What is YOUR weather like today??

Its been trending colder than normal with bouts of showers that turn to flurries. The nights are getting cold enough to form ice in the pail. We do not have any active volcanos, but there has been unusual activity from the geysers at Yellowstone which is a sleeping volcano. Scientists are not sure and say not to worry, having said that nobody knows for sure when it comes to seismology.

Some scientists say don't worry others say that Yellowstone is a super volcano that is due to erupt. Pity they haven't figured a way to put pressure relief valves on some of the worlds most dangerous seismic areas. Mind you they also tell us that if we did not have a molten core there probably would be no life on earth. I guess we have to just sit back and enjoy the ride, Ron.

I've been watching videos on youtube for Yellowstone National Park. Things are changing there a bit, but who knows.

Sunny today, but i put my heating on for half an hour as the Raynaud's is playing up.

Our rain stopped overnight. It was a cool day tho I spent most of it at work finishing off the school machines . It was a public holiday today but at least it kept the customers out of my hair. I'm really sad for those in the earthquake//tsunami region , the report today said the toll was up over 1200 and some areas they have not even been able to reach yet. Both events were killers , the quake was bad enough then to have a 3+ metre wall of water wash over you when you are trapped under rubble has to be pure horror. I hope the world gets behind them and sends all the help they need. Ron.

I took a little break :) It's getting cold here, the furnace is on. No snow yet, but it's coming. Seems like winter is coming early this year. Daytime it's around 10C but at night it's dropping close to zero. I picked my last zucchinis today, the garden is done. Amazing what a little plastic can do to extend the season.

Nice to see you Tuff.....10c here and blustery. There has been very little change for over a week.Dark earlier in the evenings. It's nice to cosy down with the lamps on,instead of thinking I should be doing something while the sun shines.

I watched the videos of the Tsunami coming in and couldn't believe how many people were curious enough to keep walking down to the shore of the beach while the water was low and the big wave was building further out. For most of them it was certain death.

Quiet here, I tarped the big pile, and am ready for the winter. I still have to clean up from the early snow storm that brought down trees a couple of weeks ago.

8C this morning, overcast and drizzling. On radar, there's more rain heading our way. We have a weather warning in effect. Strong winds expected tonight with a cold front moving in. I hope it doesn't snow. Calgary got 35 cm of snow and are asking for help. 0_0

Is Calgary in the UK Tuff ? hahaha. That's what happens over here when we have a "flurry"
14c today and grey.I see there's been another 'quake in Indonesia.Don't know the details yet.

Guess who's not receiving notifications?

Was nice enough yesterday but with low clouds. Don't know about today as it's still dark out. I expect i would be calling it cold when actually it's just probably chilly.

I have seen videos of Calgary, Tuff. Looks awful. We don't want that Carol, lol. Ron50 might love it for a refreshing change.

I think Indonesia has a volcanic eruption now. They're suffering as much as the Japanese lately. I'm glad we're safe here in the UK.

17c and cloudy.Forecast for the weekend is wet and windy with cooler temps,so if you've anything outdoorsy to do D., get crackin'.

11 am and only 4C. I woke up at 1:30 am to the wind hitting my house. The power went off, dunno for how long. This morning I had to reboot my wifi. Apparently some power lines went down. Snow is in the forecast for next week. It's too early!

We had quite the wind storm followed by a dusting of snow last night. Power went out late in the evening, got the generator running. Shut it down for 6 hours during the night, and now it running. Most people are out in the area, good thing I bought gas recently, its a big outage. Having said that, they are no problem with the advent of the household generator.

Rain and storms predicted for tomorrow. It may start tonight. I hope we get a bit of quality rain. Ron.

2C and rain. Dismal here too. Apparently in some parts of town it's snowing, I'm right next to the lake so it's warmer here.

No Rain today. We will see what tomorrow brings. I am not holding my breath. They said we would get around 25mm today but not a drop. Up north on the Atherton tableland they have had some bad fires . They put them out then a few days later they start up again. Apparently it is so dry the tree roots are burning underground. The fire pops up to the surface and starts another fire. Ron.

You're up early Ron,you OK ?

You certainly could use rain over there, except running down the hill out the back of course.I will don my wellies (gumboots) hoist my brolly (umbrella) and do a rain dance after dark.....:dusty: ;)

Power is still off now after 36 hours. The old generator has been providing reliable power for the house. I shut it down last night for 8 hours and the fridge does not like that, I slept longer than I should have. I needed the rest, but should have got up earlier to start it, and go back to bed like yesterday.

