What is YOUR weather like today??

Things have settled down, the cat is well, and I am not making so many trips to the outhouse, but still have loose output. I had a dandy afternoon at the lake, its warmer as it got to 24C, but not that summer heat I'm looking for that kills off insects and puts the warmth into my bones. Maybe this afternoon, I may even try out the canoe, now that I can lift more weight. That hairy friend; I may have some resemblance after a lousy night when my hair and beard is a mess first thing in the morning. 15C partly cloudy.

Yesterday was a milestone post surgery. After lunch I put the canoe into the water and spent the afternoon on the lake. While I was out I saw a duck with chicks, and a deer standing on the shoreline, the weather was about ideal; temps in the mid 20's, calm winds and partly cloudy. So far no new pains after it all. The new dock made things much easier getting in and out of the canoe. 15C Mainly cloudy.

we all need days like that.bobbing about on the water in peace watching the wildlife,,,,,it does the heart and soul a power of good.
warm and getting warmer here....health alerts going out on the news......but it won't be near as bad as the middle east,Turkey and India catastrophies that's for sure....

I may go out in the canoe again today as the weather looks good in the upper 20's and take advantage of it as the rest of the week looks cooler and unsettled. My body is pretty much back to normal in terms of doing things, I cut some of the lawn yesterday until I got rained out. But I do feel different internally, as if I am running with fewer parts and energy levels are not what they used to be, but hey it works. 15C sunny.

Hey Bufford, great that you are getting out more ,I find the same with energy levels ,but still pushing myself a bit , hope the weather keeps up for you

Happy to hear things are improving / becoming more manageable for all y'all

... hit 109* at an indicated 1% humidity yesterday

I was thinking I wasn't making the trip to the bathroom as much as usuall, but I think with all this heat I might be
... exhaustipated ...
(
too damn tired to give a shit )

There was no majestic ship, but rather just me in the canoe yesterday on the lake, a dandy afternoon in the upper 20's cruising the lake with a cooler in my hand, away from the biting flies waiting upon the shore. When it was time to leave, at the dock the flying blood sucking syringes made their presence known in no mistaken terms, I was well motivated to keep it moving. 25C Sunny but windy.

I'll take that any day Buff...apart from the flies.I had my fill of the murderous midges in Scotland. They used to fly past Les to get to me and I had the itch and bite marks for weeks afterwards.Of course only us special people are the chosen ones eh?
It's warm but overcast here and maybe we'll see a shower .If so (TMI alert) I'm going to stand out the back in my undies.

TONY....not a word !!!

no rain, so the neighbours can save the whistles for another day.....
that's a bit awkward Buff having those black flies in the outhouse...can you not get some rolls of old fashioned sticky fly paper
off Amazon or somewhere and maybe a citronella candle...your nether regions will be in a bit of a mess if you can't get something
and you're just get that bit sorted......or how about a pet lizard ?...sorry folks I know I'm rambling, I'm just sooooo tired

20C with high humidity nice enough day ,
Bufford you should get one of these for the outhouse
Electric Fly Catcher, Portable Bug Zapper, 4000mAh Rechargeable Mosquito Killer, 2 in 1 Killer with UV Lamp And Lighting Lamp,360° Attract Zap Flying Insect For Indoor Outdoor, Backyard Camping https://amzn.eu/d/07U0td6h

warm but with a lovely cooling breeze...washing's drying very quickly. Trying to help Les put a new gate on the back.
but we're both getting agitated. We used to be able to do this sort of thing without thinking about it , now it's
an all day job with two bad backs at the end of it all....in the old days there was a TV ad which asked "do you love someone enough to give them your last Rolo ?".....now it's your last pain killer hahaha

Carol that's the best and so true ,

I must love my chemist because I returned all the heavy painkillers to him 😇,
Sheila and I used to do all the DIY stuff together as well ,nowI just have to watch her do it on her own (when I'm not watching fooball) 🤣

7C down right chilly, but the sun will come out before the cold rains come for the weekend. I found simply spraying some insect repellent inside the outhouse most effective. Maybe because its fairly dark inside the outhouse but those fly tapes didn't work so well, but they work great in the house for regular houseflies. The advantage I have is that the bag is quick to deal with, whereas the regular folks sit down, get comfortable and set up shop reading magazines. When I had the construction workers insulating the walls years back, I would wonder what they were doing in there when they went in and took forever.

