What is YOUR weather like today??

Its a wet start to the day, but its supposed to be nice later on. After the long day before I took it easy yesterday spent some time with the neighbor in the afternoon. Its a bit warm for working on wood, so I'll take the summer while we still have it.

16c and blustery again but no complaints. We went to the weekend market but it's a holiday weekend so more crowded
than usual with lots of ill mannered shovers and pushers ,and as you know I'm vertically challenged,so we didn't stay and walked home through the park, which was much nicer. We're expecting a late summer hot spell at the end of the week, then sweaters and socks on after that.

18C and blustery here as well , well that was a waste of a summer , bring on Autumn and Winter , at least we might get some sunshine , lower back killing me , tried to sort lawnmower yesterday but I think with my back those days are gone , will have to pay someone , have to replace a self drive cable and the robbing feckers(not a swear word) are looking for nearly 70 euro , that about £63 and about $70 , now thats price gouging ,
hope everyones ok ish

Friday never measured up to the nice weather forecasted, but yesterday did not disappoint with the warm day out in the canoe. This summer was okayish, and made up for last summer that went into the dumpster of cold. It looks like a repeat today, so I may end up out in the canoe. After Monday it looks like reality will return and it will be good weather for working the wood pile effort. Tony, my body is not the same after this surgery, I have had to shorten most work sessions and less time doing things I like, like going out in the canoe, for the body just does not have it in the tank anymore. I find any kind of work that requires hunching over very difficult.

We had a small one man gardening business Tony, and Les misses it badly. He had his regular fortnightly customers, and he did quite a few factories and businesses as well as homes, there were always folk asking him to "tidy" their "little" bit when he had time....which he never had,but obliged them any way. We've a machine in the shed that he won't part with, that he paid £3.500 for.....don't know what he thinks he's going to do with it now. Maybe we can take turns pushing each other to the shops and back hahaha

We've been down to the Quay and I can honestly say that today will be the last time I walk back UP that flaming bank....it nearly did me in !!!! The weather is mild with a warm breeze, peaking on wednesday . I hope to feel more energetic when it cools down.but I'm not banking on it.

Us men love our toys ,it's hard when we can't play with them any more , now reading that back it sounds smutty but no smutt intended 😚

Hate walking hills but funny enough I really want to climb a mountain ⛰️ in Kerry and the boss keeps telling me NO

Reminds me when I was just over one week out post off running the chainsaw when the tree came down in the yard. It made me feel like a kid with one of his favorite toys. The louder the better, letting the neighborhood know that I am back.
Its a warm morning 24C, I wish it was that way every morning in the summer.

Speaking about men & their toys, we have a neighbor who's parents gave him his house for free. Needless to say, he is a kid in his 30's who never grew up. Has lived in that house with his girlfriend & their kids, the house is trashed and he's bought all kinds of ridiculous toys, one of which is a 3 wheel thing that he flies back and forth up and down the street dangerously during the summer with his little kids.

Today is supposed to be 84 and tomorrow 82. It's finally my Friday, but I'm not really looking forward to tomorrow cause it's my doctor's appointment. Wish I could have taken a three day weekend for something better than this!!! Should probably actually look forward to it, because it'll be over for a little bit and maybe he'll have some good news!! Will keep you guys updated!

C-S Gal.....what I tell myself is that it's just one day and it will soon be over and I'll be back home in my favourite chair......
and it is,and I am and wondering why I was so worried about it......this time next week it will be a distant memory but you know we wish you well.......mild here today but drizzly.

The missing glowing object in the sky has been seen over southern Ireland , locals are flocking to the beaches in search of some colour on their pale Irish skin ,
Or in other words 20C with some sunshine ,
Hope you get some good news 🪡Girl ,hey Carol enjoy your comfy chair and Bufford sharpen that ax
My friends hope you are doing well

We are back to the same old weather here now after a string of summer days, so you are not alone Tony. The firewood effort will replace the beach and canoe activities. Yesterday did not disappoint with the warmth, 30C humidity and sunshine. I stopped and had a gin and tonic on the deck. then reality rolled in from the north overnight with that chill. Cross Stitch, after the surgeries, doctor visits are for the most part easy to take with the exception of the waiting room when it gets long. Its the surgeries; not so easy to recover from being senior and slower to heal. That last one was a doozy.

