What is YOUR weather like today??

Thee last five days have been perfect ranging from 27c to 29 c tho most of our weather in Australia moves from west to east and yesterday it was 44c in Perth Western Australia so I expect a bit more heat in the next week of so. We have not had a cyclone on the east coast yet but some of the Island nations out in the Coral sea are currently being monsterred by a cat 5 storm. Ron.

Dozens of homes lost to bushfires in the hill suburbs of Perth western Australia today, one death . South Australia expecting several days of mid 40 's c . Victoria high 30's , same NSW. Queensland a bit cooler though the monsoon is starting to crank up in the north. Everyone up north is hoping for some rain. The monsoon failed last year. Out in the coral sea Tonga got hammered by cat 5 tropical cyclone Ian. During the extreme heat a couple of weeks back thousands of flying foxes(large fruit bats) fell dead from their tree roosts from heat exhaustion. Very nearly went out in sympathy myself. Ron.

Australian tennis open started today with 36c. Forecast for tomarrow is currently 44c. The cooling is not working at work, bearly coped 27.5c inside today. Not expecting a cool change until Friday. Forecast to be hottest weather pattern in Melbourne since Black Saturday.

Fires in Western Australia don't sound good.

Thanks Australia for your updates. Our son is moving from Perth to Kalgoorlie today. It's worrying but I'm sure all will go well.

7c and sunny here today.

Oh, yes please, Susan.

I've been reading up on all happening in Australia. There's also vids on you tube. shame about the bats. That's just sad.

Sunny and dry, but, of course, it's rain this afternoon. Will have to trade the rain for sun and heat, Susan.

Stay safe down under.

Grey, cold and miserable. The sun's struggling to make an appearance 1hr before sunset.

But I'd much rather have this than the intolerable heat in Aus.
At least we can snuggle down and get cosy if we need to.
Please keep safe all of you Down Under.

Thanks, scottsma. I agree that it is easier to get warm in winter than cool in summer - of course, we do not have the extreme winters that you Northern Hemisphere residents are experiencing.

Very wet during the night and this morning.Faired up now and 9c.

We're still waiting for the REAL winter weather up here.......Maybe we'll get in in the summer instead. HAHAHA.

yeah, daffs coming up all over the place, tulips too, and the rest. Still got fushias insisting on blooming. So wet and windy again though. I have a hunch that jack frost will come along and bit the tops of our bulbed flowers.

I'm afraid that Australia has the feeling that we are about to or have entered a severe and prolonged drought....:( Ron.

In currently 38C outside in Melbourne going for a top of 43C. Inside my office it 31.5C and I am counting down the hours until we shut at 1 pm due to extreme heat.

Wondering why I am even here with our on-line broking system not working. And our phone are almost silent.

Sunny, chilly and wet at times.

Stay safe in Australia. I'd be tempted to ask a supermarket if I could chill out in one of their storage freezers. Perhaps get a summer job in one, lol.

Lovely spring like day again.

I know the Aussies think they live in Gods own country (allegedly)

but it sounds like Hell lately.!!!

We Aussies think it is heaven despite everything nature throws at us ,,,,,,it is only the English cricket team that thinks it is hell:) Ron.

Cool change is on it way though Melbourne. Dropped from 44c to 29c at the tennis.

There are many fires burning in Victoria. The Grampians are the worse with homes lost and one live.

We have seen the fires burning on the news again. You've had some hot, hot summers down under. Stay safe. Catherine, I love that possum. I'm hoping all animals in danger find a pool to cool off in to stay alive.

the Chinook sounds good.

Again here we have not so cold weather, but very wet with torrential downpours.

Snowstorm in NYC! Falling since this morning. We're expecting 6 to 10 inches. To be followed by a week of below freezing temperatures, ensuring that the snowy icy mess will stick on the ground for a good while...bah humbug!

ronroush7, how much snow are you expecting in Virginia?

35 yesterday,36 c today. Large areas of central qld drought declared,no rain at all in eighteen months. Beef and lamb getting expensive, glad I only eat chicken and fish.. Ron.

The southerly change has finally hit! :dusty::dusty::dusty: And this is one happy pig in shit cause I ain’t meltin’ no more!

I noticed a couple of crocus have put in a bit of colour in my garden. Just need a dry sunny day to investigate the development and progress of other flowers.

Wet, drab and gloomy.

It's been a nice morning but is clouding over now and squally rain on the way for the rest of the weekend.Winter is on the way apparently with a big drop in temps.Snowdrops are showing their pretty heads though and bluebells are pushing through.

So pleased with two crocus out, but winter now will frostbite all the flowers down here. Can't believe you have spring that far up Carol! You're supposed to have it cold up there and not the better weather that we enjoy down here. We're in for the wind and rain again.

