What is YOUR weather like today??

I'm enjoying listening to a nice summer rain. The temperature has also cooled off significantly. It is only 61° right now at about noon. Very unusual for this time of year, where it is usually about 30 to 40 degrees hotter.

Warm and windy......I hate wind !!!

But I'm not complaining,at least I'm not in California,I wish it would rain for them.

I spoke too soon about enjoying the rain here. It seems that we received over three inches during the day yesterday, when Salt Lake City's (about 1/2 hour from here) annual precipitation is only about 16 inches average for the entire year. It caused some local flooding problems (including water in our basement). I'm just glad it is an unfinished basement.

The weather must be really boring all over the world. I know ours is . 10-24c every day , fine , sunny its almost disgusting it is so nice. It even scares me ... just waiting for the hammer to drop..:) Ron.

We hit 27c yesterday , a hint of the summer to come. The forecaster last night said there was a cold front coming thru later in the week but he said enjoy it as it may be the last one this winter. I don't think that I am ready for summer. Ron.

The cold front arrived, snow all over the southern states but up here in Qld it is still 23c during the day and around 10c overnight. Those are liveable numbers I vote for adopting them for the entire year. Ron.

24 c today 11c overnight , fine and sunny. Another mag 4 aftershock yesterday off frazer island. I wonder if it upsets the dingoes. It wouldn't worry the fishermen , beer wards off earthquakes:) Ron.

I was just going to complain at our high of 98°, but at least it wasn't 102° or humid. I just heard in the weather report that the Phoenix area, where my brother lives (and sister nor far ) is going to get to 115° this week. I could never live there. Whew!

Same here, but's a good "drying" day.......

Night's are cutting in too,I actually saw the street lights come on last night !!!

15C and mostly sunny here this morning. Going up to 21C with a feel like temperature of 25C with the humidity this afternoon, or so the forecast says.

Sunny and 18C - with the humidity it feels like 24C. Going up to 20C this afternoon (forecast "feel like" temperature (humidex) is 26C

It's still hot. My brother from Arizona is visiting here in Utah, his wife, an avid hiker of the Arizona dessert, left behind at her home. My sister-in-law's girlfriend canceled their hike in the 112° heat. :sun: Probably a wise move.

Warm 21c.....Got to admit I'm looking forward to Autumn now,as I do every year.
I'm fed up of going out jacketless,I want my winter woollies and boots on.......

Another week of mid 20's c and nights over 10c. We have not had any winter rain. Last rain was in Autumn. Not good. They have been doing a lot of controlled burns of late to reduce the fuel for what is expected to be a bad bushfire season coming. That is pretty typical in Australia ,we are either up to our butts in floodwater or bushfires. Ron.

It is supposed to cool down a little here today, but so far, it is just as warm for this time of day as any other lately. It is also very hazy from wildfires in Idaho, Montana, California, Oregon, Washington, etc. It is amazing how far the smoke will travel. It is also amazing that we were spared from the fire season (at least so far). Stay cool and safe everyone.

We have seen the first trend of the winds changing from the south west to the south east and with it the first prospect of rain for a season. Unfortunately the southern zone index indicates we are in for a severe el-nino event. That does not mean no rain , we get the occasional heavy rain event but little or no follow up and usually not in areas of drought that needs it. The temps will rise rapidly from now on. I really am not looking forward to what is coming. I don't think It will be a time of good health for me. Already my body is starting to go feral. My blood pressure is usually under control. It has gone up dramatically as have my blood sugars. My doctors don't seem to be able to help. Not all spring storms are weather related. Ron.

Lung clogging smoke everywhere from all the wildfires in the west. It is amazing how far smoke will travel. It's also still too warm.

Not good with the wildfires . On the news last night they said 50 Australian firefighters were taking the plane that night to head over and help out. It is really cool how nations are helping out in situations like that. We sent people over to Auckland to help with the earthquake emergency a couple of years back and they reciprocated last year by sending firefighters over here when our guys and girls had run out of numbers after protracted bushfires over three states. I hope they can help to get your fires under control without any further loss of life or property.. Ron.

gee we are lucky in UK, we don't get major extremes of weather really, so very rare anything so dangerous happens here. Hoping everyone stays safe..