18c with a gusty wind this morning and we got all the jobs done for the weekend, so it's bums on seats
just as the rain is starting....oops,just looked and it's stopped already, looks like the hose will be on the plants in the morning, out door ones of course.....

9C Cold and wet. Yesterday I went in for a supply run, and decided to go to Mr Sub for a sub sandwich I have not had in years due to dietary constraints. The sugeon said I should be able to tolerate the added fiber from the vegies they put in their sandwiches. It was a great lunch and enjoyed every bite. It was a bit much on my system overnight though with cramping despite it being their small sandwich, when I have another I will ask for less vegies. Put a fire on, its a wet buggy day, so I will hibernate.

16c and overcast and feeling quite chilly. Can't understand why because it's my ideal temperature usually. Maybe I'm acclimatised to the tropical heat of late.....

Cold n wet with thick clouds of passing biting flies 10C. I have a good case of cabin fever with the constant wet weather. I might get out of the house tomorrow for a day before the cold rains return. I'll go out in the canoe if I can. I prepped a plank of ribs yesterday, and will slow bake them this afternoon. When the weather is bad the kitchen is a good place to be to pass the time. Even better now that I have an appetite again. I think its just old age Carol, I used to take the heat and the cold when I was younger, but now I've been a freezy for quite some time, the first surgery took the wind from my sails long ago now. Firewood is friend.

weather's same as yesterday here....cool and cloudy,,,,,since Les's cancer treatment he feels the cold constantly and loves his woolly hats and hoodies no matter what the temperature....even indoors. It might now have something to do with his dementia so I just let him do his thing...

5C Clear. It went down very close to the freezing mark overnight, the sun is warm but the air is cool. I'll go to the lake later and go out in the canoe, it looks like a day where I will need the sunblock. The ribs turned out nicely yesterday, and I will have more for supper. After several poor nights, I got a better sleep and didn't want to get out of bed, so I slept in, my body needed it.

12C Sunny, I'll take it, and go for another afternoon in the canoe, away from the shore leaving the mosquitos behind. I had a tree come down across the trail yesterday forcing me to go back and get the chainsaw, while I did that the biting flies got a generous blood donation. It's July, the worst of the year is mostly behind us now and things should improve as summer matures. I had another good night's rest making up for sleep deprivation.

16c and quite nice for me.......half-way to Christmas hahaha ,just sayin' and I've seen a few little ads reminding us to start prepping.
UNBELIEVABLE !!!.......on the way for the fortnightly shop yesterday I noticed that last years ad for xmas trees is still
in place....why won't they let people grow old at their own pace instead of hurrying them along ???

10C Rain. I would sent all this to you Tony for one day of +30 beach weather. Have you been out swimming? Just stay away from the sharks. I went out in the canoe and took in nature until the rain forced me off the lake. Maybe its the canoing, but I sure got into a good deep sleep again last night. The house was dark and cold when I rose and could have slept more, but I got the fire going and put the breakfast on. I'll make a good chicken dinner later. One thing's certain, my appetite has sure improved with the surgery.

Hey Bufford, no swimming yet ,going to see the surgeon on the 8 , so will ask him then if it's OK to swim ,
Had to see the nurse today for a prolia shot and had her check out my wound , she said it was perfect ( the wound not my butt) 🤣 so all looking good here .

For some reason my butt was very itchy last night, I found relief by using the hairdrier and a painkiller to put me out. No issues with it at the moment. By wound, do you mean your stoma Tony? Now that I can size the flange right, the rash in the stoma area is under control. I was cutting the hole in the flange too large. I think you will be okay for swimming, its probably going to be good for the healing.
12C More rain to come.

