What is YOUR weather like today??

Light frost this morning, very fall like today. Calm, cool and sunny. I am going to take the window airconditioner unit out today. Barely used it at all this summer and needed the wood furnace instead. We went from spring directly into fall and completely skipped summer in these parts this year.

Definitely a touch of autumn in the air.11c and cloudy but sun is doing it's best to get through.Have just noticed on the web that there is another storm brewing over the Atlantic.Let's hope it fizzles out before it reaches land.

It feels like fall, went down close to the freezing mark. I took the window airconditioner out and into storage yesterday. The big hurricane caused our fuel prices to spike. I purchased 310 liters of gasoline on Tuesday at 97 cents a liter, that gas is now up to $1.30 a liter. The gas in my shed is worth $100 more than when I bought it. Always good to stock up and ride out price spikes. Cool today, going to move dry wood into the house later.

15c grey skies and blustery breeze. There's been little change for a while, but I think summer is packing it's sun cream and getting ready to head south to torture poor Ron50 some more.

Summer left us back in Sept 2016 and skipped us this year, as we went from spring directly into fall; Good riddance to the year without a summer. Lets get put it behind us along with the cans of bug spray, and get on with winter; I could use a good long cross country ski in the afternoons with bright snow and blue skies.

Yep,bring it on....I want to feel cosy in a winter jacket and breath cool fresh air.

Much the same as yesterday here.Boring.But I don't need the "excitement" that parts of the USA is suffering. It's tragic to say the least.

Well I went away camping and fishing for ten days. I lasted four. I only fished for a day and a half whilst I was at Boondooma dam but that was enough to nearly kill me.. Getting the tent down and packed up this morning was hell. I won't be going camping again. Cabins , overnight vans or nothing. It wa a shame a I caught sme really nice fish. The weather was hot and very windy. The whole of the countryside I passed thru looked ready to go up in flames.Ron.

That's a shame Ron,but at least you know that camping is a bad idea.I always say,if you don't try you will always wonder if you should have. There are plenty alternatives eh?

It's rained all night here and it's dismal today, but not too cold.

I recall thinking about camping, but when I think about the lack of a bed and comfortable seating together with living with the weather elements, a proper cabin with a wood stove, generator, TV and microwave is a much better option, and is even better in winter when its very cozy inside.

I agree. But is this a chrohnie attitude or an age thing. For me it's both.My heart loves the outdoors, but been there, done that.I can easily talk myself out of things now, where as in the past I just got up and went. Happy Days......

I don't think it's an age thing Carol. I'm relatively young and it would have to be some kind of awesome adventure to get me sleeping on the ground for a week. I always found that it was so much work to set up and break camp, that if you didn't spend at least three or four good days it wasn't worth it. I watch people go out for one or two nights of camping and I just shake my head. You barely get set up and you have to leave, then put it all away. Meh!

Smoke and ash and 100 today.....feels like hell on earth here right now. The Columbia River Gorge is close to us and my brothers house is on alert for evacuation so say a prayer please.

O/T has anyone heard from Sandyute lately. It seems like ages since I have seen here on here. I certainly hope she is ok. Ron.

Same here we are only just into spring , the temps are topping 30c the winds are from the north and south west and totally dry . The whole country has dried to a crisp . Rural brigades are attending dozens of fires every day. There is a high fuel load from the cyclonic floods earlier in the year and we haven't had a drop of rain in three months. Most of the outlying houses in regional areas rely on tanks for their drinking showering and washing . Most are having to buy water every fortnight. The idiot politicians are arguing about which roads and rails need duplication , when they haven't built a new dam in thirty years. You can't drink roads and railways. Ron.

Blimey, Bufford, your temps are lower than ours. We are starting to experience cold nights and mornings with frost too. Tis bucketing down most the time now. As usual not too much of a summer. Thermals on, electric blanket on under the fleecy sheet and heating has been on a few times now too. Leaves will be colourful soon though. That's nice to see.

cloudy but occasional sun. Just turned the heating off. Had to take the chill off the place.

Temp. up 2 degs.since earlier.Off on a bike ride to warm up.

