What is YOUR weather like today??

Temporary cool in the east , temps and fires raging again in the west around Esperance. It is hot in SE qld . Around 34c in Nambour where I live. Fires Down on the gold coast. Some of the amusement parks had to be closed due to Grassfires. It is a bit of a worry as it is schoolies week when a lot of the school leavers flock to the gold coast for a week of revelry. I hope they stay safe this year. Ron.

OOHHHH what I wouldn't give for a lovely flurry. It has only been a couple of days and I am heartily sick of hot. Remember Bruce Brown and his classic surfing film the endless summer. I might do the endless winter. I could live with that. Ron.

I won't visit you at work , I get a nosebleed over three feet. Definitely not a heights person. Some light rain overnight damped down some of the burny bits locally. I believe WA fires are under control but not yet out. Have my first appointment with the endochronologist tomorrow. There have been claims here recently of serious bullying by senior medical staff leading to suicide in trainee doctors and complaints from patients. Most of my docs are great. Urologist , cardiac and neurologist not so great. Hope the endo is ok. My old fishing mate (no longer with us ) hated him but there again he was the most non-compliant patient I have ever seen. Stay warm northern hemisphere people, Ron.

Hey Ron i dont like heights either ☺ get dizzy on a ladder !! Hope it goes well with the endo and you get along well too.
you southies stay cool n keep safe Ron.💕💋

Again it's bloody freezing. I'm on my way over, Ron. Your healthcare staff sound just like ours. No rain but I'm awaiting the warm spell next week.

update on hoglets... 3 are well over 700gms (whooopeeee), I'm hoping for a mild spell cos if I can get them up to 800g I will let them out to hibernate as they should see the winter through. Little David is having issues with weight gain, bless him. I gave him cuddles and he pee'd on me last night. I'm sure he loves me really, or was it sheer fright?
He's still hovering around 590g so I think he might have to get over his issues and put up with me for the winter.

good luck with the endo doc, Ron.

0C when I went for coffee a couple of hours ago.

Saturday evening I went out with just a jacket not realising how much the temperature had dropped. Bloody freezing walking home later on.

Very hot today. Over 30c and steamy. Storms coming thru south of Brisbane . None up here but around 22c overnight. Very uncomfortable . Same tomorrow and worse towards the weekend with more storms. Saw the endo today. No help , he does not think anything will help me as he believes it is nearly all auto-immune. I suggested we do bloods twelve months after my last shot ( four months ago) and if my counts are well down then go with further shots. He agreed. He said after four shots there is no going back. I've had two. Not happy, Ron.

I don't know carol I think geese are like sheep. One of them decided to go south and the rest just followed. Very muggy here. Hot and cloudy. Thursday and Friday we are looking at 33c. November is an unpleasant month. We already had one cyclone try to spin up out in the coral sea but it ran out of hot air. Ron.

A little overcast here but warmish, with some soft breezes blowing in a more significant storm tomorrow, that could turn to snow for tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to our first major storm of the season, but feel bad for those who have to travel in it:ywow: on their way to grandma's house for thanksgiving.

Not pleasant weather. Days are hot , nights are hot. One minute sunny and next cloudy. Not a case of if we get a storm but when. Then you have to wonder what kind , wind, lightning ,hail , rain or all four? I see my nephrologist today. That will be fun. He won't be able to help me either. This time last week my blood pressure was 152/101 , this morning it is 99/70. Same meds each time. His reaction doesn't change , he just looks at me and shakes his head. No need for words. Ron.

Hi Ron i hope he can help you. You could do with a break on the help front. Best of luck my friend 💞

Don't worry Mandy Australia is having more troubles than me at the moment. Crop lands to the south and north of Adelaide in south Australia have caught fire in scorching heat and high winds . They think that there are lots of farmhouses and homes destroyed. three confirmed dead and firefighters in hospital with bad burns. The irony is that there is a cold front following that will bring snow to Tasmania and Victoria. The fires are totally out of control at the moment. They are hoping the coming cooler weather will help. I hope so it is a harsh land. We continue to have Storms they are coming thru different areas each day. Very hard to predict well enough to give much warning. We have strong hot northerly winds tomorrow and temps around 33c. I saw my neph this morning. He can't help with the hormones or the targin withdrawel but his treatment for my kidneys is working well. I am holding well at around 1 gram a day loss thru my kidneys, better than the 7 grams I had earlier this year. I have been taking a natural plant sterol supplement . It really surprised my doc as my cholesterol is normally 8-10. I've got it down to 6.9. That is the lowest it has been in twenty years. Only one of my liver functions are still in the red and even my blood urea has dropped to almost normal. He asked if I was feeling well. Unfortunately I am not . He said we should try to keep things at current levels.. I will not get any better, he agrees with the endo about it being all auto-immune. He thinks that when I wean off the targin I may feel a little better tho I will never achieve full remission. Ron.

