What is YOUR weather like today??

At least you're keeping your sense of humour Ron...I had a real good laugh and so did Les. Did you have a "pool party" for your birthday ?
I hope you get some sort of result from the inspection,,,,,,,,Remind us of next years birthday in good time and I'll send you a "sponge" cake x

-4C Cloudy. We received 20 cms of heavy high water content snow, which then clung to the trees and brought many down. I got very lucky with the top of the tree that missed my truck but the branches brushed some snow off of the hood, it was close to piercing the hood. Trees down everywhere, and the power is still out after over 24 hrs. Generator has gotten a good run. Ron, I hear your frustrations; a little sarcasm goes a long way to take the edge off.

-5C Sunshine. The storm moved on and the generator is still running as the power outage is 50 hours long now. Power crews are making progress, but there are a lot of trees down. This tells me that I will have a lot of work to do, some of which will have to wait until the snow melts later in the spring. The cabin trail will have to wait. A lot of trees snapped off half way up like the one by my outhouse that landed at the door entrance. I wouldn't be typing this if it had hit me.

-8C Clear blue skies. I was out refueling the generator, I had a bit of a shock when I looked up and saw a young man standing there watching me. He was from the power company and was checking the line. Its not often someone will walk all the way in, he said there was a tree on the line they had to cut away. Power came back on after supper, now the gradual cleanup. Most of it will have to wait until spring when the snow pack is gone. I'll clear the one by the truck and the outhouse as they block the way. Enjoy the ride Chris.

Still a tad cold, some showers today. Took a bus journey to my local town and realised i have more issues than i thought. I had read that my brain damage might play havoc with recognising places and people. Thank God i was on a bus. my ticket told me i wasn't lost although i can't recognise the road much at all now as i used to, bit panicky. It's a scariness i will have to endure.

Rainy and windy again with a high of 8c.

Thanks, Buff... Will do! I'm glad it was a pleasant surprise, at least after the initial shock... At least the power is on now, even though there is so much more work ahead. Stay strong brother!

Huge hugs, Diane. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. I really feel for you buddy. XX

Take good care everybody, I wish you all the best.

Sounds good Chris, back on the iron horse. Sorry about the truck roof, Buff. Make 'em pay! I'm just about to sell my car and get that licence back to DVLA. Not feeling good at all, my sleep is so erratic now. Struggling badly and having to put in a complaint about adult social care who should be attending me daily. Can't get hold of them. living on smash potato and canned fish at the moment. Can't manage kettle nor peg feed liquid pump. Just trying to take it easy and do things very slowly now.

its sunny out at yhrmoment, the birds are still lovely but i'm struggling to get along the road as my sight fails and tiredness gets the better of me. Not sure about covid numbers but holiday flights are cancelled with staff off sick. It's still obviously going around badly and probably new variants they don't want to tell us about. Will it ever end?

I really feel bad for you Diane.I don't know what to advise as I'm sure you know better than I do what help you need. unfortunately. The whole country has gone to Hell but too much is being blamed on the virus....and now we have the Easter holidays looming !!!Make sure to take ID and health info, if you go out......10c but a really cold wind today.Higher temps for the weekend though

0C 2 cms of snow. I'm simply hibernating, not much one can do at this time of year, its messy. Take it easy Di, not much else that I can say. Its a world of hurt right now, with covid, the war, and simply the time of year. Glad you got a well deserved ride Chris.

Sunnier and warmer today. god,i wish i could get some sleep. Without sleep everything seems to take so much longer. I''m still exhausted but we all know exhaustion through crohns. i sat n the garden this lunch time, though i didn't take food out. Don't want to attract flies yet. We've those to look forwards to. Thank God we don't have black fly, Buff. Nice weather Carabop, i think we are epecting better soon ourselves in the UK. Still got thermals on though lol.

Not quite as much rain as we have been having but still showers most days. The ground is getting sour from being constantly wet. South of WA is copping the rain at the moment with over 120mm around Esperance overnight. We are expecting a wet Easter. Still lots of Covid around and the flu season is really ramping up. Had my flu shot last week. Ron.