Thanks guys!!! 84 degrees today.
Appointment went well, looks like my test results changed about 60% difference!!! The poop test originally was 1100 and went down to 460 something!!! So, doctor was pleased even though he'd like that to go down even further. Also, my weight is up a few pounds too which is a good thing since I've always been below on the weight scale. We'll keep on this dose for now & follow up probably in January.

Now, to eat something and hopefully a nap afterwards! Later!! :giggle:

17c and trying it's best to spoil the day with rain....got the bus to the coast, only 4 stops hahaha, but it makes a huge difference. We had a nice walk along the sea front but stayed on the pavement, then hopped on the bus back home, We have at last admitted that we're past our best and not to torture ourselves by trying too hard to be what we once were....what a relief !!!!

10C Very fall like with a chilly northeasterly wind. Yesterday went by quicker than I thought, I went to the dermatologist and saw the doctor about my wrist. I'll be getting surgery done on it, but not until the wood pile effort is done, since I'll need 6 weeks for it to heal, at least the lump is not cancerous. Its chilly outside, so this afternoon I will be on the wood effort.

Lovely day here today 20C and lots of sunshine ,had to replace a network cable to our son's cottage so lots of crawling about in a hot dusty attic ,all done now and the only damage was a sliced finger, forgot I'm not allowed to use sharp knives anymore 😀

12C cold easterly winds. Not used to this weather after the warm stretch we had. I'll keep going at the wood effort until we get for now. Hope your finger is on the mend Tony, and someone else can do the dishes.

20C and nice day with some sunshine,
I never do the dishes Bufford but I do the cooking , but it was hard going trying to chop up onions chilli and garlic yesterday but it tasted good eventually,
Was my one fault ,I cut towards myself instead.of away , rookie mistake

Hey,hey, hey it's a beautiful day.....warm 18c with a gentle breeze. I wish I'd washed the bedding instead of wandering around the shops wasting cash on stuff I could very well do without hahaha Still tomorrow looks good too

PLEASE NEUTER YOUR PETS
and your weird friends and relatives

12C sunny. It was not such a bad day as the rain held off and the sun came out for a time in the afternoon. I cut more wood, but soon I will need to move and pile it. Conditions are feeling more fall like and the evenings continue to stretch as the sun sets earlier. Carol we could really use a low cost neuter clinic, the problem here is that they multiply like crazy and end up becoming politicians.

Another lovely day, warm 18c,calm and sunny....Got the bus to the town square (3 stops) there's a thing on with music etc but it was mostly for the little kids. But I did get the bedding on the line, hopefully not for the last time this year.I hope I haven't put the warmer duvet on too soon,,,,11c tonight. Buff, the UK has really gone to hell in a handcart.I thought the new government would be an improvement but no such luck,The future looks dismal for all,and I don't mean the weather...

15 C a sunny start to the day. For a Friday before the last long weekend of the summer things were tame, what was to be a long day was easy and I was home early. For once the ostomy clinic was on time, as I didn't have to wait. I will be getting fitted up for an ostomy belt to wear when I am working on wood or anything heavy like snow shoveling, but they don't come cheap. Carol our country is a mess after nine years of this annoying miserable government that has sent both food and fuel prices through the roof along with the economy into the toilet, and all these homeless people living in tents in the street. Soon we will all be living in the street with their madness.

22C and sunny for most of the day ,overcast now but still nice enough to sit outside and listen to music and read a book

Today says it's supposed to be 97 degrees here, too hot for my taste!! Especially for my Husband who mostly works outside and will today/tonight.

Been pretty stressful for both of us at work. It's bad enough that this weekend is Labor Day weekend where people are going nuts buying stuff for parties, BBQ's and all. But, my coworkers across the river from us are in a strike and have been since Wednesday. So, the customers are coming across thee river to my store and creating more craziness than we already have. Needless to say. last night I was ready to pull my hair out!!!