Hey Bufford, no , the wound where my butt used to be
Stoma is good and has been mostly since I got it ,
The itching is supposed to be a good sign of healing but , it can drive you mad at times ,
Hope the itching eases up ,it's really hard not to scratch down there ,

Nice day today 20C with plenty of sunshine, a bit windy though ,
Had to bring our dog to the vet today ,
Stupid idiot of a neighbour gave her food over the fence and she's being throwing up and having diarrhea for the last 48 hours ,
The neighbour is the kind that freezes food ,thaws it and refreezes it again if its not used esp cheap pork products ,
Don't know how her husband survives 🤢

Give the silly woman the bill Tony....she probably thinks she's being kind but she should really ask before she gives stuff to your dog.
16c today but with a cold blustery wind....notices up around the park to BEWARE OF FALLEN BRANCHES...so we kept to the wider paths and got home unscathed.....

Being honest I feel sorry for the husband , he was lonely and married her within two months of meeting her online ,
She's so bad she was on the way back from California and was so violent on the place ,they diverted to Iceland and threw her off ,

Husband had to pay for new flights to get her back , I would have left her there to cool off ,
He's nearly 70 and she's in her 50's and no oil painting 😇 ,
She spends every penny he has ,mocks him and sits on her ass all day ,
Sometimes it's better to be on your own but he's a glutton for punishment, she's his third wife 🤔,
Anyway enough of my gossip ,hope you and Les are doing well

Weather warm and dull 20C

I agree with Carol, give your neighbor the bill, and make them clean up too. Its tough enough living on a chron's wage, but one doesn't need to put up with this expensive nonsense. Somewhat humid and if it warms up some it would be nice summer weather. 16C Sunny.

How the other half live eh?......we're lucky to have life partners. I've never had anything to moan about although it's not normal to go through life without the odd slanging match and door slams...I mean MEN aren't perfect perfect are they but they can sometimes be trained to tow the line.....sometimes hahaha

I miss that series so much , rewatched it last year and really enjoyed it

Just to share what Carol and myself were talking about

We have a friend who is the image of Compo both in looks and intelligence.......honestly you can't take him any where, or you could but you couldn't leave him...funnily enough he's of Irish heritage and called Patrick ,AKA embarrassing

91F here and then up to 99 on Saturday! I don't mind it being warm, although 99 is a little too warm for me!!!!
Bring it on! The air conditioner will be running for anyone needing to cool off while I get some coolers out, fire up the BBQ and have a patio party. All are welcome except for the party crashing thunderstorms with the cold front.
While waiting for the unrelenting cold wet summer weather to break, I'll can only say those online dating apps give me the creeps. I don't feel anything warm and fuzzy about inviting someone from the internet into my life.

does that mean Tony Buff ? hahaha

You don't know what trouble is my friend......hahaha I've spent all of my life being kind, polite and cheerful and I've realised
what a waste of time it's been. If I had my time over I'd be a different person, hopefully six inches taller with a black belt in judo. No more Mrs Nice Lass...as me Ma- in- law used to sat "Shy bairns get nowt"
Back to the weather.......16c and drizzly

I know you're joking but sometimes when you're nice people really take advantage,
I just don't give a @#£k anymore ,people get one chance and that's it ,
Life's too short and getting shorter and no ones taking advantage of me anymore .

That's me exactly Tony....I now find it very easy to say NO !!!! And don't have to justify myself either. There are a few people
from my past that I'd like to Give a good TALKING to, but it's probably too late now enuff said,
,and you know I don't mean you eh? enjoy your weekend, and you too Buff of course, and any one else who's around.

We have all been rugs in the past, I guess its part of being nice, but when they take advantage and rub my rug the wrong way they will regret it, once my bad side comes up, its pretty difficult to get it back into the jar.
If the weather holds up, I might get out in the canoe should the pop up thunderstorms hold off. A bit summery 15C sunny and plentiful mosquitos to share.

