What is YOUR weather like today??

It's raining here and 7c, we may get a storm. I mowed and fertilized the lawn yesterday so it's perfect timing to water in the nutrients. I hope you get that tank done today, Bufford. Best of luck to you.

Jane, the UK is never certain to get HOT weather. It's pretty sporadic eg: three warm/hot days then two weeks of cool,so most places don't have air-con. as it's not cost effective. We just prop open the doors and open all the windows.I will say though, that my body's inner thermostat is definitely in need of a service.I break out in a sweat just doing the ironing....

Here in the Mile High Denver area it is a little hazy,we might still be getting the smoke effect from the fires in Arizona, 84 dry and pleasant outside has me aching for remission so I could go out and enjoy myself. Still not strong enough to even go for a walk around the block. Started Humira yesterday and hopefully I will be feeling better soon.

It reached 28 c today , sea temp is still 24. No rain forecast for a week just cool SW winds and a cold front,,,,I hope. Ron.

It's up to 14c now with a nice breeze.I hope your basement didn't flood Ron.

If you get yourself down to Perth on tues.Scott and the boys will stuff you in a duffle bag and bring you over for a taste of UK summer.Bring woolly socks and a hat.

As it often does, after rain it turns cold at this time of year. The deck iced up and turned into a skating rink during the night. Its cool and breezy making it a good day to go wrestling hot water heaters.

Well, it actually turned out nice today. So now i'm itching like mad, but i appreciate the long days. It's about 5 weeks to the longest day then they get shorter again. I'm feeling for you Ron50. I hope you have a cold winter until around November.

Love that hedgie emoji. Lynda, plus your humour.

Cold and rainy today then hot for a few days. We just replaced a part on the water heater. Thankfully only $40 part. I used to love ice skating :)

Only 68 today, nice day for walk around lake I'm thinking with my daughter and 3 month old grandson. Then we go to the beach, Astoria, for a few days fun.

Did you climb the Astoria Column ❔. My sister and I have been there. Actually we drove up & down the entire coastline in Oregon and sampled wine in the wine country. 🥂

And we once stayed overnight in Yakima. 😊

Hope you had fun with your family. 🙂

Tasmania nearly got washed away last night. Hobart suffered a lot of flash flood damage. Fortunately no fatalities but some really close calls. The cold front came thru and it is supposed to be a lot cooler tonight. Snow in Victoria and NSW. It is 10.30 Friday night and I still have 22c at my computer desk. Maybe it missed me. Ron.

We did t this time. I used to live in Seaside and Cannon Beach so I have in the past. Baby got fussy when we were driving to it so went back to hotel for awhile. Went to Fort Stevens instead and showed her the ship wreck and fort and lake and camp grounds. Wow camp grounds have gotten expensive. 95-100 dollars for the tiny cabins. But they didn’t have those or the yurts when I was a kid so good option.

After an afternoon of it I took my victory shower, a long hot shower like one would do at the hotel. The old tank was heavy and just about did not come out being the neighbor who helped lifting is also a retiree. But its out. The new tank went in without issues, the job was done in 2 hours.
That old tank served me for over 34 years, it saw me through the raging flares when I stood in the shower after work wondering why it hurt. It saw me though the surgeries too. It saw me through a big chunk of my life time. The tank served well, perhaps when its recycled it will become part of proud navy ship or bridge.
-3 last night, but a bright sunny day to come.

Went to my laundromat yesterday. °102 outside and no air conditioner in the laundromat ( only something called a "swamp cooler" that just blows hot humid air around. ) I couldn't wait for my towels to dry and get out of there 😄
Gotta be careful outside, extreme heat warnings. Have to make sure I have plenty of bottled water in my vehicle.
Take Care. 🌵

WINDY right now. 5:13pm.
Weather report says 22mph.
I think they are wrong !
Dust blowing all over town.

You all stay warm....and wear your raincoats.

Another cool day,but dry and bearable.

Buff.you sound like my hubby. He gets sentimental over "stuff".

Jane is that 95-$100 a night or a week ? Prices have soared here since we began caravan /camping 35 yrs ago. Hubs and family going camping soon.£25 a night with a six man tent.Caravans (trailers) up to £30 in high season (per night) lodges and cottages between £300 - £700 per week depending on where and when.

Cool again. I wonder if Summer proper will arrive at all this year. Probably we had it with two hot days. I shouldn't complain at this moderate climate. It's far less trouble than what others have to put up with in their countries.

