Yes Doug, very different considering the age. My foster sister was peeing in her bed at age 13. Nobody told us till way later about all her troubles. The system could use some help, here at least. I admire your determination to help these people over the years.

We weren't told nearly enough either Chris, especially with the foster daughter. Dealing with these foster systems was half the battle. The one and only (private) foster agency we dealt with started out great, but went down to about the bottom of the heap by the time we were done. (After a few management changes.) They were outright lying to us about certain situations in the end, like what our yearly (several page) contract (that we were given about two seconds to look at) would be that we signed with the assurance that it was just the same as the year before. (It was a couple hundred dollars a month less!) And that one was minor compared to something else they tried to pull... Then there was the aspect of having to deal with the state at the same time, follow their rules as well as the foster agency rules, but the case workers from there where at least honest. Overworked, changed frequently, but honest.

Sorry, I still have a lot of ranting left in me over dealing with that foster agency, let alone what the foster daughter did. (You only know the tip of the tip of the tip of the iceberg.)

Here's a bit of interest for you all....Recently a 13 cm Chinese brush washing bowl sold in 20 minutes for £285m (million).
It was from the Song dynasty from 960 to 1279 ad.
In that time they issued the first bank notes, and mail, retirement homes, schools and hospitals were introduced....makes you think eh ?
The bad and brutal foot binding for women was also introduced.

Just thought this was worth a mention....I now have four neighbours, all within a 2min walking distance, who have IBD,and me makes it five. Two dx'd in the last 6mnths,one 4 yrs ago and a new guy in his 20s who has had it since a child. And me dx'd 11yrs ago.Now I never discuss IBD and all of these neighbours have just come out and told me without any encouragement from me.Maybe I have a sign on my forehead that flashes Crohnie when I'm within touching distance of a fellow sufferer.?

There are some pretty funny teeshirts out there. :)

Hope everyone continues to do well :ghug:

Update: Discharged on Thursday afternoon after preliminary MRI results (Full MRI report will be made known by my GI doc this Wednesday) showed that strictures were due to inflammation and not scar tissue. Suspected fistula turned out to be just another stricture, but implies that inflammation has now spread from small intestine to large intestine. Narrowly escaped surgery, but still heavily reliant on laxatives for BMs.

Currently drowning in 3 weeks worth of schoolwork, apologies for the inactivity. Feeling exhausted after a hectic day, gonna go sleep now. Goodnight guys (( _ _ ))..zzzZZ

Get some rest and I hope that you heal up quickly.

My brother has created a Facebook page called Hannah's Journey. He posts updates and specific prayer requests. Her operation for Wednesday got postponed until Saturday due to fluid on her lungs and clots. It will be a slow recovery but we will get there. Thanks for your support.

Didaskaleinophobia is a fear of going to school........and if you have difficulty spelling it, then you should have conquered that fear . you scaredy cat.

My niece has come through the operation to set her femur well. They also found she had fractured her other knee so that is braced now as well. She smiled so that's a good sign.

Ah,that's great news K. It looks like it's going to be a long job for her to get well though. It must be a huge relief to you all that's she's OK.No-one knows just what life has in store for us every day.Got to try to get through one day at a time and hope we have something to smile about.
Hope you're doing ok.Hugs.

So true Carol....I can’t believe all the things happening to me in the last two weeks...three specialists and my GP....it’s breathtaking and somewhat intimidating for the future.
The eye which had the laser treatment is still prickly is the only word that comes to mind.
I can see well though...same as before but can’t help wondering what’s going on inside it.
Giving thanks for these wonderful doctors who dedicate their lives to medicine and expert patient care....and also to their ancillary staff.
We sometimes forget it takes a toll on them also.
Now have to endure and be grateful for the scads of future appointments.
Kirstie..I am so sorry to hear of the dreadful accident but glad your niece is recovering ...it’s going to be a long haul. You must also take care of yourself with all the problems you have.
Ron I hope your foot is better
CYY..glad you are out of the hospital for now........feel better soon
To all of my good friends on LOW a happy Thanksgiving....and stay well as possible

Try to be the first up the mountain
Try to be the first to touch the sky
And if they tell you you can't do it
Tell them it's a lie.........Have just posted this on another thread but thought it might be of help on here too, under the circumstances....Hugs to all.

