What is YOUR weather like today??

The other day I woke up rested and what was going to be a long day of many stops actually turned out to be a good drive I enjoyed. I unpacked the heart monitor and wired myself up with it for the next two weeks. I have found the best way to carry these devices is to place them into the front pocket of a tea shirt. That way its out of the way and doesn't interfer with sleep. I'll polish up with some beard oil, put on some fresh duds and be ready to go, I'll even clean out the passenger side of the truck.

Had a wander 'round the weekend market today. It was busy, but it's been much worse.Bought another book !!! I always put them in a plastic bag and sanitise when I get home.I love books and could spend all day browsing if Les would let me.He's been growing a beard for a couple of months and he suits it.....thing is he was a blonde now he's silver but his beard is dark.Would that be the radiotherapy/chemo do you think ? Will get him some beard oil for a little treat......10c and fair today.

I wish we could export some rain to you Carol. Some areas in NE Qld are still receiving torrential rain. Some towns south of Cairns have now received over 1200 mm for the month. We are looking at another rain event on the SE coast with up to 100 mm expected in some areas. I had my flu shot and on thursday and I have another appointment this coming Thursday to renew my scripts. The neuropathy in my legs has become a lot worse with the cooler weather. There is not a lot i can do about except to make sure I use my wheelie walker. Ron.

It's been lovely here and i have made a point of going off to different garden centres. I haven't challenged non-essential shops yet but have a scan on Thursday so will possibly get a few items then when i go to Northampton. This morning is very much overcast and we are expecting some real rain, or at least showers, this week. The ground needs it badly. the birds need to get the worms for their young. My live mealworms help but not enough. Our nature needs rain, not your type though Ron. The flowers aren't living quite as long with no rain this season. I'm not doing a rain dance yet though. I'd just like more warm weather.

Carol, hair/beards can change colour after chemo. I have more grey and i'm still curly. I haven't been near a hairdresser either, not since it fell out. I've made a few snips here and there but not much. It is a curly mess.

Hello fellow sufferers, not posted for a while due to being busy, busy doing nothing much. I had a tangled forest of bushes near my front door left by a deceased neighbour which resembled a scene from Sleeping Beauty. I do sleep a lot but I'm no beauty and there is no Prince Charming around so I got to work. Weeks later and with thumbs and fingers pricked by giant thorns, it's slowly receding. Giant bags of bark chips, a metal bin to burn stuff in, a folding camping chair and a garden clear out and my knees and lower legs are canary yellow from bruising.
Applying pain killing gels and my peripheral neuropathy is singing like wild parrots.
Getting another cat soon from a family who don't want her and calling her Daisy or Toffee or Candy. The weather has been chilly.

The weather has changed now. Feels like autumn. We've had our sunny dry summer and it's showery and colder. Heating back on and not taking my electric blanket off yet either. Went for a scan today. I'm feeling very apprehensive about the results. I suppose it's gonna be this way forever more. Bloods, scans and treatment when necessary. It's so nice to get a stressful day over and done with though. Tomorrow is a rest up day for me i think.

A little brighter today. I've managed to get my garden a little more in shape. The badgers are out and about digging everything now, hopefully my newly growing flowers will survive. Must clean that fish pond out this year too as i haven't done it for a while. ~Didn't notice how bad it has become. So pleased it's May Day, but in 6 weeks the days will start to shorten. I know, i shouldn't whinge. I should get out and about and enjoy myself.

5C under sunshine after overnight rain. April is behind us, and the weather has improved over the past few days. With covid there is very little traffic on the roads making it a joy to go for a drive since I had to go in unexpectedly for a second trip. I had a strange dream of meeting my late father who died over 25 years ago, he held my wrist and said "Son you are down to skin and bones."

Lovely and sunny this morning. Not to last though. We're getting a much needed downpour that normally happens on the British Bank Holidays, lol. I'm not doing anything special tomorrow, but the ground needs it. We really haven't had enough rain lately. Happy bank holiday to all Brits, have a good day everyone else.

Well it's still very blustery out there. Good old November weather. It does look like we could have showers today, but at least after yesterday more water should seep downwards rather than running off and flooding locally. We're not really hitting any good temps yet. I'm still putting the heating on a bit each day. It's costing a fortune at the moment.

