What is YOUR weather like today??

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

We received very little of the forecast rain, inland Qld NSW and Vic got most of it. A lot of the inland rivers are in flood. My health is on a downer again. My pulse normally sits around 75 it was 43 the other morning and in the low fifties on other days. Always something. Ron.

Oh,Diane.I'm exactly the opposite.Hubby says he can feel the hear emanating off me during the night. My Autumn duvet is only 7 tog but is too warm for me.
Another nice day, very unseasonal.Going for a cycle at the coast.

At least I have aircon now Carol. One of the feral kids next door chucked a rock thru one of my windows last week .( School hols here , always a period of activity for the miniature terrorists).Ron.

There's too much of that about Ron,I hope they're going to replace it.:ymad:
At a risk of sounding my age,it was never like that in the old days.Kids got into mischief of course, but we had respect for people and a fear of a clip round the ear from parents, teachers and police.I blame the parents. Those kids will grow up soon enough and move on,be patient hahaha.:sign0085:

Cool 14c and grey....no complaints. The family are away to Shark Bay, (AUS.)camping for two weeks.

Nice day here and just took my campervan to the fire station for charity car wash day. I'm going to have two duvets this winter. I have absolutely no regrets moving away from troublesome children in Bude.

They have eight children under twelve next door. I sometimes wonder if I was a really bad person in a previous life.Ron.

They have eight children under twelve next door. ...

We are lucky in our current neighborhood, really good kids, (even in the family down the street with 10 kids) for the most part. In fact, I think they are better than my generation. The US and world as a whole, however, frightens me how entitled people are nowadays.

Beautiful fall day here.

50f with rain forcast for most of the day 😕

I feel that kids are getting away with far too much and no punishments . They seem to have more rights then we do as parents now. I got a slap if is was naughty and didnt do as i was told. I dont think it did me any harm at all.

Cool 12-14c,raining now.When I opened the bedroom windows first thing,there was a
little woosh of cold air....and so it begins !!! Sorry D.

Major flooding in central western NSW. More rain coming for inland NSW and Victoria plus some follow up rain for central southern Qld. None of it is coming from the east , it is all travelling across Australia from the Indian ocean. Very little of it is reaching the east coast. Ron.

13c and a slight dampness in the air.Looks windy from in here. Not a bike day, so going to a little market town and hours drive away (Morpeth) for a look round the shops and some lunch

Raining as i wait at hodpital gor Gi app that was for 10.10am. Mmmm no change there then. Just had to nip out n re do my parking payment. Outragous that you have to pay parking at a hospital 😠

That's my lot tomorrow Mandy. My neph has shifted digs to a new private hospital down at the coast. It will take me 45 minutes to get there and I am not sure if there is any parking at all there. I am so sick of doctors . One of the major causes of death in Australia is suicide. I am starting to wonder if it is not a sadistic plot hatched by doctors to cull the chronically ill. They sure don't seem to help of heaven forbid ,cure too many.Ron.

Over here as in most countries,we are encouraged to eat healthy, exercise, don't smoke or drink etc.etc. and when you do that and reach a ripe old age, you're accused of "bed blocking" or being a strain on resources if you need help in your later years.Instead of a pension, why don't they just dish out ,suicide pills and keep all the toe rags and young "mothers" with 3 or 4 kids,in the fashion they think they're entitled to....hahaha see what you've started Ron ?.Got out quite nice this arvo.20c. and sunny.

Wow, different places sure behave differently with their cultures. I don't want to add fuel to the fire so I won't say more in this regard, except I'm glad we don't have to pay for parking at hospitals (at least in Utah, I don't know about elsewhere in the US).
I will also add that it is a cooler today, not unseasonably warm like yesterday, so I'm happy as I go out to do a couple errands. Just wish I didn't have to go out, except to do some yard work. Our gardens need some weeds pulled, and I won't have the energy when I am back. Maybe I will just have to sit in the sun on the comfy chairs in the back patio. :)

Bit of a grizzley day here untill sun popped out for a wee while late afternoon.
Paid for an hours parking and had to go and pay for another hour coz i was still waiting. Got to see gi about ten mins after doing that and was in n out in about 5mins. 😕

A really dull day that started with me putting my heating on. So much chill in the air mornings and evenings. Will put my leccy blanket on soon, not to mention a load of blankets on top of my duvets, and the fleecy sheets/pillowcases and the fluffy jim jams too. Carol though, would do without all that and appreciate the nippy weather lol. Oh did I forget to mention thermal vests? They only came off on a few occasions this year.
I shouldn't complain, i'm not floodable, nor do I suffer tornadoes, hurricanes or earthquakes. I should be more grateful.