Its snowing too, with about 4 cms. It looks more and more like we will get an early winter.

The only bad thing here in the East Midlands is a swarm of white fly.

Ron50, that sounds awful with the tree roots. Just terrible. As for the expected rain i imagine you don't want welly boots and buckets either though.

Winter has come early in Canada they say. It's also happening early in Europe. I'm not complaining about anything although we are having rain tomorrow.

My right hip is causing me some serious grief at the moment carol. It feels like bone on bone. For years I have had seronegative poly arthritis (psoriatic arthritis they think) Everything I have now is auto immune so there is no use complaining. If cyclosporine doesn't help I guess nothing will. I can never get comfortable in bed, the pain keeps waking me and I am not allowed to take any painkillers. Life goes on .
Buff and Tuff I hope this coming winter is not too severe. Di you may just have to become a surfer and follow the endless summer around the world. Ron.

9c and feels like it.The sun has just showed it's face from behind the clouds (12-55pm)

But fear not D., 16c mid-week.
News says Brit homes are being invaded by Ladybirds (Ladybugs).I'm sure it has something to do with this summers heatwave.Does anybody know where I can get Aphids to fatten them up before hibernation ?

Ron how about a hot water bottle placed on the pain ? not ideal in your neck of the woods I know. I find that a rub in cream like Deep Heat sometimes helps, although for me a strong over the counter pain killer works better.Yesterday I bought Deep Freeze to try.God loves a trier....

Raining most of the day and quite a bit of water about. A very dull day with low, depressing cloud cover. Not a good day really. I think SAD might be taking hold.

I should definitely learn to surf, Ron50. I'd love the heat in Aus, but not the shark infested waters lol. Am sorry you're feeling the hip pain. It's my back and neck that wake me up each time i turn over, oh, apart from the cat on the pillow next to me.

Canada seems to have plenty of cold weather and snow so far this early winter, even the Russians are talking about just how much they have. I hear crops have been very hard hit around the world too. Am i grateful for the liquid feed!

Will look forwards to a midweek rise in temps, and hopefully a tad of sunshine.

9C and cloudy, with a cold wind. I'm not looking forward to winter at all, looks like it's going to be a long one again. Trying to figure out where to move...
I was reading that Britain had a bad year for potatoes, what are you going to do for fish and chips!!

The cost of fish and chips is going up, Tuff. I eat bland potatoes and managed to grow a few pea sized spuds this year. What a failure, lol.

It's much brighter out today and it's certainly not raining. I'm actually feeling a tad better also. I have had the heating on for half an hour mornings and nights so far. I shouldn't complain as i think the Canadians are going to live this winter with beastly cold and snow. Stay safe in Canada.

Ron50, i see a Brit died of sea snake. No end to the animal killers in Aus. We're pretty safe here. The occasional adder may cause harm but we don't have anything worse than some peoples dogs.

The idea Di is to bite them first. I always remember a line from one of the Expendables movies . Stallone and chuck Norris were talking after a chance meeting and Sly said to Norris I thought you got bitten by a cobra. Norris replied , I did, but after five days of unbearable pain, the cobra died. I am truly surprised that someone died from a sea snake bite. They are built to eat fish and although highly venomous they don't have an adequate delivery mechanism to get their venom into people. They are rear fanged unlike land snakes with front fangs and have to chew on their victim to administer the poison. Very unlucky person. Ron.

He was working on a fishing boat Ron.He had been hauling nets 70mls south of Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory. He was tying the cod end rope that holds the net closed. The crew did their best for him while waiting for help, but he died in agony as body shut down 2hrs later.Backpacker 23yrs old.

11c and grey.Feels colder in the wind. We've been for a peddle for a couple of hours, but boy,am I happy to be home.NOTE TO SELF....must get some fur lined leggings.

4C and they're predicting rain for a week, possibly snow. Everyone I know is worried about what kind of winter we're going to get. Pneumonia is already going around. I'm really trying to be careful not to catch anything, since I'm immune suppressed.

The weather has been changeable but cold, the kind that gets my arthritis going, as Ron mentions its both age and auto immune and not much can be done. My neck has been bad lately. Feeling better yesterday, I did a supply run including fuel. Furnace oil is way up this year adding to the pain, gasoline is not much different. Knowing I have fuel on hand feels good, when the weather goes bad I can be isolated cut off from hydro and sometimes the road is too risky for travel.

