What is YOUR weather like today??

Snowing -2C. A needed round of snow to freshen up the snow pack, the neighbor and I worked on a section of trail that has not yet been packed, it will make for a good short cut instead of going down the road which can be hard on snowmachines when they sand it. Di the snowmobiles have a good range, and can go farther on a tank of gas than my body could last. We are going into the deep freeze, which means I'll trade in the snowmobile for the skis and do more left n right on the trails.

Hello, it's 4°C today and will get down to freezing by the end of the week. The bin men collected a pile of old fencing from my tiny front garden yesterday. I spent the afternoon pottering about and re-arranging my bins away from the footpath to put some space between me and passers-by. My shoulders ache, I'm stiff and I've got a dull pain in my right side. Is it my bowel ? is it ovarian ? is it Covid ? Is it cancer ? Welcome to black moods and depression. I seriously need a change of routine before I go nuts.
😱

Same as yesterday really although not quite as cold. We are expecting snow over this weekend and expecting the cold weather from Scandinavia to have an impact on our weather for a while. Not really looking forwards to it unless it's good enough to prevent my travel for my covid jab. Still feeling unsure at the moment. I have plenty of bird seed in and other treats for the birds so hopefully they won't go too hungry if the snow turns icy and they can't feed on worms. Maybe i should get some skis myself, Buff. Mind, i'd fall worse than Ron has.

-20C flurries with a stiff northerly wind. I will go out later to shovel the 10 or 12 cms of snow that came ahead of the cold front. We will be in the deep freeze for awhile now, weather that is more typical for the time of year. We need the cold to keep the insect populations in check, otherwise it leads to outbreaks that damage trees which increases the wildfire hazard in summer. Skiing beckons in the days ahead.

Weather is warm and we are getting showers every day. Temps in the low 30c by day and low 20c overnight. Unfortunately humidity remains in the 60% range every day. Ex cyclone Lucas is sitting just off the SE Qld coast and is causing large swells and dangerous surf. as usual people are underestimating the danger of swimming on Gold coast beaches and three have drowned in the last three days.Ron.

Started out very misty with hardly any view. Sun has come out and i've been out briefly. Can't believe the steam coming off of fences and cars as the sun has some warm radiance today. The rain and snow are going to turn up today some time though. More snowdrops in all the lanes now. Birds singing away, loads of daffs coming up, my aliums too and even the roses have some shoots on. I bet this cold weather ruins them all. Ho hum, we'll see how it goes.

Ron, I simply cannot understand people wanting to surf in such difficult conditions. With storms the squalls and rip currents are dreadful. I wish they wouldn't gamble with their lives just to ride a better wave. They will be badly missed by some. the humidity sounds bad though.

-25C with a stiff north wind. I had a lousy night and couldn't sleep with the constant gas pains, I got up an hour earlier than I normally do as I couldn't lay in bed any longer. I'll take a long snooze before lunch and then try to ski off my pains on the trail in the afternoon. Ron I wouldn't want to risk it going into stormy seas filled with sharks, skiing under sunshine in the cold dry air is more my speed.

Heavy rain and floods in WA , heavy rains and floods in north Qd, heavy rains and floods in Tasmania. We are overcast with showers today. There was some footage on the news last night of a lady fishing on a beach at Cardwell in the Hinchenbrook channel. She caught a small shark and pulled it up the beach. A four meter croc then dashed out of the water and ate the shark on the beach. Wisely the lady did not stick around to see what would happen. The croc seemed to enjoy the shark. There is an old joke in the north that you don't have to worry about sharks, the crocs ate them all! Perhaps it's not just a joke, Ron.

Hello, snowing steadily since yesterday and settling on pavements and roof tops. I won some money last night on Admiral Casino so can afford the Co-op unlike the poor people who walk in and out again. I usually have a bucket of suet balls for the birds at this time of year so will shop online. Oh, damn it the rent needs paying. Hey ho, hey ho.