Have your hogs started to snuggle down yet,or is it a bit to soon ?

Our local birds have been conspicuous by their absence lately. Not a sight nor sound of anything for days.:shifty-t:

Ok up till Thursday then we are expecting a week or more of 30c + temps. Still no rain. Those using tank water are having to buy water every fortnight. I'm glad I am on town water. We are missing spring every year now . Winter finishes early and we go straight to summer, yuk! ps we are also having our worst flu season in decades this year. Touch wood I had the shots and so far have missed out but my ex got the A strain and was off work for nearly four weeks. She ended up with pneumonia, pleurisy and a sinus infection from an infected wisdom tooth. She was fighting septicemia and has been on anti-biots for at least three and a half weeks non stop . If I got it I doubt if I would survive it. Ron.

I heard about the flu epidemic over there Ron,it hit NZ too.We are being warned it could be bad here.Have put a reminder on the calendar for mine next month,I've had the pneumonia jab.You only need it once and you're covered for life. It's daft not to.
I'm sorry your summer has come around to soon.I don't know how you cope.Keep well my friend.

There's a definite chill in the mornings now and the evenings are darkening by 7ish and full dark at 9pm.I might have to change the summer duvet for the spring/autumn one at the weekend. Coolish and greyish today, but no wind or rain. The UK is so fortunate compared to other parts of the world, and despite being known to be "weather whingers" we've nothing to whinge about at all.Oooops here's the sun coming out now.

I think, like most of us, there is definitely something amiss with the weather world wide. Now I see Japan has had another 'quake too !!! I'm not religious and I try not to worry about Armaggedon but maybe our world is coming to an end ?
Not a bad day here though. Not cold and showers later.Heat wave at the weekend maybe.

I'm starting to miss the hedgehogs, only one or two out now. The birds did a vanishing act a while back, to be honest, Carol. Have seen mum and baby jackdaws in the past few days. Am hoping to help out a hedgehog rescue this year and over winter the autumn juveniles that just wouldn't survive hibernation.

That said, I've got my heating on and my fingers are white with cold. Have to plant bulbs soon too. Got tulips and daffs to go in.

Heating up by the day. Ipswich just west of Brisbane is expecting 37+ on Sunday and Monday. They said there was a chance of storms tomorrow night. Unfortunately the humidity is expected to drop tomorrow and we could get dry electrical storms . They said if that happens that there will definitely be bushfires as a result.
Stopped taking metformin for my type two diabetes and today started galvumet one of the new combo diabetes meds. Ron.

Being an adoptive 'hog mum would be great D.,Just don't get to attached hahaha, how could you not ?

meds......hope they work a treat.:ghug:

Just going to watch the new series (for us) of Outback Truckers.

started at 6c but now up to 10c (10am) Clear blue sky and low sunshine.
Today is the autumn equinox so the official start of autumn, and we're losing daylight at a rate of 4-5mins per day.

31c today and a fierce dry electrical storm early evening. Hot dry north westerlies for the next three days up to 35knots. total fire bans everywhere. Middle of school holidays with people camping everywhere. Not good, Ron.

Out west from us at Birdsville topped 42c today. Coming our way over the next couple of days . Fires throughout New South Wales and Queensland. Quite a few towns in Outback NSW topped 40c today as well. 20+ fires burning in Qld at the moment.Ron.

I have gone from sleeping under a feather sleeping bag ,It was 4c at the dam of a morning, to no covers and a fan at home in two weeks. It is snowing down in Victoria today whilst we have 36c here. I need a remote control for the weather. 200 points without even trying. Ron.

I really feel your heat Ron.Win the lottery and buy a plane with pilot to follow the cooler weather. You could come to the UK in our summer for a start.Don't want to lose more points, just an observation.hahaha

Today's sunrise 6-57am,sunset 6-57pm, from tomorrow the nights will lengthen until late December's winter solstice (just before Christmas)
Grey and depressing today but mild.

Forecast for the week. 34c tomorrow 35c Friday, 30c Saturday and 19c Sunday. Where did that come from? Ron.

I can manage 19c Ron,just about. It's about that here today with a bit of a breeze. Will you deduct more points if I don't whinge again today ?