Just what you don't need eh ? hope today's a better day and you have some time off work

15c and grey.....staying indoors today to potter about and faff on.Lots of reading to catch up with and the last couple of series
of the "Walkers"....but I think there's a new one just showed up in my TV paper ,so all good.

I must try and watch The Walking Dead , watching Fallout and its brilliant , 18c and overcast very disappointing after a lovely day yesterday , shouldn't complain I suppose , as long as you can get out and about everything else is a bonus .

I did not get anything done yesterday, the weather wasn't all that bad, and I could have cut or moved some wood before the rains came later, but it wasn't in the tank, and more like bums on seats. I am going to move wood today, the seasons are moving so I must too or winter will bite me in my butt. 12 C sunny with a fall like breeze.

Started a bit misty but clear now with high cloud and warm...I think I was a bit premature by putting the winter duvet on.Although it's only double the weight of the summer one I nearly cooked last night......never mind, the fur ( faux) throw will be on top before we know it....Buff,I wish you well getting your firewood sorted but I'm glad your taking notice of your old bod when it tells you to slow down..I know the clocks ticking though, so the sooner you get it stacked the sooner the bod (and brain) will thank you....

10C Sunny. I moved and stacked three loads of wood, which is about one half of a bush cord, as I only planned to move two, but it went better than expected. I will more wood this afternoon. The house was chilly last evening, so I put a fire on, probably the first one in a month. I will work on wood, as its my best insurance in case my health goes bad.

another warm day and more tomorrow. The days are getting noticeably shorter so not long now until the TV ads are all
about xmas and how much you need to spend, and eat,and drink, and wear, and smell like and need to visit......I feel sorry for businesses who rely on me to make money,I've spent nothing on xmas for 25yrs except for cards, and over the years they have dwindled to about six....this years are left overs from last year hahaha

The last couple of days have been cold and wet, I put the fire on last night and put the warmth into my bones. Its going to warm up over the next few days, I'll make the best from the good weather with a mix of work and relaxation. 5C

5C already 🥶 we rarely go under that in the winter, at least that kills off the flies

Have a look at the GREAT NORTH RUN Tony to see what our weather's like today.....If you look carefully I'm at the back with the elite ladies IN MY DREAMs !!!! I'm at that age that that when I take pain tablets they don't know where to even begin to help me...
Not to cold though at 18c.......

That's a great event ,one of our local runners ,Sonia O Sullivan won that at least once if I remember right ,hope you enjoy your run 🏃‍♂️

Beautiful day here today ,22C and hazy sunshine , went to an early showing of Beetlejuice ,Beetlejuice and really enjoyed it , nearly empty cinema which was brilliant

Torrential short shower at 7am followed by blue skies, full sun and a gusty breeze...so not a bad day. Got the bus along the coast
and had a mooch round the shops then home for lunch and bums on seats for the rest of the day.
It's our 58th anniversary today but we don't celebrate birthdays ,anniversarys xmas etc. these days, and we're quite happy with that.
Our son needs reminding ,but neither of us did hahaha

Happy Anniversary Carol and Les

Carol, its good to have a little celebration however so small or life would get dull pretty fast. I don't celebrate the big national holidays like christmas and newyears, but birthdays and the sort are a good excuse to knock glasses and have a toast or two, or maybe even three. What the heck life is short a little fun goes a long ways. Yesterday I simply took in the good weather and got very little done other than doing the wash and hanging it on the line.

12c with a nippy breeze......but some are saying a mini heatwave is on the way and others are saying parts of the country will have SNOW !!!! some of it has to be fake news surely......it's far to soon for snow in the UK but the way things are now it wouldn't be surprising

13c and sunny so far......dropping to 5c tonight .I've put all of my summer clothes away except for a couple of tees ,in case of a heatwave hahaha. I'm really looking forward to wearing comfy sweaters again.

The warm weather continues, temps expected to be in the mid 20's again, and I'll take it. I ordered a log splitter as it looks like my days of splitting wood with an axe are over now that I have a hernia. Not looking forward to using it as they are slow, but that is what its come down to.