Not much change here.!5c and grey.It looks like the sun might show up sometime, but it might not.....I agree with D. about how lucky we are to all of you in USA & AUSTRALIA and beyond. We don't often have extremes in the UK we just think we do because we're never prepared.

The biggest storm in half a century hit South Australia today. It was a combination of thunder storm combined with a 100 kph cold front. The entire state suffered an electrical blackout, no power anywhere. I have never seen that anywhere before. Towns cities but never a whole state. Scary stuff. Lots of rain as well and it is heading for the flooded area of NSW and Vic.Ron.

Never a good sign when insurance company send their broker instructions on how to lodge the storm claims before the storm has arrived.

Quite warm here, the storm hasn't hit Melboune yet.

I hope you can dodge the worst of it Catherine. I feel sorry for the folks up in the Riverina and up around Forbes. I fear they may be in the middle of an inland sea for ages. Ron.

Oh, Catherine and Ron, stay safe! You'll be in my prayers.
I have to add for the benefit of those in the UK, that I had never experienced or even heard of a tornado around here until about the time I joined the forum. 🤔 Although Utah is supposedly prone to earthquakes, in my lifetime there has never been serious damage from one anywhere near where I live, I have felt a couple light ones (where most people didn't and no reported damage) tho they say we are due "for the big one" here along the Wasatch front (Salt Lake metropolitan area and a little north and south). Hope I never see it.
Today it is going to get back to about 80°f, again a little too warm for my liking, but not terrible.

Lovely autumn day here , blue skies with some white clouds and a nice breeze blowing the trees .

Same over here T.,BUT, according to the long range forecast we're to expect below zero temps. and four months of snow this winter. They are probably wrong as is usual, but it's a possibility........Time to hibernate with Dave's gang Diane !!!

I dont think I could face a bad winter , have to start looking for ways to get to albufeira if it gets that cold .

Still a mess down in the southern states particularly south Australia and southern central NSW.We are expecting rain up in Qld tomorrow but nothing serious I hope. I fixed my window yesterday so at least I won't leak.. Ron.

Just Woke to a sunny sunday morning. Hoping it stays that way. Got my grandson today so may get to have a walk if it does.

Stay safe everyone :ghug:

Yep, is definitely chillier now. I know that at some point in October we generally get some lovely sunny and warm weather. Mind, that was down in Cornwall. Up in the East Midlands it's rather different, and don't my bones and Raynauds know it, lol.

Ron50, I've been watching you tube channels showing the deplorable weather, and yes a whole state without power. The Aussies have never known anything like it.

tis sunny today and not so chilly this afternoon. Would have liked to have gone somewhere but not too well.

Just to make matters worse I had a PIP assessment in August and have gone from indefinite high rates to scoring not one point. The assessor has contradicted all that she says in her report. She really was the devils daughter of a cow. So humiliating too. I almost dialled 999 to get her out of here and she admitted she could see she was stressing me out. Loads of evidence submitted so now feeling very low and having to get more from Dr and Adult soc care and a highly knowledgeable benefits advocate on my side. Cannot believe how draining this is. Looks like the year long wait for tribunal is going to be a painful one.

Don't let people like her get you down , karma is a "female dog" , what goes around comes around ,

PS wild and windy here in Cobh

More rain for South Australia, Nsw and Victoria as well as Tasmania with flooding in most of those states. Nuisance rain only here in Qld. Bities have been at it again with another shark attack in northern NSW and a little Qld girl has been fighting for life for over three days after being bitten on the fingers by a coastal Taipan one of our deadliest snakes. Ron.The latest news has amended the report to a little boy not girl. still sad. Ron.

calm and bits of sun shine......Diane,I'm so sorry for your upset.Just what you need when you're sick,I don't think !!!......Ron,it's really scary the lethal fauna (and some flora) that you have down there.Scott and family are still up at Shark Bay (Monkey Mia dolphins)'He said it was blowing a hooley on Saturday and was staying put before towing the caravan to another site. You couldn't pay me to camp in Oz.AND I've been watching Wolf Creek.
Hope you're feeling a wee bit better after your recent upsets.

The weather was perfect here in CO yesterday. Cool in the morning, but sunny and warm the rest of the day. I made homemade pizza and then my son and I took our dogs for a walk.

sounds like you had a perfect day ,

Damp drizzly and mild with grey skies at the moment .

Hi all. Sunny so far but chilly.

