_1c at the moment.
Sandy glad you got through it all. I hope the inflammation is not serious and easily remedied. Hugs 😘

Hope all are well ☺

Winds blowing in a storm and colder weather the next day or two, but my internal storm is blowing out, thank goodness. It didn't help that I started the prep day the other day with a migraine, and couldn't take anything for it. That too has all gone. Unlike a lot of you, I was very healthy other than occasional migraines up until about twenty years ago (I'm 55 now), so I get grouchy when not well, but learning to cope because boo-hoo, poor me(;)), I've dealt with what seems like everything else since (insert more boo hooing here.) Also, the storms mean that the air will stay clean and crisp the next couple days. I am much happier today. There is sunshine in my soul. :sun:

I am glad you are feeling a bit better carol. I have had annoying problems most of my life, ibs and lots of ulceration in my stomach and duodenum. It was always a case of lose weight and you will be fine. I was dxed with colon cancer at 49 . It took a lot of whinging before they let me have a colonoscopy and apparently according to my GI I didn't have much longer to live. That was in 1998 and I have not had consistent good health for more than a couple of months at a time since then. The last ten years have been a constant battle just to stay alive. It is one day at a time now. It was very hot yesterday 32-3 c and humid, same today with northerly winds, never pleasant. Some rain would be nice but none forecast. Ron.

another grey day and 2c.........temps rising at the weekend allegedly, but not bikini weather,so don't bother looking through your abandoned packing cases Diane.

Ron,whatever gets you through the ill health and tortuous weather ???
Your Guardian Angel must never leave your side.I think guts (excuse the pun) and determination have a lot to do with it too.

RonRoush, I think we've had our snow for the winter. Tis cold and grey out, but like Carol said it's getting warmer on Sunday. I shall look forward to that. Stay safe in that 2-3 feet of snow.

Ron50, I also suffer stomach and duodenal ulcers and yesterday I went to Maxillo Facial at the hospital and there were students there so he was delighted to show them the Crohn's in the mouth. I suppose having Crohn's is helpful to the docs, lol.

Sandy, hope all goes well.

Fear not Mandy somewhere in the world summer IS rolling on. Looks outside,,,,yep it's here. 33c today and expecting 35 tomorrow , yuk. It is my anniversary today. On this day in 1998 I had my colon cancer removed, stage 3c into six nodes and not expected to survive more than 3 years. So ends year 18 , start year 19. wishing you all better health in the coming year...Hugs ron.

You were just meant to be here, Ron!
It's just after midnight here, but the next day should bring a high of 37°f, low of 22, and sunshine. Typical January weather.

Saw on the news tonight that you are expecting a huge snow storm in the US . Just caught the end of it and did not see where it was going to hit. Snow for a week they said , I hope none of you are seriously inconvenienced of put in danger, please stay safe. We are expecting 35c tomorrow DEFINITELY no snow. It is the weekend and the end of the school holidays so I fear lots of sunburns, not a good look. Be it hot or cold ,stay safe.PS If I was a car I would be put off the road running around for 18 years with a busted exhaust.:). Ron.

😃 oh Ron you are a card ...
6c now so positively balmy 😎 mite have to get my cossie out n the bbq fired up !! Anyone want to join me freezing your butt off n burning your sausage :rof:

You too, ron[emoji1]

Congrats, Ron. Think it must have been difficult just awaiting the death after 3 years. What a sentence to live with for the past 18 years. Well, obviously they got it all and the treatments worked. Well done. Bet you wished you had popped your clogs with some of the extreme heat you get down there. Living seems like one long sentence too at times.

Yep, the east coast of the US is expected to receive 'record breaking' snow storms affecting up to 50 million Americans. Stay safe all in the east. hope you are prepared and don't let the loo freeze over!

Wet, grey and not so cold today, no frost at all. Now for that milder spell.

Welcome, Louis, nice to have you here. What is your weather like and where are you? Tis nice to know what weather is going on where everyone lives.

