it was a series of small brown dots that has him concerned. His main worry is melanoma. I will worry about that when I get the results but at the moment I have a sore leg, It took three stitches to close up the hole he made. Should be like golf.... please replace your divots. Ron.

It's been cooler and a lot of rain here (for Utah) lately. I like it. In fact, we had record rainfall yesterday for the month of July, normally our driest month with an average of 6/10ths of an inch of precipitation, we had double that in less than two hours last night.

'Twas dull and cloudy this morning, although quite warm.
This afternoon the sun is cracking the flags and I'm sitting inside to keep out of the sun (which is now apparently my enemy 😕) and stay cool.
Thinking about what to have for dinner this evening too 😏

Someone opened the freezer door. There is a huge intense low over Victoria and an equally intense high over South Australia. In between the two is a stream of air coming directly from the Antarctic. They are expecting over a meter of snow on the Victorian alps. There is a high wind and stock weather warning for the Australian alps and the Eden Monaro area around Canberra. The cold is expected to reach up into Queensland with snow showers likely all the way up the eastern dividing range ,the New England Plateau and the border ranges of Queensland with snow possible across the granite belt. Even on the coast next week the temps are expected to range from 5 to 15. It would me much worse for us but the close offshore currents are still at 20c so they are moderating the cold . Am I worried...old jungle saying...It is easier to get warm on a cold day than to get cold on a hot day.... Ron.

You're right, Ron.

It's 9.3ºC in Melbourne at the moment (4.49pm) - up from 7.6ºC at 1.30pm. Down on the Victorian coast where I live it is 8.3ºC. Now that might not sound cold to some of you but it's cold for the middle of the day here!! And it looks like being about the same for the coming week.

When Doug and I have "thermostat wars," I always tell him it is easier for him to put on more clothes than me to take more off. It is mid 80s for a high here today. Could be worse, but I like it cooler.

Warm......It's been" The Mouth Of The Tyne" (NO it's not me !!!) Music Festival, this weekend ,and everyone must be relieved the weathers been good. Martha Reeves and the Vandellas are on tonight at Tynemouth Priory (11th century ruin). It's out doors so fingers x'd it stays fine.

It snowed just across the Queensland border yesterday and they expect it to snow on the granite belt (In Queensland ) this morning. On average we get snow here once around every thirty years. Our temp on the coast should range from 7 to 18c with strong winds so there will be a wind chill factor. I might give the early morning swim a miss this morning.........Just joking! Ron.

This is the sort of summer weather I love Ron.It's warm enough for me to go without a jacket, but it's a wee bit damp ,so alas ,I've had to wear one today.
I'm way past the wet T-shirt competion nowadays. (unfortunately)

3c on the coast this morning, the skippys are fine they just crawl into their pouch with the joeys and stay warm or at least wish they could. They are not really built for the cold . One of the reasons that roo meat is supposed to be good for you is that it is virtually fat free. I don't like it . Like eating a giant rat tho I have no reference point for that comment.:) Ron.

13° on the Gold Coast Australia atm it's 5pm. Last night we got down to 3-4°. I hate winter [emoji20]

Cloudy all day and cold.. Went back to the skin clinic, no melanoma(sigh of relief) all of the weird looking area was bits and pieces of basal cell carcinoma. It had them all scratching their heads for a while . Seems that happens when skin cancer meets cyclosporine. I went from three stitches to around ten and circular hole to a boat shaped one. At least Mark does not take chances he makes sure its gone. Cold again for a few days as another cold front wanders north. I am not complaining Ang I prefer winter and hate summer.:) Ron.

Cold front arrived over night yesterday. Brought Queensland its heaviest snowfall in thirty years, I hope it has got it out of its system for another thirty years. Ron.

Apparently Toowoomba got some snow as well Ron. If so I'm on the Gold Coast thats pretty close.

Too close Ang . I spent ten years in Canberra. I worked rolling shifts in dept of defence . Such fun at the end of night shift coming out to a car that looked like an ice block. Mind you the dry heat in summer and swallowing all of those rotten little flies was even less fun as was trying to sleep during the day in high temps. The coast north and south of Brisbane is a pretty nice place to live when all is said and done. Ron.

I just want to point out to all you Aussies who Laugh at us Poms who wilt in your brain melting heat........5c is a normal winters day in the UK,without the wind chill. We don't whinge until it gets to minus 5c,and our winter can last 6 or 7 months. As Ron said a while back, when your cold you can warm up,but when your going about your daily business in Aus. it's impossible to cool off. It's soul destroying.

16c,sunny and breezy.......now where's that Hang Glider ???

Not the biggest snowfall but cold enough at our place I reckon.

Wow Dusty....snow after this past winter we sure don't miss that. The large snow pile here just finally melted a few weeks ago. 14 c here this morning, a break from the higher temps we have had the past few days. There was actually a risk of frost in the northern part of the province Thursday night.

Crazy weather here today! It has been in the nineties for weeks. Yesterday started to get humid, then today full blown thunderstorms. Loud thunder and lots of lightning. Flooding all around town. Such a relief from the heat and we soo need the rain here.

Changeable day here, no rain though, that's coming tomorrow. I think the weather the world over is changing. Once we had clear cut seasons, but not now really. It's weird.

Bleak cloudy day. Good day to climb into a good book. Fortunately I went to the library yesterday so I am all set. Ron.

15c and showers. Glad I did all the yard work yesterday, it is raining quite hard now. Beef roast in the slow cooker.

The water in my birdbath was frozen over this morning!! I live right near the ocean and have lived here for over 35 years - NEVER before have I seen this happen. It was -2.5ºC.

The rain this morning smelled so fresh and nice, and now the sun is shining gloriously (and not too warm). Perfect.