-33C. Cracking cold, with sunshine under clear cobalt blue skies. I enjoy this invigorating type of arctic cold, I stepped out to the outhouse from the very warm house as I had added a bit more wood than needed. Taking in the air works better than coffee if you know what I mean. Going for a ski later, I am getting a lot of skiing done and little of anything else. Life in the slow lane during the height of winter.

Cold again this morning. My fingers are completely numb and i'm indoors with the heating on. There are still patchy areas of snow lying about. I didn't get to my jab as i decided that i would await until my immune system is slightly stronger and not in a flare-up. I have to phone Monday to get another one. ~Tis a bit of a trek to the vaccine centre also so not keen on going out when needing the loo. I sold my old camper last year as i didn't think i would live, lol. Now i can't travel with my loo.

Ron, that lady who caught a shark was in the papers. Really shocking. Buff. that's bloody freezing weather. Enjoy all that skiing though. I wonder how Chris is doing? Anyone heard from him lately. I assume our Chris is a he with the iron horse and all that yard work., lol.

enjoy yourself my friend.the dust will still be there in the Spring,,,,,,
Thats why they call it spring cleaning, the outdoor conditions are too good to pass up at the moment. Brilliant sunshine -30C I look forward to a good ski later. The cold spell has been great for skiing, but it sure has put a hole into the woodpile. During the day the sun shines into the house and I run a small fire, but as soon as the sun gets low the demand for heat goes up and I stoak a hotter fire. I typically have to add wood twice during the night which is not difficult given my bladder and the need for a drink of water. I would not want to burn furnace oil in these conditions despite the upgrades done to the house over the years.

A cold day here but no snow. There are a few tiny patches here and there but mostly it has gone and we had a hard frost last night. About an inch of ice was on the fish pond. Seriously need to get a person in to clean my pond for me. It doesn't look too good at the moment. I've gotten through an awful lot of bird food lately bless them. It is cold for them.

Is Australia all out of weather, Ron? You've not updated since Monday although i see you've been on here. Hope all is ok for you at the moment and that you are still recovering from your fall. Hope the health is fine too.

The monsoon has retreated north and with it the threat of cyclones and tropical lows. We are still getting storms and cold fronts coming thru the south of the country. They have pretty well put all of the WA fires out. I have not been particularly well over the last couple of weeks. Just the normal flare where all of my chronic problems go rogue for a few weeks. I hate to think what will happen with all of my auto immune stuff when I finally get the jab later this month. Ron.

We had some more snow here last night but it's been compacted by footfall
and kids on sledges. It's been the coldest for 25yrs in some parts of the country but a high 0c here....it was pretty chilly during the night though and my teeth chattered all night and they were in a glass on the bedside table...

-27C with thin overcast. Not much new here, today is a copy of yesterday. I have gone cross country skiing every day since the start of the cold snap, and I can feel my body has better fitness. I have to watch that I don't overwork the right hip and lower back, I should be in good shape when it comes to wood cutting in the spring.

Enjoy that skiing, Biff. Today we have some lovely sunshine. No snow, but it's bloody freezing at 0c this morning. That's not cold by Canadian standards. Our grounds are absolutely frozen solid and the ice in buckets is dreadful. However, my pond is forever freezing over although i always use the trick that Carol mentioned, put a plastic ball on the water to lift out and leave the breathing hole. It was a bit tricky removing the ball today.

Rain coming tomorrow and cooler winds. Still very humid. The monsoon trough has reappeared. More croc trouble up at Cardwell in the Hinchenbrook channel . A four meter croc (could be the same one) pulled a 69 year old fisherman out of his boat and killed him. Fisheries found his remains and killed a four meter croc right beside him. They are 99% sure they got the right animal. Ron.

-31C and the wood furnace is hungry. Perhaps not as hungry as those crocks and their table manners. The weather maybe cold, but the forest creatures have been busy, the lynx are making tracks in the snow following the rabbits. There is a mother with two kittens working the area up the trail as well as martin and fox. Wolf tracks have been absent, they are probably north of the area following displaced wildlife adjacent to the recent clear cuts. Another sunny day coming up, good for skiing.

Love the quip about the crocs table manners, lol. I did laugh.

