What is YOUR weather like today??

She is not very happy Carol. She tried to write something with her right hand the other day and she couldn't . She had a bit of a panic attack until I rminded her she needs to make an appointment at the rehab clinic. it will take a lot of work to get her hand obeying orders from her brain but she needs to start now. I'm not much better. I did an oil change on the ute today. It took five minutes to change the oil and four hours to change the oil filter. I saw my neph on Thursday. My protein loss is up again and my inflammatory pain levels are thru the roof. All he could suggest was prednisone again. He thinks my blood pressure will drop if my pain levels go down. No chance , I was first dxed with high blood pressure when I was 19. Ron.

Have a good birthday Jane. I bought a ukulele last year and enjoy it a lot. We have some of best summer weather happening here at the moment, its fleeting around here so I will take it while it lasts.

ONLY °91 at 4:34pm.
A cold spell 😄
Why are my days SO long lately. *sigh*
I am starting to look for ways to get out of my apartment and socialize.
All my GI tests are done, I have a diagnoses and I have my new medications.....so I guess I am on "cruise control" now. So, time to make plans to DO something.
Take Care. 🌻

Lovely and sunny today, very hot this morning. Loving it. Seriously, it's been so many years since we had a long hot Summer, mind, what a long cold winter it was. God being kind to us Brits.

I won't rain on your parade D., but oh how I wish it would rain on mine.....It got up to 31c earlier,no good for man nor beast except D. of course.

Spooky, I'm with you, while our winters are great for winter activities our summers are lame by comparison. I'll take every hot day I can get. The last couple of hot days have knocked off a lot of biting flies, but the weather man is telling us the brief warmth is coming to an end, and it maybe gone for quite awhile. Hoping he is wrong.

28C. My 15 year old cat is suffering, and went off her feed. I slept in the bonus room in the basement last night with her, and left her there. She is doing much better now, it's cooler.

Much cooler at 19c but still too warm for me.Complete cloud cover and it's trying to rain
but it will have to try a lot harder to make any difference.

A lot of cloud cover today with just intermittent sunshine. God, it's humid though. Wish I had more than just a wet room as a cold bath to relax in would not go amiss at the moment. I think the rain we had forecast for the end of the week is now going to miss us. Our green country has gone brown, it's amazing to see it this way.

Buff, I hope you get a few more good days of sunny weather.
Tuff, my two 14 year old cats (one longhaired) don't know what to do with themselves at the moment. I feel for yours. Mine could do with a basement too.

The heat is over as the northwesterly winds usher in cool air, patio time is done for now. I am going to check the wheel bearing on the truck for the odd growling sound coming from up front. Then its back to the firewood effort.

Spooky you could wipe down the cats with damp washcloths to cool them a bit, if they don't hate water. I read British newspapers (better than ours), and it's cool how the parched grass is showing archeological finds that they didn't know were there.

Diane,I will remind you in the deep mid-winter that you were yearning for a cold bath !!! hahaha. 17c and cloudy here.Rained during the night and it filled up our water barrel so it must have been heavy-ish.
Tuff,I saw that article in the paper too.I wonder if there'll be an archealogical dig there.?

Cool nights and warm days. We have had a couple of local grassfires in the past week. Lots of growth drying out in strong westerlies and enough fools flicking butts out of car windows to set it off. Ron

+9C this morning with cloudiness. I moved one load of wood yesterday, and would have done a second but hunching over pulling apart the hub is not easy on my stomach. At some point I will need to get some front end work done, finding the ball joints a bit loose.
More wood today, the callendar is moving, and I cannot keep up with it if I get behind.

Ron I share your frustration with hot lips drivers tossing their butts out the window when the fire bans are posted. What is it they are thinking, perhaps they cannot.

Much cooler today, good wind, but loads of cloud cover. I think humans are the only species (along with domesticated animals) that have good access to water. It's sad, but i put loads of water out for wildlife. They are incredibly dehydrated.

That's quite cold Buff, for Summer anyhow. Worse than Br weather, lol.
Tuff, i think i will cool the cats down with your idea when it warms up again this weekend. Didn't need a cold shower today though, Carol. Hot one was good.