Thanksgiving
For each new morning and it’s light
For rest and shelter of the night
For health and food
For love and friends

Did you know that an anagram of "eleven plus two" is " twelve plus one" ?........come on now,own up hahaha

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends!

Today is also Hangul day, celebrating the Korean (Hangul) written language and alphabet. Here's how you write "hello" in Hangul: 안녕 하세요 (Annyeong haseyo!)

To click a mouse burns 0.0000024 cals of energy,so if you eat a chocolate bar you'll need to click your mouse 765,551,000 times to burn it off.......good luck with that.

Note to self.......GET A LIFE CAROL !!!

Challenge accepted! I mean, I accept the challenge of eating a chocolate bar. I'm not going to click my mouse any extra, not doing that part. ;) Just the chocolate part.

I'm getting my flu shot tomorrow. Is it weird that I look forward to flu shot day? :p I just like it. It's like, hey germs, give me your best shot... in 10 to 14 days. Ha!

Hi all...kirsty aw your poor niece i really hope she gets well real soon. I also hope they catch the toe rag that hit her. 😠

Carol nice to see you keeping up the font of all knowledge tradition :)

Cyy glad you are home. Try to take it easy 💕

Cat keep on keeping on. Lovely Lily may have a good while longer yet. I know vets n stuff spout doom n gloom but you never know with these things. Hoping she proves them all wrong. Hugs to you n lily

Ron,cmack,Trysha, Sandy n doug sending you all hugs n best wishes :ghug:

Anyone iv missed hugs n love to you 💞

I make sure I get the flu shot every year also. Being on Humira and now Entyvio, I feel I am just asking for the flu.

Annyeong haseyo everyone!
I also always get a flu shot, had the H1N1 flu aka "swine flu" during the outbreak several years back (before my lung damage), don't think my lungs could handle it any longer. Even before lung damage, it took several weeks to completely recover. (Its just the nature of the beast with that flu.)
I've been mesmerised today watching news about the fires that flared up overnight in California, so devastating! It didn't help that they were having 40 to 50 mph winds. Several lives lost, and they know that well over 1,500 structures have been destroyed, including homes and businesses. One of our local newspapers had a link to a YouTube video that I found frightening. It showed a couple of reporters walking through some active fire neighborhoods (at first I thought they were cops because they had a scanner going on in the background). I can't believe they didn't leave before they did, just to get some better video shots. If you want to watch that video it is at https://youtu.be/HORrp1dLY-M.
Kirsty, I'm glad your niece was at least able to give a smile. That was heartbreaking to hear the news about what happened to her, I can't imagine what your family is going through. It's amazing how resilient children are though, and I wish her a very quick recovery.
CYY, are you hanging in there? Ron, how is that foot doing? And the rest of you? How is everyone else? Doug and I are doing okay (I guess I can speak for Doug), we have been dealing with a lot of emotional things lately, but we are fighters and we are strong! I soooooo much appreciate who Doug is. ❤❤❤
I better get back to clearing out my craft room so Doug's brother can have his own room. My crafts are being relegated to a mostly unfinished basement, but I'm going to make a "Sandy cave" out of the large, walled in family room. I'll actually have more room for my stuff!

