Blue skies and sunny, minus 2C on the dog walk earlier.Yesterdays snow has turned icy underfoot and the side roads are very slippy.

very cold. i think we gonna miss out on the snow!!!

Crossroads, i scrutinize you tube every day. this planet is amazingly active at the moment. I feel for all the birds that die in flocks the world over and the ocean creatures that are also dying by the millions. Earthquakes, volcano's and solar flares are rampant. but at least we got by 2012 lol. Can't believe the freaky weather all over the world at the moment, mind it was also bad throughout 2011, 12 and now 13.

stay safe everyone.

Nothing much has changed downunder. At least 5 states have fires burning, temps over 40c in the southern states . Winds are turning northerly and blowing off the desert so we are expecting high temps over the weekend. Still no sign of rain...Ron.

21 degrees celcius in Auckland, New Zealand... have been having an amazing summer so far - although temp has dropped this week.

Have to say, a little bit of sun and warmth really can make things better!

Nice pic. Sunny and above freezing today, enough to melt the 3 or so inches of snow we got last night in the driveway.

Going down to -17C (1F) tonight with a -27C (-17F) windchill

Wow, fab pic Jm! :thumleft:

Upsetmom! You poor thing! Just saw a weather update...45/46! :yfaint:

Sarah just emailed and said they cut her uni class short cause the power went down in the building. She said it was like death walking across the other side of the uni to the library but I had no idea it was that hot!

We finally have a beautiful day.. sadly at this time of year it also means cold weather. -18C (-1F) so a good day to have a hot cup of tea.

Scenes down in Gipsland in Victoria could be out Of Dante's inferno. One man incinerated in his car, more houses gone and they think it may take up to two weeks to contain that fire alone. Now the weather guys are forecasting that acyclone may form off cape york next week and roll straight along the Qld coast to frazer island. They say that their models predict the same thing for the west coast of Aust at the same time. I hope that their models are WRONG.....Ron.

I saw that on the news Ron, how freaky looking is that! and so tragic. :( Just like the fires west of us but no lives lost.

Everyone needs to be praying right now~seriously!!!

Its been snowing all day here today. Got about 5 inches and my computer tells me its -2C!
I live in a village which looks so pretty in the snow. Me and mum went to the shop and the cafe earlier and it was a really lovely atmosphere with everyone walking around. The man outside the cafe making a big snowman!
I don't like the snow much to be honest, but today was nice :)

Been 2 or 3 heavy snow showers the last couple of hours.Watched it coming in off the sea while walking the dog along the river. Was supposed to be just "flurries" up here.

We were promised days of snow, white out conditions. So what happened? Schools closed - people not going to work, working from home, empty roads ....... .. result - about an inch of snow near me. UK weather forecasts always seem to give the worst possible outcome - just playing safe!

Cold 2C,windy,rain and sleet showers.Lying snow turning wet underfoot.Just sent a photo of me ,the dog and a great snowman to my grandkids in Australia.(I didnt build it)

Cold. Tomorrow is said to be the coldest day of the year, whether or not thats going to be true has yet to be determined. But it can be anywhere from 0 to -5C. Gets pretty cold in my small city.

Very WINDY!!! Temps are dropping off into the twenties and tues. into the teens, yuck! One inch of snow starting tonight. I'll send some to Australia you guys!!!:rosette2:

Been a horrible day and it's a horrible night.Freezing cold, wet, windy and slippy underfoot.Darkness dosn't help either. BUTthe Daffs are pushing through :thumright:.

wind chill warning here right now -25c but feels like -36c with the wind chill. supposed to be cold all week. Oh well i am used to this weather and i like all our seasons, fall being my favorite.

