Had 5 days of settled fine weather.torrential rain all thurs night but lovely again today.Still got the summer duvet on the bed.Only putting the heating on for an hour in the evening if needed,it's a long winter.Trying not to wear winter coats,I get sick of the sight of them by April.

Sunshine and showers,a bit nippy, about 9degs now.Just read in the Sunday paper that there's been snow in Sydney.......Is that true?

11-30am.grey and miserable. They say sand storms from the Sahara on way mid week, then snow by Friday. They're not always right so fingers crossed

If it was the other way round then we might have had blood red snow! very cold in cornwall, gloomy and yes, expecting sahara sand then perhaps, but i don't think, snow. takes a lot for snow to hit bude, the salt wind puts pay to it generally.

Supposed to hit 80 here today and sunny! The last two days, then hurricane Sandy is moving in and we could get significant snows, depending on the way she blows!!!:stinks:

Frost here this morning, sunny and 15C (59F) here today - looks like we'll get what ever is left of the hurricane next week.

Looks like its time to batten down the hatches for those on the east coast between Washington and Maine - New York looks to be in line for a direct hit.

Friday was gorgeous 75 and sunny. Saturday is supposed to bring rain and 54 as a hig temp. Then hold onto your hats, Sandy is coming!!!!!!!!:ywow:

2-45pm.......we've had it all.Woke up to snow on the roofs, albeit a thin layer, had heavy showers of rain, sleet and hail, then bright sunshine.very cold, but not as cold as it's gonne be I expect, this winter.Milder tomorrow but rain forcast.Does anybody want a dog?

It got up to 14 C today although the wind picked up about 5 this afternoon. Managed to get the patio furniture in to the garage for the winter before the storm hit along with cleaning the garage, washing and waxing 2 cars and cutting back the perennials in the flower beds.

This is crazy! We expected snow, but not like this! I'm just glad the power is still on. We were ready, though! My car won't go in this mess, but my boyfriend's is fine. That's a plus! Hopefully it'll be cleared up by tomorrow so I can get to work safely! It's still going pretty good now, though. As long as my power stays on, I can deal with it. :)

We didn't get much wind. Have all gotten a lot of damage from it? Hope you're doing well!

We had some wind last night but today just slightly. It is a mix of rain and snow now. I have a feeling it may turn to snow tho. We live in the ridges and get it good sometimes, but not like you guys! So glad u still have your power too. That is the main thing. I prayed that more than anything, to please let the power stay on and he did. I will pray that for you too Sarah! Let me know later how it is there,OK? Thanx sweetie!:ghug:

Chicago near the lake shore is beginning to feel the effects of the hurricane. Our temperatures have dropped, winds have picked up significantly and could get as high as 55mph. The city is monitoring the waves along the lake shore to determine safety of the drive and whether the road should be closed.

Sounds rough, but it is nothing compared to what others are going through right now. My heart goes out to everyone along the east coast that has been affected by the hurricane. It's just plain crazy what mother nature is capable of sometimes.

Hope u guys don't get hit hard there. The enormity of that storm just amazes me! The fire whistles have been blowing on and off for awhile. I know the Loyalhanna has flooded over the main highway here and gone clear into town. That hasn't happened as far back as I remember!:yfrown:

Much of the effect from the hurricane is limited to near the lake shore and unfortunately I happen to live a few blocks from the lake in a ground level apartment.

Keeping my fingers crossed it won't get worse than it already is but the bulk of the hurricane mess won't hit us. Just some heavy winds, high waves and flood warnings we are being told. However nothing compared to the east. (maybe even some snow...not ready for that yet!)

Stay safe 723crossroads!

We're still doing alright here! The snow turned into rain, and is supposed to change back late tonight. There's still a good foot of the stuff sitting on my car, but I guess it's not too bad once you venture out (although I live in Charleston, and in a fairly wealthy area that's usually salted very quickly, so it's kind of strange). Power is still on, and starting to expect it will stay that way! As long as the temperature doesn't drop too far tonight and freeze all this slush, all should be well! The low for tonight is supposed to be 33°.

How's everyone else doing?! :)

Just a bit of wind (about 20 mph) and rain (1 inch) here - we are a ways north of the storm

It's really warm outside now 14C (57F)

We have been getting snow here but it isn't sticking. The low tonight is 38 but it's snowing! Glad you aren't getting anymore for now. Hope it stays that way. Freezing now could make it all much worse. I have a Dr.s appt. Tomorrow so I'll check in before I go. Hopefully all will be ok with you!!!:rosette2:

Everything seems to be good around here! Roads aren't slick, just wet. It's not snowing anymore now; not sure if it did during the night, but I don't think so. Made it in to work safely; seemed like everyone else was doing fine, too. Only bad thing... I don't have water! Hopefully it will be back on before I get home! :)

Good luck at your doctor's appointment :)

Sarah,
hope u get ur water back! Horrible not having water. Been there! It was snowing huge flakes this morning, but again not sticking.Still is. I have Dr.s apt. a good 40 min. away and am hoping for no problems. Just got new tires on front so that should help. Hope Sandy gets the heck outa here soon! But you can stay Sarah!!!

It was ok in New York today. A few clouds....everyone thought it would be thunderstorms, but it turned out ok with sunlight breaking through at points of the day. Looking around at the aftermath of the storm has been interesting to see. So much destruction has taken place, and I do feel for the people who lost a lot. I do not know what New York would do if we had a category 2, 3, or 4 come through here because there are so many areas that are shut down or have limited resources with Sandy that passed through. It will probably be another week or two before electric is restored.

Weather ok, when think of what happening elsewhere.

Today, cold and windy, 14C. Yesterday 34C.

Water came back on yesterday around noon! I showered on my lunch break. :p

I think we're back to typical weather for the season. The snow has melted everywhere except - I have no idea why - the road I live on. Yesterday the ground was still completely covered, but before I even got halfway down the hill, it was all gone!

Just rain now!

Cloudy, mild and touch of smoke...

There is a humungous bushfire east of us, but quite a distance away thank goodness. Seems a couple of the property owners decided to give themselves a fire break between them and the national park. Only problem is...it got away on them! It's perimeter is 620kms! :yfaint:

NOT raining finally. It's still cold, about 40. We run our electric heaters instead of the furnace as much as possible. We have a really old furnace
here and the landlord is not voluteering to buy a new one. Our gas bill 2 winters ago for 1 month was $259.00:ymad: We went to the electric as much as possible.

7C(45F) and partly cloudy mid afternoon. Managed to get the lawn cut and lime spread, the last of the fall outdoor chores done. Going down to 1C (34F) tonight - prime rib in the oven

Can I come for tea hawkeye? Except it's breakfast here.

Sunny 6-25C, Currently 8C. I need slippers.

unfortunately no. i love to watch snow flurries, but rarely get it as we're on top of the cliffs in Bude, so a bit salty and windy. 5 miles inland is a different story. we do get ice though.

Am expecting a court case anyhow, now that will be embarrassing exposure, won't it? damn crohns! Dull day out, and inside too. Am freezing! hot water bottles and heating on seems to be the medicine of the day lol.

-2C and sunny here this morning. Was out of town for most of the day - it only got up to about 4 Celsuis where I was.

sunny this morning, but COLD!! We went down into the freeze zone last night. Bye-bye flowers! My mums will survive I think!:heart:Hi of 43 today.