Hey Ron well thats good on the numbers front mate. Keep it going if you can 👍. Shame about not getting full remission but i guess to be a lot better would be good tho 💕
46f bit damp

Well, it looks like the snow won't really hit us until the middle of the night. There was supposed to be a 70% chance of precipitation (rain turning to snow) today, but now that has moved until night. What do the weather people know anyways?

was much warmer today, thank God. I really suffer with the cold and it certainly is a different cold than to down in cornwall. Cornwall coasts seem to have a chill wind factor but is generally a tad milder. That's not the case in the East Midlands. But I'm not complaining today.

Spooky come on down. If you don't like cold Downunder is just the place for you. 34c or thereabouts all day with hot gusty northerly winds. One of those days where all I wanted to do was bounce sewing machines off the wall. Fortunately I have some self control and no sewing machine was injured today. There is no escaping hot, when you are cold you can rug up and get comfy , except if you have to go to the loo every five minutes. Hugs to all cold and hot , tomorrow is always better, Ron.

Oh, Ron, bouncing sewing machines off walls! I love it. is that called weather rage, or heat rage?

Well, it's not too cold but raining here.

FMK, welcome and where are you if you don't mind me asking?

Update on the South Aust fires . Still burning and still out of control in some areas . Death toll revised to two but 15 people in hospital with burns , 5 critical. 16 homes destroyed as well as countless farm buildings and huge stock losses . Some of the homes were the original settlers homes. Very sad. The mountains in Tasmania have had snow falling most of the day. Cooler in Victoria. max temp in Qld was 48c up near Mount Isa . My area varied from 31 on the coast to 35 in the hinterland where I live. They say from world wide weather resources that we are living thru the hottest year on record, made worse around the pacific by El nino. Today was the worst I have felt the heat in years. I had a hot flush during the afternoon and very nearly melted. I have been hitting the water hard but it is almost impossible to drink enough. Ron.

Aw Ron,I feel for you. It's true what you said about being able to warm up,and impossible to cool down.....11c here, sunny with a cool breeze, and I promise you I'm not being smug.

Ron, that's dreadful. Were the original settlers homes of historical importance, a sort of tourist attraction? What a shame. That heat is dreadful, but snow in Tasmania. Are there any sewing machines on that mountain? Could you persuade your boss to relocate there?

We females know about hot flushes, just as well you blokes don't have a menopause. God knows what your women must be going through with hot flushes and that heat. Maybe I'm ok in Britain after all.

Stay safe, Ron.

Yes spooky some of the areas hit are near the Barossa valley where we grow most of our wines. some of the homesteads were over a century old. The really disturbing stuff is the animals , there is a report of an entire piggery with something like ten thousand animals gone. It would be dreadful for the farmer to loose so many animals. They love their livestock and it would be hard to take. It is very hot here to day again, it isn't even seven thirty and the thermometer near my puter reads 34c. Ron.

I noticed a big chuck of the Midwest is having ice storms, 2010Mustang. They can be nasty and more devastating than people who aren't used to them realize. Stay safe and warm!
Ron, Ron, Ron.:frown: Talk about devastating! Poor animals (and people). Breaks the heart.
Here we had a tiny bit of snow (not the amount they expected), but now we are having huge wind gusts out of the canyons (55 mph), and a feels like temp of only 10°f. Brr.

The fires are almost under control at last count 87 homes lost. Just waiting for a storm to hit here. A cold front has come thru (big deal the temp dropped 3 degrees) and the storms are following. You never know who will cop it but looking at the radar it is our turn this afternoon.. I hope it cools a little more. Ron.

Hells teeth, Many, got a bloody abscess and am off to the dentist. Mine isn't in today so the one I will see can charge me if he wants, even though I'm exempt! Never heard that before, and, it's his choice. So strange.

The pig situation is terrible. I really feel for them. What a death for them all together and unable to defend themselves, does break my heart too. Poor farmer and family. I also feel for those that have lost their homes. So sad. There's no controlling the weather unfortunately.

not so cold and not so wet yet. But it's coming, oh and the wind too. Time for the bad brolly season.

Stay safe all.

Sorry Spook , had a root canal nearly every second month when I was on chemo. Tooth infections really suck. Hugs ron.

Hope you made little pj's for the hogs during hibernation. Sounds miserable in the UK hope you Mandy and spooky get some sunny time as well. Same for those in the US and Canada. I loved those cold clear sunny days in winter, still not much on ice and snow but I guess you look forward to it for a while. I get over it real quick ,Hugs Ron.

Another day of freezing rain. I got out of the house and did some hunting from my blind and was able to harvest a nice 9pnt buck. Exhausted from processing it but its a good couple months of meat for my family. Hope the rest of you are getting some nice weather.

Just on dusk here hot as and another storm brewing. The heat and humidity has left me feeling gutted. Feel like I could sleep for a week. Ron.

Ron sometimes i wish i was a bear so i could hibernate for 6 mths. I could with that much sleep lol. ☺
down to 36f now

I guess bears never take medicine, it would be a pain in the butt having to wake up every twelve hours just to take your tablets.......Ron.