21C and a nice cool breeze off the lake. I made a small ornamental pond in the yard a few years back, and cats, at least one skunk, and birds drink out of it.

Another less warm day. Still got washing drying fairly fast though. I'm hoping we might get thunder this Friday. It would be good. I wait very patiently to experience one of our rare thunder storms. So naturally i'm hopeful. The lawn hasn't needed mowing for a couple of months now, not that i do it, lol. But it does feel more like a proper Summer. Tuff, my cats are always drinking out the pond in preference for what i put out for them.

22c and just bearable for me.....Hubby screwed an old roasting tin to the shed roof and freshens the water up twice daily. If he didn't screw it down our semi tame gulls would throw it down when they're wanting a feed. The little birds bathe in it too.

This years three gull chicks have left home, praise be.The adults are still feeding them, but not as much. They sometimes show up late evening but it won't be long until they join a creche and start looking after them selves. Then peace will reign until next season.

25C and the heat is supposed to last all week. I live in Thunder Bay and we get some wicked thunderstorms during the summer. Very loud, it sounds like a cannon went off next door. Then the storm circles the bay and comes back and does it all over again. The cats stay under the bed until it's all over.

19c with some cloud but warming up again at the weekend.I haven't been for a peddle for almost two weeks, but this weather doesn't suit me at all.According to the Met.office this has been the driest summer since 1961 and the warmest since 1976 and there's a couple of months to go yet.I'd love a thunder storm or two.Poor cats, but not a lot you can do about it.I expect they soon forget when it's all over, until the next time.

I live at the base of an old volcanic plug called panorama. It is an environmental park at the back of me and is full of fairly large trees. Every time there is a thunderstorm they act as lightning magnets. It gets very willing sometimes particularly when the flash and the bang are simultaneous. We are in for a warm wet day tomorrow the winds have turned northerly in between weather systems 17c to 26c they are forecasting then a week of cooler weather. Ron

We are enjoying a couple of nice days before its going to chill out again. We get some heavy storms here too, much like they do in Thunder Bay. 26C sunshine. The weather is very changeable with winds that can bring in nice weather from the prairies, but not so nice when they come off of Hudson Bay or lake Superior. These winds can carry the heavier cooler air for long distances and stubborn to leave.

A warm start at 22c,.but it has now dropped down to 15c and it's raining.....Yaaaaaaay!!!!

It's a soft gentle rain, but I'll not complain, although the whole country needs a heavy downpour. It's going to be a hot weekend....Oh,deep joy.(NOT)

Currently 17C at 11:30 am. Supposed to go up to 26C again. At least the nights are cool. Scottsma I saw a satellite picture of England, and it's gone all brown :(

Same here Buff we appeared to have cloudy skies but it was all smoke. Glad you finally got some rain Carol, the term "wide brown land "was not meant to describe Britain .. We have winter temps today but we are expecting 25-26c by mid week.Ron.

20c and cloudy so feeling humid.Ron,I was so pleased when "Englands green and pleasant land" was still green and pleasant when Scott and the boys were here in May.The boys were gobsmacked with it all,but that didb't last when they went camping in the rain to Scotland.I think they were impressed with the waterfalls though.I mean, after living in Kalgoorlie for three years, you'd have to be.

18C cloudy, with some smoke mixed in from the fires. Whenever smoke mixes in with cloudiness it darkens the sky further. It looks like it could rain, but nothing is coming of it.

Not too bad, warm but breezy and a good day for a peddle.
Awful news concerning the fires in California and Canada....in fact it seems like a huge expanse of the Earth is in one sort of trouble or another.Stay safe friends, don't take risks.

Nice day coming up, 24C at 11 Am already. Quiet around here, but there are some big fires further east. I am not sure that the weather is out of the ordinary; when we get a regular summer we unfortunately get some big fires given how much forest cover this country has.
With all the smartphones, cameras and the internet, the news gets around much faster with far more detail than in the past when some horrible fires went on with little publicity.

I agree Buff. But I often wonder if those who rely on technology for the news are seeing the whole picture.I imagine the younger generation only look at celebrity headlines etc.for the most part. We've always had a daily paper. In fact we read the same one as my dad used to read.(it's wearing a bit thin now hahaha) and back in the day we would buy three different papers on a Sunday. Now we still buy one..