My snowdrops have recovered their upright position after the extreme cold and snow. Some primroses are out and it's a lot less cold. We are in for a good week they say with Saturday being around 17C. Oh, whoopeee. Maybe we are out of the bleakest part of winter. I feel the SAD is shifting away which is an absolute blessing. Can't wait to really pick up and discover myself in spring. Didn't have to de-ice the pond today either. Another whoopee.

So, is it foggy with you and you can't find your computer to describe the weather. Or were you all doing a Valentines day loved up, not talking to anyone other than the loved one? I sat it out alone watching tv and hardly noticed it.

a cold and breezy 1c but the snow has gone 'tho the streets are filthy.Supposed to reach 10c the rest of the week.We had a run (in the car of course ) along the coast yesterday after my jab. It's amazing how some folk will stand patiently nose to tail in the cold to buy a cup of over priced coffee from a kiosk, then try to trample you to the ground or push you aside once they have it.As to Valentines day....hmph !!!

-33C with brilliant sunshine. We are coming to the end of the cold snap as its expected to warm up with each passing day. I don't know what it is with people who pile into the busy noisy coffee shops for that overpriced coffee. I have no interest, and have my coffee at home. Afib was acting up with my heart yesterday, so no skiing. Today I will likely put on a couple of kms.

10c today !!! and I've had a couple of windows open. Had a walk into town and really struggled sweating under my mask. Les dismantled the bike shed as it was rotting with damp and when I got home i called "Hi,honey I'm home" which gave him a fright and he fell over a 4 by 4 and a pile of wood fell on him .....He's OK but I did have to hide a grin.

yes, but the truth is out, Carol. You had to hide the grin! Wicked. Hope he's ok. Don't tell Ron you giggled at hubby. Just been to Northampton for bloods (which i know won't be good this month) and it's fairly quiet. Get as far back as Daventry, it's anything but quiet. Weird. So many shops closing in towns though. It's looking incredibly bleak. Some charity shops still have Xmas stuff in their window display. Good news. There were lots of crocus up in the church grounds i cut through. the squirrels and pigeons there are probably a little happier now its a balmy 13C and no snow to be seen. I'm happier too until i get my results. The nodes are up again and i've pains return to my brain.

Carol, both my sheds have rotted. Could you send Les down on his bike, please?

-27C Sunny and slightly milder. I stayed closer to home yesterday and chose to walk the road in case my heart started acting up again. I have a couple of rotten sheds that I have to nurse along by keeping the roofs clear of heavy snow. I may have to get a large one built to accomodate all the stuff I have accumulated over the decades of living here. I am constantly repurposing old stuff into something new, saving me time and money.

Still heavy rain in North Qld but still areas of severe drought in the centre of the state . Strong SE winds along the NSW coast and SE QLD coast. They are bringing showers ashore but strong winds don't tend to bring much rain. The local SE QLD water grid dams are down to 57% capacity so we really need a couple of rain events to set us up for summer. We are starting the virus jab at the end of next week with front line workers first and then probably us old farts in early march. I've avoided the virus now I just have to survive the vaccine with my compromised immune system. Ron.

with pleasure Di. but you need the patience of a saint and I would'nt do that to you.

Bufford,

Your weather is down here in the desert southwest, acting a fool.
... i think it might be drunk ...
... it keeps mumbling something about -40* is -40*

Can you do anything about getting it back to the artic where it belongs?

Thanks in advance!
Sorry, no I have no such great powers; but I've tamed the cold winters days through a good afternoon ski, enough firewood to get me through, and a glass of scotch for the long cold nights in the warmth of a wood heated house.

I hate waiting for folk coming ,even if,as is usual,I don't have any where important to be. It's another nice day at 10c and sunny with a bit of a breeze.Les had another shielding notification and has to stay in until March 31st. Fat chance of that mind you, although he is extremely careful and not afraid to give people who get too close a "talking to" which can be cringe making sometimes..