Welcome Brewtown. One of my favorite vacations of all time was to Wisconsin (but in the summer at a lake house). Also, my sis-in-law moved there for one year a couple years ago (from Las Vegas) and couldn't handle the cold during her year there, and now is back in Vegas.
Here, it is as warm as it's going to get today at 32°, (and finally had a little snow) with a low of 18°F. I'd rather have the cold than the warm any day.

Hi Brewtown, and welcome. Very hot overnight expecting low 30c today. The storm that was threatening last night was all bluff and bluster but a couple of towns just west of us got hail the size of oranges. We are expecting the whole trough system to move east today with severe storms on the coast this afternoon. It sometimes seems like the weather forecasters are crying wolf them you get hit with a bad one and they tell you we told you so.......Ron.

The storms missed me again but hit west and south Brisbane and the gold coast with wind heavy rain and large hail. Lots of trees and power lines down and hail damage. Many areas were without power and more storm cells were forming. Looks like that will be the norm from now on. Ron.

Very strong gusty wind with spells of sunshine and showers.Feels cold, but I'd rather stand outdoors in the buff here Ron,as over there. That's despite the gales of laughter I'd get from the neighbours.....

Oh dear Carol is that why the hedgehogs abandoned there children:)Very hot overnight (hard to believe) High probability of storms again tonight. It is cloudy and very humid this morning. Every Sunday evening on the news they have a health segment. It seems now that lonliness is going to kill me as a matter of fact because I am over sixty and living alone and not interacting with people I won't last long at all. I probably died some time back and just haven't realised it yet. I really hope they didn't spend too much on that research, Ron....

Oh Ron dont they talk more shite than us lot pass . 😃
You will most likely outlive all of the researchers mate.
45F STILL raining n windy car alarms going of all time. Earlier this afternoon my sister n i were stuck in her car waiting for a really heavy bust of rain to calm b4 we went to the shop n car was rocking in the winds 😨

Four pm sitting at my puter watching another storm building to the south west. If I wanted to I could tell the time by the weather . Doesn't look green enough to be hail but I will just have to wait and see. Hmm sounds like my stomach on a bad day. Ron.

I will take somewhere between 4c wet, wet, wet and 33c and humidly extremely hot and uncomfortable and that's sitting at my puter at 9.30pm. Hi Beez from WA. I hope all the fires are out. Did you get some rain after the Esperance fire ? Cheers Ron. Ps Mt Isa I think has had a week of over40c. Thank goodness the last time I passed that way it was winter (only 30c in winter)

Welcome, Brewtown.

@Ron, it's me with the hedgehogs, lol. Two are fat hogs now, so I could release them. But I worry for them. The other two are smaller and need more weight on yet, especially little David.

Have had an abscess since Thursday. Dentist forgot to stamp my prescription on Friday then closed early so I've been in absolute agonies. Had xmas shopping in London Saturday and not only was I a little tiddled from a couple of necessary brandies but I also was suffering drowsiness from pain meds. Oh, well. The weather held good, no rain no wind and not cold.

Today its been showers with a bit of wind. 3 weeks until the shortest day. I will celebrate that.

No offense intended, but personally, I don't care for Vegas too much. I'm not a gambler or a drinker, and heat drives me bonkers. Ron50, I don't know how you survive there except you are one strong person. But like I said, I do like Wisconsin.
Today is a tad warmer than yesterday, it will actually get to 32°f for a high. I'm one of the weird ones who likes winter months here. Give me a good book, a cup of hot cocoa, a blanket, and I could be lost for the day. Have a great day everyone.

Another hot night , it was around 24c-25c . It is like sleeping in a sauna. Sandy I like the winter. If I could find a big enough fridge I would do a Mandy and hibernate over summer and just come out for winter. On a strange and somewhat morbid note , Researchers have found that the bodies of cancer sufferers who have had chemotherapy deteriorate at a far slower rate than normal. Who would do research like that? honestly that gets right up there near the top of the list of stuff I really didn't need to know. Storms again tonight. Ron.

Well the build up this afternoon was grand then it all just fluffed away so perhaps no storm tonight. My ex is off up country doing some training so I have to go and feed the fur kids for the next few nights. No dramas with that you tend to miss them when you don't see them for a while. Our poor old pooch bella is old and blind. I don't think she even knows who I am until the plate of chicken materialises ,then I'm the number one. Funny little pets. Ron.

It's the worst time, having an "oldie" Ron.That's one of the many reasons we haven't replaced Alfie. Can't tolerate more heartache.

Horrible day again.Cold,raining and depressing.

We still have our fur baby, old gal Allie, who gets an occasional belly rub from Carol who swims across the ocean for such greetings. :) :ylol2: :) And it's still cold here.

Sorry spook I finally realised I made a blue between you and carol so I will can the frightening of the hedgehog theory . Trouble is that I am so far away you look the same:) you had best start wearing different coloured clothes ,nope that won't help, carols running around neked. Best I just shuddup. Hot cloudy morning here after a hot night. I sleep with the fan on me and if anything sticks out from under the sheet ,it cramps. Had some really Charlie horses in my feet and legs last night. I might have to take more magnesium. Ron.