I'm glad to hear about your log splitter Buff,it means you;re taking this age thing seriously at last .Slow's OK you know. You'll get used to it and won't know how you managed without it....13c here and lots of blue sky and sunshine, If it's a clear sky we should see another borealis tonight....not that I saw last nights mind you.....but I've seen pictures...

Summer is holding on with temps well into the 20's I went in and got measured up for an ostomy hernia belt. They don't come cheap but I need one as the body is not as resilient after the last operation.
I got a small hernia just after my first op ,and have worn a belt ever since , hernia has stayed the same ,just need to watch with stretching and lifting , got one with a hole so that the bag isn't squashed .

12c but feels warmer...had a walk over to the park to watch the annual Dog Oscars which was a nice change
and I bought a couple of books.....I really must stop buying books and concentrate on reading the ones I have collected.
Les has a hernia too ,and I have to keep reminding him about lifting heavy stuff....but you men can be difficult to take care of ,sometimes

Totally right about men Carol ,my wife is constantly saving me from myself ,since I got the hernia I get shouted at if I even try to lift anything,
It's hard realising that you have limits as you get older ,
Funny enough the thing I miss most is being able to hop over small obstacles without fear or effort ,
I was waiting in the aldi carpark in the car and a younger guy (mid40's) just hopped over a small wall nearby and I was jealous 🤣.

The problem I have is that I don't have a woman policing me, and living rural asks a lot from my body. I wonder how I managed to avoid hernias in my first 23 years with the first stoma. Maybe it was the tough love of physical work on my body that toned my muscles. But it was clear that I could see the bulge on the left side of my stoma area when I came out of the shower with the bag peeled off the other day. I picked up the wood splitter yesterday, I hope I can still use the axe for the smaller rounds. The weather is warm, so I won't be doing wood until the weather cools off, and will do other jobs including slacking off sitting out on the deck reading while the warmth holds up.

Rain has stopped ,had most of it overnight ,19C and overcast ,
Have a bloody cold(manflu) ,hope it's not covid , my own fault ,I stopped wearing masks in shops recently and now I'm paying the price ,
Anyway enough my whinging, hope everyone doing g ok

The late season warmth continues, I have been using the airconditioner and it continues to be very August like, temps up in the twentys. As you say Tony, let the axe do the work. I felt the hernia when I was forcing the axe on some stubborn rounds rather than letting it do the work which is when I felt the hernia, and then the heavy lifting of a tree that pinched the chainsaw a couple weeks ago was the real culprit. I am now waiting for the hernia belt to be made after I got measured for it. Yesterday I touched up the paint on the truck, then I will get new shocks next week, and after that its ready for its annual rustproofing.

It's just like summer today. We had a nice hours stroll because ,like I say to Les,frequently,we have to make an effort while we still
can .I doubt we'll get out as much as we used to during the bad weather.I can see him slowing down week by week, although I make the forth coming wintery days the reason. We get lots of joggers and cyclists down our street and I think to myself enjoy it while you can peeps......I've reach that age where half the stuff in my shopping trolly says "for fast relief" all too soon

Good weather continues here too. It went up to 29C, I spent the afternoon reading on the deck. I enjoy 'do nothing days' as they don't come around enough. Today appears to be a repeat. I will take it for in other recent years its been cold enough for a flurry or two or worse cold soaking rains that allow nothing to dry.

Another lovely day here too......no complaints. I saw the partial eclipse of the moon at 3-30am,nothing to make a fuss about and I was on my way to the bathroom so didn't have the alarm on specially......it will be a total eclipse next year.
Because of the recent clear night skies the Northern Lights have been seeable (is that a word ?) but we'd have to go down to the coast and as we go to bed at 9pm and I'd create a disturbance getting on the bus in me PJs ,I'll have to rely on viewers pics on the weather slot.....

Nice to have a bit of nice weather Carol , sets you up for the winter ,I honestly can't remember a "Summer"as bad as this year ,
Nice day here as well 21C and sunny after a cloudy start

We had another summer day reaching 28C and the airconditioner got a good run, and the deck chair too. We could really use this kind of warmth in June when the furnace often has to run. Fall makes up for the miserable spring weather that in some years overtakes the summer like Tony witnessed this year. Its going to be another warm one today.

