Yesterday (15th) it rained. It was St.Swithens Day.And legend has it that it will rain for forty days and forty nights.
Today started well but is now clouding over...we're dooooomed !!!!

We had 25c and thunder storms yesterday. Showers and mid to low 20's forecast for most of the week. strange winter weather Ron.

No notifications again. It's not that I'm without weather though. Flowers looking nice and plenty of hedgehogs, baby birds etc, but we could do with a couple of thorough downpours.

We had some frost last night and I had to put the fire on this morning. Bright blue skies, the sun feels warm but the air is very fall like or rather still spring.

Chris Packham is starting a wildlife prog.soon, maybe this week, about garden wildlife and there's a prog.on 'hogs. Will let you know if I come across it.

No rain,so so much for legends....:)

Suns out and temp rising after a miserable day.But it's 6-30pm and got my PJs on so the bike will have to wait until tomorrow.

Finally some traditional winter. 2!-7c clear blue skies and an abating westerly wind. There is a huge hugh pressure system slowly moving across the centre of Australia and we should have two weeks of really nice weather. Ron.

Better than yesterday but still showery , we were spoiled for the last 6 weeks or so with lovely warm weather with average s in the low 20s which was perfect ,
today its just over 15c[emoji24] with showers.

More rain last night, today is bright and sunny, but very cool for the time of year. Biting flies take any pleasure out of being outside. Its out to my outhouse, and back to the house....fast!

Nice day today, clear and seasonable. Buggy outside, but with a few pick coils smoking, I can sit out on the deck for short periods. Going to take it in, as its supposed to be miserable and cold tomorrow.

We have two seasons in Australia , the wet and the dry. The last few years the traditional dry winter has been wetter than the summer months . This year they expect us to return to the dry winter . It has meant cooler mornings but above average day temps . Today will be 7c-24c and next month is expected to be devoid of rain. Ron.

It's more like early autumn here than mid summer.13c and grey but dry.Heavy rain and strong wind for tomorrow so we're off for a bike ride soon.

Not a chance Ron...what about all the beasties that can kill me ? I couldn't even go to the loo in a rush because I had to look for spiders before I sat down. And don't mention snakes......although I did handle a couple of "safe"ones.

But you enjoy the "cool" my friend. You know it won't last.

:cool2:

oops,I did it again(as Britney sang)

Its going to be summer today and for the next 2 or 3 days, the kind of weather we should be getting and will help knock down the population of biting flies. Its going to be nice to run the airconditioner instead of lighting fires in the wood furnace.

We are going into a warmer pattern for the next few days, I am going to step back and enjoy some of those dog days of summer for a change, maybe the lakes will warm up enough for a swim.

13c and grey again.Got caught in a really heavy shower while out cycling,twice....Not much we could do except keep going.Home and dry now.I wonder if we'll see any more warm weather ?

Warming up here. Up to 26 this coming week and some of the western areas of Brisbane are expecting 28 mid next week. That is around 7 c above average. Ron.

16c and windy with scudding clouds.I kept looking upwards because the sky was so beautiful
but that's not a good idea when you're on a bike.hahaha I had a couple of wobbles.

Today looks like a dandy of a summer day coming up, with temperatures in the upper 20's. I'm going to sit out and play the ukulele, and roast a chicken later on.

Colder, grey and heavy showers. I swear I feel autumnal weather in my bones. Have a great summer if your country allows it, and a cool winter for those down under.

Incidentally, hedgehogs don't like the wet much so their feed stations are under cover. God, I so spoil them. They simply have no idea how lucky they are. Not that they like me much.

16c and breezy.Maybe showers later.

My hubby is the same with "our" gulls. He spends between 10 & £15 a week on fish and crab sticks and pellets. They reared the young ok this year and off they went...BUT one of the young comes for a feed daily and we don't want that.It can see the river and the sea from the roof but it's realized that hubby's an easier option.

High 20'c's most of the coming week and the overnight is now averaging around 14c . Too early for spring. Animals , natures great users. My upstairs neighbour was away for a month. I was looking after her cat. The cat knows the routine she gets fed at night. Every afternoon when I got home she used to cross the road and jump the fence to a unit block she would return 15 minutes later licking her lips no need to wonder what she was doing. An hour later she would be at my door crying for her dinner. When I get up of a morning she was always at the top of my stairs looking at her dinner bowl and yowling. What a con artist. Ron.

I leave my utility room door open for the cats at night. I have a clear bag of hay in there and there's a hedgie in there having made a cosy nest of the hay. I do love it when they sleep over in that. Dry, out the wind, right by the sack of dried mealworm and comfy as can be. Sensible hedgehog.

Grey, overcast and autumnal all day, now got the rain. Saves me watering the flowers.

28C, feels like 34C with the humidity. Heat warning in effect. Tomorrow is supposed to feel like 40C and I have to work :(

Day three of warm summery conditions. We made it to 27 yesterday, and might make 30 today. Nice to hear the airconditioner running instead of my wood furnace. Cool cat sunning herself on my hide a bed with the airconditioner enjoying herself. I sleep down in the cool living room as I only use a room airconditioner. Otherwise its patio time out on the deck.

19-20c and breezy.Had a nice walk down by the river.Lots going on at this time of year.Yachts, ferries, cyclists, joggers, dog walkers.Of course they're all "fair weather" folk. Not like us toughies who live here and do it all year round.

Warm night , nearly cooked under one blanket. A week of mid twenty c's. they say showers possible but not very likely. Ron.

Another warm one coming up, expecting to hit 30 which we did yesterday. Slept in the air conditioned living room on the pull out bed. But the weather people are warning that it will come to an end tonight.