The heavens opened about half an hour ago and now both front and back gardens are flooded, within two inches of the back door!
What did you say Mandy, about extremes of weather in the UK??? 😳
Bunty x

me and my big gob eh !!!, ye just had thunder storm here,,

Partly cloudy and 21C - feels like 31C with the humidity. At least the humidity dropped from 99% to 88% over the past couple of hours.

You cracked me up Tuff. Woken at 5 am by a thunderbolt whilst living in Thunder bay... I luv it.:):):) We are heading for a week of thunderstorms. I can hardly believe it. November is when we get thunderstorms not August. We were supposed to get rained in today but not a drop fell. They have hedged their bets for the rest of the week forecasting possible showers and perhaps an occasional storm but mainly fine. I believe in global warming and climate change but I had to chuckle at an Irish industrialist this week who made the point that the forecasters can't even predict what will happen in two days ,why should we believe what they are predicting to happen in two hundred years ?

Rain is getting closer. Southern NSW is getting hammered by a series of lows with lots of rain. Evacuations are being carried out at St Georges basin and a dam west of Kiama is leaking and showing signs of failure. They expect that there will be evacuations. There have been no casualties so far but the state emergency service answered over 1300 calls for help overnight. Mostly from stranded motorists. The system is moving slowly out to sea but there will be another 24 hrs of heavy rain. Ron.

Starting to cloud over today. Still raining in southern NSW with some more evacuations I think. We are expecting some heavy rain tomorrow but it may or may not happen , forecasts are not always accurate in elnino years, It has been hot this week. 29c on Tuesday. I was not happy. Ron.

Best wishes ,I hope there is not too much damage and the water goes down quickly. It just started pouring down up here this afternoon. It started off really heavy but I don't think it will amount to much. Cheers Ron.

I pray you all stay safe and don't suffer to much if any damage to your homes.. Hope it stops raining soon in Oz.love and best wishes x

Breezy, coolish, with a few clouds. It's a long holiday weekend in the UK,August Bank Holiday. It's officially the end (almost) of the Summer Festivities. The kids go back to School 1st week in September and then.......(drum roll!!!) Christmas season begins !!!!

Sunny all day, but quite a few black clouds just passing over. Nothing to complain of here. I've just moved and the west country has had nothing but rain since I left. Yippee, but wait till winter, tis colder up here, but not as cold as Tynemouth.

I have a feeling I would like Tynemouth, or any where in England myself, especially while I sit here in our hot summers. We get very cold winters though, and hence four very well defined seasons. My favorite is fall with all of the beautiful colors in the leaves and crisp cool air.
Ah, but I'm dreaming. It's still the end of summer here, still warm. The kiddies did start back to school on Monday this week, so fall is not far behind. Have a happy bank holiday, for all of you who get one.

16c,sunny (so far) wispy clouds.

I think you would love Tynemouth Sandy,We have a beautiful coastline, lots of accessable sandy beaches and cliffs, and loads of history. But of course, those of us who live here tend to take it for granted.

And when your not your not , that would be me at the mo, tho it's quite warm, I'm chilly just because I'm so tired today, early night on the cards me thinks..

Not too bad, some sun, but not exactly a summers day. Kids back to school soon so good weather will probably come along now. Usually does. I'm looking forward to that.

so true nearly always turns nice when the kids go back :sun:
quite pleasent in manchester today ..

Mid twenties and getting hotter . We had our second storm of the season two nights ago. We got nearly two inches of rain with it. It is crazy to be getting storms so early but they weather predictors are suggesting that we should get used to it as it may be the new normal. I'm beginning to think that where I live may have to remove winter from our vocabulary. I may have to shift to the bottom of Tasmania. It is not just us people either. The Qld university has done a study showing that fish species are starting to move south so that they can maintain the normal sea temps that they require to live and breed. Does this mean all of my fishing gear is obsolete.:( Ron.

hi ron, dont think your gears obsolete but you may have to take it south to follow the fish lol, fine but cloudy in good old manchester ... hey ho !

A week of mid twenties and another storm forecast for Thursday. Not too fond of storms any more. I used to love them but since I shifted to my current location I don't. I live at the base of a hill called Panorama which is covered by tall timber. Every summer it attracts a lot of lightning. I must be getting old but I don't find the blinding flash and sudden crash exciting any more. I like a little time to get ready for the crash when I see the flash. It is hard on undies at my age and stage of life. Ron.