The more warm days you have Buff.,the less wood you need to burn. Our heating bills are rising AGAIN next month so we might have to burn the furniture,,,TV goes first,,,utter cr*p,,,,but I'm hiding my books

And yet another beautiful day 22C and clear skies ,
Just trying to shake off a head cold that's gone down to my chest ,
Stopped using masks in the supermarket recently and instant karma .

Hope your feeling better Tony, not sure about the masks, seems I picked up more bugs when I wore the thing than when I took it off. I blamed it from the germs on my hands getting on my face when making adjustments when it itched. I put the log splitter together, and while it works well on stubborn wood, the unit is very slow. I am not sure if this unit will serve my needs, its seems better designed for someone burning wood part time. Its cooling down some, the nights have that chill again, but the sun is warm. 15C

14c with low cloud and having a day at home, pottering (faffing) and reading and catching up with an episode of The Walking Dead,
It crossed my mind earlier that I had never mentioned that my father in law owned a woodyard in the early days.It was a three man place dad,Les and a young'un. Before we met Les would take the orders to homes and shops etc with his horse and cart. He actually talked me into helping with the chopping (machine) a few times,to catch up with the orders,,,,talk about loves young dream !!!!
His dad gave him my wages to pass on,but I never " saw it " (excuse the pun).....that was the start of me working for him and I'm still at it....I remember my mam was horrified but I enjoyed it....

I'm doing well Bufford , just left with an irritating cough but lots of codeine is keeping that at bay ,
Hope the log splitter works out ,the fast log splitter look dangerous

That wood splitter in the video you posted Tony would be the perfect speed. It looks fast at first but if you watch, the speed is just right. I would be very happy to have one. I'll give the one I have a go, but I may have to get something like that. My wood pile averages 4x5x1.5 meters I burn through each year.
8C with a definite chill in the air.

14c,grey and drizzly and it looks like rain and lower temps coming ..... it's time like this when I'm glad I've got a supply of reading material on standby

0C this morning with frost. Back to reality with the temperatures. I moved two loads of wood. I should post a picture of my wood pile to give you all an idea of what life is like over here. People compare their wood piles like city folks do with their gardens and cars. My issue is the technicalities like how to re size pictures. Looks like a wood moving day coming up.

I moved another two loads of wood, I would figure that its about a cubic meter and a half in volume Then I was invited over to the neighbor for fish n chips ending a good day. They sell wood cut n split in small quantities but it would not be cost efficient, more than oil by quite a stretch. Some people buy it for holidays, or as back up heat during power outages. Since my main source of heat is wood, the wood comes delivered in full lengths in a big truck with a cherry picker for unloading. The cost is about one quarter that of furnace oil. 5C and a good day for wood work coming up.

It's a nice day.warm and windless, but temps to drop by the weekend. There was condensation along the edges of the bedroom windows this A.M. indicating a cool night.....I had a panic earlier as we left the supermarket.Went to phone for taxi home and my phone was missing.I did get it back as I'd dropped it on the way up to the shop.I was so relieved I gave the driver a tenner...I have £63 credit on it plus a £20 top up bonus so I feel lucky that there are honest folk around. Also I have a phone consultation with the gastro con. early tomorrow....

The weather is warming up again, but not as warm as last week as winter draws nearer. Glad you found your phone sooner than later Carol, its almost impossible to get by without one these days. I moved another two loads. I'm glad I cut the extra wood prior to the surgery last spring, or I would be caught with my pants down with winter on it's way. CSG you never know for sure when it comes to the weather, there may yet be one more shot of summer to come before the cold winds bear down.

That is for sure!!! I use my phone for training purposes at work in showing people how to access their digital coupons! Can't get without it especially when I'm working!!!

Yes Buff, you never know when the weather will change around here! Today is rainy and hasn't even hit 70 degrees at 12:30p. Quite a change from yesterday's 92 degrees!!!

Cold, windy and wet........ an indoor day again...and so it begins !!!

Looking back at the successes and failures in my life.and they are are legion, I can't help
but be proud that at least the potty training thing has stuck