Today will be the only one without rain or snow in the forecast, going to work outside today, it maybe indoor living this week with how the weather forecast is looking. Its Thanksgiving weekend, I hope you are all having one too. I will roast a chicken later.

It's not to bad a day, pretty moderate.....BUT, forecast for a rise in temp.by the end of the week for maybe ten days.16c to 20s,warmer down south.Could be the warmest October in 7yrs.

6C and rainy. My nephew's birthday is at the end of the month. This is the first year I remember that it snowed before his birthday. Sometimes the snow doesn't come until just before Christmas.

We had a couple of thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and evening. I spent the day in bed yesterday with a vertigo attack. Fortunately I always have stemitil on hand. Not feeling good today but a lot better than yesterday. Temps around 29c today but cooler with showers by Thursday. Ron.

Yes Carol all the school machines were picked up today, ready for another year of abuse. I am getting sick of these vertigo attacks. I dislike throwing up at the best of times and It was my fourth attack for the year. The doctors are no closer to telling me why. We had two super cells pass thru tonight. Lots of wind, hail and torrential rain. I have just finished mopping up the toilet, bathroom ,laundry and bedroom. It will be 31c tomorrow and more storms. Ron.

I think both you and Buff. need what is known over here as "A careless housekeeper".I'll have a word with Di., for you Ron,but I'm not sure who would volunteer for your neck of the woods Buff.

I hope you have a restful night Ron.

I'm not sure about my neck of the woods either Carol . The lady I work with went out to hang her washing on Saturday. She felt a bump on her leg . She looked down and there was an eastern brown snake trying to get its fangs out of her jeans. Fortunately they did not get thru to the skin. The trouble with Australia is everything wants to bite you. Ron.( eastern browns are one of our most venomous land snakes).

What's a careless housekeeper? Ron I don't know how you all manage with the snakes, spiders, sharks....I'd never go outside.
We have 4C and another weather warning. Significant rainfall with total amounts approaching 50 mm are possible overnight into Wednesday. We don't normally have warnings week after week.

Bloody hell Ron !!! We watch a lot of Aussie TV shows because our Scott's over there as you know, and the be honest I can't see the attraction. No offence meant,I know it's your homeland. The city's around the coasts are much the same as cities worldwide, but the interior looks like hell on earth to me.And like you say, everything wants to bite you,eat you or / and cause you a long painful death. We were watching Mystery Rd.and a bloke was having an afternoon snooze on the veranda.I wouldn't do that unless I'd hoovered, brushed and sprayed it with something powerful....I can see you rolling your eyes and thinking " bloody pom " hahaha

1C wtih light rains,

Ron I get vertigo attacks too, had one last week which forced me to return to the house when the whole world spun when trying to drive, and not pretty with the vomiting. Doctors don't know why, they checked my heart, ears etc. they believe it has to do with nerves, nurolotical as they call it. Sorry for the spelling, even spell check cannot find the right word.
Carol, a housekeeper would be more than welcome around here. I need to have a snooze.

Still no notifications.

Lovely out today, and to think i had my Scottish Aron woolly on! Typical me. Yes, and thermal vest.

My sister gets Vestibular migraines. She can't move without throwing up. Has to crawl to the toilet. Sounds like what Ron and Buff have.

I'm not sure i could be doing with all those beasties in my garden or anywhere really. I curse at a gnat. Definitely pom material me.

Am going to enjoy hot weather tomorrow before the rain pulls in again. Hope to do a tad in the garden. That's if the arthritic neck and shoulders will allow.

I know what you are going thru Buff , there is nothing worse than the onset of the giddiness and the absolute certainty that in a short time you will be heaving your heart up. I use stemetil , it takes care of the nausea and returns my sense of balance. Trouble is you can only take a short course of it . I never take more than four tablets during an event. The stuff is basically an anti physcotic and anti anxiety drug. It rapidly becomes addictive and if used for too long you have to wean off it to avoid withdrawell. Even when I go to hospital they give me Zofran and a shot of stemetil. I have had four or five bouts this year the worst one was in Jan when they also dxed atrial flutter and atrial fib and put me on warfarin. They said the vertigo caused the heart problems , not the other way around. In the older population where I live, with constant heat waves , vertigo was rife this past year at nearly four times normal levels. Ron.

Ridiculously warm for this time of year and no breeze.I had to hunt out a shirt to wear to the dentists.Enjoy it D., it ain't gonna last.