That's it exactly, and never explain yourself to anyone

I don't know...sometimes us small ones can get pretty scary!!! I've been told that we can be small and mighty and give a pretty big punch!!! 😂
Looks like our weather is 99F supposedly instead of the 100 plus until Tuesday.
[/QUOTE]
Yes CS Gal.....like little dogs vertically challenged people can be pretty scarey....I go for the ankles and they don't see me coming...Not a bad day here but def. not July weather....there's a summer fayre on down at the quay, classic cars, motor bikes ,music and stalls.I won a house plant, shower gel and room diffuser for a £1 on the tombola.3 out of 4 of my tickets were winners... and I bought ANOTHER book. All in all a nice morning

Size does not matter, often its the small one's who hold the might. Reminds me of Minew the 2 kg gray striped tabby cat that growled and hissed like a cougar, her growls had enough bass note to almost shake the house, she ruled the place in no uncertain terms and got full respect from the other two cats that were three times her size. A great mouser she was, the other two were not worth their salt at mousing. People are no different, many big tough looking men are just soft marshmallows, like the big tattooed biker calling his mom.
The weather held, and temps went into the high 20's and I spent it all out in the canoe. Maybe a repeat today?, hope so. 18 Sunny.

Still raining....hope your apt.goes OK .I'm sure you're on the mend kidda and I hope you appreciate that I never once accused you of talking out of .....it.
Buff are you ok? Hope those pesky flies haven't drained your vitals

Warm but unsettled, the days start out nice, but clouds build into thunderstorms in the afternoon. Yesterday I stuffed the airconditioner into the window as the weather is expected to be warmer in the coming days. Hope all goes well for you appt Tony, if you are like me, my appetite has been very good post op.

Thanks Bufford , my appetite is great at the moment as well , eating a bit too much nice stuff but will wait for the doc to check my bloods before I behave again .

Ye have what we had yesterday Carol , never mind blue skies on the way , 21C with clear skies here , so typically we are sitting in the shade as it's too hot ,
Got the all clear from the surgeon yesterday, said I had great healing and recovery ,
He put it down to all the walking with the dog and eating well , now all I have to do is get rid of the gallbladder on the 23rd of the month and I'm sorted for the winter 😀 ,
Hope you and Les are doing OK,
Hey Bufford hope you are out on the lake and pulling in some nice fish ,
That reminds me ,must have some fish this week .

Yesterday was a day on the lake, 28C and sunshine, my kind of summer day, but a bit too warm for fishing unless I cook them up quick with a shore lunch, which is the best kind of lunch. The sun is strong, giving me a good tan, I am glad I put in the airconditioner the day before, I needed it as the house got warm. Glad you got the all clear from the surgeon Tony, I've been enjoying the new appetite, making sub sandwiches for lunch, bigger salads and bigger grocery bills. Next up is my wrist, in two weeks I will be getting an MRI on it

Thankful for the good news Tony & Bufford!!!

I've got my last infusion for biologics tomorrow and then next month will start injections. A little concerned because a cold decided to come to me last week and am still dealing with a cough especially at night. Hopefully, this cold will let me be alright for tomorrow's Skyrizi.

94F today and 92F tomorrow. Get to enjoy the nice weather, being my weekend rather than being tortured indoors at work!!! :giggle:

Hope you have success with the injections ,I had great success with humira for about 2 years

Hope it all works out, I flunked biologics, as they made me drug induced lupus sick to keep it brief. I did a supply run, with it out the way, it leaves me open to take advantage of the summer weather and go to the lake, and then chill by the airconditioner later.

Last infusion went well and they took bloods for my liver. The blood test came back normal and now am waiting for the clinic to get a hold of me to schedule my appointment for first injection in August!!! Thanks guys! Hopefully all's going well with you too!!! Lots of hugs!!!!!

Glad to hear that things are going well Cross stitch gal. 23C its a warm morning, its going to be a real summer scorcher, something we need badly to help knock down the biting flies.....if it holds up. Running the wash to hang out on the line and maybe a trip to the lake later if there is a breeze.. All and all just a good day to hang out and enjoy the day.

