What is YOUR weather like today??

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

Heating up by the day. Ipswich just west of Brisbane is expecting 37+ on Sunday and Monday. They said there was a chance of storms tomorrow night. Unfortunately the humidity is expected to drop tomorrow and we could get dry electrical storms . They said if that happens that there will definitely be bushfires as a result.
Stopped taking metformin for my type two diabetes and today started galvumet one of the new combo diabetes meds. Ron.

weatherwise..."oh,bleedin' hell Ron" !!! :(

meds......hope they work a treat.:ghug:

Just going to watch the new series (for us) of Outback Truckers.

started at 6c but now up to 10c (10am) Clear blue sky and low sunshine.
Today is the autumn equinox so the official start of autumn, and we're losing daylight at a rate of 4-5mins per day.

31c today and a fierce dry electrical storm early evening. Hot dry north westerlies for the next three days up to 35knots. total fire bans everywhere. Middle of school holidays with people camping everywhere. Not good, Ron.

Out west from us at Birdsville topped 42c today. Coming our way over the next couple of days . Fires throughout New South Wales and Queensland. Quite a few towns in Outback NSW topped 40c today as well. 20+ fires burning in Qld at the moment.Ron.

I have gone from sleeping under a feather sleeping bag ,It was 4c at the dam of a morning, to no covers and a fan at home in two weeks. It is snowing down in Victoria today whilst we have 36c here. I need a remote control for the weather. 200 points without even trying. Ron.

I really feel your heat Ron.Win the lottery and buy a plane with pilot to follow the cooler weather. You could come to the UK in our summer for a start.Don't want to lose more points, just an observation.hahaha

Today's sunrise 6-57am,sunset 6-57pm, from tomorrow the nights will lengthen until late December's winter solstice (just before Christmas)
Grey and depressing today but mild.

Forecast for the week. 34c tomorrow 35c Friday, 30c Saturday and 19c Sunday. Where did that come from? Ron.

I can manage 19c Ron,just about. It's about that here today with a bit of a breeze. Will you deduct more points if I don't whinge again today ?

37c in my town yesterday, heat records for all of Queensland yesterday for the hottest September temps since recording began. Temps on average were around 14 c above the September average . Still no rain and fires everywhere. Ron.

It was sad going through the Columbia River Gorge today all the burnt trees. So smoky still only 50% contained it's been so long. Pray for good weather for my daughters wedding on the beach.

10c and looking like rain.Storms in the Atlantic on the way but there's a ridge of hills (Pennines) down the backbone of England and we're on the eastern side so it will probably fizzle out by the time it reaches us.

Well, sunny today. if I can get out I will take a look at the autumnal colours today. winter clothes sorted and heating on occasionally.

Sympathy to the Americans today. Sad news.

Grey and windy, heavy rains are expected by tonight. I am well stocked with dry wood inside. Sending condolences to our neighbors south of the boarder. We are far from immune here as we had an incident in Edmonton just the other day. Keep safe everyone.

Finally some rain. Not heavy here but some good falls to the north. Bundaberg to the north got 300 mm in 24 hrs with some flash flooding and some structural damage when a waterspout came ashore. Ron.

Different day same old weather. As you all know the UK doesn't usually have extreme weather. It's been 3-4 years since we had any snow to speak of,it's been gone in 24hrs.Yesterday it was reported that UK was completely snow free in a long time. There's been a patch of snow in a dip in the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland for years and now it's melted. There's a chap who goes up regularly to check on it apparently. It was named the sarcosaphis (wrong spl) because of it's shape.

Sarcophagus (yes ?) I can pronounce it but the old brain shuts down when I try to spell it.....

Sun trying to come out. No rain yet. Planting bulbs and some winter pansies and cyclamen too. Watching some small birds and still having a couple of hedgies feeding in front, side and back garden. Tis probably to same cheeky one though, just scoffing the lot to fatten himself up.

Nice to hear Ron50 reporting rain. Can't remember the last time that he did that. Congrats Ron on some rain.

Nice to finally have cooler weather only 70 today. The weather was awesome for the wedding!! Thank you everyone for the prayers. Rained before and some awhile after but not during wedding yea!!

We all enjoyed the rain , back into the 30'c again only difference before the rain humidity was 30% now it is 76%.. Storms forecast for this evening. Ron.