3C, wind and rain. There's still a rainfall warning in effect for today. Yesterday most of it went to the south of us. To the north of us, they're expecting 30cm of snow.

-1C and the rain went to freezing rain and now becoming snow. I think we may luck out with the rain moving south of the area, we sure had enough rain and ice pellets last night.
My vertigo attack more likely was connected to another gallbladder attack, I was not bothered by abdominal pain when the vertigo came on, but my gallbladder was soar the next day and i felt like garbage over the weekend, no strength whatsoever. Yesterday I got a break, I felt like myself, went for a good walk and had strength for a change and was not bothered by the damp cold. I noticed the pain had passed, decent bowel movements too.

I'll take the break while it lasts.

Terrible night , two super cells formed 150 kliks in from the coast. By the time they reached the hinterland behind the coast they were as scary as anything I have seen . The central core was black on the radar. The colours go from light blue for the light rain thru yellow and brown to black for heavy rain and hail. We get some bad storms but I have never seen black on the radar before. A town to the north ,Gympie , got hammered and at a small town west of them the tornado alert wet off. It was a genuine tornado and ripped the place up pretty bad. I have never heard of a tornado alert ever being sounded before in our neck of the woods. We have had a couple hit Hervey bay but they were water spouts that came ashore. The hail that hit Gympie was the size of tennis balls. Ron.

It's a mild and blustery 17c today.Parts of the south got up to 25c yesterday.Made the most of the weather and went for a bike ride earlier.Storm Callum on the way tomorrow. But of course it won't be any where near what's occurring elsewhere in the world.Spain had a real nasty deluge with loss of life, yesteday. That's a bit too close to home.

1C and cloudy. To the north and west of us they are getting snow and freezing rain. We have been lucky so far and just got a drizzle. My climbing rose got two flowers on it, it must be confused or something....

The ice pellets and freezing rain turned to snow overnight with about 4 or 5 cms on the ground and its coming down gently. The fire really got going this morning and it got a bit tense as it gave the chimney a cleaning burning it out, but short of being chimney fire. I had not had a good hot fire in a few days, and it should get a good hot burn each time I light it to keep the stack clear of creosote. Dry wood is key, but lately some of it has been wet.

So much for there will be no drought breaking rains in SE Qld. There is a flood warning current for Gladstone to the Qld border. That covers all the coastal rivers for around 500 miles. We had constant rain in Nambour all day today and it is expected to get heavier tonight. They are expecting our total to reach around 200 mm by Sunday. Then there is a real chance of an east coast low forming over Frazer island by Monday. More rain.
One of our wildlife rangers was killed by a croc in the northern territory today. She went missing whilst fishing with her family. They found her and the croc a couple of kliks upstream from where she went missing. They destroyed the croc.Ron.

1C and partly cloudy. We got lucky, the snow storm went to the north of us, and the rain storm went to the south of us. The rest of the week should be warmer yet.

Mild again but very windy. The leaves are coming down from the trees like a blizzard.
One or two showers, but not lasting more than a minute due to the wind.

I know that feeling too Carol. I bought some sugar free fruit drops from the chemist the other day. It was only after I had fished the tin that I read "don't eat more than five a day as they may have a laxative effect''. MAY !!!! I could hit the eye of a needle at fifty paces. And it is still pouring rain. Ron.

-3 this morning, supposed to go up to +6. To the west of us, there is a big snow storm on radar, heading this way. Hopefully we will get it as rain. I'm not ready for snow yet. The leaves are almost all off, and I need to do some more raking.

The leaves are falling here too. Very blustery out there but not as much rain as forecast. I'm grateful for that. My body feels the weather changes. Lot's of Fushias coming into flower. They did that this time last year.

Everything is white here and its below the freezing mark. They are calling for snow possibly mixing into rain. I hope it comes as snow at this point. I find life easier when its below the freezing mark than that damp cold that cuts to the bone when it sits just slightly above the freezing mark, leaving everything damp and wet. I am ready for winter, and look forward to a long afternoon ski.

It is still raining heavily and I am still bailing from time to time. I'm glad that it has been on a weekend. I have too much work on to come home early to bail a flooded unit. Ron.

An east coast low formed off Frazer Island on Saturday night. As a result we have had steady rain blowing ashore all day today. I got very tired of mopping and bailing. The unit stinks like a swamp thanks to the wet cement walls. Not Happy. Ron.

That's not good Ron,especially with vertigo etc.At a risk of stating the bleeding obvious, could you not rig a pump using a generator ?