1C gray. The forecast is for both rain and snow and a lot of it, possibly 50 cms. I'll take the snow over rain for the reason that the meter thick snow pack poses a serious flooding risk if this turns into a rain event. The rain would make it impossible for me to access my vehicle if the thick snow pack turns to mush and cannot support my weight. In any case, I went in and stocked up on supplies, and I brought firewood into the house. Now its time to hunker down and see what comes of it.

Woke up to 20 cms of fresh snow and a power outage. -1C. The generator is getting another good run, outages are widespread like last week's storm. Glad this came as snow, rain would have made a serious situation by making the walkways impassable and flooding in low level areas. We came off easy, a little snow maybe an inconvenience, but won't harm anyone.

The floods and landslides in Africa are shocking. i know they can have terrible floods at times but that and all the deaths are awful at the moment. Sick humour, i wish they had dinghies to save themselves. so many dead.
Lovely and sunny today, quite warm in the sun too. We only have birds coupling up at the moment, but live cams on the internet does reveal nest building going on around the whole country. Not seen so much in the way of twig collecting yet, but then obviously i've not really been out much. I'm going to sit in the garden over the bank holiday. No buses here and no driving. But a warm sunny garden is enough for me as i can't cope with my sight and being amongst moving crowds. Enjoy Easter everyone.

14c and no wind for a change....we have stayed at home today and pottered on,I cooked / baked 3 days meals for Les and he hung some baskets and troughs out back. We'll have a walk tomorrow so will have plenty to whinge about re; locals and visitors clogging the streets and coast.

I'm doing ok, but not too much. just pacing things at a slower rate. I'm also doing a ton of Reiki and meditation too. feeling better for it. Got some washing on the line too yesterday. Was absolutely lovely in the garden. Sun is out this morning again. I will sit out and read for a bit, might even get a bit of skin on display for the free D3 Still got the thermals and winter woollies out and keeping them on probably to August knowing me and our weather.

Roads have seen their heaviest use since before covid pandemic, hope they all enjoy themselves, but i'm not joining them in their throngs. Mind, we don't have buses in the village holidays and Sundays and not driving i'm rather obliged to stay in.

Does sound like a winter wonderland, Buff. Hope you get some good final skiing in over the long weekend. Nice kids are out doing summer sport, chris. Hope you and Les get at least a walk out without harassment from the hoards of beachgoers and holiday makers.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend one and all.

weather is much the same as yesterday and it looks settled for the foreseeable,,,,we had ride on the bikes and it was OK but I was a bit nervous in heavy traffic,Alas.it's unavoidable nowadays especially on weekends and bank holidays.
Just read in the Sunday paper that the price of a pint could rise to £7 !!!!! That's beer of course not milk,No wonder folk are buying discounted slabs from the supermarkets to drink at home,They were advertising 3 slabs holding 12 cans each for £20 last week.Mind you it's a bit hyperthetical as I don't drink now and Les only has a whiskey or two at night.

Boozing in this nation is entirely encouraged by such stupid prices. If we put booze prices up the govt could possibly reduce other costs of living such as food which has gone up astronomically. Maybe the govt wants everyone hooked so as to keep the coffers topped up as well as the general public. Can't believe what people have in their supermarket trollies. Too much too cheap is always going to cause problems. Mind, our govt does like to party in gardens and offices. Except theirs i believe i discounted at our expense. Makes you mad, doesn't it?

-7C Cloudy, expecting snow later. Yesterday was perfect for late season skiing. I went further up the trail than I have done all winter, I had some issues waxing as the wax was too sticky, but it got better the further I went. Its hard to get the waxes to work in these milder conditions, but it was pretty good and allowed me to go the distance. I want to see if I can ski the full length of the trail today. The deep snow pack covers all the irregularities of the ground making for good conditions.

-1C 3 more cms of snow to freshen up the trail. Yesterday I skied the full distance including one side trail which I may say was one I probably didn't need. It was beautiful and satisfying, by the time I got back my body was used up. I'd like to go again today, but I am worn, and the temperature may make waxing difficult.

