What is YOUR weather like today??

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

2C and cloudy, with rain in the forecast for the rest of the week. Three large earthquakes in BC, hope you weren't affected cmack.

If I remember my history Carol an Earthquake of 9.4 the second largest recorded hit Anchorage Alaska in 1964 . It liquified the substrata under Anchorage and a lot of the city fell into the hole. Todays quake in BC Canada was 6.5 and there was one near Anchorage Alaska of 6.8. I hope all of our Canadian friends are safe. Fine and hot here today. Ron.

Thanks for the info.Ron. There was no mention of it on our international news last night, but with the "Brexit" carry on it's not surprising. There might be something in todays paper.....11c sunny and less windy than yesterday.

I had a busy day at the cabin followed by a day of rest. Today I will go at it again. After jacking up and leveling the floor things looked better. I am moving everything out of the damaged area, then I will cordon it off with a tarp and basically rebuild the roof and reinforce the walls affected. I am going to take my time with it.
-2 and partly cloudy.

2c and cloudy here. We haven't felt any quakes, I hope it stays that way. We have had several here in the past that made the lamps start to swing...that get's scary. I hope everyone is safe.

12c and cloudy after a fine start. It will start to go downhill later this arvo as the temp.drops, but nothing like temps, elsewhere. On the plus side,we're having stunning sunsets here on the east coast so every cloud has a silver lining....or a red and orange one

Winds swinging to the north west tomorrow and temps rising into the mid thirties. It will be a hot weekend then a change thru on Monday and down to 24c.Ron.

+2, cloudy and drizzling. I hope we don't get the tail end of hurricane Willa, we usually do. I think it's been downgraded already.

I have found you all in my spam. You are honourably retrieved.

Buff, sorry to hear about the cabin. Yep, work very slowly. That's all i ever do.
Haven't heard anything of the quakes in Canada on news or in papers. Not much on youtube vids either. Weird. They're hiding them.

Dull and colder today. Set for much colder weather apparently.

I've never experienced a quake, and from the description I don't want to. Sounds scary when everything that should be solid is not.

One board, one fastener at a time is a good pace for me as I cannot go any faster than that, and add in lots of short rests in between. I maybe weak, but I am steady and determined. The determined part is one of my weaknesses, sometimes I don't know when to let it go, but then again, isn't that the basic strength of life that keeps us all going.

36c in town today and 45 % humidity. Cooler tomorrow but not much. Had some physio on my back and hip today. He looked at my x-rays and a previous mri. He does not think it is bursitis more likely compressed vertebrae resting on nerves. hopeful it may help. Ron.

Gray, some wet flurries 1C. Yesterday was a long day, I had the truck in for the annual rustproofing. It took longer this time since I had the undercarriage steam cleaned. While waiting I picked up some hardware for the cabin and then returned later with the truck for the wood.

I am making a light day of it after yesterday.

6c but feeling much colder in the wind.Friends who live half an hour away have snow but they're slightly elevated...…..and so it begins.

You speak so much of what us Crohnies think and live, Buff. I'm feeling for you. Hope it all works out one small move at a time, friend.

It's a tad cold. Still in bed today. So poorly. Not a word i like to describe me. I'm far more Carol on the bike each day. And so it goes on, year after year. No blue skies, no sun. But nothing out of the ordinary, world-wide.

Had to retrieve you from the spam again.

7C and overcast. Another storm passed to the south of us. The tail end of the hurricane should hit Southern Ontario today and tomorrow. We'll see if we get any of that snow. I'm resting today, I did my MTX shot last night, and it wipes me out for an entire day. At least it keeps my Crohn's in check. My doctor halved the dose, so we'll see what happens.

Its wet and gray again, but now instead of flurries its been more soaking rains we don't need, the land cannot take anymore. Two days where I cannot work on the cabin, some rest time for me, but the clock is ticking for the big snows that will come.