Not too bad today, but showers. I did get a patch of garden done whilst listening to the birds singing. I have my first crocus up, delighted! bloods are still normal, in fact dropped a point. I'll have a chat with McMillan nurse next week if things are still painful. I too am supposed to lockdown until March 31st. No chance. We're near getting back to normal (apart from the new variants of which Finland now has one). Oh well. I keep myself socially distanced whenever i can. Quite difficult in the Aldi store though. It's not spacious.

Wet overnight. Fortunately with the prevailing wind my town is in a bit of a rain shadow. Not so in the north of the state with the area from Cooktown to Cairns receiving over 400mm of rain in the past 3 days. Australia is having a bit of a stoush with facebook at the moment. They shut down a lot of emergency and public safety networks yesterday. The Govt has not backed down and is passing legislation to force tech services to pay news networks for any of their news that the social networks have been using for nothing. Nobody here has ever voted for facebook to run the country. Dangerous times. Ron.

We've been getting major Siberian air masses for the last ten days or so. This morning was -17c. All last week the temps were in the minus twenties and got as low as -29c. I saw four Blue Jays and a Steller's Jay this afternoon, all hanging out together eating peanuts. That was one of a kind experience for me. It made my day!

Well, I'm six foot one and I'm tons of fun... I'd like to say hello, to the white, to the brown, the black and the white, the purple and yellow!

I'm a big bearded 190 lb hunk of man, Diane! .........LMAO

Cold and a lot of rain today. God, I'm freezing, and i thought it was warming up. How wrong i was. Still, it is winter i suppose.

Great to hear from you again, Chris. Somehow i never imagined you that size and with a beard! Mind, you always seem like fun on here. But no wonder your folk feel they can ask you to do all those chores. They'd never ask a 5 foot female who's very slightly build to do the job. I couldn't anyway. I'd prob have to turn up with the badgers to get the weeding done.

-16C Mainly sunny. It was quite the show listening to the unfolding events of the touch down of the Martian rover yesterday. It technologically amazing how they do this cosmic hole in one from so far away. The world can use a boost in these strange times. I don't have a facebook account and stay well away from it. Glad to see you back Chris. This old graybeard is only a fraction of what he once was, but the main thing is that the lights are still on.

Hi All
I went for the ultrasound on the 12th Feb no lesions or nodules i suppose that is good news, also took a stool sample in for calpotectin awaiting results.
My hubby & myself had our covid jabs yesterday I have quite a sore arm and joint pain hubby is the same.
I hope everyone is ok and if you have had the jab hopefully the side effects are not too bad.
The weather here has gone back to wind & rain it is warmer.
Take care folks Val😷

So far so good today. Slightly warmer and no rain so far. I've managed a tad of gardening this morning and had a chat with my neighbour who had her front room window smashed last night. We've had a few issues with troubled lads around here for a few years. Bloody annoying. Trouble is the police don't want to bother.

It must be scarey when you're on your own. Please don't confront them Di., and keep your windows shut and the blinds / curtains closed when you have the lights on. Having said that I would be worried if Les had a" word "
with them too....12c and grey.......Val, we had no side effects when we had our jabs. It might be worth mentioning to whoever's interested as this is all new to the world and who knows what might materialise.

-15C under sunshine. The cases are going up around here and the worry is that the variants are probably in the mix. I have no idea when we are going to be able to get the jab, the authorities don't know either. The federal government dropped the ball in their efforts to procure the vaccines leaving Canada dead last in the G7 group of nations to acquire vaccines.

-5C Going for a snowmobile ride today. I cannot find the cups I bought that I was going to bring along for the trip. So no further searching, I'll just buy more. For the price it isn't worth getting worked up into a tizzy trying to find them. That is why I have double and tripple of many small hand tools. Its cheaper to replace than to keep banging my head against the wall.

Buff, i've learned that one too. Not to stress myself is worth a bit anyway. I just buy another. I hate it when i hassle myself so i keep calm and get another. Enjoy that ride.

Very dull today. Tried to rain but didn't and somewhat of a non-descript day really. One daffodil head is ready to open and there is one crocus up in my lawn. it's always a lone one each year but it's put in its yellow/brown appearance again this year like a beacon. Primroses are up and i have tiny leaves unfolding on my rose bushes. Well pleased. One more week and we'll be into March....sigh. It seems so long this year.

