Any word yet Trev when your surgery will be? How about you Carol? Do you have an actual date (I'm sorry if you already told me, my memory is not its best these days).
Our rain in our area yesterday caused some local flooding (over three inches :O). At least the local kids knew how to enjoy the flooded soccer field.

Soccer field spilling onto road. It's actually a baseball field, but used more for soccer.
This is another pic of what they did with it yesterday.

Hello all, I hope that you are all well and happy. Lovely pics. Winning and yes I typed slowly and read each letter before I hit post. And I have edit and quote but no hugs and no thanks buttons now either. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? WHY ARE THEY MESSING WITH US? DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THE PREDNISONE CRAZINESS? :rof::rof::rof:

Quote, hug and thanks buttons. No edit button. Not gonna worry about it, you'll just have to translate between my mistakes. :)

YAY for edit buttons. I hope everyone has all their buttons now. My caffeine/drink (other than water) comes in the form of diet coke, which I spilled all over today :voodoo:. I was losing then, but now it is cleaned up, along with my kitchen and living room, and even bathroom fixtures cleaned, so I'm winning now (even if I need a nap and it's time to prepare dinner. )

Orange juice for breakfast on the verandah
Pleasant sunny day

Morning all, still no edit button but I will deal. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day. Thinking happy thoughts for all of you.

I think we all have our edit buttons back Grumpy, thank goodness.

Have a Happy Day !!! Smile and the World smiles with you, hahaha

Grumps, methinks you ought to let the powers that be know that you still don't have your edit button. Right now, I know a person I would like to use the edit button on. But then again, dealing with these difficult people is what makes us learn and grow. Today, I'm winning.

:dusty::dusty::dusty:

No hugs or thanks buttons but have edit and quote
Lots of migraines....anyone like to share mine...........
Winning.....

Don't want to share the migraine, get enough of those, and I wish I could share my "hugs" and "thanks" buttons.

Afternoon all, I got my approval for Entyvio. I get my first infusion next week. Am a little scared but excited also, hopefully this will be the "one". I truly hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with those they love and good health. Winning (p.s) my edit button shows up after I post....)

I am so sad I have no hugs
Methinks the programme has some bugs
Webpage layout..not facile
Catch a virus.....quite a deal...
How can I help resolve and heal....

Had a nice romp (in the car) to the top of Mt. Mckinnon, elevation 9081 ft. Pretty mountain flowers. Winning.
(Sorry the pic is so big, but if I shrink the size it goes blurrier.)

Great picture Sandy, fireweed is a beautiful flower it is also really good to eat if you get lost in the woods. Can make tea from the flowers too! Learned that a hundred years ago when I was a kid and was up north in Whitehorse in what was then the N.W.T here. Hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday and has a great Sunday.

I heard all the existing buttons are going to be scrapped - replaced with a 'loser' button. Don't be afraid to use it now!

I didn't know that Grumps! In fact, I didn't even know what that flower was called until yesterday when I Googled it. (I should have just waited for your post.) It was interesting learning the name came from growing so readily in burned out areas after a forest fire, though, as well as just growing in open clearings. This is the second time this week or so I found a "weed" in this area was etible.
I'm getting so full of knowledge I'm also now understanding my battle with the bulge after Carol's post also.

What a lovely picture Sandy
Wish I was there

I wish you were too. It would be so lovely to meet all of you. Maybe we all need to have a summer "holiday" (to use European term) (vacation to use the US term) every year as well as a Christmas party. :ghug::yoshijumpjoy: :yoshijumpjoy:

Great to see the witticism of Robert once more
Welcome back Robert
There are only winners ...no losers on LOW.....
Winning.......

Harsh !

It's either here or my cigar forum . Maybe if we could start discussing cigars on here?

Winning.....
Wish I could smoke cigars and drink fine wines......
Winning....

That's more like it.

Do you prefer Cubans, or maybe Nicaraguans with the earthy volcanic soil. Leaf from the Jalapa Valley is worth trying.

You see how much more fun this is?

Morning all, frankly I prefer juliettes they don't taste too bad, and with a grand marnier chaser they go pretty well. Winning.

Cough, cough, hack, hack, hack, this thread is starting to smell like dirty socks! :stinks: :stinks: :rof:

finally got a decent day to do some flying, off fishing for 2 weeks tomorrow to freeze my but off. but still wining.

just heard from the kitchen guy, hes fitting our new kitchen on the 23rd so our holiday will be a bit shorter. then kidney opp end of next month as that's been put back a month.