Diane i heard on news the other day that people on benefits with chronic illness now wont have to keep re applying. Which is good but shame you are having too right now. Hope you can get it sorted hun. Not sure if they will class crohns as one as it varies so much. We can but hope.💕

Yes Carol spring is the time that all the critters get grumpy , the great whites, the snakes and the neighbours kids. Apparently we are in for one of our worst seasons for ticks in years. I hate em , at least you can see the great whites and snakes. Not having much luck with my health my pulse is varying from 88 to 43 from day to day. My neph changed some of my blood pressure meds but nothing has changed. Ron.

Lovely and sunny today. Ron50, you make me laugh with some of the things you say. thank god for this forum. Stay safe though. Am looking to buy a few more Aran cardies on ebay again as winter will be here soon enough. Lots of xmas stuff in shops and even managed to get myself a hedgehog tree ornament, lol. Loving the babies but haven't seen my little Dave for some months. just hoping he's got his own territory and is happy. Love these critters.

16c,sunny and breezy. It would be a good day to get the yacht out of the Marina and sail up the coast, but as I don't have one I'll have to make do with being happy to get the laundry dry outdoors.

Very similar here, only slightly cooler. Also, my ship has already sailed, and I am 800 miles from the nearest ocean. And I will use my electric dryer to dry my clothes.

Well, it's been a nice sunny day today and I haven't had my heating on at all (yet). The only boat I got is if I pierce a stick through a leaf and drop it in the stream. But nature is sweet, and fond memories lol.

Hope you feel all right today, Mandy. I know for me the next day is the worst. Hope results are good too.

Thanks Di..im ok just weary. Not the greatest thing to have to go through but not worst so got to keep smiling 😃
Hope your having a good day hun. 💕

Ah Ron,and so it begins eh ? I think you've only had a day or two of "cool" weather during your winter.I feel really sorry for you cobber.
14c sunshine and clouds here.I wish I could send you some.C.O.D of course.

So it begins Carol. I have already noticed that when I have a nap after I get home from work the neuropathy in my legs and hands burns non stop. It happens every year when it warms up. The little boy who was bitten by the coastal Taipan is out of intensive care but he is permanently blind and has brain damage. The venom stopped his heart for five minutes before they resuscitated him. Poor little kid he was collecting the eggs for his mum. Life really sucks at times. Ron.

Honestly Ron this is not a condemnation, but why would you let your child do that without checking the area was clear ? Me and hubs were discussing it the other day, and came to the conclusion that kids, especially, will take things for granted in daily life. It's absolutely tragic. His parents will be distraught.

I looked up the story of poor little Eli and find it all just so traffic and sad. He is such an adorable little guy too! I wish nothing but the best for all involved.
The weather is about the same here as yesterday. I'm trying to be productive as I can (as soon as I leave here) as I have a massage scheduled for this afternoon and don't want to, won't be able to do much after that. Have you ever tried massage for your neuropathy, Ron? It works wonders for mine, doesn't eliminate it, but goes from intolerable to tolerable. If you can't afford it as sometimes I can't, self massage, esp in the legs and feet, provides some relief too. I've had periods of time where I've gone months without being able to afford it so do it myself, and it's better than nothing.
Looking forward to getting done with chores so I can treat myself to sitting in my backyard with a book before a massage. :ysmile:

weather not too bad here today 14-15C some sun , clouds no rain , that story about the little kid puts things in perspective ,thoughts and prayers to his family .

Weather here has been to boring to mention. It's been samey for a few weeks.Typical UK autumn,no complaints. Mandy you need plenty layers and I don't mean hens !!!

DIANE and RON !!! hope you're both OK fellow weather wingers (sp ?)
you've been conspicuous by your absence

I've hibernated I think.

Sunny today but clouds are suddenly appearing. I've got my thermal vests out and extra layers on. chilblains already. Haven't really been out lately either. Suffering SAD and need a holiday really.

Oh Diane, the winter hasn't started properly yet.I've not been out that much for a few weeks, getting over shingles.Hubby and me are going for a walk to the park over the road.Just doing things gradually to acclimatise to the temperature. hahaha Hope you got your other problem sorted.I really hope our Ron's ok.

I like the dark nights. When it's light and the sun's shining I feel I have to be doing something or going somewhere.I'm quite happy to put the lamps on and snuggle down at this time of year.Equally though,I look forward to springtime after 6 months of snuggling down.It must be my cave man ancestory.

8c,dampish and still.

Warmer but dismal and grey.
Apparently, we in the UK can expect unsettled and stormy weather from now until April.
Do they not know it's WINTER ???.........but it'd going to be worse than last year.

I suspect we had a record warm day for this time of year, it got into the seventies. Absolutely gorgeous sunny day, but I actually prefer slightly cooler. Just slightly.