Very warm and humid today with 34c , Perth in WA is worse with 39c. We had hot westerly winds overnight. I was still tossing and turning at 4.30 am. I think I got around 4 hrs sleep. I had the fan on me all night but it was just moving hot air. I generally have a good memory. The only time it fails is when I carefully put things away so I won't lose them, then forget where I put them. Ron.

I wonder where you live to get -33°c, it must be Canada near the artic circle. Do you get polar bears and penguins ? CatLover in London.

Hello from Suburbia in London,
I had my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine last week from a very large syringe. Two days with a sore arm but no other side effects. Next dose in three month's time. 80% immunity after 3 weeks so still wearing a mask and socially distancing. Not much to do so it's life in Ground Hog Day. Trying to kick off a health and exercise programme but "Orange is the New Black" on Netflix is great entertainment and chocolate digestives with tea is much tastier than lettuce leaves.

Hi All
The weather here has been wet and windy for the most part, Carol I have not heard Sparrow Fart for ages lol.
I have spoken to other people that have had side effects such as headache and flu like symptoms, I am glad you and hubby were fine.
I feel better today no joint pain and the arm feels better, hubby has gone to work also.
I can not wait for spring and brighter weather who knows may be able to go out for coffee and cake.
Take care folks.🍰☕

Penguins? Lol there are none in the northern hemisphere. I got wired up for the heart monitor yesterday and have to carry it around for three days. Wearing a shirt with a pocket to put the gadget into makes it easy and sleep was no problem whatsoever. I was concerned that the wires would pull off from tossing and turning in bed. 0C and cloud, no good for outdoor activity as the wax will work poorly for crosscountry skiing, and fan cooled engines run hot on snowmobiles. Going for a walk which I may do later.

Really feels like spring today. Went out without a coat. Got my washing dry on the line as it was very windy. The radiant warmth through my window this morning was wonderful. Feeling slightly better now, thank God.

Hope the heart's ok, Buff. those are high temps Ron. Hope you get more sleep soon. Doing without sleep is hard work. It just wears the whole body and mind down. I love a good night's sleep, however, most nights i don't get that. Could be age, or stress. Chris, it's probably too icy for the bike at the moment. We don't want it skidding. You'll appreciate it more if you wait until it's safe on the road. Can't believe some of the polar vortex areas in the US. Has Canada also got this?

Cooler change coming thru today .It is expected to run into hot westerly winds and cause storms on the divide. We will get those storms this evening. Brisbane copped one with strong winds heavy rain and hail as well as extreme lightning last night. Our temps are expected to be 29c for the rest of the week. Ron.

Yeah we got the cold too, Diane. I'm pretty used to it being -30 once in awhile... Canadian eh? Today started out around -3c and we have risen to 10c as of now. There's a lot of snow that's melting, there are small streams running down the curb sides everywhere.

Wow, we have 16C outdoors this morning. the sun is trying to stay bright though we have got quite a bit of cloud. the wind is still quite strong though. Shame i have no more washing to do. I could save some on the drier. Can't wait for the next four days to be over. So looking forwards to this spring. I guess Chris is counting down days too. Just want to be out somewhere on a bike. -30C is something. In Siberia animals froze whilst standing or walking. It's so harsh and very sad. People shouldn't leave animals out in such cold.

-8C under sunshine. I might try to go for a ski later only for the reason of getting my heart rate up for the monitor. The conditions today will be hard pack and icy, not particularly good for skiing, we need some fresh snow. It was mild yesterday reaching +2C making the top layers of snow soggy. I stayed home, loaded the jerry cans into the truck to do a fuel run when I have to turn in the heart monitor. The polar vortex is a new term for describing what is a cold front ahead of a pocket of colder air.

Hi All
The weather is quite windy we have had two days of heavy rain.
I went to the shop to do a little shopping it was good to be out
In the fresh air.
Buff I hope the heart monitor is OK when they check it so you can spend more time in your great outdoors, I know it must be
tough living in the wilds but being close to nature makes it worthwhile.
I am quite envious no traffic or stupid people to contend with is my kind of heaven.
I would love to live in the country but alas it is too expensive.