Furious, did you honestly pass a medical for lorry driver? well done, now all you got to do is pass the test! Good luck with the ice trucker stuff, lol.

no snow! snowdrops, crocus and other plants coming up, have some daffs out here in cornwall. Tis colder mind!

my sister lives 30 miles south in cornwall and brought mum home to tintagel on the north coast. she hit a blizzard over the moorlands, lol. it was apparently thick snow, but as soon as she was a mile from tintagel it had vanished and no snow nor ice, lol. Shame we don't get it. would love to see a flurry.

unbelievable

After cook ing for two months the cyclone that they predicted formed in the gulf of carpentaria. It crosed cape york and downgraded to a low. However as the model suggested ithas bounced down the coast like a rubber ball. One town up north recorded over 500mm Thats 20 inches in 24 hrs. Rockhampton to the north of us recorded its highest 24 hr rainfall ever today with around 340 mm. It is hitting us now and we are expecting 2-300 mm over night and tomorrow. The storm is coinciding with high tides and there is extensive flooding up and down the Queensland coast(1800 miles of it) It is a harsh land at the moment..Ron.

We've been watching everyones weather on the news today. The heat in Australia along with floods, and the snow in America too. Amazing, Today its really wet and very windy, nothing to complain about, apart from more flooding that could be a possibility

It is getting stranger and stranger in Australia. We don't normally get tornadoes here . But a town 250 miles north of me got hit by five tornadoes today. It is belting own rain here and I expect my flat may be flooded by tomorrow. We should be out of the rain by late monday and I think dustys part of Australia might be getting some heavy rain early in the week.Ron.

Grey and gloomy, rain too.

@Ron weather phenomenon is getting strange all over this world. Tis interesting to hear about it all too. Stay safe all. i think we're about to get floods again down here.

It's 50f and raining here today in "sunny" California. The news is making a huge deal of the "big rain storm" this weekend! lol

High of -5c here today and then tomorrow it's supposed to plummet towards -25. This up and down bouncing is getting ridiculous, no chance to acclimate to it.

We have baby weather in a BIG way...wet and windy!

Bloody ex cyclone! :voodoo: I hope you are okay and safe Ron50!

Yep, thrashing down and no end in sight. :(

Fortunately for us we are at no risk of flooding as we are too high up and only have an iddy biddy creek running through the town.

Dusty.

Fun day bailing and mopping. It is still raining here this morning. Two deaths so far and one still missing. That's the difference with floods and fires . People take less risks with fire. One of the dead was one of four in a car washed off a crossing. Thankfully they saved the others. Bundaberg is badly flooded with hundreds of houses under water and they are expecting some areas of brisbane to be inundated tonight. Glad you are high and dry Dusty,Hugs Ron.

I am ok ,the people of Bundaberg is another story. The river is still rising and it is already half a metre over its record peak. Thousands of homes are now flooded and the flood waters are running up to 40 mph. The whole of North Bundaberg has been ordered to evacuate. there are half a dozen military and civvy choppers winching families from rooftops. The latest I heard is that one of the evacuation havens is now being evacuated. Some of these poor buggers have copped this two years in a row. The storm is still raging and is expected to hit Sydney tonight. It has travelled nearly two thousand miles.. One Mean storm...Ron.

Beautiful day today!

It is now 11:20 pm Partly Cloudy skies at 57 degrees F...strange weather ---- cold one day and warm the next. I would not want to be a weather guy! lol

Sounds like Sandy we had here not so long ago. Praying for you all Ron!:Karl::hang:

very wet and windy, but not at the level that Ron describes. i think we just call this British weather. where did Dustykat get that windy icon then? needed here lol.

Its -2 (28F) and we are getting more snow but it almost feels like rain (when it hits your face). Hope it stops snowing by tomorrow.

Dear Mother Nature, my body temperature fluctuates enough on its own, without you yo-yo-ing the temperature outside. +8c one day and -26c the next is not conducive to trying to acclimate to any particular temperature. Pick one and stay there for a while!!!!

We are going in the 60's tmoro and Wed. and then back to the 20's Thurs. with snow after that everyday thru next week! I so agree with you Alberta sweetie!!!:thumright:

0C (32F) degrees and got some hail on my morning walk... Now it looks like its just wet snow comming down from the skies.