Aw, Buff, you with the beavers and me with badgers. Don't we just love wildlife? Omg, i so wish i had my hedgehogs back. Well, it's been far worse than yesterday. I'm frozen stiff and even with the heating on. We'll be rolling towards June without a sign of summer at this rate, and as Carol said, it is here for a bit. So far it's been sleet, hail and heavy rain with extremely cold wind. Sounds like the Northern Territories doesn't it? Sincerely hope you can sort your bridge buff.

Storms hitting both sided of the country. SW western Australia had heavy rain and hail overnight and we have a trough arriving over the top of us now with strong winds rain and possibly large hail. It is 10.40 am here and looking out my window it looks like late afternoon with lots of thunder. Ron.

This is for Di.,It's not a weather post but she's only on the weather whingers...
I went to an aerobics class the other day.
I stretched, bounced,Fell down a few times and I was in agony, the sweat pouring off me.
By the time I actually got my leotard on,the class was over.
I bet you guys sometimes have trouble getting your pants on too....

Hey just wanted to start a new thread about the weather in your area because there has been significant changes throughout the world. I love to learn about the weather temps in different parts of the world.

It is winter time now  since the middle of January now is cold it has not being near the temperatures for the Northwest of Ontario. Today is -14c but feels like -26c...still far below the colder temps!

Show us your weather!:ycool:
Cool dreary and rainy

It was nice and sunny today. Right now it's still sunny and 20c. I took my chance and went for about a 75km ride. Good times and very few bugs... I was able to keep my visor up unless on the highway. Good deal! I would normally say Damn Beavers too! I just didn't want to make 2/3 of a pun. ;)

The storms came thru, plenty of rain and wind but fortunately no large hail. Today we have plenty of sun and a strong westerly wind. There is a strong low off the southern NSW coast with a lot of rain from Wollongong south to Eden. The westerly winds has dropped the temps a bit but still in he low 20 c during the day. Ron.

Lemme join in with the joke cos i didn't think of it, rofl. DAMN those beavers. Highly funny, as was the joke of exercise. I only exercise my lungs these days with breathing and occasionally i yawn and stretch. I also chase away jackdaws and starlings from my live mealworms. I should get a bike too. So far it's sunny out. This isn't going to last though. The weekend apparently promises some heat and sun. However, we can all be jealous of Ron and Lynda with their higher temps.

Yeah, it's definitely warmer out today. At last! But what's this about heavy rain? Tried catching the news but it's nothing other than election. Well, this Brit prefers to hear about the weather lol.

GUESS WHAT? HEDGEHOG HAS BEEN LAST NIGHT. WHOOOPPEEE! wow i'm chuffed. I'll be out there hedgie watching tonight with my jousting stick in case i spot a badger.

0C with intermittent flurries. Cool and damp, night time temps are still well below freezing. In Alberta they are having serious wildfires that require evacuation, hopefully its not a sign of things to come. We are pretty soggy, it would have to stay warm and dry for a long period of time, but that is not in the cards in the long term forecast.

Warm and sunny , 16-27c today. No real signs of winter yet. Flooding again in Sydney from the persistent east coast low. A big survey underway to check the health of Australia's east coast current. Apparently the Tasman sea is warming at an alarming rate with tropical species being found in areas they have never before been found.Ron.

Ron, has that got something to do with el Niño or Nina? Or is that climate change? Our planet is definitely out of control.

Well, i awaited with baited breath and hedgehog food. Nothing. It was cold and damp so i went to bed. The food was gone in the morning. I hope to have better luck tonight. Today I'm failing at putting a curtain pole up. It's the drill. It has power but I'm too piddly and weak. No more nails is being given the try out lol. Looks like I'm without lounge curtains for tonight although i might drape them over the net wire. Really frustrating when hands get arthritis in. God, i so need to strengthen my body after my bad health.

It is truly November Rain out there. Cold, windy, rain and did i tell you i have an NED result from my scan? Whoopee. That's the second one I've heard. Think i might be suffering bouts of Lymphadenitis though. My nodes swell badly and make me ache into my feet at times. However, I'm quite pleased with the result from stage 4 and palliative. Just need to start my bucket list soon. Let me out of the country! I cancelled Pompeii, Herculaneum and the other sites. Hoped to grab a bit of the Amalfi coast too.

Haha, Carol. I've just taken an early trip to Morrisons and omg, busy, busy. I then popped into Primark for a few spring clothes. Omg, the queue. Couldn't even pay for it till 11 am. Wow, was nice to get in the car and go home to the quiet. Yes, isn't it warmer? We've had rain though and more is due. I've done more of the garden this afternoon after watching footie on the telly.