Take care folks Val

We had rain overnight but nothing compared to Corrindi in north east NSW. Around 300mm fell in the area on the area just west of the town and around 150mm fell on the town. At two am this morning several residents had to limb up onto their roofs as flood water swept thru their homes. Fortunately no lives were lost. I really found heart monitors a pain in the butt Buff. I am a very restless sleeper and I wake up several times a night to untangle. I didn't wear it for a/fib , they were checking for ectopics . The last test recorded around ten thousand. They have not treated me for them . the atrial flutter and a/fib was picked up on ecg's when I was in hospital for acute vertigo attacks. I'm still on warfarin every day. Ron.

-17C under sunshine. I did go for a ski yesterday and conditions were better than I thought, that little bit of snow 0.5cm of flurries made all the difference coating the ice and crusty layer beneath. Carrying and sleeping with the heart monitor was easier than I thought it would be. I was getting entangled with wires on the first day, but found that stuffing the device into a T shirt pocket solved all my wiring problems and I was able to sleep without even noticing the device, or disturbed by it. Carrying it any other way was problematic, so I lucked out figuring how to carry it from day one.

10c and sunny with not a cloud to be seen, but there's a chilly breeze.Had a good couple of hours on the bikes well away from the coast. Here's a few lines I've adapted...I wandered lonely as a cloud
that floats on high o'er vale and hill
when all at once I saw a crowd
Queuing for coffee, they'll be there still.......

The Coral sea and Pacific ocean have had above normal temps. The air above the ocean is saturated with water and with the constant SE trade winds the humidity in SE Qld has rarely been below 60% this summer . It was close to 90% over night and makes sleep very difficult without air con. There is a low pressure system just off the east coast of Cape Yorke. It has been in the same spot for over a week and is expected to turn into a cyclone. Even as a low it is dumping heavy rain on the already drenched areas of north Qld.Ron.

Well, it's actually been mild and sunny although i woke to a frost, but a light one this morning. Tidied up all my utility room but left the back door open accidently. Need to tidy it again as the badgers found my suet balls again. Oh, God, the bloody mess they make is dreadful. I don't hate them but their not quite hedgehog enough for my liking. I can't accost them and check them for ticks. Wouldn't catch me near them. My first daffs are now opening and there are plenty around the lanes along with the snowdrops. Don't often see them out together though. I'm feeling tons better due to longer daylight and the release from SAD. Does feel like spring is in the air. Loving it! I've been attempting to do my garden but it's hard work. My garden thermometer says 28C. I think it might be broken!

Lynda, did you miss that polar vortex that hit Texas? That looked awful. 75F is quite high (i think). I'm a bit envious. I sincerely hope to go abroad this year. Mind, probably holidays will be costlier as places try and recuperate monies lost over lockdown. Really hate the thought of my almost 17 year old cat in the cattery so i might just leave it. What a shame though. I need out of my bungalow.

Glad you got a ski in Buff and i hope the heart is ok. I am not sure about that humidity Ron. 90% sounds awful. Really feeling for you. Have you recovered from the fall now? sincerely hope you are better. Chris, 10C sounds quite good for Canada. Val, i've been out without the coat on for the first time this year. Felt good. Carol, cafe's should have separate tea counter but then i'd have drunk my tea by the time my friend just gets served lol. Nothing worse than the bloody coffee queue to infuriate tea drinkers.

-10C under sunshine. Was it the flu, or was it the macaroni salad, but I sure got sick yesterday afternoon. I was already constipated, but by late afternoon I felt like I was about to blow up. Then came the massive bowel movements and I thought I was done, but to make it short a couple hours later I was running clear enough for a colonoscopy. I was totally drained, freezing cold despite keeping the fire on at 27C inside. I looked up the symptoms but they all lean towards eating something bad. It could be either the mac salad or the pickled herring. I don't want to go through that again. Feeling better today even though I spent the whole night walking on the ceilings having to go every hour.