19c with scudding clouds and a welcome breeze.

No Rain expected here for two to three weeks. Southern WA is about to get lashed by a big storm nearly up as far as Geraldton and cold wet fronts thru South aus and Victoria. Tasmania looks like an ice cream on the weather map just a big white blob. It was down to 5c last night which is the coolest this winter. Might have to find the blanket again. Ron.

Warm again today ahead of the cold front, expecting it to reach the high 20's before temperatures take a deep plunge tomorrow with some forecasters mentioning the frost word

Woke up with wow what is mom burning on the stove....nope fires are semi-around our area, wind shift happened. Guess no opening windows to cool off today.

Great contrasts. It was an exceptional summer day yesterday, the kind of day with the airconditioner running, 30C and sunshine without the wind.

Then came the cold front in the evening, rather quiet despite looking threatening. With in minutes the temperatures dropped 10 degrees, I shut off the aircondtioner and closed the windows tight.

Its mid morning today, cold and gray and still only 7C.

Wood cutting day, what else can I say.

The hotter sunny weather is back, whoopee. I'm sorry it's getting cold for you already, Buff. That's not much summer is it? Are you next to Alaska or just in the Arctic circle?
Stay safe all that can smell smoke. Scientific data is the way to go with researching how much more fires there are over the years. Same with floods, temperatures, sinkhole increases, hail size, crop losses, animal deaths etc. It's all in the scientific papers. I like the actual evidence as well as watching these changes (increasing global incidents) that people put up on youtube.

5C this morning, areas to the north reported spotty frost. We get these cold winds off of both Hudsons Bay to the north, and the easterlies from Lake Superior can migrate a long ways under cloudy skies when weather systems move through.

Yesterday it barely made 10C. I took advantage of the situation and cut wood steady all afternoon and got quite a bit done. I put the fire on to take the chill off of the house at supper time when only less than a day ago the airconditioner was running.

Today looks better, some sunshine but there is that chill in the air.

19C and the nights have been cool, 11C in the morning. It's too early for fall. Had a good rain storm.

20c and looks like rain.It was 18c during the night but I slept on top of the covers so managed a good sleep.UK folk going off to Spain and Portugal (holiday of choice for a lot of people) are being warned of dangerously high temps of 47c+.Some Brits get off the plane and run to the beach to bake all day.No doubt the hospitals will be busy.

We have one of the worst droughts ever recorded in New south wales , 3/4 of Qld and most of the Northern territory. Farmers are having to sell off most of their stock or put them down in some cases . Nearly all of the winter grain crops have failed as have the fodder crops. A spokesman for the farmers has said if there are no decent rains in the next four weeks the drought rating will rise from severe to disastrous. The air on the coast is mostly smoke from barely controlled burnoffs to prevent bushfires. Ron.

We had a couple of very cool days, the fire threat is low after the rains we had. Its supposed to warm up over the coming days, today still being on the cool side I will cut more firewood.

Lovely and hot and sunny today, however, i am getting hives again. Itch, itch, itch, scratch, scratch. Lol i must not complain. We're actually having a summer.

@Ron50, Australia seems to be suffering greatly these past few years. It's all change for the whole world i fear. I also feel far more for the animals, but we too will suffer with all the crop failure around the world.

13C at 10 am. Risk of strong thunderstorms, but I think they are passing to the south of us across Lake Superior again. I haven't put the heat on, and my old tabby crawled under my blankets last night in protest.

Gotta love those moggies. Mine won't share my bed in this weather as it's too hot to be indoors.

Hot again today here and yes, the moggies are outside. Don't see sight nor sound from them. I know they are under the bushes in the shade being suitably lazy. Am loving this Summer.

I did not need to put on the fire last night as things are warming up. It is noticeably warmer this morning, but it feels like it could rain 22C. If it does then the warm up will probably be short lived.

25c ish. and the breeze is making it more comfortable to move around outdoors. There are literally thousands of people along the coast and not a parking space to be had for 4-5 miles. Not that we needed one thankfully.I'm not going to be spiteful, folk are entitled to enjoy good weather, but I'm really looking forward to Autumn......