So pleased you made the whole ski Buff, sounds good and exhilarating lets hope it's the absolute last one you do, but i would love or you to e njoy a spring, although i suppose that marks wood chopping season for you plus all the maintenance on the vehicles and cabin. I sat in the sun for a little while but tiredness forces me in and to sleep for a time. I don't so much mind as my sleep has been so erratic, i now get headaches too. I did get more stuff put into boxes for charity, but i missed the refuse collection, simply forggot it, so now i have 3 weeks of rubbish and another 3 weeks to put into the bin. I think i might die in a landfill site lol. Oh well, it won't be my problem. But it is nice to sleep. Unfortunately each time i awake my eyes are a little worse. I'll try and contact the hospital tomorrow, but i am somewhat afraid of them not letting me out to finalise everything.

More rain on the way and 30c tomorrow the wind has turned to northerly, always hot and humid. We are in the run up to an election. Both the major parties have been lying so much that it is almost impossible to chose between them . Either way there isn't much chance for the planet or us. Ron.

We've always had that problem with our political parties. Think most nations do these days, but at least we don't have dictators like Putin being a problem. They do care for their prestige entirely and their careers matter to them far more than us. I don''t think they care for their people much as their job is relatively short term. They are all in it for themselves.

The weather is colder today and with rain. I have to get to the chemist only and will do that shortly, rain permitting. Not much sun either although i have enjoyed the sunnier days. No sitting in the garden for me today.

Sunshine and 21c out the back, which faces south,Cool at the front fhough which suits me better,,,,start of the "whinge"season hahaha,,,,, BUT frost is on the cards later in the week, I've finished potting up the hanging baskets and tubs so they'll have to take a chance......Chris,you OK my friend ?

-5C Sunny with a fresh wind. I hear you about government, its not any different here. In a sense we have a dictatorship at the federal level. What free country would be raising recessive taxes on something as essential as fuels during and post pandemic when so many are in financial difficulty? We had record levels of people standing in line at the soup kitchens for an easter dinner. It would be a great day for a long ski, but its off to the clinic for day surgery for maintenance of my stoma.

Sunny again here and not too cold either. Ichallenged the bus again today for some shopping. Felt a little more confident about it but the bus seems to vibrate my neck and brain and the supermarket trolley was also a challenge. then i put it in my own shopping trolley and got the bus home. Feeling pleased i managed it with a little more care and attention this time. I've struggled with the trolley and bashed people and their trolleys and displays previously so was really dreading it. I purposely focused hard on my peripheral vision too. i do hope to get a carer soon though but will also try online shopping at some point. Get it delivered i think. Just awaiting my sack o bird food to arrive, i've had to be stingy over the Easter holidays because i forgot there would be no deliveries. Today i thought i bought a fruit cake (from Aldi) for a treat, turns out it's a bloody whiskey cake. Lets see if they like it or lump it. Glad to hear you're ok Chris, sounds cold still. We're having warmer weather at the moment, mind, you'll soon get a good hot sunny spring and summer too. Hope you and the iron horse love it and get out plenty.

0C some light snow. They held off on the surgery and did some prep work instead, burning off more skin tags growing in the stoma area. The procedure burns like a blow torch held against one's belly for about 10 hours afterwards. Yesterday we had some more snow, I went for a ski. More snow last night. Its been a slow spring across much of the country this year, but it makes up for it with good ski conditions.

-2C Cloudy. Things could get real interesting as they have posted rainfall warnings. Going to bring in wood, and get ready for some messy weather, this one could cause flooding and major washouts as its unlikely to come as snow. I will ask the clinic next time if they can apply some kind of pain killer to the area, that procedure is miserable and it has to be done on a regular bases.

Sounds like that rainfall could melt all the remaining snow, Buff. Hope it doesn't get too bad around your way. Are you on a slope, or hill that can wash water away from you? Let's hope it's not so bad, but spring has to come for you too. Yeah, do ask for a more humane procedure. I don't think i'd want to go through that too much myself, but i don't have a stoma, and that i remember my mum never had that done, though she did have hers or around 46 years.

Dull, cold and damp out for most of the day, now a little sunnier but a chill wind.