Welcome , Louis and yes this is a wonderful board . It is loaded with very special people , caring people who share some pretty awful health at times but never let it get in the way of supporting their friends here , plus we never seem to take ourselves too seriously.;;;;;;; You enjoy your barbie Mandy , don't think you have much chance of burning a frozen sausage. On the other hand I won't even need a flame under my bbq . If I leave it in the sun for a couple of hours I can cook everything just fine.......Thanks Di I suspected the east coast would be the target but I don't know a lot about the winter weather patterns in the US. The waiting the three years didn't worry me but next time I will get it in writing. Hugs to all Ron.

warming up nicely for the weekend. It was a chilly, damp morning but it's 9c now at dusk.

Welcome Louis,it's nice to have a new "weather whinger" aboard.

Unfortunately, I believe Louis was a spammer, had the exact same post in about 10 places, etc. Thank you crohn's forum for taking care of the rif-raf!
It is a beautiful clear day here today, with the high approaching 40°F. Too cold for some, normal for here this time of year (and warmer than lately), but we get four distinct seasons and I like it that way. Happy day! 🌞

When you wake up in a pool of sweat you know it is going to be a hot day. It is probably just as well that I live alone when I look at the state of my bed each morning I can't believe all of the destruction is done by one person. If I thrash around so much I can't believe I haven't strangled myself with the cpap tube. They are predicting 35 today but have said it could reach 37 and perhaps a storm. If we get one it will probably be a wild one. Sandy I would love a 40f day or a 9c one Carol. Ron.

Omg, Ronroush, that's half my height. Stay safe all on the east coast. For the minute the news is showing a couple of inches and panic setting in. I thought only the Brit's could whinge about a dusting of snow. Clearly this storm hasn't quite reached you. Hope you all have enough to survive and don't have to go out much at all.

I too have difficult nights, Ron. I know how it feels. My peg tube can be a nuisance at night.

Not so cold today, sun just gone in because I was thinking of nipping out. Just my luck.

All in the USA with snow storms forecast, stay safe and don't take risks.I hope it won't be as bad as they are predicting.
Poor Ron,I don't know what advice I can give you.Why don't you hitch a lift with Scott when he comes over in March ? You might be begging me to put the heating on,can you image that ? hahaha.Hope your rear-ends better.
6c and over cast here today.Supposed to reach 13c tomorrow,which is 11c more than last weekend.......Phew !!!

Stay safe Ron, if you take the dog out it might pay to strap a little barrel under his neck. I hate the Idea of high tides causing floods in those conditions. We might get some terrible storms over here but none are ever combined with the freezing temps you have to endure over there. At last count they said the storm toll is around 17 , hoping that is as high as it gets. My heart goes out to the sick and homeless and to those old and alone. We have 32c and overcast , for once I am not complaining ,hugs to all Ron.

It felt like it took a lot out of me.

Dull, wet and grey, not cold really either. Think that American storm is just about finished with the east coast. Hope there's not too much aftermath.

Likewise on the weather Spooks☺
Glad your ok Ron (7). Tho youre tired youre ok.☺

Ron glad the weather in oz is better for you. ☺
Hope everyone else is good today ☺💕

13c and pleasant. We had a nice walk through the park then down to the Sunday market.
Ron50,I bought an exact replica of a "dunny",miniature of course. It's great, don't know where the heck it came from.It was on a retro/junk stall. It has writing on the walls, and a corrugated tin roof, and odd bits of wood here and there. It even has a hatch at the back to take the bucket out to empty.Having said that,I did use a few over there, without the bucket.Just a bottomless pit.....Oh deep joy !!!

The outback outhouse Carol. What memories that brings back. Because of my health I was sent to school when I was four ,they thought it would distract me from my health problems. I turned into a real bookworm particularly when I was around twelve. I used to frequent the school library every lunch hour instead of eating. I read a whole series of books by a guy called Jim Corbett who worked for the Indian railways . He was often called on by the Indian government to hunt down man eating tigers and leopards. They were wonderful books but very very graphic. You can imagine what it was like for an imaginative twelve year old wandering down the back yard in the middle of the night to the outhouse which resided under a large macadamia tree. My only defence was a shanghai and a pocketful of rocks. I am still very uncomfortable around the large cats and refuse to go down to Australia zoo for the tiger show, one of the handlers was hospitalised by a sumartran tiger last week. I was very happy when the sewage system came to Brisbane and we had an inside loo. Even now when out in the bush at night I check the wind....Tigers always attack from down wind :) :) 31 c here today and cloudy, I think I am going mouldy. Ron.