Another hot day with storms likely this afternoon. Hope things improve for you before the snows set in Buff, at least so you can get some tarps in place.
I feel for you Tuff I used to give myself mtx injections once a week for a couple of years. It always made me sick for a couple of days even taking megafol and later leucovorin. I'm on cyclosporine twice a day now.
I'm ordering a long summer for you next year Di, Hugs ron.

Heavy rain during the night but not a bad day now. We've had a walk through the park to the Sunday market but did a quick turnaround and came home.Far too crowded, and the low sun shining through the Victorian glass roof was really annoying.Home now for a lazy afternoon with the papers and a binge watch of The Walking Dead...

Di., Log in to bighedgehogmap.org.

They want to know how many are seen, alive or dead,in what areas.

Thought you might be interested.Hope you're keeping warm.

More rain again. The rain stopped yesterday afternoon allowing me to move lumber to the cabin. On cloudy days at this time of year with the low angle of the sun the day is quite dark, comparable to dusk.

Well, it's well and truly dark now with the clocks gone back, but it has been sunny today. Not feeling too well with the very sore stricture so had another lazy day.

I think that map is from hedgehog street. I have labelled my area on there but with my piggies vanishing it seemed a little futile. A town 15 miles away is taking in lots of baby hedgehogs, as are other rescues. I'm learning some and would like to set up a small rescue in the future.

Sounds like winter is about to hit big time, Buff. Hope you manage to save the cabin. Must admit i've had my heating on for a few hours today.

Woke to early drizzle and overcast. On Sat night the old lady upstairs decided to do her dishes around ten pm . She got side tracked and her kitchen sink overflowed . My bathroom and toilet area got nicely flooded, sigh . Ron.

5C and partly cloudy, but the sun is shining. The ground is all wet, so we had some rain, but I didn't hear a thing.

Ron,I hope the silly old biddy made you a pie or casserole to make up for it....Tell her I said so....7c and sparkly bright. We had a cycle up the coast, but it was really cold in the breeze.Rain on the way tomorrow, so thought we'd make an effort.Feel better soon Di.

Cars iced over until mid morning. Sunny though and cold again. Heating on. I'm grateful i don't live in a flat these days. I got a nice bungalow, well, at least i like it and have good neighbours. I agree, old biddy should cook you nice meal after you had to clean up after her.

She is constantly trying to drown me , I'm not about to let her poison me. Grey skies and nice and cool. So far all that physio has achieved is to make my back and hip spasms worse. as I am always telling my doctors "I can accept that you can't fix me , just don't make me worse! ". Stay warm northern hemmies, Ron.

I can understand your thinking, Ron. I hope things finally dry up at your place. Buff, hang in there bro! I was putting up some decorations for Halloween today and it was awfully wet. I hope some cute costumes come our way on Wednesday. It's currently 4c and expected to stay above zero tonight. The snow is coming whenever it bloody likes the way I see it. I just hope the kids have a fun time and not freeze themselves to a pumpkin full of firecrackers. ;)

7c and raining.....RON.it's 37c and full sun out west.I think the sun over there has addled our sons brain, otherwise why would he stay there ? I know his heart belongs in Blighty.

5C and raining. We get very few children trick or treating anymore, the parents don't want them to have all that candy. They have parties instead.

Fine and hot. Wherever you live Carol it costs you to stay cool or to keep warm. I certainly don't need a heater in winter and I get by with just fans in summer. Ron.

Lovely sunny day, but boy it's cold out there. Raynaud's is bad lately and the arthritis is feeling the change in season. Heating on virtually all day. Winter woollies are taking their time to dry out in this temperature. The cats don't come off my bed much either now.

Hot and getting hotter . Expecting over 35c by mid week. They say the heatwave could last a couple of weeks on the east coast. Not in the mood for a heatwave, my hip is still having spasms and still going to physio. Staring to think I should forget it and just go fishing. Ron.

2C and cloudy. At least we're missing all that rain Southern Ontario is getting. It's dark, cold and damp, my least favourite time of year. I need a cowichan sweater.

