Coat off today 26c and sunny but a cold change coming thru on Sat. I prefer the cold except for the neuropathy in my feet and legs. The cold really ramps it up and it does not appear to help my sweats as I am having more each day, the hormone shots have not helped yet.Ron.
 
Another rainy day here in kansas. Only thing I like about rainy days is when it clears I can watch the deer out in my field play. on sunny days the eat then go back in the woods. yesterday there were 3 does and 5 yearlings running around.
 
Wow, Mustang, I think I envy the wildlife about you. Sunny start here, but its forecast that May has been unusually cold. Looking forward to some proper summer heat.
 
12c up to now,scudding clouds and sunny spells.

I REALLY envy you Mustang,how great to be able to watch Deer from your window instead of traffic and neighbours going about their business.
 
It was 12c on my drive to work at 7:00 am this morning and is supposed to be 22c today - Sunny and beautiful for the next week or so (sorry for those of you with rain and cold).
 
Its nice not having neighbors and watching the animals. I sometimes miss the things city life had to offer but being able to step outside and not have a neighbor is nice. another windy rainy 49 degrees here.
 
It was 28 yesterday and down to 21c today with strong winds and some showers. I am getting mighty tired from travelling too and from my ex 's house every day. The dog is no trouble she is too old to be naughty. The cat on the other had is a complete A hole. She thinks she is so cute but she is not. I would love to set up a hidden camera. I am sure that hidden somewhere in that fur is a pair of hands . It is the only explanation for how far she can scatter the kitty litter. I have vacuumed more in the past six weeks that previously in my entire life. Ron.
 
It rained today, will rain tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. I think they moved the desert state of Utah to the northwest (US) when we weren't looking.
 
sun has finally come out. Shame I can't go out as my eyes still hurt with Iritis and the Crohns has me tied to the loo. But I have a garden. Shall sit there,
 
Still sitting at 22-23 c mostly sunny days and any showers have been overnight. Speaking of wildlife, google Dave the kangaroo. He turned up on the news last week in a north Brisbane suburb. He is close to 2 metres tall and built like a brick toilet. To add to his appearance somewhere in his early days something shredded his left ear. He looks like a cross between Rocky Balboa and the terminator. A lady walking her dogs met him in a laneway. She took some shots on the phone and quickly retreated.. Good move! Ron.
 
He was in our daily newspaper yesterday,but I will Google him later.
Australia throws a lot of challenges to the population in one way or another eh ?

Mild 14c here,dry,scudding clouds......But so lush and green it hurts your eyes (in a good way)

Yep, the weather has returned to its Britishness and clouded over, windy with rain, so the Raynauds is back and my fingers are completely numb. I have to watch them hit the keys as I can't feel them, lol.
 
We've had rain more often than not in the past six weeks, but expect a change by this weekend, it should turn hot (in the nineties, yuck!) and dry for a while, if the weather forecasting is correct.
 
the weather was perfect today. got out side and took a small walk and then watched my kid play football and chase the dogs. Hopefully the rain will stay away im going crazy sitting inside the last week
 
The first of june marks the start of winter here . Maximum temps forecast for the next three days is 27 c. Winter is hell! Ron.
 
I hate winter we had -10 + days of 40 mph winds = -30 real feel. working outside I hate winter. june and july we will see up to 105 with 100% humidity. I love summer but eaely fall with 75-80 is so much more comfortable
 
desperately wanting rain as people are coming to look at my house as I need to move nearer hospitals. The kids are a tad noisey.

Pray for rain please. Do a raindance or something, thanks.
 
Every day they forecast mostly sunny with a chance of a shower. Every day is sunny and there are no showers. I can only assume that their forecast is total bs and really means WE DON"T KNOW ! With El Nino of course it will be sunny and no rain. Ron.

the rain didn't occur yesterday but they still like my place. Whooopeee, I think I might finally be living much closer to hospitals. Wow, I've been trying for that for a long while. just hope it all goes through

glad you're unaffected by the flooding. I've seen on the news about texas and other areas. They are well flooded and expecting more rain. I feel for them but fortunately I don't get to experience such disasters to the home or environment, I'm on top of the cliffs in north Cornwall England.

98 degrees at 7:53pm. Summer is here in Arizona. Too hot to run errands and go to doctors appointments sometimes. I almost got "heatstroke" on Thursday afternoon. I have been home for 2 days, fatigued and sad.
 
I saw on the news that you had temps above 100° lately, Ann. :)ack:) Stay cool and safe indoors in the AC, but do something fun for yourself, like if you like reading, read, or listen to good music that lifts you up. Cool hugs to you.
Here, it is a pleasant sunny Sunday. 78° at about 12:30 in the afternoon.
 
Well winter has arrived???? It was 27c yesterday. Cloudy today but only 16c overnight . I hate to think what next summer will bring. Most of Qld is in drought except for the SE and it will only take a no rain winter for us to catch up. Ron.
 
I feel sorry for the Indian people with their current heatwave. The death toll is awful just because the poor cannot afford not to work despite the killing heat. I will try not to complain about the heat anymore. At least I can go down to the local mall and sit in the air con. Ron.
 
We had our coldest day so far this year , max 23 min 8c. I know we get lots of storms and droughts and fires but in amongst all of that it is not so bad. .... Although,,, they are still searching up north of Cairns for a guy they think got eaten by a croc. I guess you just have to keep your guard up and stay clear of the wildlife.. Ron.
 
Okay, it is almost 11pm at night and it is still 83 degrees outside ! It is supposed to be 103 degrees in a couple of days. I stand in the shade outside and talk to my neighbors and I get all red in the face and start sweating. Thank goodness I have a covered parking space at my apartment complex, that really helps my vehicle from getting very hot on the inside during the summertime. I think I got heat stroke not too long ago, so now I keep Gatorade in my fridge at home at all times. And I know that I cannot run too many errands during one day. Getting in and out of a very hot vehicle is the part that makes me heat up. Summer is officially here in Arizona. Ahhhhhhhhh !:ywow:

Isn't it funny how our first response is to take a photo of an animal before we really understand that it is a wild animal and it is way bigger than us. I think I would be quickly retreating instead of taking the photo :eek: Any wombats wandering around there ?

I want to know what is going on in the world, but I suffer from anxiety so I have to limit the amount of news that I watch on TV or read about. It really gets overwhelming for me. I don't even watch crime shows anymore. But I still feel for the victims of these recent tragedies. One thing we cannot control is "mother nature". :(

My sister and brother-in-law are planning a cross-country trip in July that will take them from Idaho to Wisconsin and back. They will be gone a month visiting relatives and site-seeing along the way. The weather is surely going to be hot along the way and then humid when they enter the Midwest. I hope the weather is good for them and no rainstorms or tornados along the way. :)

Fishing sounds so relaxing. The other day I was thinking how calming and peaceful it would be in the middle of the Coastal Redwood Forest over in California. I visited there once and it was a magical place. :)
 
Sunny this morning, and hopefully nice for the rest of the week. I have to travel up country today or early tomorrow to view a new place. I am going to be near better hospitals if it's the last thing I do. Last night was disastrous on and off loo so I hope I can stay awake to travel.

Must say though, this weather is lovely. Really I should live somewhere hot as I have no Raynauds syndrome issues.
 
Hi Ann. Qld is the home of the northern hairy nosed wombat... No seriously it is true. They are mostly nocturnal and spend most of the day in burrows and are rarely seen.I spent ten years in Canberra in The Australian Capital territory. We have seven states and two territories in Australia. The ACT is in the Australian Alps in southern New South wales. There are heaps of common wombats in new south wales , Victoria and the rest of the southern states. They are not dangerous though the old ones can get a bit cranky if you disturb them. the biggest danger they pose is to road users. They commonly travel at night and often cross roads. They are built like little furry tanks and tho they can cause a lot of damage to cars they are most dangerous to motor bike riders who invariably come off second best in collisions with wombats. In outback Australia it is very uncommon to see vehicles with out Roo bars a front end cage of welded pipes to minimise damage from animals. It is sad that so many animals are killed on roads but as the roads cool at night condensation runs into the roadside drains and they hold some of the best vegetation and attract grazers. Ron.
 
Thought for the day.......Isn't it funny how we spend the winters trying to get the house heated to the same temperatures we complained about in the summer ???

We eat them. I also do some hunting too. its nice to just get away and relax. I leave my deer stand out all year and somedays I go sit in it for a few hours watching nature.

I have fished most of my life and yes I love to eat fresh fish. Like most keen hunters and fishers I am also a strong conservationist. I only ever take what I consider adequate for my immediate needs and let the rest go. I make sure I am aware of scarce and endangered species and choose to never target them. I have noticed that most fishermen and women in Australia are turning to the same point of view and the return of threatened species is improving every year as well as the efforts to remove feral species from our waterways. I also recognise peoples rights to catch and eat fish and if I feel that the laws on that species are particularly unfair to that species I will try to have the law changed. I have been able to help in that respect as the one of the state presidents of a National sportfishing association. Our motto is to fish for tomorrow today. Tight lines, Ron.
 