Yeah, I've had the flu twice in the past decade, even though I get my flu shot every year. Sometimes those sneaky germs get through anyway. But supposedly if you get the shot, then if you catch the flu anyway, it's supposed to be less severe and last less long. I don't know if that's true for me - I last had the flu 3 years ago. It really knocked me down for a long time. I remember that I coughed for 2 months straight, from xmas through February. Another co-worker also caught that same flu (not from me, I stayed home while I was contagious) and he coughed for even longer than I did. We kept checking in with each other, asking "are you still coughing?" "Yep!" So, I know there's still a chance of catching the flu even if I get the shot, but I'd way rather get the shot and minimize my risk.

Sandy, that's good to hear that your craft "cave" is getting an upgrade of sorts! More room is a good thing, but for me it'd be dangerous as well because I'm sure I'd just go out and buy more fabric and yarn. :p Oh, wait, I do that anyway even though I don't have room for it. Ha ha! I did just sort out all my hats, though. I learned how to crochet hats this year, finally. So I've made an absolute ton of hats. Recently, hubby and I sat down and sorted through all the hats and decided which ones we're going to give as xmas gifts and which ones can be donated to a group that collects hats for cancer patients. So today I gave a big bag of hats to a lady who's going to pass them on to donate to the cancer center. I'm going to keep making more to donate, too. That's my little way of being helpful and useful in the world.

Mandy, thank you. Lily is doing okay-ish. If she makes it another 8 days then she'll surpass the vets' estimate for her remaining lifespan (her surgery was July 18, so Oct 18 will be 3 months). She doesn't seem to be in pain. And she's still eating very well - she's gotten pretty fat! But her energy level has gradually dropped, and yesterday she could barely finish a short, slow walk up and down the street. She had to nap the rest of the evening after that short walk. So I don't think she's got a whole lot of time left.

I'm glad Lily doesn't seem to be in pain Cat. The big thing to watch out for is when she stops eating. Give her a gentle pat for me. Regarding the flu, sometimes if you get the flu, that particular strain of flu wasn't covered in the flu vaccine. They do their best, and do a pretty good job, at estimating what flus are going to be the most problematic, but once in awhile one or two flu strains get by. (I've also had the flu twice, but the H1N1 was by far the worst.)
Well, back to the rat race!

Sandy, my foot is still swollen. I will be glad when I get off prednisone.. I am supposed to see the eye doctor Thursday. I keep having flashing in my eyes. I hope everyone is well.

Sandy, yes, that's how I knew Lily was sick in the first place - I didn't know what was wrong, but she didn't want to eat her dinner, and that was a major red flag for me. She had a few other symptoms as well, including extreme lethargy (she was almost collapsing), heavy panting, and pale gums - and then in the car on the way to the emergency vet, she started groaning in pain. It turned out that a tumor had been "silently" growing on her spleen, and it grew so large that it ruptured and started bleeding internally. It wasn't until it started bleeding that she had any symptoms, and by then unfortunately the cancer had already spread to other organs (they did biopsies on her organs when they had her opened up to remove the spleen & tumor and stop the bleeding). Apparently that's how hemangiosarcoma typically presents in dogs, too - internal bleeding (presenting by collapse, pale gums, heavy panting, etc) is usually the first symptom, and by then it's almost always terminal. So yeah, she nearly died then because of the bleeding. The surgery bought her roughly 3 months, that's given us time to spoil her and come to terms with things as best as we can. So, I know that it's a major red flag if she doesn't want food. I also check her gums regularly to see if they look pink or pale. The vet said that the internal bleeding may come back, as that's common with this type of cancer. Ugh.

But yeah, anyway, since she's recovered from her surgery, she's got a ravenous appetite. I go home at lunch daily to check on her, feed her, let her out to potty. Her habit is, she'll eat her lunch, then look to me to see if she can get any more food. :p Today she ate her lunch, and then walked up to the open fridge and stuck her head in as I was getting my lunch. I gave her a handful of green beans as I was making my lunch and she happily chomped those down. She's also getting a lot of pureed pumpkin, plain yogurt, and sometimes dog ice cream (which seems to be beef broth & goat milk, frozen). She will eat and eat and eat and eat! She's gotten so fat, ha ha. But I'm happy she still has an appetite, so I indulge her. And sometimes way over-indulge her.