10c and a wet morning, but now that I'm home and dry from a walk to the market......it's stopped

A portable sump pump and a generator would do the job. As an added measure a dehumidifier will dry up the air to prevent mold which can trigger misery in the form of allergies and various ills that can be serious and make Crohn's worse.

3C and cloudy. Another snow storm passed to the south of us, we haven't got any yet. On Thursday it's supposed to go up to +14.

My problem is that the back wall of my unit is around 12 foot under ground with a length of around 30ft. At the back there is a concrete path and another 10ft concrete retaining wall. It has a series of pressure relief holes . The water is currently jetting out of them. I have suggested a lot of solutions to the owners but they are not interested in spending any money. The other stink in the unit is the clove oil and vinegar I use to stop the mold. If I could find affordable accommodation I would shift. This part of Australia is a major resort area and lots of people are moving here for that reason. It keeps rents high and availability low. I was lucky or unlucky enough to be born here so I don't really want to move. Ron.( And it is still raining.)

4c and calm.Coldest so far but warming up during the week again.Have put the summer jackets away and got the Autumn / winter ones out.The good thing about this time of year is I can go out like a hobo underneath a tidy coat.Summer means dressing up in case you meet an old friend while shopping.

Yesterday I had strength and felt more like my old self for a change. I worked on clearing the fallen trees on the trail and made good progress. I have a huge widowmaker I may drop today, its a big dead tree hanging over the trail ready to fall. Lots of good dry firewood, which I need since the temperatures have been below normal with the early snows.

3C and cloudy. It was snowing this morning when I woke up, but it's already melted away.
Be careful with that widowmaker Buff, they're called that for a reason.

Don't worry Di , plants are very patient. More rain here today and the east coast low has whipped up huge seas. Unfortunately they claimed the life of a surfer yesterday up at Noosa. Always sad when it happens. Ron.

Nice day here.Temp.got up to 15c with plenty sunshine and a light breeze...the trees are looking beautiful in their Autumn colours.

The tree took longer than expected but its down. Unfortunately it was still green, so it must dry out first, so its wood for next season. Nothing comes easy, having said that I still enjoyed the late autumn afternoon.

3C and raining. Supposedly going up to 15 on Thursday, that would be nice.
Buff I know a man who broke his hip taking down a widowmaker, it fell on him. Glad it worked out ok.

No change here.12c and rising (10-30am) no wing. It's dark by 6-30pm and darkening by 4mins every day.Clocks go back one hour on the last weekend of the month.

It's -1 and sunny with some scattered clouds. Sunrise 8:21, sunset 7:03. We're on level with Paris, but don't have the Gulf Stream to warm us up. When I was working, I found the time change really hard. In Finland they are getting rid of it, and debating where to set the clocks permanently.

-5. Sunrise 7:15 Am , sets at 6pm with fresh snow on the ground with chill in the wind. I love the longer evenings we get now, but I sure don't like the darker mornings. Wish they would leave it on standard time year round to put light into the mornings.

At this time of year I enjoy long evenings with the wood stove going at my cabin, but that's not happening with the tree that crushed half of the place when I got there yesterday. It will take a while to sort out what to do with the damage.

13c lovely day.Did 12mls on the bikes, accidentaly. We got lost after asking directions from some fool who obviously didn't know where the hell he was.Ended up cycling through the woods, but there were rough tracks and lots of muddy puddles. Then hubby got a flat tyre, miles from where we needed to be.Home now and starting to get aches in places I didn't know I had...

Don't know why i'm not getting notifications anymore. Tis a tad annoying. Yep, close curtains at 6pm and street lights are on then too. Getting colder as well. Not enjoying this. Mood has taken a dip just to make things worse. Roll on Summer.

20C and sunny, a beautiful day. A bit windy so raking was pointless, but I tried. The leaves just blew all over the place.

Forgot to ask, how is Ronroush? Anyone know?

No word from him D., It's worrying. There are also a lot of regulars missing from the LOWs thread.I expect they're getting on with their lives.

13c and pretty much the same as the past week.

There's a little paragraph in today's Mirror saying that about 350,000 people have signed a petition requesting hedgie holes be put into all garden fences of new build homes,so they can wander and feed and breed...….not before time.

Why does there always have to be a petition for common sense ?

It was probably started by a little hedgie that found a laptop . Still lots of heavy showers around . They are expecting 33c on Sunday. I haven't been out in the Yak for a few weeks . I have a pain in my right hip and back that just about stops me from walking. I saw my doctor about it . He asked when It started and I told him Id had it off and on for years. He made it obvious that he dose not care. I really dislike the mentality that the medical professions seems to have adopted. Ron.