0C and cloudy. They're predicting snow, but it will probably pass us by again. One benefit to living next to a huge lake, it has it's own weather patterns.

Its been a tough grind, one board one screw at a time and finally...... A new roof over the damaged part of the cabin. Tarped for now, and will install roofing in the spring. Still lots of work to do but the place is safe for now. I cannot thank my neighbor enough for his generosity and hard work, I could not have done this work myself. I am all worn out from the effort of this ordeal. Today is a do nothing day of rest, my body needs one.

Ron, sometimes physio does not help, and just makes things worse. The weather gave us a short break, enough to get the work done, a few flurries. Today its on the freezing mark and the weather looks to be unsettled in the coming days with more bouts of snowflurries and perhaps a snow system next week.

I was just so happy to only get tiny sprinkles off and on on Halloween for trick or treatin' with my grand babies! And yea I finally got a new computer today at Costco. It's weird it has the old ten key numbers on the right side, there's a flash back. Didn't even notice on the one I played with at Costco, yep must be tired.

14c and a sunny morn.Grey now at 3-30pm and windy. Not looking good for the start of Guy Fawkes celebrations of bonfires and fireworks. My window blinds will be down and the TV turned up,but sometimes it can go on until 2am Also as the actual day isn't until the 5th.it will probably go on until Tues. I wouldn't care but most folk don't know what it's all about.Pets and wildlife really suffer.....

0C and cloudy. Rain predicted for the next three days, then snow. Here it comes. Winters here are quite sunny, but cold. I'll take the sunshine over gloomy days.

Cold and drizzly here. Dark around 4.50pm. Roll on the glitz of Christmas. The lights cheer me up until the beginning of January. Good firework display over the road last night. Can't understand how people afford it for their private gardens. Going to be a bit more mild this coming week so i'm looking forward to that, and no rain either.

We received 10 cms of snow through the evening and overnight. From the looks of the forecast going forward it looks like winter will be with us before week's end. Some of the smaller lakes are skimming over with ice.

Awful day , high temps and high humidity. It is not supposed to happen , supposedly high air temps cant sustain high humidity. Today was one of those days we refer to as stinking hot. There isn't an antiperspirant made that can stand up to this kind of heat. Ron. PS Another man was attacked by a shark at Cid Harbour in the whitsundays. same place as two previous attacks. He was airlifted to hospital on the mainland but unfortunately he passed away during last night. Ron.

1C and cloudy. A huge storm system passed just to the south of us again. The grass is still green, no snow on the ground.

2C with wet snowflurries. Its messy outside with a layer of wet snow from the previous day and dampness that feels raw to the bone. Once temperatures drop below the freezing point it will feel much better without the raw dampness. We are expected to get a few centimeters of snow followed by colder air. I'll be glad to see the ground freeze and firm up.

Sydney, Australia, 8:26a.m. (None DST as I'm no longer playing the games that disconnect me from nature's clock and my body), 21c, overcast. Good post... I like the attention to detail. :) Nice to see you, welcome. :)

Hot and sticky. A rain band passing thru tomorrow but little rain expected. It is 10.30 pm and still around 30c sitting at my puter. Ron.

Temps have dropped overnight, thank goodness. A lot of tributes on the media yesterday for the latest shark attack victim. He was a young neurologist and neuro surgeon from Victoria. He was holidaying in the whitsundays with a group of doctors and surgeons. Despite their best efforts he was too badly injured to survive. Ron.

I also saw it online Ron..I know there's not many good ways to die but that's got to be one of the most terrifying.

8c today.Pretty boring really.

Actually sunny today, but really quite windy. I thought i'd retrieved you from the spam bin, but google doesn't think you're fit for that, lol.

Leaves have fallen fast and furious lately. Time to prune and tidy the garden too.