Quite an informative thread this.

Dry, dull and not so cold. Tis the last week of January and this year it has zoomed by. Last year I was incredibly depressed so I'm delighted the evenings are slightly lighter and February is just awaiting us.

Hope all is ok in the US, and I think we have the wind and rain from the tail end of Jonas. Tail end of the storm that is.

10c here dry and dull. Your right there Spooky it does seem to have flown by, is it that old age thing that time goes quicker as you age!! If that's the case then shortly a year will be gone in six months 😀
Everyone keep well n safe whatever the weather 💖

Mild and dull.We are expecting the aftermath of the USA snow storm tomorrow, but it will arrive here as heavy rain and wind. The poor souls in the west haven't dried out from the December floods yet.
Ron,loved your story,it was my first laugh of the day.I put the dunny on the shelf above the kitchen sink.It really makes me smile. It's so authentic it even has bird muck dripping off the roof.I love it,but it takes very little to make me happy.

PS. maybe it's not bird muck,perhaps a crohnic Tiger ??? :rof::rof::rof:

I am not sure if time is going faster or if it is just that I spend more of it asleep so the days seem shorter.. It was 31c today and the humidity was 75 percent and that was without rain. It is bad when you can drown just breathing. Same for the rest of the week except it will be three degrees hotter by next weekend.. Ron.

Ron, if you send us a little of your damp air, I will send you a little of our dry air. It is so dry my skin always itches. Even when it snows, it is dry. Makes good powder snow for those that ski tho.
Carol, I don't think I could deal with an outhouse in my kitchen. :rof:
We had a touch of snow here yesterday, but just a few miles to the south (Salt Lake City area) they had a lot more. Today is just overcast slightly, and the typical temps. The inversion is expected to build back up over the next few days.

We are due the remenants of the storm that was on your east coast(i think ). High wind n rain for next few days. I dont mean to be rude but i do not wish to have your cast off's . :rof:

My father always had a saying for every subject. If something was totally useless it was like "A glass door on a country toilet". Our out house did not even have a door just a big lattice u shaped fence across the front. With temps over 30c all summer you needed ventilation not privacy. trouble was it was just another ambush point for those tigers.
It is Australia day today and a public holiday. It is around 32c and cloudy with showers. It will not stop the parties and probably some bad behaviour. Unfortunately you get that with 32c and an esky full of beer. To all the Aussies here , happy straya day ,keep it safe. Ron.

Mild 12c and gusty.Trying hard to rain but wind's preventing it so far.

Sandy, there have been times when I would have appreciated a dunny in every room, regardless of hygiene.

Only 27c today ,overcast, we had some heavy showers yesterday and expecting some more today. Off to the doctors shortly . This oxy taper is a pain. I am down to 20mg morning and night. Constipation as bad as ever, half way mark. It is so annoying having to go to the doctor every two weeks for scripts just to get off something that was prescribed for me. Then off to work .Ron.

Not too bad at all here, though it will get blowy and with showers perhaps. Not cold and I have two daffs nearly out. Hope the wind doesn't floor them though. Sorry you're suffering Ron. Keep it up, you're doing well.

It happens to most of us I got relegated to the "too hard basket today" Saw my doctor , told him about my hip "gee mate that's no good" Told him that I have an annoying facial muscle tic that is getting worse, "hmmm bit stressed are you". Do you like cricket . No .That stopped him bragging about the indian cricket team. Well We are really going well with this oxy taper. I'm going fine you just write scripts. Did you go out and enjoy Australia day ? No I stayed at home and did some work on my boat trailer. Really? = a bit depressed are you ? How is your job going??? ..Arrggghh I could have got more help from the janitor. It's going to rain tomorrow and that suits my mood. Do I bother trying to find a new doctor or do I just keep paying for this guys house and holidays.. End of rant. Ron.