How is everybody doing? I'm currently being pestered by my mothers dog Meika. ;)

She is really good company, and even more so, are you good people here. I just want to say thanks for being so great. :)

You're great too Chris, always a kind word and an interesting anecdote........I wish I had a dog pestering me right now.....Off to see friends soon.Patrick had 90% of his stomach removed 18mnts ago,now he has an aortic aneurism and carcinoma on his cheek. He has apts to have the last two checked soon. He's so tough and outdoorsy and he looks like a backwoodsman.....aint life a bitch ?

Carol, I know a guy like that too. He's my hubby's buddy. He's an older guy who has had severe Crohn's for years and now has a stoma. He's very outdoorsy too and he taught me how to shoot a gun (I'm not a gun person at all, but I figured I should at least keep an open mind and go to the gun range once to give it a try - turns out I'm a very good shot but it's just not for me). He owns tons of guns including a Thompson submachine gun (also known as Tommy gun, the type that 1930s gangsters liked to use). He's the kind of guy who wears a bandana with the US flag on it. Not exactly my style but he's an interesting guy for sure. I hope your friend is doing okay in spite of all his health challenges. I know my hubby's buddy seems to always have a smile in spite of whatever is going on with his health.

Got my flu shot. :) The arm soreness means it's working, ha ha!

Hi all..yep iv had my flu jab had it mon along with yet another b12,which by the seems to make no odds to me. Never feel any better for it...

I have 97 days until retirement! We are under 100. The countdown is now on!

Today I have filled out the retirement application. I have to admit it is a bit nerve racking. But I think we will be good financially. Also, I have an option to take a 1 year lump sum payment out of my retirement benefits. That will be enough to pay off our second mortgage and credit card debts. We will also fix the electrical problems in our old house and hopefully seal a crack in the foundation that is letting in water. (Luckily we have a unfinished basement.)

Now for the medical stuff going on. I have an appointment for a diabetes check with my PCP tomorrow. I am a little nervous about this because a few weeks ago I lost my meter so I have not been able to take my blood sugar readings. I am going to have to ask for a prescription for a new meter. I also have an appointment coming up in a few weeks with my G.I. We will be taking the labs to see if the Entyvio is working. I feel pretty good with it but this will be the first time we have actually checked my levels while on Entyvio.

Glad about your retirement, Doug. I went to the specialist today and they want me to have a colonoscopy and a MRI.

Hi Trev. good to see you my friend.

We didn't get to visit our friends yesterday as I wasn't well at all.It took me until the afternoon to pull myself together (no jokes about drapes, thankyou) and by then it was to late. Will go next week....back later.

The can opener wasn't invented until 48yrs after the can.........

I've still got 3,000 tins of peaches and 4,000 tins of beans to open........

Hi everyone! (Including Trev.)
I'll help eat the peaches, Carol. They're one of my favorite foods. 😉

Ron hope the colo and scan go well 💕

Doug hope your test have good results and wish i was counting down to retirement. Glad you are soon to be free of the work game.💞

Carol why did you keep on buying peaches and beans when you knew you couldnt open the cans!!! Haha

Hi trev nice to see you popping in ☺

Hi to all and take care 💖💕

Hi trev nice to see you popping in ☺

Hi to all and take care

They were on special offer of course.....:thumright:

I will help.. The eye doctor says I have dry eyes.

Did he give you drops Ron ? My left eye has been watering a lot lately, especially when I'm tired.I'm sure I read somewhere that it is a symptom of dry eyes.Strange I know,so maybe I'm mistaken.

I have dry eyes too, didn't realize it until I was in college and tried to get contact lenses. They felt atrocious, my eyes felt so dry, I wanted to claw my eyes out and couldn't wear the contacts for long! The eye doctor tried a few different types of contacts on me and all of them felt awful, so then he said that I probably should just wear glasses forever and forget about contacts, so that's what I've done and that's been working fine for me.