27c today , winds from the north west causing the high winter temps. Already the fire season has started. The warm winter scares me for what it will mean for summer. With el-nino predicted and the drought already ramping up it promises to be an interesting summer. We will always get some rain but it usually coincides with a weather event like a cyclone. The rain is usually torrential but short in duration. That is followed by a burst of vegetation growth which quickly dries out and results in more fires. I wish our governments would bite the bullet and start building a lot more water storage areas, mainly smaller but deep dams which are not so prone to evaporation. We also have huge scope for solar powered desalination plants. Lack of water is and will always be our greatest threat to our way of life in Australia. It is almost past time to start insuring against it. Ron.

10 am and it's already 19C, should go up to 28C. The heat is back. It rained last night, and more in the forecast, so we'll have high humidity too. At least there's no fires in the area.

25c.Had a walk to the local weekend craft market earlier.Because it's under the glass and wrought iron roof of a Victorian railway station, the heat was stupid.Add to that crowds of locals and holiday makers walking and pushing in different directions,it was not the most enjoyable day of my life.It will be a while before I go back.I'm not a crowd / heat lover to begin with, but I always feel I should make an effort.Don't know why...….

Its a typical day for August, 22C this morning and it should turn out to be a summer day. Yesterday was a mixed bag, cool but humid with showers, I was able to spend time cutting wood. For the most part the biting flies are not the force they were a couple of weeks ago. Summer is moving along.

Lovely hot and sunny weather. My plants are struggling and hardly any flowers on my Fushias, just a couple here and there. No wildlife, no hedgies, small birds all vanished, hardly any Jackdaws, really weird. I want normal back. Lower temps to come from Wednesday. Awful fires everywhere in Europe and America, even the Arctic circle is suffering. Strange times.

sunny start but cloudy now and 20c.Short spits of rain but not amounting to more than a few random drops on the window. Our fuschia has an abundance of flowers but I think the hose is to be thanked for that.

We had our one day heatwave, 8 hours of it actually before the cold front swept it away. It gave me enough time for a drink on the deck, and wake up the airconditioner for a few hours. Up to 29 yesterday, but its scraping along at 14C with drizzle today.

Currently 18C at noon, supposed to go up to 25C in the afternoon. We had a wicked storm last evening, thunder, lightning, pouring rain and some hail, but it only lasted 30 minutes and the storm moved off over the lake. The birds disappeared here too, probably went to the rivers and creeks where there's water available during the drought. Hopefully they'll come back.

Very warm yesterday. I didn't feel too well at work. Got home and rested on the lounge. I am beginning to predict episodes pretty well now. At 6pm when I take my warfarin I also took a stematil . By 6.30 I was bathed in sweat and on the loo. When I could move I turned everything off and unlocked the front door. I put the phone on charge on the bedside charger. Then started the vomiting. In between bouts I managed to lay down and turn the lights off. I expected to have to call the ambulance but by 11.00 pm I had eased thanks to the stematil. I got up , took my normal meds and another stem and went back to bed. Feeling a bit better today. I really hate vertigo attacks but it is amazing how you work out plans to deal with illness. Warm again today. Ron.

Ron,it must be scarey being on your own while having a bad turn, but you seem to manage as best you can,and you know when it's time to get help.My old man's very good, but I try to keep things to myself as he does tend to panic. Sending hugs, cobber.

Oh,and Scott sent a pic.of his thermometer yesterday,early morning....1c !!!

21c here and promises that it will drop to 17c in a day or twu.Perfect for me.

Cool and damp. 10C and we had more rain overnight. Cut firewood yesterday in the unseasonably cold conditions. One area gets the heat, another area gets the cold. The forecast says we might get some warmth that will hang around later this week, but I am not holding my hopes up for it. The lakes are cold now, too cold for swimming.
Hang in there Ron, you are having a rough one to ride out. Keeping an eye on symptoms is a good survival tactic especially when living alone.

I havn't decided yet if I will cut wood, or move wood, but summer weather this is not.