We have a cyclone watch for the northern coast around Cairns. There has been a low roaming around in a small area for nearly a week and now it has intensified and is expected to be named on Tuesday. Hot steamy and sticky for my area. No fun and not much luck trying to sleep. Ron.

Another nice sunny day and 11c.Had another ride out on the bikes and all I'll say is that we survived....Some of the younger generation were out in T.s and shorts !!!! I can only think that they wake up with the heating on,see the sunshine, and imagine the temps are the same outdoors......Hope you feel better Buff. It's an awful state to be in,more so if you're on your own,I imagine.Having said that Les never knows if I'm not well during the night, but at least I know he's there.I don't suppose Cat offered you any support .

-7C gray, Feeling back to normal, Carol it is difficult at the best of times living on one's own, as there is nobody to help out, its all upon my own shoulders. Getting sick makes it all the worst, making me wonder how I'll cope when most others get help. Fortunately I have good neighbors when things get serious. Now its the laptop's turn, I did an update last evening, and now it runs like crap. I'll do a system restore if it doesn't clear up.

The northern low is ramping up overnight with several towns getting 200mm + rainfall. I am the opposite Buff , my neighbors don't give me any feeling of security , instead they add to my problems. I am pretty much on my own when it comes to illness and injury. Do gooders around the place are always telling me I should go into aged care. They have just finished a two year review of aged care in Australia. The results have not been released yet but early indications are that people over 70 living at their own home are safer and healthier than those living in aged care homes. I will not be going into one anytime soon Ron.

My thermometer reads 9C. I don't believe it. It's quite chilly out there. I totally understand the living alone bit. God, what i would have given for someone to help me out during my cancer treatment. It is a bit hard when you have absolutely no family nearby. Mind, i don't miss the snoring that went on with my partner though i'm told i have sleep apnea. I'm probably never gonna get another partner, however, my cat is very easily pleased with life with me. My neighbours don't help me out either Ron.

I do live in a village, Val, although i believe around 5,000 live here. It's all the new estates. buff, i think it was the herring. I have issues with anything other than bland fish. Lynda, you're so lucky to miss that awful snow. Mind, if you lived in Minnesota then i think you've done your time with the cold.

Started at 4c with a heavy mist off the sea,and rose to 6c and clear.
There is no way I'm going into care, ever !!! I did say to Scott a while back "promise you won't put me in a home" and he said "Ma,by the time it comes to that, you won't know what's going on " Then cleared off to Australia to avoid decisions. If I'm last man standing I'll push a pile of furniture behind the front door and will lower a bucket on a rope out of the upper window so the neighbours can get my whisky and ciggies and chocolate and icecream when they're passing. I don't smoke or drink now
but I can persuaded myself.

I must consider myself lucky to have neighbors who are willing to step up when the going is rough. I return the favors any way I can. Living remote helps bring people together when things are difficult. When times are good such as in winter, we go snowmobiling in groups, and enjoy each other's company. As for winter, I am getting a bad feeling that it will be a very long drawn out spring. It apears that we will be going into warm weather early, which often takes our snow too early, only for it to turn cold later but not enough to keep the snowpack together. If it does I'll buckle under the firewood effort and get er done. -22C under sunshine, this might be the last of the dry cold.

Not so cold out today, however there is absolutely no sign of the sun. Indeed it's as gloomy out as it is in. Feeling tired and lethargic too. I'm trying to get things done when my body doesn't want to. Mind, i still feel better now it's not dark until 6pm. What a difference a couple of months make. I've got quite a few daffodils out now plus the primroses. the shoots on other shrubs and trees are starting to show now. I do love these signs of life coming through. The dead months have gone, virtually. Enjoy your day.

Hi All
A lovely spring like day today just a little cold.

These people are very clever.
Take care everyone Val😪

Windy, very windy here in Brooklyn, NY where I'm working this week...had to shut down our Covid testing site for a couple of hours so that repairs could be made to our drive-through tent.....thankfully the wind is slowly dying down - staying around 12-15mph instead of 15-20!