ROFL, the curtain and rail are on the lounge floor. Speed dating required after all.

Still sunny and 27c during the day and 16c overnight. We are expecting more storms during this week and the weekend. I really don't understand because traditionally we don't get storms at this time of the year . October , November ,December is when we get storms. Di I don't know whether it is global warming or not. We really don't believe pollies any more. The Lib//Nats in govt want to sell coal and iron ore will not listen to the science of climate change. Labor and the greens believe the science but don't have a lot of answers for alternatives because the coalition has been in power for 8 years and have never spent any money researching alternatives. It is a very frustrating time to be alive. Ron.

I'm 43 and it's a frustrating time to be alive... I can only imagine how you folks who are my elders feel!

Yeah, it's frustrating to be alive now.

...getting older has it's challenges, but, it sure beats the alternative!

It's so hard to appreciate anything at the moment. However, i do live for nature.

... yeah, things are a little wonky, but any day my dogs and I can get outside is a good day

36.7* and falling ( i no speak metrick, lol ) and raining sideways here.

One dog flamed out
yeah, no i'm good right here on my pillow

one dog ready to go
go lets go there's smells to smell,i think the squirrels have invaded in the night, lets go lets go

All kidding aside, seems like a lot of folks are having some problems with the whole
what is and what should never be
...that is life at the moment ...

Things is, it'stimes like this we just got to turn the "news/tv/media doom n gloom" off and take a step back, and get some perspective

the sun did did come up today

There's food in the pantry, toiley paper in the bathroom and a roof over our head.
There's chore and works to do, and then a bit of time for ourselves

What else could want or wish for?

Climate change real or not has been used by the politicians as an excuse to raise taxes and at the same time do nothing. I believe the problem is far more complex than simply fossil fuel use, its probably more about how the planet has been used and abused. I've witnessed the destruction of our forests through careless logging. Forested lands that used to uptake carbon, now laid to waste, rotting which releases more carbon instead of absorbing it. I did my best to be vocal about saving our local forests, but now that they have been laid to waste I don't care anymore. Let them destroy it all and then they can learn from the aftermath, one cannot teach the stubborn and stupid. I agree Ron, its a frustrating time to be alive.

Brilliant post Buff,I couldn't agree more....It's taken 100yrs to ruin our stunning earth and I can't see them ever reversing the ruination. It's all been down to greed and must have. I can only hope that we who care so much don't outlive the total destruction....
Mild and sunny earlier then we were caught in a torrential downpour, but the sun's out once. Good for the gardens....

we had a storm tonight and they have predicted a severe one tomorrow afternoon and night. Over 100mm of rain predicted for Gippsland in Victoria. Warragamba dam in Sydney is overflowing again and the north coast of NSW is expected to receive another drenching having barely cleaned up after the last one.Ron.

Sounds like you're having a horrible Autumn, Ron. We had a massive torrential downpour, but i'd just got on the bus to come home from hospital and i got to watch it out the window. It stopped just as i got off the bus. Good timing, me! I don't like getting wet and rain and damp sends my hair back into chemo curls again. It's taking forever to grow it out. Still haven't spotted my elusive hedgie. I certainly don't seem to have the lovely number of them visiting my garden like previous years. Haven't spotted badgers yet either. There are a couple of dug pits but no real sign, and fortunately no sign of their massive piles of poo either.

5C partly cloudy and slightly warmer. I stepped out to the outhouse and heard the sound of the logging crews having started up again to the north east. They took out a large area of prime forest last year for as far as the eye can see and they are now pushing further. There is alot to be said about the state of the Amazon forests, but the governments keep the news muted about the condition of the Boreal forests of Canada which are likely in a state that is similar or worse.

We had rain overnight from storms and more are forming this morning up on the ranges. A lot of rain overnight around Bega on the south coast of NSW. they received 140mm + in a downpour with flash floods on the Bega river. Our daytime temps were 28c yesterday and 18c overnight. There has been a lot of research on fish on the east coast of Australia in the past few years .It showed that all fish from the smallest bait fish to the largest predators contained digested micro plastics. The researchers have no idea of the impact of these plastic particles on the human consumers of these fish but they have stated that it cannot be good.. Ron.

Ron, fish is one of my very safe foods. I worry like mad. Especially with the crohns disease. We're going to be suffering it. It's awful. I wonder how the fish feel.

Much warmer today. Sun out most the morning so put the woollies out to dry ... and ... rained! Rofl, just my luck, i brought them in and now they're back out. Some of my seeds are starting to show. Hope to have some better colour in my garden this year. I wasn't a happy bunny in lockdown last spring so didn't bother with it. I think some people still went to garden centres but i stayed in. Another good bit of news. The group i go out with for day trips are books trips back up. I will be off to nice places from the 18th of this month. relief.

The storms this afternoon were savage. High winds, torrential rain with flash flooding from Brisbane to the sunshine coast. We had hail around 2cm here whilst in Brisbane it was the size of golf balls. Tomorrow fine and sunny and much cooler.....so they say!!!! Ron.

Showers and cloud cover today. Still a chill wind and my neighbour and i have decided we're still back in April. Can't believe we're almost half the way through the year. It seems despite an all clear scan my marker numbers have gone up to a height i am not familiar with. I was also told that my chemo meds are only allowable for another 6 months then nothing more. Oh, dear! Feeling a tad down today. That's life i suppose. Just that i hope the fight isn't back on. My five year survival rate is at an unhealthy 17% and it's been two so far and i've achieved nothing more in life due to lockdown. Never mind, i'll see what next month brings.

I'd give anything to wear good summer clothes, Buff. I've bought some in the hope it tempts to bring our temps upwards. Not much chance as we have same heavy showers as yesterday and will last well into next week. I hope to enjoy my day trips anyway.

Seems they didn't do my bloods properly last week so i have to go back (we have the dreaded Indian variant there) to get them redone as i can't have my chemo meds until they check all my bloods. Also my onc told me i can't have chemo tablets much longer as they're to hold off cancer for two years only. Then we let it come back, lol. Omg, what luck.

May 14 2021, CT 70o and dry until Monday.

Have had Crohn’s for several decades. Used to enjoy food but over the past ten years just the thought of it is nauseating. Just ordered from AMAZON a baby food machine that chops, steams, purees and even cleans itself. Everything I eat lately gives me left sided pain and neausea unless it is very soft. I had all my teeth removed 30 years ago and my dentures cause so much discomfort. This machine should help me eat fresh veggies, fish and chicken again with less side effects. Anyone else tried this approach?

No, i have a liquid feed and bland potatoes, meat and fish that's all.

Really horrible weather today. It's pretty much showers with thunder and lightening, but i doubt i'll see any. So, I'm having another attempt at the curtain rail. I'm hopeful this time lol. Chris, Hope that shoulder gets better soon. Dislocations are painful. Are you unable to ride the iron horse? The weather is getting better and you ought to be out enjoying a ride, not stuffed at home unable to do things. Our weather compares to Iceland at the moment. We've had leaves appear, along with the flowers, but no real temp rises. C'mon summer. I'm desperate

Di hopefully the numbers will come up better on the next test, one can only hope. Take it easy with that shoulder Chris, once too much damage takes place it never fully heals limiting its use. I have to go careful with my right shoulder after I tore the rotary cuff many years ago. It was a nice day yesterday and it was the first time this year that I dressed up, but its all for not with the mask wearing. Its understandable that we have the mask rules, but I hope as more people get vaccinated we can get away from wearing masks. 18C unsettled conditions with towering cumulus.

We're really lucky not having anything like black fly. No real dangers, unless you count this new Indian variant. Our experts are suggesting to halt the re opening of everything. We have to wait and see.

Today we have only had the one shower so far and not so cold at all. Much better actually. No doubt it will bucket down on me as i go back for my hospital appointment tomorrow and for my two further trips this week. I do like the sound of your winter temps Ron. Hope things are a little better today, Chris. And fancy leaving it so late in the year to get dressed, Buff, rofl.

It was sunny all day today today and we have peaked out at 26c...I went for a ride this afternoon despite the shoulder injury. I took it easy and stayed on the pavement. I don't think off road riding is an option for me for awhile and I will probably be sorry I even went out on the paved roads... But I did and I'm not sorry yet... My best to all!

Perfect winter weather at the moment ,sunny days, westerly winds,Max 23c min 10c. with our If only I could get my upstairs neighbors to shut up I could have a sleep in. Ron.
I had to have strong "words "with our young neighbour last weekend after listening to them cussing and singing for a couple if hours after midnight. They were full of apologies....then did it all again this weekend . Hosepipe next time !!!