Very hot and humid today. Bit of a rambunctious dust devil came by and ripped the flags and flag poles from above the shops and sent lighter debris high up. It's looking thundery out the front, however, i think the rain and storms might just miss us tomorrow (and tonight) which is a shame. Going to be cooler for a few days now. I think i'm pleased, Carol. I've almost forgotten about thermal vests, lol.

1C in Australia, who'd have thought it. CMack, pushing 40C is a tad too high. Hope the fires don't come anywhere near you.

22C and a cool wind, it was actually pleasant to go for a walk. The heat is supposed to pick up again tomorrow.

It says it's 19c on my lap-top but it feels a whole lot cooler. While out for a peddle I began to wonder if I should have brought a jacket, but I needn't have worried. It was lovely to feel a cooling breeze at last.

Much cooler today and i was thinking about a thermal vest, lol. Need some rain here, others are receiving it. Tomorrow we should get rain, but i think it's all we are due.

17c and just one short sharp shower so far. What we don't want are the floods the South of France are having. Some poor campers and caravaners, who have gone there for the nice weather, have been wiped out.

Still no rain on the east coast. Pouring over in Perth. The entire state of New South Wales has ben drought declared.. Haven't seen Ronroush on for some time I hope he is ok. Ron.

Speaking of Ronroush, Lynda has not been around here for a while now too. i hope everybody is doing okay.
23C and it appears to be another good day. We could some warm dry weather to get the gardens to finish growing and ripen up. Its been wet too long, things start to rot, and those huge ugly garden slugs start showing up.

Welcome, Jason.

I too hope Ronroush is fine and noticed Lynda has dropped of the weather radar too. Hope both are fine.

The Australian drought has been on our news lately, Ron50.

The sun is back today but tomorrow the rain is back, apparently.

It is really dry Di, the qld govt had to call for emergency water bombing aircraft yesterday. They lease them and this is the earliest that they have ever been needed. There are complete fire bans in force from midnight tonight and that includes all barbecues. The fire rating for tomorrow is critical with strong hot northerly winds expected. Ron.

Ditto re: Ron and Lynda. It is worrying when regular friends disappear off the radar.
There are a few old friends missing from LOWs too.We can only hope they're having a busy enjoyable time and will show up soon.

20c here with a nice cool breeze,BUT we are threatened with another heat wave in a week or two....fandabidozzie !!!

Welcome Jason, my hopes go out to those who have not been around. 19C and struggling for 20C. Meanwhile last night's thunderstorm deflated the expected heatwave. We need some warm dry weather, I'd gladly hand over the rains we are constantly being assaulted with.

It seems that while one area gets drought, another gets the excessive rains.

Over 50 fires burning in SE qld today , half under control the other half expected to cause problems tomorrow. Winds are dropping over night but only expecting 20-25% humidity. Glad you are getting some proper rain Carol. Ron.

Rain here and gloomy too. Feels more like October/November. Am now thinking about thermal vests lol. Thick woolly over brushed cotton shirt at the moment, feet cold and fingers going numb. Let's hope for that heatwave Carol. I know you suffer but i am enjoying the better Summer here. Still no small birds, no hedgies, but the grass is already becoming greener. Amazing how quickly that happens.

Ron50. It is sad about SE Queensland. Seems very hot for Winter there. You don't need the heat through Winter as well as Summer, mind, i wouldn't complain.

Its starting out to be a hot day, they claim it will reach the low 30's. My take on this is We'll see; getting hot weather here is becoming a rarity, it seems other areas get the heat, and we are constantly in a trough of the jet stream.

On the upside, forest fires have been very few compared to the raging blazes I read about in the news. My worry is about the lack of fires for several years will lead to a fuel build up in our forests creating a possible firestorm in the future if we get a dry year.

dry , northerlies picking up during the week. Sure to rekindle existing fires and star new ones . warming up for the weekend. Spring (summer) is almost here. Sick of not getting out fishing so I bought myself a kayak last week. Going for my first fish on Friday. At least I can sneak around the estuaries and dams and not get into too much trouble. Ron.

Really hot when the sun comes out. Some showers though. Cannot believe that two days of rain has brought my grass back to such a wonderful green. Was totally brown.