Very mild weather for us 25c again tomorrow. Appears to have been a terrorist attack in Melbourne this afternoon. Guy drove his car into the centre of town and set fire to it . He stabbed three people (two injured and one fatal) before the police shot and killed him. It isn't just the weather , the world is changing rapidly and I don't much like it. Ron.

I'm with you there Ron.Earth is such a beautiful planet but every thing is really going to hell in a hand cart.I can't see any way of getting out of the mess we're in.It's gone too far.

10c and still boring here.

What with the shooting in the US, an now Melbourne, i too don't particularly like this world any longer. Thank God i'm not young today. I think we had it good when we were young.

Showery and overcast.

still boring at 11c.Lots of sun this morning but clouding over now....

I agree Wholeheartedly D.,I wouldn't want to be young and trying for a mortgage or/and rearing little ones....the best times for me was mid 60s until the Millenium. We did struggle sometimes but we didn't live in fear of the future.

I don't like whats becoming of the world either. Its become one big cage and people are breaking down with in its confines.

Winterlike, brilliant cobalt blue skies -15C with about 5 cms of snow on the ground, the smaller lakes are frozen

-6 and the grass is still green. Problem is, if there is no snow cover by the time it goes to -30, I will lose some more perennials.
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Sunny an getting milder midweek. Hopefully no rain either. My fushias have been frost bitten and look terrible. I have no idea why they flower in Autumn since i moved from Cornwall. It's really sad that i don't get a display until October, but most of the buds are killed off with cold.

11c and a really lovely day.Went for a cycle along the river and there were lots of people having a walk, and a good few cyclists too. There are a few fish and chip shops close by so what can be nicer than a stroll and a stop for lunch. Many of the fish filliting shops have turned into food outlets which is a shame, although we do still have a small fishing fleet but nowhere near what there was......

-6 and a few cm of the white stuff on the ground. It should go up to +6 by Thursday, so I don't think it's staying.
We used to have a cod fishery for like 500 years, then in the early 90's there was a moratorium and the fishery was practically closed, or they would have gone extinct.

-10C with sunshine. We received close to 12 cms of light fluffy snow yesterday, so I am going to have to shovel the parking area.

I made a couple of ice candles using a 20 liter (5 gallon white pail). I fill the pail with water and wait for it to freeze for a couple of days, take it inside the warm house for a few minutes and then it can slide out of the pail back out on the deck. I pour the excess water out leaving it hollow inside. One can put a solar light or a candle inside for decorative deck lighting.

temps around 25-26c . A pleasant start to summer apart from the recent heat wave. Very little in the way of rain and very little expected. Things are starting to brown off again. I expect us to be on fire restrictions again before Christmas. Can't bear to watch the news from California. Poor people! Ron.

-14 this morning, that was a surprise. Cloudy but no more snow so far. Bufford I've made those ice candles, and put tea lights in them. You can use boughs etc to add to the container and make them look pretty for Christmas.

ANOTHER nice day.....I feel embarrassed telling you all.11c and all day sunshine. I had to discard the sweater while I was busy and am wearing a summer shirt which was packed away for next summer.

-15C quiet winter day. I had to toss in a big piece of wood during the night its that time of year. I am freezing another pail of water to serve as a pedestal for the ice candle. The creativity brings out the kid inside of me. I still have to put away the lawn chairs on the deck to make it easier to shovel off the snow.
I hope they get a break in California, its seems to be getting worse as the damage count comes in. I get uneasy when i see these events as they could easily happen here.

Well, i've just had a google of ice candles. They look very nice too. Perhaps if we have another Beast from the East i shall get making some, lol.

Fairly mild today. I have put the heating on though.

15c today !!! Sunny start but cloudy now. They say we MIGHT get snow at the end of the month. I'm wearing my sweater again, but have discarded my vest (not waistcoat) with wild abandon,,,,,,,for now

Warm but not unbearably hot. There is a trough out west of us that moves towards the coast with storms but every night it retreats back to the west having delivered nothing. Ron.