Really feeling incredible nausea today, yesterday wasn't too good either. Hoping tomorrow ill be better.

Really quite chilly this morning and will be again tonight. I've wrapped up warm and no signs of being able to put the thermals and woollies away yet. I've still got leggings on under my jeans too. Gotta keep the heating bill down somehow. Shall not be venturing out at all today i think. I shall just read and potter about and take some more rest.

A nice warm day but there's a really cold breeze off the sea again, We had a long slow walk down to the coast and back along the river, although we really only live about a mile inland from the sea.Hundreds of folk eating outside of pubs and cafes and complaining about the breeze,I expect it cooled their fish and chips.

Tis very breezy here too. My neighbours fence has developed a bloody annoying creak, unfortunately its right outside my bedroom window. Good news, i have hedgehog poo out the front so i've put a hedgie house out there and will start feeding it and hope to espy it this evening. The thought of cold fish and chips is laughable. must say i've had a cold meal or takeaway on beachfronts myself. We soon learn if we live ner the coast.

1C gray some light rain. Down right ugly outside, cold wet south easterly wind blowing and some thunderstorms last night. Temperatures didn't rise much allowing the rain to go through the snow without causing a major mess.. yet. It could still as there is more wet weather to come. Making a pot of chicken soup, a good day to simply hole up and hibernate.

4C foggy and gray. A messy day. That's a rough patch to go through Chris, plumbing, and now a bad back. I hope it was the clean side of plumbing and nothing to do with pulling up the pot. It reminds me of a time when I was much younger; my nephew was still quite little when he dropped his ball into the toilet at my father's place. We didn't know what was plugging up the toilet. He watched me pull up the toilet and found the ball. The young lad simply stated 'wouldn't it have been easier just to buy another ball'. It was priceless. Today he is a middle aged family man himself with three kids, how time flies.

Not much change here, fine. but still a cool breeze off the sea, Been to the hospital for a blood test re: methalazine tablet intake. They can cause liver probs,There's always something that cancels out the good affects of meds eh? Hope you're feeling better Chris, well all of you whingers of course.

Was actually quite cold today. My fingers froze indoors. Took a while for them to come around from their numb state. Put washing out and so it rained, obviously. I slept a good two hours this afternoon too. So the washing got really wet again. Haven't caught sight off the hedgehog yet, but i'm determined to. Today i received, finally, an appointment for a neurosurgeon. It's not too long to wait. I'll be asking him to put me in touch with a neuro ophthalmologist (eye specialist) too. Sick of my colliding with everything.
Chris, sincerely hope the back improves soon. Back issues aren't nice at all.

Not doing too good at the moment. For some time I have been concerned that the neuropathy is creeping up from my legs into my bowel and bladder. I am definitely starting to see signs of fecal and urinary incontinence. I'm not sure that I want to go down that path. I will definitely have to give my future some careful thought. Ron.

Hey, Ron, i know exactly what you're going through. Since my fall things have very much gone downhill. About a month ago i wrote humourously in my diary that i'm going blind right before my very eyes. It is really bad today and i think i might have taken my last walk out to the village shop. I'll probably die at home if i don't have a siezure and end up in hospital. I just need to get every last thing apart from a few clothes off to charity, as i can't see things much so why not clear up and clear out. I'll be able to go once all my stuff is gone. Hope i survive until the charities can collect as i don't have anyone to clear up. Neighbours would just rummage and take knowing them. I'm pleased i have my cats gone before me.

Don't know if i'm going to be able to read and type many days longer. So if i'm not on much in the coming days, just know i'm thinking o whinging about the weather and thinking of you all. It's awful these days knowing it's not going to be easy at the end, but hey, we all have to go at some point. I do have a stash of some meds to take if it becomes desperate. Not sure i want to go downwards with a bunch of strangers that i can't even see, especially as i won't manage to look after myself in any way. I always thought that i wouldn't die with the NHS, it's so bloody impersonal and embarrassing.
Anyway, it's actually turned out sunny today which has helped the spirits lift. The birds were singing beautifully as i cut through the woods to get to the shop. Thank god it wasn't a typical British day of cloud, grey skies and drizzle and cold wind. A final walk in that would have been miserable.