Hi Susan I was thinking of the birds and wildlife when I saw Duskys post. There are more king parrots under the roof of the verandah than outside. Perhaps I should design and make some little ice skates for your feathered friends. It always amazes me in Nambour . Whenever it rains the pigeons always sit out in it never under cover like the rest of the birds. I don't know whether they are that stupid or just need a bath. They never look happy doing it. Ron.

Simply lovely today. My, we are being spoilt with some good sunny and warm weather.
Loved those pics of Aus and the birds taking cover. I'm feeding mine loads as they have their fledglings about right now. Tis fun watching them learn to feed themselves, but mainly they are flapping their wings about their mums and dads to continue to feed them.

My frozen bird bath!

We have light rain for the rest of the week with temps 13-25, almost spring weather. Ron.

Everywhere around the world the weather seems to be doing crazy things and changing drastically. Around here, I think it's really an anomaly, it's changing for the better! (But it will be hard to catch up with many years of drought in the Great Salt Lake and our reservoirs.)

Same here , it looks like winter is almost done and spring is coming fast. We are expecting a cold front thru early next week but then warm conditions. I really hate it when your bed is set up for the cold and then the temp stays at 17-18 c overnight and you wake up in a lather of sweat. PS OT I had a bad experience on Friday. There are things we never think of in our modern environment. I went to the local shopping centre. I was almost at the entrance when a wave of nausea swept over me . Talk about panic, where do you go to throw up in a large modern shopping centre when you know that the rest room is at the far end of the building. I headed out into the carpark and to the end wall only to find I could barely get my chin over the top. Luckily it was mostly dry heaves ,it could have been very messy otherwise. I don't know what caused it (story off my life) but it has made me consider carrying the equiqalent of an airline barf bag on me at all times. Ron.

Ron, it's far more embarrassing when it comes out the other end! But I also get very nausic and pukey and things come up or through if I exert myself.

Here the weather is good for ducks and the garden. Nothing to inform the world of I'm afraid. It's because the children have broken up from school now.

We reached 27c today but they are talking 18 max on Tuesday. The 27c was ok except for getting the bed covers right. I took it very easy today . I am falling asleep every where. I check the puter before going to bed. That was at 11pm . I woke up at 2am still in front of the puter. It is becoming a worry. Ron.

It's going to get to about 92° F here today, but I'm glad we don't have to put up with humidity also (though my dry skin would appreciate it.)
I hate that nauseous feeling, or other tummy trouble feeling, no matter what end it comes from. :ghug:

Bloody windy and plenty of showers. Nothing summery here either, despite it's a seaside town. I feel sorry for those camping. I'm sure some tents will have blown away.

Ron, could you take the computer to bed with an appropriate web site/page? I'm sure it could be made more appealing. Mind, that could keep you awake.

Whatever do you mean Spooky ???:ylol::ylol::ylol:

PS. still raining :cool2:

Spooky , with my testosterone levels, I'd sleep like a log:):):) Ron PS They think the nausea may be my old foe kidney stones, again.

I live in Central Illinois and by 9 am the heat index is supposed to be 99 degrees F. At 3 pm the heat index will be 112 degrees F.

One degree doth not a summer make. On the other hand Cody knows what a summer day is. :):):) Ron.

temps in the mid twenties , sea temps still over 21. Tourists from overseas are loving the weather. We have had a lot of problems with great whites this year and not just Mick Fanning at J bay in south Africa. A young girl watched her dad get killed whilst collecting scallops in Tasmania last week and there have been around five attacks in Northern NSW this year two in the last month or so and quite a few off the WA coast. Great whites are a protected species in Australia as opposed to the average Australian ,who isn't. The ecology of our seas relies on their being a healthy range of apex predators. A lot of scientists think that the great whites have made such a big comeback because the humpback whales are migrating in such good numbers up and down the east coast of Australia. I guess that as people who wish to swim ,surf and fish in our coastal waters we have to realise that this is how things are meant to be in a healthy eco system. When I was a kid growing up and surfing every patrolled beach had a shark tower and life savers manned the towers every day in the holiday season. Every summer we would head to the sand with the dreaded sound of the shark bell ringing in our ears. Ron.

Interesting day.warm, 25-26 c . Same tomorrow. Around 1.30 this afternoon my house started rattling and shaking. Apparently it was our worst earthquake in Qld in over 100 years. It was centred off the coast near Frazer island and was pretty deep. No waves but it was felt from Rockhampton to the border. We live in interesting times. Ron.

your posts are rarely boring Ron and I always read them to my hub.

Please stay safe and well.....

Interesting day... rattling and shaking. ... We live in interesting times. Ron.

I find myself looking at a weather/earthquake app I have just about daily to see what is going on in the different regions of the globe I see posts from here on the forum. I've noticed that Hawaii, where my nephew lives, has just about daily small quakes from their volcano (almost always 1.7 to 1.9), and Oklahoma has almost daily quakes in the 3.0 range. Of course, a lot of quakes in the other "ring of fire" areas of the Pacific also. Earthquakes (and volcanos) both terrify and mesmerize me. Carol is right, stay safe everyone.

27c today perhaps 28 tomorrow. The snow was bucketing down in Hobart in Tasmania this morning. The cold front may or may not make it this far, if it does I may freeze overnight as it is still hot now. Ordinary day tomorrow. I am having two scans one a ct looking for kidney stones and the other a bone density scan to see how much damage years of prednisone did. What I hate about scans is not what they are looking for but what shows up by accident. Ron.

I'm losing my Gall bladder later this month due to polyps being discovered during a routine MRI. I'll let you know next month if I wish they'd overlooked it.I mean,it's not what they were looking for !!!

Keep a snuggly fleece near the bed in case the Frosty the Snowman calls during the night.........Not for him,for you:cool:
