What is YOUR weather like today??

Glad we don't get such snow levels to flood here, Buff. Lovely and sunny out today. Not too cold either. i'm doing my best to keep heating down now. Glad Feb is almost over. Just another 6 days and then we can look forward to the spring equinox. I do look forwards to that. I feel i come alive again. Not that i've got much hope really, rofl. But spring makes me feel good. I have my first daffodil out now and it's not dark until 6pm which is better. Mornings are much lighter too. Think the bright light of the sun today has put me in better spirits. Not that i've got much done!

You would have to be a magician to cheer me up at the moment Carol . I have been up for most of the night. We have had a series of torrential storms. As far as rain we have recorded around 160 mm since yesterday morning and it is still pouring. They are estimating 60-120mm a day till monday. I have been bailing since 3.30 when it started pouring in. It is flooding the bathroom , toilet and laundry. It is obvious that the upstairs roof is leaking and is running thru the floor upstairs into my computer room. I am tired wet and cranky. If one of the real estate mob walked in at the moment I would mop the floor with them. Ron.

Oh, gosh Ron. So sad to hear that. that's too much rain to contend with. I don't think we really get 120mm a day, that's 12 cm, which is more than 8 nches. I wish i could come over and help. I'm not much use physically, but it bothers me to know you have to put up with this. Wish you had a relative to depend on. I don't either. It's so hard being on your own and ill, isn't it folk? Stay safe Ron. I'm gonna worry about the mold again now. Environmental health should enforce your landlord to deal with it. Do you have a Citizens Advice Bureau? I think you might need help from a solicitor too. I don't like hassle so don't complain either.

A huge area of SEQ from Frazer Island is under flood alert. A small suburb of Gympie just north of me received 420 mm overnight. We don't need the State emergency service, we need an ark. My supermarket is on the banks of a local creek just 400 meters up the road from me. The underground carpark has nearly five foot of water in it. The main problem is that this isn't even the main rain event , the heaviest rain is expected for today,Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I will try to get a bit of sleep this morning. Sleep will be at a premium for me in the next few days. Ron.

Ron, would blow up furniture be a better idea for your apartment. 420mm =42cm =just over 16 inches? OMG! Love the ark remark. Brilliant. But i'm concerned for you, and your wildlife if worse is to follow. How do Aussies survive there?

13C and slightly overcast although the sun was out this morning. Some of my snowdrops are now dying and i've got green tips on my lilac tree and some new shoots on rose bushes. Tomorrow, we have no covid to worry about as such. I will wear my mask. Many still are although i worry about feeling silly and like a neurotic old bag.

-23C Brilliant sunshine. The crew came out and shoveled off the problem area of the roof, it should be okay now, unless we get more large snowfalls which is not out of the question around here. Ron that's awful, if I only had the shirt on my back I would walk away and move to another country and start over, or use the landlord's head to plug the hole in the roof; but the latter appeals to me more. Di I can hardly wait for the day that I can ditch the masks, I want to book a flight to visit family, but I will wait for the mask mandate to end first. Its hard enough going into the stores wearing one, but for hours on end traveling it would probably be my undoing.

Ron I agree with all of the above posts regarding your situation. It's bloody diabolical !!! We would all help you if we could. I hope you know that but words are no help.I know. It's blustery again here but sunny, and I'm going to try very hard not to whinge until you dry out at least

Another day another drama. It rained for most of the night but only fairly light . the deluge is due around mid day with 180mm a day for the next two days. But that isn't the drama. Peg upstairs. left her sink running and has flooded my bathroom ,toilet and laundry. It poured thru the bathroom light and that has torn away from the roof .Ron.

Ron, i'm thinking Peg needs to get down there and mop up for you. Whilst she at it, just move all your stuff upstairs and chuck her stuff down the stairs. Problem could be solved. Aside from that it's worrying that you're having to live with that. I don't gather that you go out too much. I so wish i could do something more for you. Wanna give us your landlords address?! I'll deal with him and so will others.

-32C Clear and bright. I couldn't handle a situation like that, there would be one less landlord, and they can say what they want about the tennant in jail, but at least it would be dry in there. I woke up this morning and turned on the news and heard bombs landing on civilians in Ukraine, just what is this world coming to, misery is everywhere.

It poured down overnight, at least another 100-150 mm and possibly another 180mm for today. I rang the real estate agent yesterday to tell them what was happening. the lady who is in direct charge of my property was supposed to ring me back, so far nothing. The world is not a happy place at the moment. At least it is not raining missiles here. Ron.

Ron, she knows the state of those properties, she's avoiding you and the truth. She's not worth a penny. Gosh, i wish i could find you somewhere else to live.

Sunny most the day. Not too cold. Not much in the way of heating. Think i might be adjusting to cooler temps here.

Very tired. It is just on 3.30 am . I have been bailing non stop since 6.30 yesterday morning. The water is coming in in places it has never come before. If the flat wasn't full of my stuff I would probably lock the door , break the key off in the lock and just walk away. Ron.(back to bailing)

Sounds like landlady is an absolute criminal. Can't the police and environmental health oblige her/him to do something. Sounds uninhabitable, Ron. Guess they're willing to completely trash the property to uninhabitable rather than maintain their property. It'll cost them one day! They'll be blaming you for not reporting the disrepair. Can't stand landlords who are idiots. They simply exist like a lot of people just to take money. I'm trying to get rid of a load of stuff myself. Gonna leave myself with table, chair, bed, lamp.

It's 9.30 I'm finally going to bed. It is still raining. I cannot believe how much rain last night. A man fell over in deep water in central Brisbane and drowned. An emergency service truck with 4 fast water rescue workers hit some water at Ipswich and rolled . Three escaped but one man drowned. goodnight or should I say good morning. Ron.

Good idea Buff. I've seen the flooding on the internet. Looks horrendous and is near Ron. Wish i could do something for you, Ron. Lovely and sunny today not too cold again either. Really starting to adjust to the colder weather as the elec co is putting prices up again! Let's hope for a good summer. Ron could do with sunny weather too. I'm so sad for you Ron.

It is still raining , not as bad as it has been but it has moved south to Brisbane and the gold coast. . Overnight on Thursday - Friday we had 296 mm of rain here. Early Saturday morning I cut a chunk out of the door sill on the back door. It allows me to stop bailing and empties 80% of the water. There is a concrete pathway outside the back door. It acts as a drain for the mountain at the back. At one stage it was flowing like a waterfall and when I was cutting the sill I was very close to getting washed off my feet. That would not have ended well. There have been seven deaths so far in SEQ. In one week the water storage in SEQ dams has gone from 59% to 100%. People are being asked to conserve water because the treatment plants cannot cope with all of the mud and detritus in the dams. Just north at Gympie half the town has been evacuated. The mary river peaked at over 23m last night, its highest level since the 1800's. The Brisbane ,Logan and Bremer rivers are now flooding in Brisbane with evacuations under way. It is still pouring down in Brisbane , Gold cast and norther NSW. Ron.

Terrible Ron. Australia never relents with it's tortuous weather. How can a human cope with that. Thank God most Aussies don't have your accommodation. Think you need to build homes on stilts down there, Ron. So far this morning it's really sunny. Don't feel at all tempted to put the heating on at the moment. Hopefully we will have a glorious spring. I can hope

The rain has been relentless all day in SEQ. In the last 24 hours Wivenhoe dam has gone from the drinking waster reserve of 1.43 million mega litres being full . There is a reserve space of 2 million megalitres going from 0% to 77% full. Hinze dam on the gold Coast is 15 meters over the spillway . nearly all rivers in the south are in full flood, including the brisane river which is heading for major flood levels. My flat really smells like a swamp. I have not been able to start cleaning because there is still coming in. Ron.

I saw those overflowing dams on the internet Ron, I would be afraid of living below those dams in case they burst. Spring maybe very difficult here. We went back to the cabin and there is a lot of snow, as it is almost waist deep. If it melts too quickly it will cause flooding and make it very difficult to get from the parking area to the house. I'll be watching the weather closely, if there is going to be a sudden warm up I will stock up so that I will not have to leave the house. The lakes are impossible to cross with the heavy deep slush that will trap any kind of snowmobile, this is caused by the weight of all the snow sitting on the ice.

Wow, reminds me of the time when British weather men lied. No hurricane at all. Gosh, i remember hearing those words on tv and i went out the next day to post a letter and i couldn't (i've probab ly mentioned this before) The wind blew me backwards. His name was Michael Fish. I'm sure it's on the internet. Let's all laugh. Everything was downed, so many trees, so many rooves off. But we weren't warned of how bad it would be. Well, that was an experience. Good luck with weather forecasts, Chris. Just stay safe from floods, falling trees, high winds, volcanoes, earthquakes and everything. Hope there's some relief with floods in BC.

Floods in Brisbane river were expected o get to 11 meters today. They reached just over 14 meters. At 11 meters around 1500 houses were expected to be inundated. Since then another 2200 homes have gone under. The rain has shifted to northern NSW overnight. One town near Lismore received over 600 mm overnight. Every catchment in northern NSW is on evacuation alert. Lismore has reached the highest river level ever recorded. There are people on house roofs everywhere in town waiting for rescue. one old couple is trapped inside their roof cavity with water still rising. The main drinking water dam is upstream of Lismore. The water is flowing over the top of the dam and their is a possible dam failure alert on it. Strange times. Ron.

I'm serious... I really want to contribute. I wish I could come and help! Ukraine also has my support for the terrible war inflicted upon them. I would like to help Aussie families as well. Putin can eat the cyanide pie and we can help everyone. I hope.... If you could get me to Ukraine, I would put my life on the line fighting alongside. I'm a very good shot.

Thanks for the offer Chris. One thing that Australia does have is community spirit. When ever there is a flooding event the Mud army mobilize . As soon as the area is safe thousands of people with trucks , utes shovels ,pressure cleaners ,brooms , and tons of disinfectant cleaning liquid and cleaning cloths appear as if by magic. each suburb has its coordination team and they allocate house numbers in each street to mud army teams. They are so organized they even have medical stations for any one who gets cut or injured. The flood water is certainly unsanitary. WE usually find that close by residents outside the flooded areas organize food for the mud army with plenty of tea coffee and cold water. Everybody is voluntary and is all done free of charge. To see it in action is very uplifting. Cheers Ron.

Ron, at least your community spirit sounds great. Thank God for that. It does sound like it's getting to disaster levels. I'm going to look on youtube for more videos. It's actually colder today. The rain is back too. Got to go to hospital and don't feel like going anywhere. Chris, i've thought about taking a trip to the UKraine myself. Many Russians are unhappy about the war. I so feel for the caravans of mothers and children departing and crossing borders. What the Hell is Putin about? Stupid bloke. Just not necessary to do it. His nation is big enough. I too am a person who donates to disasters. It's never much but what i can afford they can have.

Your people are tough, and know what to do when disaster strikes Ron, with how they respond and help each other. Hopefuly those dams will hold, pretty scary looking from the pictures in the news. I wish one of Putin's insiders would put a hole in this guy's head as Putin is increasingly becoming isolated by his own club. So much unnecessary misery by this war during a time when the world has had enough of covid.

Most of SEQ is still flooded, the rivers are rising and falling with the tides and causing major problems. Mount Glorious recorded the highest 4 day rainfall in the SE with 1770 mm for four days, now things are desperate in NSW and the east coast low is even expected to get into northern Tasmania. two of the rivers on the NSW north coast have peaked at over 14m , two meters higher than the highest recorded level. There are hundreds of people still on roofs in Lismore. They are being rescued by SES, locals in private boats and RAAF choppers. There are 8 deaths from drowning in Qld with another 3 missing. They have no idea in NSW though one 82 year old lady was found drowned in her flooded home. At a town called Woodburn at least ten carloads of people were stranded on a high railway overpass bridge . They had five horses with then. They were all rescued around lunch time.(not sure about the horses). We are expecting to be hit by severe storm cells on Thursday, Friday and Sat. with a chance of 40mm each day. Ron.

The Brisbane river is finally falling ,however levels in the Logan river are rising. The flood in Gympie is passing. Unfortunately the flood is passing downstream to Maryborough. The Mud army as been mobilized in the SE. Registration is via an on line site. It crashed after an hour at 2000 people. All local councils are coordinating the volunteers trying to deploy them close to their home territory to minimize traffic chaos. The flood death toll stands at 9 in Qld. NSW is a mess with never before recorded flood peaks. There have been two deaths reported , both elderly women in their 80's found in their flooded homes. They started a registrar of missing persons in NSW flood areas. It currently stands at 1100. The east coast low is now spread from Newcastle to the Vic border. It is expected to move onshore this afternoon and tonight with three figure falls and major flooding. We are expecting severe storms over SEQ for the next three days. Ron.

-12C clear skies after a flurry overnight. I've been out clearing the roofs of my sheds with the snow rake. The snowpack is over a meter thick, I am taking it slow as the work is hard on one's abdominal muscles. The doctor called and said the ultrasound revealed biliary sludge in the gallbladder. Lately it has been better, but the pain back in January was peaking, I may have passed the worst of it back then. The bombing going on in the Ukraine is shocking, unbelievable cruelty against innocent people. Its of concern as this could escalate into something far worse very quickly.

Fighting my own war here. Fell in the garden last night trying to sort everything after my neighbour had his trees taken down. Debris everywhere and all my garden stuff moved to the other side so they could work. They didn't move the stuff back so i grappled with my very tall bird feeding station and took a fall. God, my head. It's so bruised and swollen. I got a headache today. Dont want to nip off to hospital as i've only had the one jab and i'm no fan of the horrid nhs. Weather has been wet and much colder, i resisted the heating on though. War is diabolical. Can't stand Putin and his evil arrogance. Those poor human beings. They won't even let the women and children leave the bombed cities to escape abroad with kids. Disgusting. I'd get over there if i was younger and healthier. No chance of me being that again.

No good news here. Nearly half a million people in the area from Newcastle south to the vic border including all of Sydney and suburbs are being told to evacuate or prepare to evacuate. A lot of people have declared the town of Lismore a write off and many wonder if it is worth repairing. We have more problems in SEQ . This morning we were hit by a giant storm front bringing ,heavy rain, large hail and wind. I am flooding again. My area received 52 mm of rain in half an hour. More severe storms are expected throughout the day. I hope you are ok Di please take care. I'd better go and check my indoor pool. PS. I often wondered what would happen if the leader of one of the nuclear nations went insane. Now we know ,two out of three so far,IE Russia and North Korea and the jury is out on China. Ron.

Spring like thawing conditions here. The temperature has been close to 6c all day. Damn, I wish someone would take out the meatheads in charge of this mess in Europe. First covid, then war, with threats of nukes... Lovely... Just lovely. Peace to all... Slava Ukraine!

A little less bleak this morning, that's the weather, not me. I might nip to the hospital. My problem is my brain. They won't scan it! Actually docs letter was for neurologist. I found a place to pay without referral. Just takes about 3 weeks. God, did i smack my skull. I don't like, nor trust our NHS. They're so protecting of each other, they care for themselves only. Anyway, lots of daffodils coming out now and the snowdrop are turning brown. I noticed yesterday there's a bit more chirping from the birds. Spring is nearly here, but they won't be nesting in the trees next door now they are gone, but i do have amazing light now. His branches crossed right over to my other neighbours! My washing won't be shat on by the birds. I might get a lawn growing too. What a difference. Ron, sounds horrendous. Bit of an exodus like the Ukraine. Stay safe all. Get a lilo for a bed Ron, wish i could do more.

My problem is my brain

...i have that problem too, .... lol ...

I don't even bother with the hospital / emergency department anymore

Do you have volunteer firefighters where you are?
They might be able to give you a quick look over and evaluate your need for services/bump you up the list.

I'm not going to lecture you, but damn it, this is one of the only things you can't really evaluate yourself

... please, go and get checked out somewhere TODAY ...

-22C Clear. Looks like a good day for a ski now that I caught up on the chores around here. Ron the flooding is terrible; on the news I saw a picture of the flooding in Lismore where the McDonalds restaurant is under several meters of water, the before and after pictures are dramatic. The weather here is gentle by comparison. Pug, you would like it here, winter really is paradise, and I am not looking forward to spring one bit, winter is very peaceful, and with wood heat comfortable and affordable.

I wish I was at a racetrack. Just heard Putin bombed Europes largest nuclear power plant, it's on fire and nobody is able to put it out due to the fighting. I'm an ex firefighter and this just crushes me. If it blows up we can expect 10 X the damage of the Chernobyl disaster. Still on the thaw here at 7c. I pray for peace. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦

There's enough fighting already.

Find peace in helping those who can not help themselves
I WILL fight if and when I'm needed! I am big and strong and I can shoot and fight. Yes, I'm ill like everyone else, but I'm determined to leave my mark on this world and I won't stand for this shit! I am prepared to be killed if that's what it takes to kick Putins, and all his chronies teeth in. END OF STORY! Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦

I'd do it too. Just to let all know, i'm having the ambulance attend me soon and they will decide my head issue. I haven't recovered from the fall & i went to get petrol yesterday, felt very peculiar driving and got as far as the village shop so came home. I'll see what they say. I expect they will take me in as i still feel 'lost in space'. I'm staggering a bit too.
Weather is colder and rain is due.
p.s. Can't believe Putin sticks missiles near nuclear power stations.

Hope you'll be OK Di, accidents are just that . but it's something you can do without eh ?
Chris,I can feel your anger and passion but let's hope the war will resolve it's self before you're needed, I'm a none believer because I find it difficult to understand why children, particlarly, are allowed to suffer and be murdered, Why are prayers being ignored otherwise ?
Wet and miserable here today.

-20C Mainly sunny. I'm not very strong anymore, but if I had the chance I could remove Putin's head in a moment and he would make for a good round bowling ball, ten pin for sure. They say the nuclear plant is safe for now, but with all the artillery fire going on, its only a matter of time. More stoma maintenance and I need it.

I'm back from the hospital now. Told me what i knew. It's brain cancer. More scans tomorrow am. Well, at least i knew i had that from the pain that never went, i'm just pissed off the hospital i'm under refused to scan it for 3 years. It's worse than when i was first diagnosed with ovarian. Mind, the pain there is nothing to where it is where they can't see anything yet. Strange. Relieved, but i think i will be gone by September. I'm knackered and going to bed. Love you all. STay safe.

I am so sorry Di. There is nothing I can say to make you feel better. Just wait for the follow up scans to see what the extent of the problem is. All that you can hope for is that they have made a mistake and it may be a small bleed from that fall . Hugs mate, my thoughts are with you always Ron.

Oh Di I want to reach through the screen and give you a hug. Lets hope its a missed diagnosis or something that one can live with. I am shedualed for day surgery next month to remove a large nodual growing on my stoma. I am pretty soar from having many small ones removed yesterday. Its snowing heavily today, and I will just rest today, for there will be a lot of shoveling afterwards.

Blimey, booked my scan for 9.30. 6 hour wait. I walked! The NHS have had 3 years to see to it. It really isn't worth it now. I think i shall sleep this day through. Sorry.

Di,
... words come hard to me, (especially as of late) but i have to say this ...

even now, with all the clouds on the horizon, some goodness always shines thru

... and hopefully, if you stick around long enough, the sun will set on many a day worth living

... take the time to savor these moments ..

Feel the warmth of the sun, feel the gentle breeze caress your skin, smell the poignant fragrances of your garden

... take the time to soak it into the depths of your being ...

... and know you are loved !

I love you buddy. Please keep in touch and don't be afraid to ask for help... In any way. I will help you as if you are family.

Chris.

-8c this morning. The shit is really hitting the fan. I need someone to look after my folks if I have to leave. There are 16,000 Foreign Legion forces at this point. I was a firefighter in the past and I'm not scared of fire and explosions. I have lived it. I am 190lbs, 86KG and 6 foot1'' 185.42 cm and in fairly good shape. I've held a rifle since being a child. If Kyiv is taken and needs help... What do I have to lose? I want to kick Putin's teeth in, by any means necessary! I'm looking for body armor and a Kevlar helmet. I couldn't die for a better cause. If any Ukrainians are reading this give me a number to call. I'm all In! Call me in for service, Volodymyr Zelensky! Anyone who knows how to join the Foreign Legion, please give me contact info. SLAVA UKRAINI!

Thank you everyone, i'm feeling a tad better today. The hospital made me take 4 dexamethasone and i was up all friday night in a terrible state. I'll sort myself tomorrow and think about a medical solicitor for negligence. Unfortunately our bus service is being cut and i don't know if i am going to be allowed to drive. I have so far, but since the fall, my eye feels out of place, but there is cancer behind it. I have to find out which one and see what they say.

Yesterday i noticed some shrubs are getting very light green foliage. For the first time in 6 years my Camellia is flowering. It's pink (id forgotten) It's starting and none too soon. I'd love hedgehogs to turn up and we don't have badgers anymore. The birds are singing beautifully. Actually i love days when i notice nature. T-bone, i loved the messages. I needed those. It does help as i have no contact with family at all and very few friends since cancer/covid and lockdowns. I have been isolated from life for a while. I know a few of us are around there.

Chris, you really have the loveliest personality. I agree that war is futile, especially on innocent people. Putin is rather mad. Why he needs to challenge the world at his age for Russians who condemn the invasion it all seems rather strange. Let's hope it's not Alzhiemers. I think the world is providing all the necessary armourment for Ukrainians to use. Great to know so many Foreign League humans are out there. I'm proud of the French legionnaires, often they come from very difficult backgrounds and give their all for the sake of the Foreign League. Wonderful documentaries and books on the subject, plus i watched TV documentaries. They do look after their retirees if needed. Life's definitely front line for these anonymous males (they don't have a womens, i checked years ago, lol). But you're so good to your folk, Chris. What do they think of your desire to stand up for humanity? I think they might struggle without you, but hey, humans get by actually. We all muddle along the best we can. Bothers me you're a little intent, but if you google "how do i join the Ukrainian foreign league. There is also a website (under the same google search) "how to join the international league of defense of Ukraine. Seems lots are googling the info. Remember, you're one of us, you have some health issues and we all care. You are like our family and you're a moderator and staff member here on Crohns forum. We'd miss you. Maybe i'll see you there, lol. Weather is turning cold and i put my heating on today. As much to dry the washing as feeling cold and poorly.

Buff, hope all goes well, each surgery can leave scaring which can be painful. Ron, has it stopped raining, you've been on the news lately with all that flooding.

No Di. We are trying to clean up the mess but yesterday a huge storm front swept thru the flooded area with heavy rain ,hail up to 9cm and strong winds. It compromised the clean up. sydney and the central and north coast are expecting up to 120 mm of rain today. Lismore and Ballina are both train wrecks. There are discussions ongoing as to whether Lismore should be totally relocated to a higher area so that it can never happen again. The only word I have heard from my real estate is that they are coming on the 16th to do an inspection. A'holes. that will be an interesting meeting. Ron.

-12C Clear. I finished shoveling yesterday, and today I got a full blown head cold and runny nose. I must have picked it up at the clinic or in the stores. Fuel prices have surged, and nobody was out snowmobiling, it was a very quiet weekend and the only interaction with people I had was here on this forum. I'll try skiing off the cold symptoms this afternoon.

Well, last night was spent awake again. this time more of a spiritual awakening. I'm sick of my health and healthcare team. I just need the negativity of them and their medical neglect gone from my mind so i can find peace and relax off into more of the meditational person i used to be. Really feeling better in the head today. Far less pain, less swelling around the head and face and generally feeling a little more relaxed. I've not done a thing with furthering my progress medically, but i have written out my horror story of not getting my brain scanned for 3 years whilst under oncology care. Tomorrow i will do the final draft, check out medical negligence lawyers, set my complaints to each medical persons governing body, and i'll probably in the near future write that journalistic piece. I am now intent on saving other peoples lives from suffering at the hands of such medical abject failures and hopefully make sure the NHS get the mental help they need to get on and do a genuine job of healthcare, not just take tax payer money to their pensions and dying day. Enough of that crap, i'm going to save other lives. I'm going to meditate in the way that i used to and heal myself. I can't trust the NHS to treat me, they'll want to stick an extra needle in me to prevent me revealing our North Korean healthcare system. Thank God i'm feeling better. The sun was out too, but cold. The heating went on (for my houseplants, honest)

Chris, where are you? I think it will turn into a MONSTROUS WAR! Stay safe.

Southern Sydney is being hit by the rain now with flooding and evacuations. Another low has formed on the south coast and three figure rainfall is expected for the rest of today and tomorrow. Severe storms forecast for SE Qld..Ron. 13th victim found in Qld floodwaters.

Chris, One question you will have to ask yourself is; Who will care for your parents and will they always get the same level of care and security for the years to come as you have been providing for them after you leave the country, and in case you do not return from this ugly conflict? Really, really think about this.
My brother better do his damn part. He hasn't done shite for this family for 12 years. I'm very conflicted about my parents situation, but I NEVER want my son to have to fight this fight. The faster and harder we crush this the better! I'm 44 and single, I guess that's why I'm volunteering. I do have some assets to leave behind to help. Somebody has to step up, and I'm that kind of guy. I hope I come back... Why wouldn't I want that? LOVE TO ALL ...SLAVA UKRAINI!

Hi Diane I'm here,
I've been struggling with some rather difficult decisions lately. I must be a dufus! I'll Google it now. Thanks Diane. I'm glad you're seeing some nature and having some small pleasures.

I need to get my passport sorted out and I need plates for my tactical vest, as well as side armor and a proper ballistic helmet. I have a bit of time before going anywhere. This is likely to be a NATO conflict soon and I will never pass the NATO medical with crohn's. I'm trying to get there before it's too late to stop the madness. Yes I know I might die, I might die anyway. I'm doing my best to join the good fight!

Hang in there

Hope you're feeling better today.

Coldish,bright and breezy........but who cares ?
I saw on the TV news that a lot of volunteer British ex army and civilians are heading out to join the war.......BUT I might be mistaken I'm sure I heard mention that those not conscripted (?) could be arrested on their return (if spared) for some law or another.I didn't quite catch what it was,
A wonderful guy from our area has driven 1500 miles in 3 days to the Polish border. in a motor home with trailer carrying a ton of donations and medical supplies.I just felt I needed to mention him,but I know this is happening all over the world.

I don't know if this is a viral infection or covid but its been a rough spell. Never in my life have I had such a runny itchy nose, the worst was yesterday, and its still itchy and runny today. Last night I found it hard to breath at times with yellow mucus coming down from my nose, and the chills too. After getting up to use the bathroom I would huddle in the bed to get warm again. Weak and tired today, with lots of congestion. Its been years since I've felt sick like this.

I am sorry to hear that you are unwell Buff, in the current situation my immediate reaction would be to suspect covid rather than a cold. I would be getting a rapid antigen test at the very least and if it turns out to be covid ask your doctor for some covid anti-virals. They really reduce the risks of severe illness. Take care mate. I pass that wish on to all of you please take care, with everything going on it s all to easy to put our health on the back burner. Special hug to Di. I have been working day and night on my flat the entire interior east wall is turning black. More storms and rain today. Ron.

-10C Flurries. Feeling much better today, everything coming down from my nose and clearing my throat. Yesterday the itchy nose ended, but my lungs felt dry and it was hard to breath. I spent much of the day in bed and burned more wood to make the house warm. In the evening the fever broke and breathing became easier. It may have been covid, but being so isolated by the long distances there was no way to get an antigen test. I am going to ask for one on my next supply run.

-16c here. I'm not going anywhere near Ukraine. I've made up my mind for various reasons that are obvious, however I'm convinced I would be as much use here on this side of the world as the other. Ukraine has said that of a 42 million population only around 2-3 million have left the country and there is no shortage of manpower apparently. They have also reported that they don't want soldiers without combat experience. That rules me out on both. Not a soldier/no combat experience and apparently they have enough help otherwise. That settles it! I will still try my best to support the cause domestically. Buff, you take good care. I hope things improve very soon.

I wasn't using the bleach to kill the mold, I was sort of hoping it would kill me and I would no have to worry about the mold, I do however change the filters on my cpap every couple of weeks and that seems to protect me when sleeping. Thanks for the thoughts Ron.

-24C Clear. I'm definitely on the mend, and with the bright sunshine and good skiing conditions I may take a ski this afternoon, there are not many good days left before the long messy meltdown begins. With the state of things in the world I am considering ordering a large supply of medical supplies in case there are supply disruptions. Putin is a loose canon and anything could happen at this point. Good decision Chris, there's a difference between a firefighter and a combat fighter and your family needs you especially in these unpredictable difficult times going forward.

It is still raining nearly every day. The weather has cooled a little with a southerly front. It is still 27c but that is better than 33c. Petrol has risen from $1.48 a litre to $2.50+ a litre. My mold is getting worse . I found a good biological disinfectant spray that controls mold long term. You spray id on then wipe the area down with a damp cloth. Stay safe all .Ron.

-25C This might have been our last cold night, the weather is expected to start warming up next week. I need one more supply run to bring in heavy goods in case the snow pack melts too quickly making the trail up to the house impassible. I've had a little bit of a setback as I was feeling better, but now the coughing and tiredness lingers on. For now I am self isolating. This must have been covid, for it was no joke, without the vaccine it would been far worse.

It's -3c here and partial cloud. I was wondering if you should have gone for a ski, Buff, as I've had lingering bouts like that from overextending myself while seemingly feeling fairly good to go. It's been happening to a lot of people I'm talking to while out and about. My folks are getting very tired and achy as well a couple days a week still. I'm getting random chills/sweats and coughing fits too... so ya, cool man. :( This is one weird virus... For sure. Keep well all!