Apparently there's a mini heatwave on the way this week and us in the N.E.

are getting the "best" of it....that's debatable

Beautiful day today first day out after being struck down with the man flu
blue skies and 16C

Cool and windy today. The temps were pretty close to what was predicted. We are being hit with a series of killer flus this year . The over 65's have been given a free shot this year . It covers four strains and it is beefed up. A lot of older sufferers died last year. It was a mean vaccine and I reacted to it and felt headachy for four days after it.Ron.

Man flu is the worst illness on the planet.I know it for a fact 'cos my old man tells me over and over and over again.

DISASTER the man flu has morphed into the dreaded WOMAN FLU
EVACUATE THE BUILDING EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF

in other matters cloudy with some sunshine 14C not too bad and sorry for derailing thread

I thought I would step back from the work with a nice afternoon ride to the cabin on the ATV under sunny skies. It was not, after getting beat up for nearly an hour I felt like I had gone through the wash. Sat for the better part of an hour just to rest up, its no longer the pleasure it used to be since my bones and gut are just not up for this activity anymore.
Lots of work waiting to be done there, the roof is seriously aging. I may just staple down a tarp for the time being as it does not look like I have enough time or the strength to do the work before the biting flies come out.

Ya night, always better if you can put two on a site now. Have to scout out ahead of time for sure. If you don't go on web sites in January the yurts and cabins are all booked within a few days it's crazy.

Nice hot day today for the Mother's Day Color Run, went with my sister and mom.

Take care Buff, every year I have to revise my list of things I am able to do. I wish I could cross off going to work. Warming up today with a chance of showers. Ron.

It was a nice day here with plenty of spring activities. Take good care everyone, we all need to pace ourselves and work smarter, not harder. Well, that's what I think anyways... ;)

Nice here, blue sky,no breeze and a cool 12c so far.Going for a peddle later. It will be the last time for a few weeks as the family (half of them) will fly in on Wednesday.

Buff & Chris.do you still have snow lying ? Take it easy all you guys that think you're invincible. You're not,and there's no shame in admitting it.......I mean look at poor Tony and his Man-Flu !!! He needs a medal for getting through that.Big Sissy.

HHHmmmm backhanded compliment if I ever saw one. Enjoy your family Carol without having to endure melting point temps. Hugs Ron.

Carol we do still have some patches of snow in the bush where there is shade, its not uncommon to find snow patches when the leaves are already coming out. The poplar trees could start to leaf anytime now.
I thought over my plans, and as Ron50 mentioned sometimes one has to reshuffle the priority of the to do list. If possible I will simply go over the old roofing with a new layer before the onset of the flies. Perhaps its better to leave the old layer on the roof as added protection. It is only a bush shack after all, I am maxed out and can only do so much.

I live in a valley bottom, so the snow is higher up on the mountains in the distance now. There are actually several glaciers nearby. We have heli skiing all year, you go up to the glaciers in a chopper. Not me, I'm out of helicopter fuel! ;) Another warm one here so far, look out, here comes the lawnmower man (me). Cheers!

Ooops, guess who went out with thermals, long sleeve tee and a winter woolly? Had to find a loo to strip off, lol. Waiting till it's cooler to water some flowers. Skins playing up but what a gorgeous day.

Have fun with your family 👨👩👧👧👨👩👦👦

I got up an hour earlier than I thought it was, but now I am feeling it. Going to zone out in the recliner for an hour, the cat has the right idea and has warmed up the chair for me.

20c today.Just about bearable for me.Family is airborne but it's a 24hr flight so they won't arrive until tomorrow lunchtime.I hope the weather holds out for them, but I doubt it.

Was beautiful yesterday, but today is a different matter. I blame Carol's son/family. Send them home fast, lol. Should be nicer for the rest of the week and apparently maybe two weeks. I don't believe it really, but they are suggesting it.

Yesterday was cold, but today is a nice day with the first leaves beginning to pop out on some of the poplars, others are still holding tight. Bush is dry and the fire bans have been posted.

4-15pm and the sun is grudgingly shining. The kids took their socks and sweats out of their bags at the airport and dressed appropriately. It's 10c now,how warm do they want it to be for goodness sake ?

It's 12c and sunny here currently. We are expecting between 20-26c for a high this afternoon. That's low seventies to high 80's for you Americans. We may get a storm this eve as well.