14c and raining...again !!! It's the annual Mouth Of The Tyne festival this weekend, which is worth a visit, but is it worth two old codgers getting a soaking ??? we'll see, there's always tomorrow

Still warm, but its about to come to an end overnight. It went up to 31C which helps knock down the biting flies, and a decent day to sit on the deck after hanging the wash out on the line. This laptop took a microsoft update and I lost all the shortcuts on the desktop, reset my browser, and lost all my bookmarks. Everything is smaller on the screen making it hard to read. I'll probably have to send this pc to the tech.

Restart the computer a few times ,it sounds like your graphics driver needs to be updated , what OS are you running windows 10 or 11 ? , sometimes drivers go missing but should not have taken your bookmarks .

It's working!!
I couldn't get it to do a system restore, I finally managed to force a restore and everything is working the way it should now. There should be a way to permanently turn off windows update and go back to manual updates which rarely gave me problems. Its nice outside, 30C so to the patio I go.

12c and raining surprisingly. But it was dryish this morning so we risked a walk to the village and although there were plenty marquees and stages nothing much was happening .We went to the weekend market over the road and enjoyed an hour there, then walked home and the rain started again just as I put the key in the door.......there are quite a lot of holiday makers around which is a shame, but we've all been there eh ?

One doesn't much think about a computer when its good, but it can make one want to pull one's hair out when things go awry. It was a nice day and ended out at the lake for the afternoon. Thunderstorms threatened in the evening, but the cold front stayed north, rather than pushing through. A nice day coming up, a bonus because forecasters called for cooler unsettled conditions, I may well end up in the canoe later. 23C sunny.

Hey Bufford when my laptop has any problems I just do a fresh reinstall using a USB drive , I use Chrome browser and it saves all your bookmarks and passwords, I save everything else in a large external drive and it only takes about an hour and I'm up and running again ,
Really easy to do nowadays .

Before going down the road to burn the house down with a reinstall Tony; try doing a system restore, followed by using microsoft's malicious file remover found on their site that usually fixes the problem. The other thing less invasive is to go to windows security and update settings and remove the offending update. It could be that I have more stuff on this laptop as a reinstall is a full days work, and then reinstalling apps and programs is another pain in the @$$. I use firefox on windows 10.
I had a lazy day on the deck in the shade with a cooler as it was a good hot summer day reaching 30C. Today its much cooler and heavy rain is expected, but by the maps we may be spared from the worst. 15C Gray.

Today supposedly is a "cool" 84 degrees 😂 . Too bad I'll be stuck in a crazy store all day/evening. It's hard knowing everyone is enjoying all this when you're inside dealing with the public...

Haven't heard anything from the clinic yet, although I do know that my injections have been approved by insurance. We'll see how long it takes to hear something...

We could use some of that 84 if you have any left to share Cross-stitch gal. Its 10C wet, paltry and the biting flies are worse than ever after the heavy rains yesterday. I went outside this morning, only to come back in real quick as the mosquitos are drilling today so I'll hole up in the house again today, and make a day of it tomorrow getting supplies with the neighbor. Yesterday was a day in the kitchen and the ribs turned out perfect, I'll have the rest later for supper. Season ribs as you wish the night before, next day place ribs upside down to absorb juices, foil wrap and place on cookie sheet, then into the 100C oven for just over 3 hrs, open foil, turn ribs right side up then brush on BBQ sauce and then broil until the sauce has caramelized.

Oh ,I am drooling here Buff, they sound great....I've had supermarket sushi and a chunk of buttered cheese bread..It was ok ,but def.not a Buffs special.....19c today and looking promising for a day or two...

Nice day here warm 20C with some sunshine ,just sitting in the garden reading and listening to music ,good times

What you reading Tony ?
Rereading the Bosch series by
Michael Connolly , on the Black Echo at the moment , and when that gets too tense I switch over to Tom Sharpe or Terry Pratchett ,love rereading my favourite books ,it's very comforting.