Twenty six c for the next couple of days. Swap you Carol you can have our 26c midwinter and I will take your 16c mid summer. Ron.

16c Dull with misty rain ,some sunshine earlier but looks like thats gone for the day.

Yesterday afternoon the weather cleared, but the temps sure dropped overnight down to 6C. I may have to put the fire on later if the sun does not shine into the house to warm it up some.

Same here now Tony...mid-summer Hah.!!! It's the folk who are on holiday in the UK that I feel sorry for.Everything looks so much nicer in the sunshine.

6c....wow that's low.we are in double figures during the night and still have the summer bedding on.

Raining......RON 50,our son in Kalgoorlie sent me a photo of the frost he was just about to scrape off his windscreen.Hope it comes your way,but I doubt it.

I swear I watched sleet fall from the sky an hour ago. Wouldn't surprise me as I'm thinking of putting the heating on, but first I will try the winter woolly and a thermal vest. Bloody British weather.

It's 18c D., with sunshine and heavy showers. There was a fine few minutes, so we thought we'd get the bikes out but by the time we did the heavens opened again. So it's not worth it.I don't really mind a bit of rain but hubby insists on taking shelter and I hate hanging about.I mean what if the rain doesn't stop,we could be home or almost, the time we've stood in a bus shelter or under a tree......suns out again so I'm ending this post or I will continue to repeat myself.Enjoy your day.

I couldn't wait any longer, gave in and lit a fire in the wood furnace. These are not summers that we used to get, we had 3 or 4 days of regular summer conditions that are expected in this area that normally go on for weeks. But all we get now are a couple of normal nice days followed by about two weeks of cold and wet conditions we normally get in spring before the pattern repeats itself.
I can hardly wait for the winter, at least when there is snow on the ground I can go out and about on skis or the snowmobile instead of slapping flies and being stuck in the house. I honestly believe we are on the eve of another ice age.

26c with a strong warm northerly wind. The trouble with outback towns Carol is that you can have a frost in the morning but be 35c by lunch time . Ron.

16c and rising.Windy with showers forecast.
Bufford....it's well known that I'm not a summer lover. In winter you know what to expect and what to wear etc.I'm a parka, boots and jeans type.Far more comfy than summer gear.
Ron...it pains me to say it but Aus.has made my son a softie. If temps drop down to 20c he looks for his woolly beanie.

It was quite a warm day . It is 1130 pm and it is still 25c at the puter. Just as well as I don't own a heater. I have this feeling I will never need one. Now down south on the Australian alps they are expecting a blizzard. With wind chill they are talking heavy snow and -20c. It's a strange land . Ron.

Only 90 degrees today....pant....pant....no wait can't pant the sky is filled with smoke....choke....choke.....

Sun and showers again today, more like spring weather this. I have my winter woolly on still. Had two hedgies in my opened hay bag yesterday but only one today.

The weather is giving me the hint to move firewood from the green pile where I process logs into firewood up to my dry pile at the house. It typically takes 7 bush cords to heat this place, which pays me back about $3,000 dollars in heating oil. Winter is big and wide here, and so are the heating bills.
The weather has been cool so now is a good time to move the wood which is by far the hardest part for me as I live with a stoma. By doing a little bit throughout the summer season I break the job down into manageable chores.
It was only 7C this morning, but I had a small fire on last evening to keep things comfortable. Its a sunny but cool day coming up, going to move some more wood and roast up a chicken later on.

At least we have no rain today. It was sunny this morning too but clouded right over now. I too have a stoma, it's a PEG tube, and I can identify with no heavy lifting and careful movement. It's a tad inflamed at the moment.

Another warm night. The road outside is wet this morning. It appears that I did not just imagine the thunder and lightning over night. Temps ranging from low to mid 20's this week. No signs of any cold snaps or rain. Ron.

Definitely cooler when I opened the windows early on.Bits of blue sky but huge clouds and no breeze to move them on.....Note to Carol...don't forget your brolly !!!

I booked a powered camping site at lake Boondooma today. I'm going up there on the 1st of September for ten days. I still have a pile of work I can't see over but at the rate the work is coming in I either take some time off or I will never get away.. I haven't had a real break for three years. It is freshwater fishing for a change. At least when I get home I won't have to spend hours washing the boat and flushing the motor. It is a sweetwater dam with no run off from towns or farms. The fish if I can get some are very good eating. Sunny 27c today and the same for the rest of the week Ron.

I loved our wood burning heating for our house in upper Michigan when we lived there. It was great exercise. Keeps us moving which is good but ya....carefully with the stoma.

Some rain last night, rather cool, there is a rude chatty squirrel up in the tree while making my way over to the outhouse while my coffee warmed up in the microwave. Today is day six for my colostomy bag and the flange in starting to get a bit loose. Good day to move firewood, then put on the fire, take a shower and glue on a new bag.

Record here with no measurable rain.....sigh....would be nice to not have to water my plants. 90 degrees again....at least we are in the trees and have double insulation when I go inside my tiny cabin it's no more than 74 usually.

Temps over 30c by the middle of next week, 28cand 29c for the weekend. August is when we traditionally get our coldest westerly winds. I'm not sure I am ready for summer yet. Ron.

17c blue skies and scudding clouds.Got the washing dry, looking for kind offers to do my ironing ...... No? oh well you can't blame a girl for trying.

Ron my friend, although we haven't had the best of summers I personally am sick to the back teeth of it.Bring on the cooler mornings of autumn and the cold crisp days of winter.(sorry Diane) At least you've got your fishing trip to look forward to.(that's Ron not you D.,)