We are almost into winter, not that you would know it. Our temps are above average. We are expecting showers today and they are saying , don't be surprised if we get a thunder storm. There are a lot of plants flowering out of season and my allergies are driving me mad( I hate hayfever). Ron.

10c and breezy. The Aussies were on the beach by 7am,looking in the rock pools etc. They're amazed we don't have any thing lurking that can kill them. (except our weather that is)

I can send you some Carol. there has been a high incidence of snake bites and near misses in the sand dunes this year. A lot of them have been eastern brown snakes. There was one death of a middle aged man a month ago on the central Qld coast. They got him to hospital but the snake had put a lot of venom into him and he could not be saved. I don't like brown snakes . Most snakes will try and get away. Not browns a lot of them will come at you. No storm tonight but the rain is bucketing down and it is still 23c at 11.30 pm. Ron.

-3 this morning expecting some rain later. Last night the bear was making the rounds behind the house making his huffing sounds. When I step out I shine the flashlight around and make my presence known. A startled bear's behavior is unpredictable. The ants are out of hibernation, and the bears come around to feed on them especially at night when the ants have returned to their nests.

Lovely and sunny, again!!!! This isn't British weather, omg, actual sunshine. 7 different hedgies in my garden last night. Often hissing and huffing at each other. The little tykes. I could fancy the idea of a bear in my garden, but on the other hand....

Could the hedgies be mating Diane ? I did read somewhere that they make enough noise to wake people up in the night.

Coolish and clouding over after a sunny start.

Buff, how many ants to fill a bears tum tum? Lol. I'm trying to visualise a big bear trying to chew a tiny ant.

The bears are very clever, at night the ants return to the nest, then the bear turns over the rock or log to expose the ants and their eggs and simply lick them them up for desert.
I would gladly trade the bears for hedgehogs. I have never heard of a man eating hedghog, but I sure feel uncomfortable each time the bruins look at me as if I were a menu item.

Sunny this morning, we may get a rain shower or two later. 14c and climbing now.

Yes, the bears are smart. We get them in our yard too. I always know they are close when I see heavy rocks flipped over or big old logs that have been moved or clawed at recently. They tend to poop every ten feet as well. Too much honey perhaps?

Sunny, 14c and climbing here. We may get rain later on.

Yes, the bears are very smart. Last year one was opening cars nearby... seriously! It ate someones sandwich after opening the unlocked car door. We get them in our yard too, so we carry pepper spray and a bright flashlight at night. Bears in spring and fall, then we have cougars off and on all year. I think it's okay, I really like living here in God's country, you just have to watch out!

I am glad that we don't have bears. We don't have hedgehogs either. We do have echidnas but they are not as user friendly as hogs, much bigger spines. Mind you I am more afraid of our ants, they are many and varied and some are huge. Some sting but all bite. Sunny day temp range of 12c to 25c. Ron.

Bears will stop for nothing once they smell food. Lucky the car was not all torn up and only took the sandwich. I once left a small shopping bag with some garbage in the back of my truck and the bear tore off the screen and pulled the window open on the truck topper, reached in and took the bag. Now I leave nothing, garbage however small it is, is a bear magnet.

Lovely and sunny today. Watched the wedding. I'm not much a Meghan fan, but they seems so happy. Princess Charlotte looks good. Sweet and cute. Now i'm watching Man Utd lose in the cup final (i can hope they pull back and win).

The hedgies have been 'at it' and i am awaiting the visit of tiny hedgies. Won't be for some weeks yet. Those bears sound like fun (not).

Busy weekend. My ex was up at Gladstone helping her son clean a house. She had a fall and has smashed her right wrist and put six stitches in her left palm. I caught the train up to Gladstone on Saturday afternoon. Packed her up and drove her and her car back home to the coast . Got home at 1.30 this morning. I am not really up to travelling over 800 kilometres a day any more. I have to take her to the fracture clinic tomorrow as her arm has swollen inside the cast and she is in constant pain. Work can wait. Sunny weather , 26c todayand superb. No rain likely we are in the dry now. Ron.

It was a cool day yesterday, I took advantage of it by cutting firewood and got alot more done than on the warm day when I had to keep taking breaks to avoid sweating. I am now behind on firewood due to setbacks with having to replace the hotwater heater and the cabin roof.
Today it should go beyond 20C with more trees greening up.

Warming up here too, our vegetable garden will be planted any time now. I believe the chance of frost is still here, but it's basically now or never. Take good care everyone, especially those who need a little extra rest right now. I really enjoy everyone's posts. :)

Ron50, what a wonderful ex-husband you are. Most aren't like that. Take it easy though.

Another lovely day. It's almost making up for the long cold winter we had.

20c with a light breeze and clear blue sky...The happy campers are not camping after all. It's VERY damp in Scotland to say the least.Rain when they arrived yesterday and "Scotch Mist" just a few meters above their heads today. They're renting a static caravan (trailer) instead.I think weather will improve up there tomorrow,I hope so,so that the grandsons will see how beautiful it is up there.Of course nicer weather = midges so they'll have something else to whinge about........

The world it greening up, the warmth has everything wanting to grow now. More complaints about mice coming from the neighbors. I'll have to set the traps as they are reproducing now. My nephew's cabin has a lot of them this year.
Chris, its now or never as you say about the garden given how short the growing season is. Ron50 be careful when on the road for long distances. I couldn't do 800 kms anymore and would have to break the trip up with a hotel night. In my younger years I would drive the 1600 km trip to visit family. I would break the trip up, going camping along Lake Superior. There is some of the nicest scenery along the coast of the world's largest freshwater sea.

It's a nice sunny day here and it's warming up quickly. I wish I could send some of the sun rays to your family in Scotland, Carol. Out into the garden I shall soon go.... after I eat of course! ;)

Did you get to be on the parade route? That would have been awesome!

I would have spent most of the time hunting out the portaloos, just in case, you understand :shifty:.....I have to admit though,us Brits know how to put on a show.:dance::dance:

Wow not fun, I've injured both my hand off and on from years of Karate and owee...does teach you to be ambidextrous....we have a whole 71 today so nice.

Wow not fun, I've injured both my hand off and on from years of Karate and owee...does teach you to be ambidextrous....we have a whole 71 today so nice.

Recently,I have had some arthritis in my right wrist and occasionally I have had to switch from one wrist to the other.

GI i broke a few digits during karate sessions on the way to my black belt. Took me far more years to attain than the healthy ones.

Carol, who would be in a group that large if you have to queue for the loo? Omg, i refused to go to the beach when i lived in Bude. Too scary to contemplate.

Cmack, you get to eat???

Buff, traps? We are protesting against certain traps used by farmers as they can kill hedgehogs.

Totally exhausting day here in the UK, Midlands. Took a day trip from the East Midlands to near Wales. Herefordshire, 2 hours journey with friends, lovely day, lovely Hampton Court Castle, (not Hampton Court palace). The gardens were wonderful the house guide was hugely informative and my friend and i struggled with stairs and distance, despite distance. Although we didn't see it all due to health we enjoyed a day out. Lovely weather. Now home to hedgehog watch. The birds are singing beautifully well into the evening. Gotta love nature. Not that we have bears, sharks, or snakes and alligators, nor do we have heat that would kill us. A nice day all in all. Grateful to be home to my own loo, lol. Was awake most of last night as my pharmacist can't access my liquid feed formula for me. Omg, suffering. So nearly cancelled the trip because of Crohn's.

Spent the day at the hospital yesterday. Very frustrating. Sue had to call the ambulance in the middle of the night. Er had to cut the cast to relieve pressure. I took her to the fracture clinic. They x rayed her wrist and then did a scan of it . Her wrist has 3 breaks and is still around 13 mm out of alignment. It was a smart scan which gives the best option on resetting ie. realingnment or operation and plating. Because of auto immune issues they will re break the wrist on Thursday and realign the broken bits and reset it again. They gave her a medical cert for 11 weeks off work. Finally cooling a bit and we will have showers again by Thursday. Ron.

I hope everyone is on the mend and staying warm. 🙂

Bears, cougars, snakes, ants.....no thank you 😮

I have a roof over my head and food to eat and every morning when I look out my window I see palm trees, so I can't complain. 💕

Really nice cool weather 9 c to 24c. It causes a few more aches and pains but it is so nice to have a break from constant heat and humidity. Ron.

Warm and dry, the world is turning green and in the back ground the biting flies are quietly breeding. If things stay on the drier side its quite possible that the fly season will not be so bad. Spooky, have no fear, those little mouse traps would be raided by the hedgies, just as the squirrels and smart chipmunks constantly steal the bait and make a game of it.