37c in my town yesterday, heat records for all of Queensland yesterday for the hottest September temps since recording began. Temps on average were around 14 c above the September average . Still no rain and fires everywhere. Ron.

It was sad going through the Columbia River Gorge today all the burnt trees. So smoky still only 50% contained it's been so long. Pray for good weather for my daughters wedding on the beach.

10c and looking like rain.Storms in the Atlantic on the way but there's a ridge of hills (Pennines) down the backbone of England and we're on the eastern side so it will probably fizzle out by the time it reaches us.

Well, sunny today. if I can get out I will take a look at the autumnal colours today. winter clothes sorted and heating on occasionally.

Sympathy to the Americans today. Sad news.

Grey and windy, heavy rains are expected by tonight. I am well stocked with dry wood inside. Sending condolences to our neighbors south of the boarder. We are far from immune here as we had an incident in Edmonton just the other day. Keep safe everyone.

Finally some rain. Not heavy here but some good falls to the north. Bundaberg to the north got 300 mm in 24 hrs with some flash flooding and some structural damage when a waterspout came ashore. Ron.

Different day same old weather. As you all know the UK doesn't usually have extreme weather. It's been 3-4 years since we had any snow to speak of,it's been gone in 24hrs.Yesterday it was reported that UK was completely snow free in a long time. There's been a patch of snow in a dip in the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland for years and now it's melted. There's a chap who goes up regularly to check on it apparently. It was named the sarcosaphis (wrong spl) because of it's shape.

Sarcophagus (yes ?) I can pronounce it but the old brain shuts down when I try to spell it.....

Sun trying to come out. No rain yet. Planting bulbs and some winter pansies and cyclamen too. Watching some small birds and still having a couple of hedgies feeding in front, side and back garden. Tis probably to same cheeky one though, just scoffing the lot to fatten himself up.

Nice to hear Ron50 reporting rain. Can't remember the last time that he did that. Congrats Ron on some rain.

Nice to finally have cooler weather only 70 today. The weather was awesome for the wedding!! Thank you everyone for the prayers. Rained before and some awhile after but not during wedding yea!!

We all enjoyed the rain , back into the 30'c again only difference before the rain humidity was 30% now it is 76%.. Storms forecast for this evening. Ron.

A cool 10c here today. This rubberized traction coating for the porch won't work unless I get at least 18-20c for 24 hrs for it to dry. It also requires several coatings... Grrr. Oh well its all treated wood, it's built and is fine for the winter. I'll just make it look fancy after that. ;) Springtime work before the garden goes in. Cheers everyone. :)

3c start but struggled up to 13c.Good day for a bike ride along the coast, which we did.

D., our goldfish stay at the bottom of the pond when it gets cold, but they've been quite active today. And a red admiral butterfly was doing it's best to get in the kitchen window while I was doing lunch.Yesterday a flock of geese went over. but I could just hear them and not see them so don't know which direction they were heading

My fish seem to be eating less at the moment. I too watched ducks flying over when I went down the shop. I love to watch nature. The colours of leaves are good but flowing down on paths and roads. Will be grim and dull in a short time. Can't believe how dark it's getting now and clocks go back this month. That's when I start to look forward to the 21st December a bit more than I look forward to xmas. Gosh, did I say that word!

Sunny with showers.

I like many of Trumps ideas as he is a refreshing change from the stagnant policies of former leaders who only raised the bar further through increased taxes, red tape and globalization that will put most of us into the poor house, but if only Trump would drop the poorly conceived ones.
Ah, the weather here has trended more to a normal pattern for this time of year. The leaves are coming down, and we have had some frost, but otherwise pleasant. It was Thanksgiving, and I put wild partridge on the table yesterday and it was very good.

It was so pretty up on Mt Adams where we went this weekend. So cold though even with gloves and vests and coats. Yep out of practice on the cold thing with so much heat here :)

Well rain held off today which was nice, but it was still grey and a tad chilly in the wind. Getting ready to hibernate with the hedgehogs, but not literally.

grey, damp and miserable........and the weather's rubbish as well.

I know I keep posting this smart remark but I just can't help myself