I only take what is needed for food. here I am allowed 5 deer each year as we are heavily populated. I only do 3 which is just enough to last until next season. I also only take mature deer 4+ yrs old. Same with fish we only keep big fish and release the smaller ones. then we get together and eat as a whole family. one thing I like about kansas is its plentiful of animals and it makes our grocery bill cheap.
 
Red River has crested. Road closures and traffic just crazy. Took me 2 hours to get home which normally takes me 30 min 😭

I saw a TV show several years ago about the wombats in Tasmania ( animal sanctuary). Of course, the ones on the TV show were cute, little ones ! But I just looked up some photos on the Internet and noticed how large they can really get ! :) :)

Look up the "anti-wolf" campaign in America ( late 1900's). It is a sad thing to read about. It shows how quickly man can almost totally eliminate an entire species.

I saw on TV one day that people eat Muskrat ! It did not seem too appealing to me to eat them ( they did not look edible aflyer bwing cooked. I cannot remember where the Muskrat live. Have you ever eaten them ? I know this is a weather thread, but just wondering.

No I dont. some do as with coons, opossum, etc I stick to normaly eaten animals exotic or unusual isnt for me. today was 95 degrees with no breeze. Didnt go outside all day. hope tomorrow we get a nice breeze to cool things down.
 
Okay, this is not a misprint..........it is 95 degrees at 12:49am Tuesday June 9th in Glendale, Arizona. The high temperature on Monday was 105 degrees. I stayed home all day today and "hibernated". Had my air conditioner on all day long and the window and mini-blinds shut. I live in an apartment. I took my garbage out to the trash bin at 9:30pm Monday night because I thought it would be cooler at night to take my trash out.....I was wrong, it was 97 degrees. Wow !
 
It is funny , when I lived in the ACT we would get northerly winds in summer. It was like living in an oven all day and night. I worked in the dept of defence in computers and did rolling shift work. At least the computer rooms were temp and humidity controlled. When you went outside , depending on the season you either cooked or froze , now back in the tropics in qld I am near the coast and with the heat we get humidity. There is nothing worse for me than trying to get to sleep wit 36c temps and high humidity. I guess it is the same down in Florida, Ron.
 
16c,light breeze.No complaints (unless the temp.rises more than another 2c.then watch this space,I don't do well in warm weather,)

Cannot believe how bad the Raynauds is getting, so still have thermals on and now wearing gloves even indoors. Will look forward to that really good weather.

I was about to say something similar. High of 83 today, LOW of 61. (Temps can vary greatly in the same day in desert areas.) It is pleasant enough right now, but any warmer, and everyone should stay away from my space.
 
23c to 14c here . I spend all night either gaining or removing blankets. we are getting quite a few showers and it gets quite warm . Then it clears up and gets cool. difficult weather... Ron.
 
21-16c today and light rain, a dreary winters day. It is the yearly show weekend (fair) It always rains on this weekend, every year. They must have done something to upset the gods. Ron.

It's going to drop to 14c tomorrow,with rain,and lots of it down Spookys end of the country.Lots of music festivals around the country,the young generation will love it.There will be a million abandoned tents and empty bottles and cans.

I grew up in Minnesota. Much humidity all summer long, along with mosquitos. We did not have air conditioning in our house 50 years ago, so lots of fans blowing the hot and humid air around the house. Minnesota is called the land of 10,000 lakes, with water comes humidity. The folks in Minnesota are survivors, they have to defend themselves against the rains, tornados and severe snow and ice. Have a nice weekend everyone. :) :)
 
102 degrees at 3:14pm. Staying home today. Hey, do any of you take medications that make it difficult to be in the sun? I cannot be in direct sunlight at all, it feels like a blow torch is burning my skin.....I live in sunny Arizona and am going to have to buy an umbrella to use while outside. Take Care.
 
It's getting warmer here to, darn it all, but not that hot. I have that same problem Ann, when we go to UofU football games in the fall, there are always a few early season games where that is exactly what it feels like (the blow torch), and that is the fall. Stay safe. Good idea for the umbrella.
 
Hi Ann,
It is hard with the sun. I had chemo therapy for a year and since have been on methotrexate and cyclosporine. All of them make you sun sensitive. I use the highest sun factor sunscreen I can find. When I fish I wear a wide brimmed hat , long sleeves , polarised sunnies, long trousers and a neck buff. I have only had one sun cancer cut out but it turned out to be a micro nodular basal cell. They dive deep and travel via the nerves. Scary stuff , glad I caught it early. All you can do is to try to avoid direct and reflected un, Hugs ron.