40 % of Scottish women have legs which are different lengths,

( It doesn't say whether they live in the Highlands or Lowlands )

Well,I've had a bl**dy awful time at the Docs.today for my annual check-up......

The nurse asked me how much I weighed.I told her 135lbs.She weighed me and the scales said 160lb.
Then she asked how tall I was,I said 5ft 5ins.She measured me and said I was only 5ft 2ins.
She then took my blood pressure and said it was high.
"Of course it's high" I shouted "When I came in here I was tall and slim.
Now I'm short and fat" !!!!

Perhaps your clothes added the extra weight Carol....and shoes can be awfully heavy..
If your clothes were heavy then they could drag you down to losing an inch or two in height!
Who knows.......
Winning....

The best way to not suffer from insanity is to enjoy it.:dusty: :cool2: :ywow:  :ybatty:

Winning.

It was a challenging time, still is,for me at the surgical appointment
The surgeon said the whole colon is diseased and needs to come out!!! But I won't do that
.....I will remove the sigmoid as per the GI specialist request.....but only if you want me to do that!
What am I supposed to say in answer to comments like that?
When I hesitated he said ...well you can think it over and if you agree sign the consent form
And I will operate!!
I am already unhappy at the thought of more surgery but the situation can only get worse
not better
I wish there was another pathway to take
Why do I have to make the decision anyway!
That's it for now....
Winning.........( maybe)

Aw, Trysha, I'm so sorry you (and many others) are going through these trying times. It is your body, do what is (in your heart of hearts) right for you, you will be okay. We'll be here for you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.:rosette2:

Good morning Shanen
It's a lovely cool sunny day
I'm now taking the win...you had it long enough
Winning..........

Just to let you know Trysha, that I'm thinking about you.
What a predicament eh ?
Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.....
Only you know what's right for you. Loads of hugs :ghug::ghug::ghug:

When I'm old (ok,... er) I'm going to dress in one of those inflatable Sumo costumes.
I'll always be warm and I won't hurt myself when I fall over.

The GI says the surgery is necessary and must be done before the next crisis
The surgeon was being gentle in approach but feels the same way
I have decided to wait a month and enjoy my family visiting from England
after which I intend to make a retreat and contemplate all the good things for which to be grateful and finally come to terms with the health issues prior to the surgery.
Then I will accept the inevitable (unless I change my mind!!)
I too am getting older Carol....we all are...day by day
Cheers!
Trysha

That's a good idea Trysha.Give yourself time to let it sink in, and enjoy your family visit.
We all understand your reluctance to have surgery, especially remembering how sick you were last year. But far better a scheduled Op. than an emergency. At least you'll be in charge and you can plan your recovery.:hang:

PS. Does this mean the Christmas party's not at yours this year ?

I'm so sorry that you have to have surgery Trysha, and I hope that your visit goes well with your family. This darn disease takes too big a toll on people! I wish that it was not the case but is wishes was fishes we would all be fishing all day I know. Take very good care of yourself. That goes for the rest of you guys too! Have a good day today.

I would love to go fishing Grumpy although my experience relates to fishing sticklebacks
from the local pond many moons ago in the springtime of my youth.
Thank you Carol for your helpful comments......of course there will be a Christmas Party at my place and it will be the biggest ever and Christmas cake with icing etc
Can't burn log fires in my apartment though.....
Winning.........

Oh good, less chance of going k'boom with my oxygen.:ylol2: (But my goal is to get off oxygen well before then.) I'm very anxious to see the Niagara area in the winter. I'll bet it's beautiful!

My turn to win.

It is quite stunning Sandy especially when the Falls freeze in motion
They are always kept illuminated because of all the visitors...winter as well as summer
Of course you would not get to ride the Maid of the Mist boats since they are dry docked for the winter, being that the water is frozen over
The Butterfly gardens are open year round and they have some really beautiful species
Then there are the casinos...best to strictly ration money if you go in there
Twenty dollars is adequate to waste....but stop there.
Lots of nice restaurants but. I always make sandwiches for picky eaters I am the worst!
Winning...........

Insanity rules :) embrace it, it might be boring without it...lol. Winning, least I hope I'm winning ,I think I'm winning, oh no now I'm not sure at all !!!! ;-)

You're right Mandy, you're NOT winning, hahaha. But nice try.

Chocolate was sold as a hot drink for the rich in Britain for nearly 200yrs before the first chocolate bar was created by Fry's in 1847.

Move over all, I'm here to win. In fact, I KNOW I won because I got to see my long lost brother yesterday, a brother I haven't seen in about eighteen years (long story).:applause::thumleft:
