What is YOUR weather like today??

It's another warm one here today. It's going to be in the 80's here, but feel warmer than that. Humidity is so much fun, isn't it??

Our rainy season, if you can call it that, is in July and August. The rain just causes the dry creek beds to flood. The ground is hard here in Arizona, so water doesn't soak into it. Dust storms too. Only 7 inches of rain per year here and it all happens in a two month time span.

Yikes, these desert dwellers have no idea how to drive in the rain !

But, whoa, in October 2010 we had golf ball sized hail one day, what a mess. Lots of damage to vehicles, thank God my vehicle was under covered parking !

Take Care. 🌷

8c but it's still early in the day so it has a chance to redeem itself.Being on the N.E.coast we do tend to get mist and cooler weather, even when the rest of the country bakes. You can tell who's a visitor to the coast from even a couple of miles inland, they're the ones in shorts and T.s with no "emergency" sweaters. It does get hot sometimes alas....

It's rained last night, now it's just white skies. Last night i awoke to horrific screaming animal noises. I had to dash outside screaming my head off. God knows what was going on, but i had to grab torch, gloves and rummage through my bushes. There was a screaming hedgie. I brought it in and it's not fatso, nor is it hefty hedge. It looks like a juvenile judging my the size and oval shape. I am trying very hard to get it to unfurl for me to see if it has injuries. No real sign of blood, but i will probably take it down to vet if it won't unfurl and let me have a nosey at him. I shall see how fit the little one is tonight to see if release is possible.

Another day in the mid 20's. If the warmth keeps up I'll have to wrestle the window airconditioner into the window. I hope to get to use it instead of lighting fires in the wood furnace.

°82 at 8:51am. No "sleeping in" here. Landscapers using weed-eaters, lawn mowers and leaf blowers at 8am. Now the carpet man is installing carpeting in an apartment upstairs. I have my window open and I can't hear the little birds chirping outside. The pigeons.....send them to the North Pole, I can't stand them. Spooky : Hope your hedgie is well enough to go back home tonight.

Sunny, sun sun sun sun! We will gladly take an extra cloud or two today... if anyone has a spare few to give. ;) I hope the little hedge pig is coming around, you are very kind D.

15c and nothing interesting to warrant a mention.Poor little 'hog.I wonder if he's wandered into someones territory. Are they territorial Di.? I expect most creatures are in the breeding season

Pouring rain tonight but quite warm. Really bad over in WA two huge bushfires down in the Albany region burning out of control. It lokks like they may join into one big one. Houses lost already. Hard to believe that there are out of control bushfires at the start of winter. Ron.

It got very humid and stuffy here last night. I'm not sure if I can hold off from installing the window airconditioner. But the weather forecast is calling for temps to only rise into the teens tommorrow, from experience it may be quite awhile before the heat will return. More than likely its back to making fires. Those window units never seal properly and let in the cold when the temps fall which is why I like to hold off until the real summer heat hits.

I gave in, and put the window unit in. Good call on my part, its up to 30 outside and now the house is much more bearable. No sense living in misery.

I just finished doing the same thing, Bufford. Mine is a window vented floor unit. I really need the precious sleep it enables. Good call is right!:D

My sister sold her house three years ago. She retired. I know she misses her garden, she loved it even though she has RA and it was becoming more painful to tend to it. Now she has one "daffy" in a pot on her patio.....but she is still so proud of it !

°82 here at 11:10pm. ☀️

13c. and grey here. Now that the happy campers (not) are back, the temp has gone up into the 20s in Scotland. The grandsons are not coping well with our cooler weather. To us it's "just nice" for them it's the Arctic.....Sissy's !!!

Glad I put in the airconditioner yesterday, with the house comfortable I could catch up on lost sleep last night. I slept in the living room pull out bed, which is very popular with the cat. Today is warmer than they forecasted yesterday. I'll take some summer warmth and hope the bugs hold off a bit longer.

Wet and horrible this morning, much nicer this afternoon, rain expected.

I think as hedgies are not thought to be territorial but they don't like each other, especially if there is two at the feed station. He's put on 25g. Noisy at night though. Still haven't got the numbers i had a week ago. Strange. They've done a vanishing act. Hope the neighbour hasn't put slug pellets out.

Spooky, I have found some cute "kitten meats hedgie" videos on YouTube. So cute ! The kitten and hedgie are in the home and are pets.🦔

Raining and quite warm. We had two thunder storms over the weekend. I cant remember this many late autumn storms ever. There is supposed to be a cold front coming thru towards the end of next week. Until then frequent showers. Ron.

Yesterday got off to a warm start, but by lunch time the clouds moved in followed by the rain and cold. As I figured I did have to put on a small fire, but it was good for getting rid of the stinky garbage.

Today it is warm and sunny, but the black flies have become very friendly.

20c with cloudless blue skies, but this being a bank holiday weekend there are thousands of people, dogs and cars milling about aimlessly.I don't mind the dogs though.

Sorry to hear about your bad weather. 🙁

16c and overcast. But better than the south of the country, which had 75,000 lightning flashes over two days at the weekend. Some damage and flooding, but I don't think there were any fatalities. Most people were trying to enjoy the holiday weekend.Oh well, burgers back in the freezer again.

12c and the third day of mist / sea fret. While the rest of the country enjoyed warm sunshine yesterday,we on the East Coast donned our top coats.....not that I'm bothered, but I think the Australian branch of the family are counting the days.(FRIDAY)

Still very few signs of winter here carol. Wa got lucky when a downpour doused the major bushfires at Albany. Maximums in Perth have been around 19c. We are still getting heavy showers along the Qld coast but temps have been in the range of 15 -25c. In your neck of the woods that would be a pleasant summer day. Ron.

After a nice start it would appear that the true colors of summer is showing up like a repeating broken record. The next two weeks the forecast is going to be cold and unsettled, and back to putting on the fire. The black flies are back out in force. I am counting down the days until fall if this is going to be the trend as its been in more recent years.
17 windy with increasing cloudiness. On the upside, the forest fire threat has improved.

Chilly, breezy and grey.....I just know that as soon as the family get on the flight back to Australia on Friday, our summer will start.

Another stormy night. Torrents of rain. Very dull and overcast now. I sincerely hope Summer does arrive on Friday, or soon after, Carol. Probably the few nice days we've had was actually Summer.

Lynda how about trading some weather here across the boarder to help even the temperature out? No wait, they will tax that too.
It looks like we will squeeze one more warm day out of it before the chill down takes charge. Yesterday was paltry, but today started warm 23 and rising.

I will have to study centigrade because I dont know it. I will look up to see where the provinces are too.
Weather is great today.....INSIDE MY APARTMENT 😄.

For the next five days we will have perfect winter weather with temps from 10c up to 22c and reasonably light winds. I should feel great , instead I have a major flare in all of my auto immune problems. My protein loss has doubled as has my arthritis and neuropathy pain. At least I am not hot. Ron.

Sending you support and 💕.

A warmish 21c but I can hear the fog horns so that means fog / sea fret at the coast AGAIN.The sun is fighting to get through the cloud and it looks like it might win today.I've never known such a long spell of dismaliciousness (not a word but it fits)
The schools have had a weeks holiday for half term,so not surprising really.

15 cloudy and wet. Yesterday was warm for half the day, after lunch the heavy clouds rolled in along with the rain. The next few days appear to be furnace weather days.

Every year its the same thing, the warm weather teases us early in the season, followed by the endless cold wet stuff that can go on for weeks.

Cold nights , sunny days.9c to 22c tomorrow. Took my ex to the fracture clinic for a checkup. I suggested she ask them to xray her whole arm. It appears she has a fractured elbow as well. Idiots. Ron.

We had a frost warning last night, It dipped to 5c or so.

What ! Frost !!

This is not a joke.....gonna be °108 here this Sunday !!
My parents brought me here against my will !!
Now they have passed away and I am but an orphan in the desert !!
Yes, they are laughing at me from the beautiful place where they are buried, behind a little white church in the middle of Minnesota farmland.
I miss them.

21c and for me,clammy (my inner body thermostat needs a service) The mist is still rolling in off the sea here, but we're better off than the south who are getting really heavy rain and thunder and lightening. The Aussies have gone home.......

Chris maybe that was sleet? Its only 1C here, cold rain all night and becoming a cold gray wet day. Sigh, it may stay this way for a long time yet, and this is from experience. Summers just seem to get wetter and colder as the years go by. Looking forward to fall now, and the anticipation of the return to the ski trail that comes with it. 20 more days to go till the solstice. Counting them down.

Dull again today, possibly more thunderstorms later.

Bad news, I haven't seen a hedgehog in my garden for around a week now. None of the food is touched by them. I still have my rescued one. I had a minimum of 7 two weeks ago. Now none. I think an owl has swooped after realising my garden is a good hunting ground. Perhaps the one i rescued was being attacked by an owl. Feeling miserable. I suppose it could be slug pellets, but whatever, i've not had this happen before.

That's really worrying D. I don't know what to think.Seven hedgies is an awful lot for an owl in such a short time.Slug pellets are a possibility, but you would have seen at least one or two bodies.Maybe the wet weather has made them go to ground,or maybe they're nesting........Another warm and grey day here,

Lets hope the hedgies are nesting. The partridge population was high earlier last month with many feeding on the fresh greens coming up in the lawn. Now, nothing. There is the odd one around. This is the time of year when they are nesting. Lets hope the hedghogs are doing the same, and soon lots of little hegies.

Otherwise cold and sunny which is odd for June, +8C. Its so cold that the blackflies are not out. I took advantage of it yesterday, I went around the septic system with the brush saw, then spent time working on the firewood effort. The workout felt good after being sedentary for several days.

Hi all...thought id pop in here. Not had updates for this and a few other threads for ages . So had to do it manualy. Its 7.20 am and the sun is out at the moment. Radio says up to 20 odd degrees c today. It has been pretty warm of late and i love it. Achey joints are so much better for it too.
Hope the hedgies are ok spooky. Maybe they are somwhere trying to keep cool.
💕

7c rain and miserable. I slept in because it was so dark this morning and the night was difficult, having to toss and turn to find the right position only to have to get up to pee. Worked hard all afternoon doing firewood yesterday and one would think sleep would come easy.

Just repeat this every day for 2 months ?
This is not a typo. It is is supposed to be °108 today. ☀️🌵
Do degrees go that high ?🌡
Everyone take care.🌼

Its been sunny all day here in Manchester. 20 + degrees. Shame i had to work.... still day off tomorrow and guess what??
Yep rain 🌧 is forcast ..blooming typical !!!

One neighbour likes to grow food so possibly has put slug pellets down. Unfortunately hedgies like them but they kill them just like killing the slugs/snails.

12c and another misty day here on the east coast.I've never know this type of weather to last this long.It must be almost two weeks now. There is a poem that springs to mind which begins "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" ......but that's about Autumn.

Yesterday in the south of the country folk were sunning themselves on crowded beaches,up here it was parkas and boots....but you know how I love my parka and boots,so no complaints from me.....

Windy gray and cold....Its been the new normal for our summers now for about 10 years. I miss those old fashioned beach weather summers when nearly every day was hot. The ten day forecast is calling for the furnace. Hoping to hear some good news about the hedgies.

Not as sunny today but still warm. Yesterdays was sunny and hot. Carol you need to move to Manchester...then we could get together for tea and cakes :) in the sunshine capital of the north Haha. well for a few days here n there at least.
Love to all and i hope the hedgies are ok spooks.
💕💞

Showers forecast for the next week. At the moment there are heaps of big patches of heavy rain on the radar but they are being held offshore by a s/w wind. As soon as it turns onshore I expect some fairly heavy rain. Ron.

°102 at 6:13pm.

Is this funny or scarey or wierd ? 🤔
The people at the pharmacy at CVS know me by my voice on the phone when I call them !
Oh, yeah, the gals in the Leasing Office at my apartment complex know my voice on the phone too.
( There are 352 apartments. )

I have apparently made a "lasting impression." 😄

It means he has to keep an eye on us, so we have to be on our best behaviour. So watch out,Chris is about......13c calm and cloudy, but looks like the mist / sea fret has gone for now,and good riddance I say.

The sun is shining, the gardens planted and summer is beginning out here in the wild west. My air conditioner is at the ready...

Lynda, scottsma is right... I keep an eye on things and help out as a Monitor... Moderators help solve the bigger issues on the forum as well as doing what I do. :)

10 sunny with thick clouds of biting flies. When the bugs get going like this the moose seek refuge by standing at the bottom of the beaver ponds with only their nostrils above water to breath like a snorkel to escape them. Many people have been driven nuts by the flies should they get lost in the bush at this time of year.

Smart moose! I have been fishing in a boat before while the moose were swimming in the same small lake nearby me. That was really neat but also made me very aware and careful not to rile them. I'm sure glad we don't have those biting flies everywhere, however horseflies are not my friend these days....or any other day for that matter.

My neighbor bought one of these salt guns that kill flies indoors or outside. Its a lot of fun, and I am thinking about getting one.