I might be able to chat tomorrow if i can see enough. Wishing you all well if i don't catch up later. Take care and know i'll be sitting in bright light some place else after this without miserable weather and health.
Bye for now,
Diane

Big Hugs to both of you Di and Ron. Don't know what to say, one thing, this place will not be the same anymore. Everything is in a world of hurt, the first thing I read this morning are the growing fears of WW3. I am going to take advantage of the weather and go for a long ski through the quiet trail this afternoon. The messy storm in the end turned cold and left some fresh new snow making for good late season ski conditions, rare for this time of year. -7C light snow.

Oh,bloody hell Di./ Ron.....don't know what to say to make a difference to you both....Hopefully you're both just having a bad day and will rally round tomorrow. Please don't do anything rash. You've both come so far.

8c and dry, been for a bike ride which I wasn't expecting and lightened my hair so might have to wear a hat for a while.I look like Pamela Anderson,,,,,just the hair mind you

Still here. sight still bad and a bit more wobbly. I hope i will keep logging on daily so as to let you all know my state of body, lol. Bloody chilly here again, i've had to put the heating on again this morning for a bit. Seems to be no warming up in Britain at the moment apart from a couple of days over easter. Could really do with a couple of weeks of solid heat and sun. Would make such a differnce to everyone in the UK i think. We all come out of hiding and chiinwag happily. Don't think it's happening any time soon.

cold here too Di.Although I don't do well in the hot weather a bit of warmth would't hurt.I'm looking forward to wearing Ts and being sockless, that's about as far as I go with summer clothes,I haven't worn a skirt or a dress or sandals for more than 20yrs and only for an hour or two at that....Glad you managed to show up today,I'm really worried about both you and Ron,Keep your chin up and get through one day at a time both of you xx

-5C Sunny. Its okay to be wobbly Di as long as the lights are still on. Cold here too, it went down to -10C overnight. I went skiing yesterday and had to change plans and use the alternate trail to the lake west of here when I realized that I was on very thin ice. The heavy rains earlier raised the water levels in the bog which froze and looked lovely with the new snow, but extremely dangerous. I turned around and went for a long ski to the other lake and got some sun on my face.

Feels like winter is continuing here too. I'm frozen, i keep putting the heating on for a while, my woollies and thermals are't keeping me warm at all. I've got numb fingers and toes at the moment. Just waiting for some proper warmth to happen outside so i can wear different clothes for a change. I'm sick of my arran wollies and thermals.

-5C Sunny with a cold damp wind. Expecting mixed precipitation over the next few days. Hopefully it will hold off until I have had my day surgery appointment done, I don't want to have any more delays. I went for another ski yesterday and have a good tan on my face. This year winter is hanging in there.

i'm pleased we're not that cold, Buff, but i could do with a warm up. I still have the electric blanket on to warm my bed though. Do you have to have another day surgery? I hope they use numbing medications this time. I don't have those procedures at all and i'm grateful. Had a lady from Adult Social Care come around today, she's going to get in touch with the sight impairment advisory team and have them get in touch with me. I'm sure that will help. Tomorrow i've got a social worker coming around to see if they can help. Hopefully they can help with shopping and a bit of meal preparation and some housework. It really would help. I'm simply not managing to get things done. It's turned out sunny late afternoon.

You deserve a helping hand. I really wish I could help you myself... You're a damn good friend! Once again... HUGE HUGS XX

It's better than yesterday at least. Still had heating on mind, It's also becoming sunnier this afternoon.
Had a social worker visit and hopefully i'm going to get some help at home and with shopping. Feeling really queasy today. Mind, would like to see Ron show up. Sincerely hope he's ok. Not sure he has relatives either.