A cool 10c here today. This rubberized traction coating for the porch won't work unless I get at least 18-20c for 24 hrs for it to dry. It also requires several coatings... Grrr. Oh well its all treated wood, it's built and is fine for the winter. I'll just make it look fancy after that. ;) Springtime work before the garden goes in. Cheers everyone. :)

3c start but struggled up to 13c.Good day for a bike ride along the coast, which we did.

D., our goldfish stay at the bottom of the pond when it gets cold, but they've been quite active today. And a red admiral butterfly was doing it's best to get in the kitchen window while I was doing lunch.Yesterday a flock of geese went over. but I could just hear them and not see them so don't know which direction they were heading

My fish seem to be eating less at the moment. I too watched ducks flying over when I went down the shop. I love to watch nature. The colours of leaves are good but flowing down on paths and roads. Will be grim and dull in a short time. Can't believe how dark it's getting now and clocks go back this month. That's when I start to look forward to the 21st December a bit more than I look forward to xmas. Gosh, did I say that word!

Sunny with showers.

I like many of Trumps ideas as he is a refreshing change from the stagnant policies of former leaders who only raised the bar further through increased taxes, red tape and globalization that will put most of us into the poor house, but if only Trump would drop the poorly conceived ones.
Ah, the weather here has trended more to a normal pattern for this time of year. The leaves are coming down, and we have had some frost, but otherwise pleasant. It was Thanksgiving, and I put wild partridge on the table yesterday and it was very good.

It was so pretty up on Mt Adams where we went this weekend. So cold though even with gloves and vests and coats. Yep out of practice on the cold thing with so much heat here :)

Well rain held off today which was nice, but it was still grey and a tad chilly in the wind. Getting ready to hibernate with the hedgehogs, but not literally.

grey, damp and miserable........and the weather's rubbish as well.

I know I keep posting this smart remark but I just can't help myself

It was a frosty visit to my outhouse just before breakfast, clear blue skies and some ice in the bucket. Another nice fall day coming up. The leaves are over half down now, and sunshine can reach the forest floor making it a wonderful time of year to be out in the forest.

That sounds just beautiful, not sure about the outhouse though..

After a grey showery start the temp.is now 14c and the sun's shining.

It's 5pm and will begin to get dark in a couple of hours, but we're glad to have it.

Having a colostomy raised the need for an outhouse because of the smell and mess. With the bag I have no need to sit and wait, making life easy even in winter. Emptying the bag is swift and fast, and I am back inside before I feel cold. Prior to the surgery I had no outhouse, and simply used the inside bathroom. Its a nice way to wake up to a new day:)

A week of rain coming up, or so they say. Seeing is believing. I am house sitting at the moment , my ex is away traveling thru Spain and Portugal. Mt poor body is not taking it well and I am getting non stop spams from my lower back and hips. I am used to lots of pain but I don't handle the pain from nerve spasms very well. Ron.

Yes B. I remember you mentioned that before. It's a good idea.Even those of us without a bag should have a bathroom to ourselves 24/7.I share with hubby but we have a routine that works for us quite well, without the neighbours hearing me pounding on the bathroom door...hahaha oh,happy days.:sign0085: :poo:

Sorry you're not doing good Ron.Is it just that you're not in your own bed that's doing it,or maybe there's a dampness in the air ? (although I can't imagine it in Aus.) Sounds like it will be a while before you get back home, so go to the docs. and don't suffer in silence.
11c.cloudy and still.

Good luck with the rain Ron50, I hope it does rain and cool things down. Will be just your luck if you get flooded.

Here it's sunny today so will tidy the garden if I can stay off the loo.

Sometimes, i wish I had my own bathroom.

19c and far too warm for the time of year.Forecast says a warmer weekend but the storm Ophelia to arrive from the Atlantic next week.Being on the east coast we'll probably just get the tail end.Supposed to be the worst for 30yrs but I expect they're just covering their backs.

love the warm weather, Carol. Thermal vest off, lol.
Sunny and warm. Still have 1 hedgie. Maybe more with the warm weather, back out of hibernation for the weekend.

Some heavy rain today and getting heavier tomorrow. More a series of storms than showers. We had a real cracker mid morning, poor cat nearly dislocated something trying to get under the couch. I shouldn't laugh , BUT a size ten cat under a size six lounge. I went to the doc on Friday. I have to get two scans done , a CT of my lower back and hips and a bone mineral density. I have had so many scans in the past twenty years it is a wonder I don't glow in the dark. Ron.