Stay safe in la, what changes in temps in Alberta. Ours are truly reasonable really. no snow, no ice, just too much water. Places in Britain are still under water from last month! Climate changes, me thinks.

Just had 4" of puffy snow and we are going to add to that 50mph winds so that we acan have a nice blizzard. travel is not recommended and we will have wind chills of -50 degrees. All is all, it sucks.

they are expecting our first east coast cyclone of the season to form tomorrow between Cairns and Townsville. It is expected to be only cat 1 when it passes over the coast. It should bring heavy rain ,gales and if it hits on the king tides a storm surge. Not much chance of it getting down to my area. Last year at this time we were up to our necks in water. Since it stopped we have had barely a drop and are into water restrictions. Ron.

Cyclone Dylan was named yesterday(who thinks up these names). It hit the coast this morning at around 4 am at cat2 and winds around 145k. Unfortunately it is coinciding with king tides. City of Mackay is in the firing line with high winds torrential rain and storm surge. Only good part is that the subsequent rain depression may go out as far as the drought areas. Ron.

Grey & cold but crap weather on the way.

But I'm not going to complain as lots of you have had a terrible time.

We in the UK are VERY VERY fortunate.

Now that the snow is done (for the time being) it is -9F with wind chills of -30F or so. Minnesota is a great place to live, but the winters here can really test someone's patience.

hope you have a nice log fire for that cat of yours, Linda.

My own moggies are not interested in going out in rain and sleet and this cold windy weather. One of the mog's has got me subjected to giving insulin shots twice daily, oh the needle. Just had b12 jab and no, I still can't look at the needle.

Despite a rubbish forcast I managed to get the washing out for a few hours drying AND I had the bedroom window open for a good while.Very gusty and cold now,but it's holding the rain off (so far)

Cyclone Dylan caused quite a bit of damage to the resort islands off the coast but little damage to the mainland towns apart from storm surge. Unfortunately the system died before getting to the drought areas, Two days after Dylan edna was named in the coral sea east of Mackay. Predictions don't expect it to track west as it formed lower in the coral sea than most. It will probably become a severe low rather than a cyclone and head for New Zealand. Bad time for kitties ,mine passed away last Monday after a short illness. Ron.

Loadsa snow here--------hasn't stopped all day and is expected through tomorrow.
Fairly mild though at 0deg
Niagara area

Dry, dry, dry. And this is what the long term forecast looks like…

:sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun::sun:

…and more of the same! :yfaint:

I need to get nakey and do a rain dance!

After yesterday's snow and mild temperatures, it is cold here again. It is -7F here right now, with a wind chill warning. Of course the ground hog saw his shadow and we have 6 more weeks of winter. If it is only 6 weeks, I'll actually be happy!

Really nice here.Lots of sunshine & blue skies.Cold wind but it is February after all. The sea front was almost nose to tail with peeps making the most of it.

Well edna only lasted a day then shuffled off into the south pacific. Now it looks like the third cyclone in a week may be spinning up in the gulf of Carpentaria. Too far north to affect me and too far north to bring much needed rain. Ron.

Well here in the southern half of UK since the start of December its been non stop stormy weather. Very strong winds 60-80mph & rainfull thats flooded areas of England & Wales. Sea defences are taking a terrible battering & more on the way. Its been mainly mild but tbh I think most people would prefer cold frosty days than this. Its destructive & awful. We're lucky, but others have suffered flooding & damage to properties.
Grant

We are playing musical cyclones. The one in the gulf developed then headed east over the cape and became a low again . Now they think it will backtrack and become a cyclone again tomorrow. In the meantime a low that developed in the Kimberly has crossed the northern territory and is heading towards the gulf and is expected to become a cyclone. If that is not bad enough ,Edna has done a circuit of the central pacific and is heading back into the Coral sea. It's like a bunch of spiders eggs just hatched. Truly weird weather... Ron.

Looks like a simply gorgeous spring day....but not for long! Here comes the 70mph winds and torrential rain and flooding predicted.

Hang on in there everyone with bad weather. Love the avatar Dusty (am begging for summers like yours). Don't look at the British weather, you'll just laugh. Umbrellas are impossible in this weather.

Balzac Billy (our local groundhog) didn't see his shadow yesterday so we're supposed to have an early spring. It's currently - 25 C and more snow expected. Yah, right...early spring. Stupid groundhog.

Major wind change this afternoon with big drops in temperature. Orbost had the temperature drop 17c in half hour.

There are 70 fires burning to Victoria tonight.

Yet another day starting out frigid. It is currently -9F (which is -23C). The wind chill is -26F. I can't wait for spring!
