Well, I just got off the phone with the PA from my GP's office about my head MRI (after my headache episode last week).....

Good news is the brain looked fine....the not so great news is that there are 2 cysts or polyps in my sinuses (one each side) - not sure if those are ancillary to my headache, or require further investigation.....the doctor will be back in the office tomorrow so hopefully I will hear more....

Now off to do some searching on the internet!

They think they caused the headaches?? Hope they can sort them out for you Paso! And great news about the brain!!

No idea yet - although from the researching I am doing right now, it COULD be the cause of headaches, pressure, weird or numb feeling in the cheek....ALL of which I have!

And, guess what the first treatment is?????

STEROIDS! bwahahahahaha.........

Phew, what a relief!...:):):)

I hope the polyps/cysts are nothing to concern yourself with too! Everything crossed!

Thinking of you...

Booo, hisssssssssss

Actually sinuses can lead to headaches, even migrains. If there is any type of blockage it can cause really bad headaches. It's why when people have sinus infections or colds they have something called a sinus headache. The buildup causes tenderness in your cheecks, under your eyes, and also above your eyes.

I apologize I learned about this while in massage school. Anyway I hope theses polyps are nothing to be concerned about good luck

glad the brain ok always a relief!! not fun about the sinuses though as any pressure there can lead to horrible headaches, hope you get some answers tomo

well - good news/bad news!!!

Doc didn't seem to think the cysts/polyps were a big deal - with the location (base of the sinus) he said they may be there from previous sinus infection(s).....BUT - he did take a look at my ears, and found 'crud' in my right ear again (he has cleaned it out a couple of times now....)...I heard his saying something about it looksiing llike something is leaking in there.....oh joy.....so, got some antibiotic powder in there, and a script for Augmentin...which he said may help with the sinuses too.....

Ok - so WHAT is causing the pressure in my left cheek...grrrr.....he thinks too that it was a migrane I had.......I just told him I'm hitting 40 and falling apart!

Paso, I'm the same! But you and I both need to go. Pred does AWFUL things to gums and teeth. If you go, I'll go!

terrified of dentists!!! Have an absess and wont go!

defo go to the dentist there's nothing nicer than clean and healthy gums and nowadays they are so much better pain wise, my gums were dreadful for years then I had a resection and they miraculously haven't bleed since!!!!

I hate that feeling of pressure on the cheek it's really painful have you tried sudofed? it definitely sounds like pressure in the sinus, if all else fails try acupuncture it might help

You do have to be careful with Sudafed. Ironically enough, it can actually dry out the sinuses too much!

Glad to hear the cysts/polyps aren't anything serious. Hopefully the medications you've been prescribed will help!