Ah,that poor cat....glad you've been to the docs Ron.We complain about it but where would we be without them ?......:ghug:

Well, I certainly need to cast off the clothing, not quite all though.
Lovely sunny weather, warm too. Into the garden where next door's cat has caught another big bird. Dove feathers everywhere. I'm glad my cats are old. His are kittens. Have to rake up all the feathers.

-2C, bloody freezing, Cmack. Hope you don't get flooded Ron50.

I live in Terrigal, which is a small coastal town in Australia. We are in spring currently and the weather should be warming up. Last week we had two hot days of 30c. But it is up and down like a yo-yo. Yesterday was so cold and drizzly, that I had to leave the house in thermals. Today I have the gas heater on. Wearing a bikini at the beach last week, and now thermal long-johns a few days later, is just bizarre.

Glorious day so far (10am) 15c and sunny.......Great bike day, but I don't feel well enough.

Ron have you been home to check for flooding ?

@Ron50, me thinks you need to be where Marycherub is. And, YEAH, someone else wears thermals!

Tis nice and sunny in Northants, and hopefully we won't feel the tail end of Ophelia tomorrow.

Went out to my remote cabin and enjoyed myself in the Boreal forest. Found ice in the water bucket in the morning. This trip is hard on my body as I require driving over rough trails on the ATV, otherwise the place is comfy like a small nest with the wood stove and a generator.

@Ronroush, hopefully I won't be feeling it, but all my family are in the west country so I shall worry about them.

Bufford, I would love to live in the wilderness.

140 mm in the past 24hrs. We are expecting another 50mm today and they are predicting 30 mm for Tuesday. I doubt if anyone in the area has an empty rain water tank. Ron..

nice stormy weather here in Ireland , Storm Ophelia crossed the atlantic and is going to hit Iraland fairly hard today , winds of nearly 70 mph here already and lots of trees down already , now the heavy rain is starting .

It's very still here Tony but there's a weird light and it's just started to rain very gently.

It's been a funny day weatherwise.......the above I posted at about 10am and since then there's been fog twice and really dark. While Southern Ireland is being battered by Ophelia, it is now very still and warm and the sun' s out.We are expecting 70-80 mph winds this evening, but maybe it's blown itself out ?:shifty:

Hope you and yours are safe Tony.:)

Stay safe, Tony. The light is weird everywhere. My relatives in cornwall are complaining of the jaundiced skies, my friends out and about in Campervans all over Britain have mentioned it, and I have too. Freaky.

I remember well when I came home with a stoma from the hospital 16 years ago after spending 2 months fighting for my life due to infections of one unrelenting abscess after another. Then wondered if I still had it in me to live the rural life.
The only way I knew how was to pick up my chainsaw and cut firewood, albeit slowly at first. I managed to do it, and still live in this house today, its a huge challenge, but financially and mentally I am much better for remaining in my rural home with wood heat, and thanks to my stoma the more recent addition of the outhouse. Where life takes me never ceases to amaze me.

The weather today; it was a frosty one last night, and today promises to be sunny, another nice day to be outside and alive to enjoy nature's beauty. I still thank my surgeon for his miracle, perhaps the greatest gift I ever received from anybody.

Depends on the wildlife Dianne. We lost a little old lady last week. She had mild dementia and strayed too close to a local creek whilst taking a walk. They are still looking for the croc that got her ( what little of her that they found was able to give dna evidence of her identity.) We have our own storm in Qld at the moment. A low pressure system formed over land and is dragging in great volumes of moist air from the sea. wappa dam just north of me is running around a metre over the spillway. Most places on the Sunshine coast have received over 200 mm in the past two days. More coming today and tomorrow. The rain has been steady but not torrential so luckily my flat has not flooded yet. Take care in Ireland and England storms are never fun. Ron.

Ron50, we read about that little old lady. I worry about my mum with dementia. She lives with one of my sisters though. Mind, she does try and run away sometimes. I hope that reservoir hold. I'm pleased you haven't flooded, that is such a lot of rain. Stay safe.
Diane

The winds we were expecting last night were not quite as bad as forecast.Ours was a breeze compared to what Southern Ireland suffered. The fog I mentioned that we had yesterday a couple of times, was actually sand from the Sahara mixed with ash from the forest fires in Portugal, due to Ophelia.
Today is cooler so far, 12c, and breezy.Still double figures during the night too.

Early start for me today to get my kinked up peg tube changed to a low profile device. Was windy and cold this morning, but warmer and sunnier now.

Sunny warm fall day coming up, and the longer forecast says we may get a few days in a row. Good weather for doing the chores around here before winter sets in, as well as enjoying some time out in the bush.