Mandy, I'm only 37 but I also wish I was counting down to retirement! I mean, I am counting the probable years, ha ha. I can take social security at 62 at the earliest, and medicare at 65. So I'll be retiring somewhere around there, with any luck. Gotta pay off some debts first - I have my doctor bills paid off! (For now anyway.) I'm working on paying off my credit card - my dog's medical bills went on the credit card so I really racked up some debt there. Then we'll pay off hubby's student loan, and then our house. Then I can save and save and save for retirement. That's the plan anyway! I hope you can retire someday soon. All the retired people I know seem really happy and relaxed, I'm really looking forward to it!

It has been an emotional ride the past month. A very close friend of mine asked us to take her out of control autistic daughter for a couple weeks (she knew we had experience with these difficult kids), we agreed, in spite of health, because she is such a good friend of mine, but it (thankfully) fell through; within a day or two of this we find out Doug's brother (also autistic, but not out of control), is coming to live with us, probably permanently; we had a really, really bad experience with a group of people that we hired to cut down our dead cherry tree (they did cut it down for agreed upon fee, won't go into details, but suffice it to say police had to be involved); my sister and her husband who have been traveling back and forth between three states involving sale of one house, purchase of another, and medical appointments were in an accident (nobody hurt thankfully) where after several seconds of large fifth wheel luxury trailer teetering on one side behind expensive pickup truck they were in, one side entirely up in the air about to tip, finally landing back on all wheels, of course destroying or damaging a lot of interior of RV they were going to be living in for next month, sis having eye surgery scheduled next day to remove cataract (she did have it done) and another eye surgery scheduled in couple of weeks, not to mention damage damage to truck pulling said trailer and damage to the connection between truck and trailer; etc., etc., Doug and I did some major retail therapy (thought of you and mentioned you Cat on the way home from said purchase) and bought a new sectional couch which reclines on two ends, to be delivered Tuesday. Today and tomorrow will be busy with cleaning out rest of craft room and now getting living room old falling apart furniture cleaned out before new furniture arrival. Major life changes happening all over the place. Can't wait to see the new sectional in place.

Sandy, holy cow, woman! That is a LOT of things to deal with, even if you're not dealing with them all directly. I'm glad you were able to do some retail therapy. Hubby and I used to have a reclining couch, but we hardly ever used it because hubby nearly smooshed our cat in it when she was a kitten. We had just gotten our cat at the time (she's 14 now), and hubby reclined the couch and then the cat snuck under his feet and got into the inner workings of the couch and he didn't see her go in there. He went to ... de-recline? the couch, and we heard panicked meowing coming from inside the couch. Hubby was like, oh no, did I hurt the cat??! But then he reclined it again and the cat walked out calmly like everything was normal. :p After that scare, though, we didn't really use the reclining function anymore, and eventually we got rid of that couch. So if you ever get another pet, just be aware that animals sometimes like to crawl into reclining couches and can potentially get hurt or at least scared like my cat did.

I had a bit of retail therapy myself today. Got myself some mud masques for my face - I've been so oily and pimply since being on pred, so my face needs all the help it can get - and I also got some epsom salt for when I take a bath. It's going to be a cold, rainy, stormy, windy weekend here, so I'm staying in and going to pamper myself a little bit. Also going to sew and crochet. And watch movies while snuggled up in blankets. And just generally not go outside because the weather is supposed to be pretty nasty.

It seems life never stops throwing all it can at everyone in this group, Cat! We know we aren't the only ones in this forum dealing with stress and problems, and Doug and I really are ok, I just needed to do my normal major rant I do every so often. Well, more than most. I find it therapeutic and appreciate all here (all of you) who put up with this complainer (me). I also know most of you only tell the smallest part of your problems...
Thanks for the heads up on the reclining aspect of furniture, Cat. We have two reclining "La-Z-Boy" chairs (going away tomorrow) that Allie liked to lay under the footrest of when reclined, so quite aware of that aspect. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be getting any more furry friends since my asthma was so aggravated, and stayed aggravated, by animal fur/dander after my lung function study a year ago December. (Didn't realize how much I was actually allergic until my cough went away after Allie did. :( )
I'm going to have a major job building my craft cave once everything is downstairs. I don't know how I fit so much stuff in one bedroom! Still, it's a project I look forward to, even though it will take me months with my abilities to lift and move things, and overall strength, I'm sure. My first craft project, once organized, is to make a (sorry for my non-refined crassness here all) a "No bras allowed" sign.:ylol: I hated them already, as many woman do, but after lung and heart problems they are even more intolerable. When I'm ALL the way done, I'll post pictures. :)
Your weekend sounds fun Cat.

Hey, it's lonely at top, where are you all? (Or did my win finally become official?) Going to go watch the Utes vs USC, it will be a tough game. Go Utes!🏈🏈🏈

I'm glad you are well. It is a great game, back on (but at a break, oops, it's back), getting intense. Oh no! Touch down USC! Be back later... (I like this kind of game.)

We're ok too. 😐 Little bit of a rough day for me physically, but better than I was this morning. You know how it is. And (boo hoo), the Utes just lost by one point after such a great start. The other team was favored to win, but we put in a good showing.

That's right, they gave it a good shot! Next time may be very different.

I love being at big arenas. I'm an ex Calgary guy, so I used to get corporate tickets through my work. I had some awesome seats...as long as the boss didn't want them that night too. :)

Hi all, just popping in to see if you're all doing good. It's been rough for us. Our life is now filled with doctors. Not going to get into details, don't want to be a downer :)

Anyhoo, hubby's remicade levels were checked last month and they were really great. So his Dr felt comfortable to move him from a 4 week schedule to a 6 week one. He felt fine for 5 weeks and last week, he started showing symptoms. The big D with bleeding, joint pain and last night he had fever. He never has fever otherwise. He has his infusion today, so hopefully should feel better soon. I couldn't sleep last night thinking what is going wrong if his blood work is fine and he doesn't have any antibodies. Then why is the remicade burning so fast? Thoughts for his Dr I guess.

Didn't mean to write this much. Hope you all are doing good :)

Edited to add- Has anyone tried acupuncture for crohn's?

Madhu, I do acupuncture for Crohn's. Personally, I feel it is more effective for swelling in my legs than the Crohn's. I hope your husband feels better soon.

Has any body read the book "can you do this??" By Noah Cant..
Madhu hope hubs is soon feeling much better💞

Sandy bad luck on the utes game !!
Hoping you and our Doug feel better soon too. Keep your chins up you two 💖💖

Chris glad your doing good pal keep the good work💕

Ron i agree less of the feeling ok and more of feeling good from you please young man 💞

Im rocking it at the mo ... well i tell myself that😉. No seriously im doing pretty good really ☺.
Big hugs n much loves to all here...
Keep on trucking guys n gals ⛟🚛🚚 :ghug:💞💕💖

Cat im supposed to retire at 65/7 i cant remember at mo. When i left school the retirement age was 60 for ladies the rotten government keep putting it up 😠 like i wana work longer with this condiction. To be honest im not sure how long i will able to do work of any kind as my fingers are getting pretty bad. I keep dropping things n they get pretty painful most days. So i could well be not employable at somepoint before 67 which i think it is by the way coz i seem to recall thinking when i turned 55 that i should have had 5 years to go n now its blinking 12 what the !!! Or at best 10 yrs lordy i so wish it was only five still

Anyway till then il plod on regardless ☺
💞💕

Iv just checked yep its 67🙁 it might even go up again yet too.. noooo!!!! Oh just shoot me now 😃

Sandy, I'm with you on having a bad loss with my football team. Our quarterback (Aaron Rodgers) got hit hard and ended up with a broken collarbone in today's game, and they're saying it's possible he could be out for the rest of the season! :( Oh no. We lost the game, our backup QB isn't nearly as good as Rodgers, and with Rodgers out there goes our entire season. Ugh ugh ugh. It's awful.