As Di. sez, in a roundabout way,Are you ok Ron ? and Chris, you've been a bit quiet lately. Is your back better or are you having trouble elsewhere, non medical ? Not prying mind you just wishing you both well.....Di, AT LAST !!! something positive's happening.
15c clear blue sky and no wind ,so perfect for me.Been for my annual review at docs (not gastro),seems I've lost 7;pounds since last time,Not surprising really as my diets crap,

Thanks all for your concern. To be brutally honest I am not ok. My medical problems are not improving. I've tried to keep on top of things by trying to pre-empt problems but problems like incontinence are very hard to anticipate it's not in the nature of the problem. Like you Di I am no longer game to drive ,I am seriously considering getting rid of my car, it has a few problems at the moment and I am not up to doing the repairs myself. Inflation is hitting hard and the necessities of life are getting very expensive. The price of our coal is tied to the international market where it is popular. As a result our power costs are expected to double in the next six months. Unfortunately the problems I have pale into insignificance compared to the problems facing the world at the moment. Russia ,China and North Korea are all loose cannons and with the range and power of their weapons no one is safe. We are all aware of the problems but nobody has solutions including the UN which appears to be as toothless as its predecessor the league of nations. If the world was a business we would declare it morally bankrupt and appoint an administrator. It is really hard to feel ok. Hugs to all, Ron.

Glad to hear from you Ron. My car must go too. Battery is flat now and somehow i have to sell it and someone will want to test drive it. I don't fancy going out with them. Both neighbours are completely rubbish drivers but it has to go. Licence too. Not happy, but hopefully i can get the bus pass soon. My social worker is going to sort it for me.
Looks like it's going to be a nice day today so i'm slowly wading through washing and still sorting stuff. We have a bank holiday coming up and i forgot to prepare for it so i might pootle along to the village shop if i can muster some energy.

I've been trying melatonin as it's good for hormone driven cancers and i can honestly say i've not had diarrhoea since! Typical, i have found a solution at this late age and with really crap health. Murphy's law as we would say.

Haven't had to put heating on at all this morning so could be first day o of saving money on gas. Ron, can't understand why your coal is getting expensive. Is it because china isn't buying at the moment? I thought Aus had loads of coal. Can't they be a bit understanding of the standard of living crisis? Govts just want money, not to alleviate the suffering of its citizens. Sad state of affairs these days.

7C Very mushy, and the rain warnings are posted again. I went in for day surgery only to be told the surgeon was unavailable. This happened last week as well, now the appointment time has been moved up to June. Our healthcare system is an inefficient mess and extremely expensive in terms of the taxes demanded from us by our stubborn government system. Grocery prices have gone up further from the week before, prices go up on a weekly bases it seems. The roads are in terrible condition full of dangerous unmarked potholes, and there are no workers filling them in. They have snow removal crews running about out all winter long removing snow before it even gets a chance to hit the roads, yet they will allow the potholes to grow, workers absent without anyone filling them in or even bother putting up warning signage. I would not want to drive at night in these conditions.

We'll all be thinking of you Chris, like we're family here. Hope the break is a good one and not bad health. I'm hopefully on here daily so you know i'm still kicking around. I don't even keep in touch with family like i do with this thread. It's a good thread.

Colder again today, not that i'm going out at all. Sorry your healthHore system is as up the creek as ours Buff. Hope the wait isn't too painful. I'm counting down the days to meet neurosurgeon on Thursday. Maybe he can stop the deterioration of my sight.

Are you sure you don't live in the UK Buff ? It sounds like you do.Sorry you missed your surgery AGAIN........

Did you get an email from me Di,? I found one I sent recently in my junk box.Tried again and it wouldn't send.It was just to say your request was no bother.

Warmer again this morning. Brighter too. My eyes aren't good today and i see movement in my left eye when there isn't any. Peculiar. i'm still a bit woozy too. I'm remaining hopeful the neuro surgeon can do something for me but brain cancer is a bit of a no hoper. I'm not giving up hope though. I did get your email Carol and i did respond. Not sure it's working well though. this site always takes an age to load. It's lovely that we're into May now, probably the worst of spring and winter are well behind us.

Whitsun Bank Holiday and an overcast, cool 12c. Laughable really as banks are getting really thin on the ground these days.
Apparently we're getting a nine day heat wave very soon,,,,will that be classed as the UK summer ?

Di., have you been dx'ed with brain cancer ? and when is your hospital appointment ?
Ron,are you still down in the dumps mate ? Sending you kind thoughts.