At least it's marginally cooler for you Ron50.I might even have to knit you a pom-pom hat.

Not a bad day here, 12c and blustery. Not good bike weather for a newbie.

Thanks mandy ill be waiting lol we just dont get enough rain and did not yet had rain like we are supposed to makes one so sad

Melbourne "summer" to changeable as normal. 26C and thunderstorms. Forecasting 100% chance of rain between 12 - 4pm.

Flooding in Geelong. Fire trucks heading to Tasmania by Ferry.

27c today and overcast, 35 c by the end of the weekend. Too humid to sleep ,they said that it was 75% humidity at 3 this morning but was not raining. everybody at work including the customers were in a bad mood today. Hope they are not catching it from me....Ron.

Rain and possibly supercell storms tomorrow. We have been advised to batten down the hatches. Probably won't happen but they have to put out the warning. Ron.

6c,dry and blustery.Took the opportunity to get the bikes out.Just did 2 or 3 miles as it's only my 2nd time in (not saying how) many years.

Our wind has been terrible. Which ices everything over.. and it's 40F. So that makes everything even more slick as everything melts. I will take this any day over the -20F we had a few weeks ago though. That just hurts.

mmmmm bacon... i miss bacon.. i haven't been eating a lot of solids lately.. and a cheeseburger with bacon on it sounds like the best thing ever

Im sure you will.. let me know when you get to tuck in to one, i will celebrate with you 🎉 hugs ☺

It felt like the war of the worlds for nearly half an hour last night. We had non-stop lightning strikes. Those nasty ones where the flash and the crash are simultaneous. There is a hill called Panorama right behind me and it seemed to be the target for most of the strikes. We had very heavy rain with it but fortunately not quite enough to flood me. More of the same is forecast for today. Temp is forecast to reach 34c today and 36c by next Wednesday. They have forecast wild stormy weather for a lot of the eastern seaboard. they are expecting rain down south in Victoria , I hope it puts out any fires left in Victoria and Tasmania. Ron.

Tis a bit windy here today!! I hope I don't get blown away on my way to work ☺. Hope it doesn't rain to coz a brolly will be useless!

Expecting 10 to 20 inches of snow later today. I don't mind as long as I don't have to drive on icy roads. Fresh fallen snow can be pretty. ❄❄❄

We had a repeat of last night this afternoon. Wild storms with high winds and heavy rain with with lots of lightning. My ex was working two hundred kliks north of where I live. She had to drive home tonight through dangerous conditions and was held up for two hours just north of home by a fatal road accident that blocked the highway. Never a nice feeling. She made it home safe and we had another smaller storm cell come thru. Same deal tomorrow with 35 c . Everybody at the supermarket was complaining about having to go out into the heat and humidity when they finished shopping. Sometimes I feel like setting up camp in there. Ron.

Stay safe , ron50

Ditto from me Ron,I don't suppose you'd mind the storms so much,if they cleared the air.How on earth you tolerate those temperatures day after day is
mind boggling....

8c and very strong gusty wind.Trees down and trucks overturned in places. It would be a good drying day except it's wrapped around the clothes line.At least that way it's unlikely to blow away. But I'm NOT whinging.:thumleft:

Rainy and windy today. Will probably be pretty slick tonight as it's supposed to get back under freezing now..

Sounds scary Ron.. I'll take my cold temps anyday over that

Another hot humid night , overcast this morning . They have forecast up to 150mm of rain in storms and showers for today. We will see what eventuates. There is a cyclone over on the west coast that is expected to cross as a severe cat three probably just south of the Pilbara. There was one out in the Coral sea last week. We did not see any weather from it but we did receive a huge ground swell. A nineteen year old was drowned on Teehwar beach . He was only in knee deep water but it was so wild he was knocked over and sucked out to sea. Very sad for his family and friends with him. Ron.