Mandy, yeah, it's 25 or 28 (or more) years until I can retire and that sounds like an insurmountable number. It's like, if my health is already this crummy, what's it going to be like in 5, 10 years, let alone 25! I don't know if I'm going to make it working full-time either. I really feel for you because I'm there, or I'll be there, too. What can we do but plod on as best as we can?

Yeah that's gonna take a while to heal, then rehab to be able to play again. Yikes!

I just finished up with the bottom half of the chimney and furnace cleaning. All I need now are a couple new fire bricks and to change the filter then oil the fan blower motor. That's for tomorrow.

Nobody has anything more interesting than furnace maintenance? What are you peeps up to? ;)[/QUOT

Well,I'm just sitting here having a pity party with myself. Not been 100% for a few days, but hopefully back on track soon.Chris,I've been really interested in your recent chores, beats cooking, cleaning and laundry anyhow.:ghug:

Madhuso sorry your fella is struggling. Please don't apologise for posting negative stuff,it's good to share.Hope he starts to feel better real soon.:)

Okay, that's just about as exciting. :)

Hope Ophelia passes soon without any problems.

thanks Ron the worst of it seems to have passed over where we are in the south and we still have power (touch wood) , its been fairly destructive so far , lots of trees down and over 100,000 people without power so far , hopefully it will blow it self out soon .
at the peak we had gusts of over 100mph.

Know how you feel Tony...the winds were really powerful here yesterday at 80mph...quite dangerous to be out in it...lifted me off my feet+walker....bit like the kids in that film where they took off into the air on their bikes.....
Carol...hope you are feeling better...it’s the seasonal attack for us Crohnies.....
among other complaints...one day there will be a cure once the researchers get to the physical reasons for it....complex situation.
Madhu ...sorry to hear your news and hope for improvements soon.
I have found acupuncture to be helpful in reducing pains...I don’t think we can expect it to cure Crohns.....
It has cured my toothache pain swiftly on two occasions...but still need the dentist to get to the root of things
I also had a weepy eye for months....I do have dry eyes...but this was so troublesome.
The optometrist says casually ...happens with age...an infuriating comment...when they don’t know they blame age...nonsense.
In desperation I asked the physio/acupuncturist who has my trust...I said could you use some acupuncture to stop my weepy eye...he said he would.
The appropriate needle was applied and my eye has not watered since..it is almost two weeks now.
I already get the acupuncture for knee pain...the good one....not allowed to have needles in the prosthetic knee because of the danger of infection.
However ..in the two years I have been going at intervals....there has never been any sign of infection.
It does stop the migraine attacks...which were frequent.
I asked if he would restore my brain ...he said..that I cannot do,!!
Well I tried..
The acupuncture has helped with abdominal pain ..and also I get to sleep quite well..better than before.
I hardly ever resort to pain killers any more.....although there is an occasional need between the acupuncture treatments.
It is not cheap.....although as a senior he charges half price which is manageable
If we did not have these frailties in life then a lot of qualified people would be out of work!!
It’s an ill wind that blows no good...
Ron...I feel for you...hope you will soon be feeling better
Mandy..I can see you have your problems like all of us and hope you feel improved soon..
Sandy...I could feel your energy in watching the Utes....sorry they lost....feel better
Chris...you have been so busy fixing things ahead of the winter...true to the beaver in beaver country...stay well
Cat...hope you are coping with your health issues and that Lily continues to enjoy her food
To Everyone...you are all a great support with the kind and caring comments..

Winning.......