12C this morning, supposed to go up to 15C. Partly cloudy but the sun is shining. I'm going to go for another walk today, enjoy it while I can.
Scottsma there are probably people who value their lawn more than the cute hedgies. My skunk digs holes as well, looking for worms. I don't care.
Ron there's something called hip dysplasia. If you were swaddled as a child, that can slightly dislocate the hip. Then when you're older, you start to have pains. My right hip comes and goes as well.

I have had many experiences with doctors who have a hollier than thou attitude over the years. At the moment I am lucky to have a family doctor who understands. The past few days have been very taxing on my body and I need to rest. We had a very warm day and it took whatever snow we had, but it is to be short lived. Colder air is coming, but luckily it appears to be a dry front coming through.

Please don't overdo things Buff. I am well aware of what it is like to be chronically ill , getting on in age and living alone. Life still goes on and things still have to get done. There are times when even the most important needs have to take second place to our health. We generally learn to do things smarter. Stay safe mate.
Another hot overcast day. A lot of the east coast will receive severe thunder storms today , our turn tomorrow.
Another shark attack yesterday off a Newcastle beach. The victim was hit on the upper arm and shoulder and is in a stable condition. Rangers reported that a dead sperm whale had washed ashore in the area so the poor guy had been swimming in the dining room. Ron. ps Welcome chronically positive, I'm sorry you have had to cope with chronic illness from such a young age , hugs Ron.

17c and sunny.....Having a bad couple of days so being lazy.Although I have an easy life compared to some, you know who you are,I sometimes push myself just to prove that I can,and it's definitely not the right option.

Those little hedgepiggies are clever little critters. I haven't seen my little one for a few days now. Well done those that have signed the petition.

Lovely and sunny today and warm too. Going to be nice next week although getting colder.

I'm having a lazy time too. My stricture is very sore at the moment. Ron, i too have issues with docs who can't be bothered and think they are holier than thou. So i'm not going to see my specialist. He's one of the few i've seen over my 44 years of visiting gastroenterology that i really don't like. So i'm suffering silently. The joints don't get any better either. I can identify with bone/joint issues.

Take it easy all. I think we need the positivity of Chronically.

-2 but a bright, bright, sunshiney day. It's supposed to warm up a few degrees. This up and down temperature is difficult to dress for.

-6 and here too its bright, sunny with a dusting of snow on everything. The day is yelling at me to get out to the cabin and work. My body is relluctant, yet I am willing to do a short afternoon effort to repair the wall in preparation to replace studs and then trusses later.

Ron I took the day off yesterday, I moved some wood but that was all, the body reminds me of my limits, its sometimes hard to accept this in the case when things go wrong. There is less pressure with the damage happening in the fall when the animals and vermin are slowing down and getting their existing dens ready. If this happened in spring, there would be urgency to get the holes repaired as the animals are aggressively nesting and looking for new places to move in. It would take little for mother nature to overtake the cabin.

Sunny and not exactly cold either. Feeling less of the SAD. The images of how you say your lovely weather with slight snow on the ground sounds stunning. I'm a tad jealous, lol.

Another nice day so off for a pedal soon, while we can.

What's the difference between a surgeon and God ?

God doesn't think He's a surgeon...

Looks like it could snow, I went out to the cabin yesterday afternoon, and upon further investigation the damage is far worse. The whole back half of the place is on the verge of collapse, there is nothing I can do with the wall. A complete rebuild will be needed. I am not sure if I am going to go through with it, but will weigh my options.

-5 this morning, should go up to +9C. Nice and sunny.
Apparently that early snow storm on the prairies halted the harvest, and they have 3 billion worth of crops still in the fields. Hopefully it will dry out so they can get them off.

11c. sunny and breezy.Another bike ride through the falling leaves, which was great. It's forecast for cold and windy by mid-week.In fact what they actually said was "It's going to be a shock to the system"....can't say we haven't been warned.

Nice bright sunny fall day, I have some energy and want to take another look at the damage at the cabin and use all options before going further. Slow and easy on such things is the way to go and allows time to think it through.

Way to go Buff , like you said at least it has happened at the right season with less chance of the wildlife getting in unless something is looking for somewhere nice to hibernate. Best of luck with it, Ron.
We are expecting some warm weather with 33c on Friday with the likelihood of more severe storms. Ron.