Have surfaced again. BP and pulse have been dropping thru the floor. Have had some serious gastro flares as well , I think I nearly disappeared down the loo. Inland Australia has been getting a drenching , on the coast nothing. People are having to buy water where I live. Already the bushfires are starting. You can rely on Australia, somewhere is always flooded and somewhere else is dry and on fire. There have been three more shark attacks on the northern NSW coast in the last three weeks , two from great whites and one a bull shark. I am not handling the heat very well , perhaps I should take up surfing in northern NSW. Ron.

Good to hear from you again Ron. Well, sort of. I'm sorry you're having huge health issues, along with Australia's unhealthy weather issues. Sharks are taking a liking to humans down there!

Wishing the UK was experiencing record warm weather. Cold and dull as ever.

Hi Ron,welcome back. We've been worried about you,and by the sound of it,with good reason.:eek2: Hope you feel better soon.Nowt we can do about the weather except have a good whinge and get through it....:ghug:

Amazingly mild and calm.UK.s clocks went back one hour last night, so it will be dark by 5pm today.....Ron,hope you're OK.

Some spring snow expected in the southern states. Dry and 30c+ on the coast where I am .The north has been in the high 30's for nearly a month. The high pressure systems have been passing over central NSW . As soon as they pass over the coast our winds in Qld swing to the north north/west bringing the heat. I am booked in for another colonoscopy this month and I was selected for jury duty in December. Ron.

Ron good luck with the colo mate..i had one a few weeks back. Due an MRI on tues 1st nov.
Oh the joys..take care of yourself Ron. Best wishes 💕💕
Ps. I did jury service many years back.. it was quite interesting .

!0c bright and sunny.........Ron,if you feel you'd be unable to do Jury duty, and Docs letter will get you off.You won't know how long the trial will be or what it's going to be about.
I know there are more than a few issues I wouldn't want to listen to or make a judgement on.

It is funny a lot of us look at voting and jury duty as a chore. I tend to think of it as one of the privileges of living in a free and democratic country. I don't mind doing my bit for keeping the law as fair as possible. The courts are air conditioned , big plus. They tell us a supercell might form over us tomorrow , more extreme weather. Hope it cools things down a bit , the heat is playing merry hell with my neuropathy.. Ron.

I've never looked at voting as a chore, well, perhaps until this year. Again on the other hand your comment helped put things back into perspective. I'm just hoping our country stays a free country. I'm finding times quite unnerving over here.
As for jury duty, I'll save that for another day.
Oh, the weather? The wind howled all night and we had rain off and on. It seems to have cleared up and we should have sunny skies for the rest of the day.

Got up to 15c this afternoon.Lots of folk were coatless and making the most of it.Temps will drop tomorrow.
Ron.I wholely agree with your sentiments,it's just once having taken my oath, I would spend the trial worrying about my innards.I would hate to have to raise my hand at a crucial point and ask if "I could leave the room" like we had to at school.
I can understand the air-con being a lure though.

sunny and warm. A really nice end to October.

A super cell, Ron. Stay safe..

Good luck with the MRI tomorrow, Mandy.

Sandy, sounds like you have autumn there now.

The temps dropped too much for the storm to get high enough to form a super cell. Still we got some heavy rain and a town just north bot golfball sized hail. Same deal tomorrow afternoon. The temps have been close to 40c all week up at the cape around Weipa. Not pleasant. We are expecting 33c on the coast on Sat. Ron.

Boy oh boy am I glad we are getting away from the hot weather. Even with a couple recent record breaking warm days, yes we are definitely into autumn here. My constant companion Mr. Arthur-Itis doesn't like the cooler weather, but the rest of me does. It is another blustery day here. It warmed up again yesterday with beautiful blue skies for all the cute trick-o-treaters (I know, halloween not celebrated many places but the US, and then often only regionally, usually in suburban type neighborhoods which we definitely are in), but we just kept our porch light off, had no pumpkins or jack-o-lanterns on the porch, which is a sign that no candy available at our house (we ate it), and ignored the couple knocks at our door. I'm sure we are considered the scrooges of Halloween, but that's just the way it is this year. Back to blustery, like my mood, and my body as of late.

3c and dull (ish). An old saying used to be that "if there's enough blue in the sky to make a pair of sailors britches, then the sun will appear"......will get back to you later on that one.

I am with you sandy I had two options , turn of the lights and hide or buy a bowl full of laxettes and invite the miniature terrorists from next door in, lucky for them I chose to turn the lights off. Australia has adopted Halloween big time or at least the current generation has . The older generation can't get past the fact that we have been telling our kids for years not to take lollies from strangers. The air dried out today so no storms but they are expected over the next couple of days. Hot weekend (temps only) coming. Ron.
