Lol, the clouds are breaking up now here and we should have sunshine the next few days, tho it will be cool and crisp. My favorite time of year. 😊😊😊

Us to Tuff. We had a slow moving cold front come thru yesterday evening and night. It was thundering from early evening till past midnight. Fortunately it wasn't an intense front and a cloudy day had kept temps down so we missed out on any wild winds and bad lightning. It just sounded like my stomach on a bad day. Rumbling and grumbling. Ron.
 
Just back from a 3-4ml walk along the coast.Sunny with a nice breeze.I had to take my jacket off and carry it.But it's always best to be prepared at this time of year.

That's about all we got too, rumbling and grumbling and some rain. Weather here is really hard to predict because of the lake. The storm front might miss us altogether.
 
Yes Bear Roos were designed for Australia. Learned to hop, less time on the ground and less burned feet. Most of us used to run around barefooted as kids. We developed very hard feet and a very good sprinting technique when crossing hot beaches and even hotter bitumen car parks. :) Ron.

Sounds as if you have hardy hobbits' feet! Although I do not go barefoot in the snow, I do have good traction.

Crohns naff and arthritis is acting up badly. Can't turn over in bed and getting out of a morning is a bit of a joke. Will have long apt with dr soon and get myself some specialists. Don't know if the arthritis is due to different location or what, but I do like it here in my new place (no stairs, which is just as well at the moment). Different sort of clouds and weather too. I hear it gets quite cold in the east midlands. Shall find that out soon, lol. Autumn equinox tomorrow and doesn't the night pull in now, omg, headlong into colder weather.
 
We are having some proper spring weather for a while ,temp range back down to 14c to 24c and some heavy showers overnight. I'm sorry your crohns and arthritis are playing up Spooky I am sure it is change of seasons. I have been bad over the past weeks. I have been planning a fishing trip but I am not sure if I can handle putting up a camp on my own nor putting the boat in and out each day. I was going to ask an old cane farmer mate in the area if he wanted to join me but he rang me Sunday morning and told me he has been dxed with malignant melanoma. I am 65 and I find that happening a lot. I think I am bad but mates younger than me are falling off the perch as well. Hope you get well quickly ,Ron.
 
13c and raining.I know what you mean Ron.I try not to whine too much,but it's good to share sometimes hahaha.A very close friend of ours (40yrs+) is having chemo for stomach cancer.He's in denial and acting his usual naughty,cheeky self,so I am very careful not to talk about my own probs. I'm sorry you can't have a fishing trip just now,maybe later before it gets too hot eh? I hope all goes well for your friend.

Thanks for the support Ron, and appreciate the Spring weather whilst you can. You have an el-nino summer on the way, me thinks.
 
Sounds good, Sandy. I'm pleased for you but I would so love the clime of completely blue sky and slightly on the hotter side, but not Ron50 hot. Rained all day until we had a gorgeous sunset.
 
Now that you mention it , we were 24c yesterday but expecting 29 today. I wasn't happy yesterday. I only work four days a week , it's about more than I can handle anyway. I finished last Thursday with around six machines in the repair bay . I arrived yesterday to find around twenty and another six came in during the day.Even less chance of getting away fishing....not happy. I see my doc today. He put me on a fourth BP med four weeks ago. I had a reading of 172/119 last week. Sometimes you feel like taking a complete holiday from all the meds just to see what happens. Probably not a great idea.. Ron.
 
I too feel like taking a vacation from my meds, I don't trust what the combination is doing to me at all, but don't know of one I dare go off at the moment (let alone all). But at least it was another blue sky today, a little too warm for my taste, but fairly pleasant.
 
We had a chilly wind for a couple of days now in fact it has been gusting up to 80kph and coming up from the Antarctic. One forecaster said we were not into spring yet and that we should call it sprinter. Stupid forecaster! Still too busy. One guy drove 300 kilometres on Thursday to get me to fix his industrial sewing machine. The trouble is they are so far from help that everyone has a play with it before it gets to me. Would take ten minutes to fix the original problem and eight hours to repair the play time problems. Can't see a fishing trip happening this side of Christmas. I was talking to a guy who used to pro fish the area I am going too and he believes the string Of earthquakes that have been occurring off Frazer Island, another aftershock last week , have disrupted the fishing in the area. It appears it may not just be people that run for cover. Heating up for the weekend and the winds are turning from the south to south east which means more showers. I guess i'll just sit at home and watch fishing videos, Ron.
 
Your posts are always interesting Ron,and I do like to hear you "Whinge" I thought it was just us Poms who did that hahaha.

No, nothing exciting here, but I do like cloud watching, they're so different from wild and windy Cornwall. Think the fish in the ponds are hibernating already. Either that or I have over fed the poor things.

Not too chilly at all so far, but I can feel it coming with these darker evenings.

Our pond temp.is dropping but the fish are still quite active.It's difficult to know when to cut their food ration down.

You might give yourself problems D. we put ours out after they out grew 2 indoor tanks.We waited until April when the pond water was 10 degrees and they've survived 2 winters.They tend to lie on the bottom a lot in very cold weather and we don't feed.We melt any ice for breathing holes by holding a pan of boiling water on the surface.You can google to see what's right for you.

It's just too hot here again. Might break a heat record (the highs in the nineties). Where, oh where is fall?

I bring my fish in, usually in an esky, delicious. Yes Carol I am a champion whinger but don't forget most Of us Aussies were imported in chains from England :).It was quite hot yesterday. One of those days that if you were in the wind you needed a coat but once you sat in the car you nearly cooked. Hints of things to come. Ron.
 
Friday was dry n sunny, quite warm. Hope today is dry n sunny as I'm going on a trip to Liverpool, where iv never been even tho it's only an hour or so way.

Tis sunny again today, but still the morning chill is loitering about. A couple of my fish are of around 5 inches long and there are 3 others, so would need quite a tank. I shall hunt about for a tank I think, see what it would cost to bring them in. I only have a wet room so they can't be housed in the bath.

I've never eaten a goldfish, Ron. I do eat a lot of fish otherwise. Hope it doesn't get too hot for you. But I think you're in for a blazing summer, hopefully not of the bush fire type.

Looks good for Liverpool, Mandy. Hope you enjoy your trip.

It might be too much info., but when we were in Aus. I often sat with my bare feet in the esky and a carrier bag of ice cubes on my head.Not a pretty sight but life preserving....:cool::thumleft:

Too hot again today, another good day for a ride up to the mountains where it is cooler. Last time we did that we saw three moose in the canyon. :ysmile:
 
HMMM carol perhaps your poor hubby was pushed to it. I can imagine the scenario. A woman with her feet in an esky and ice draped over her head. Someone asking your husband is that your wife? NO ,never seen her before in my life. A cold soggy wife , nothing to whinge about there. It used to be so funny when I was a kid. You would be at the beach. It would be a million degrees c and you would see a family turn up at the car park. Before you knew it the poor bloke would be piggy backing all of his kids and his wife down to the waters edge . Then he would have to go back and set up the beach umbrella. By that time he would have third degree burns to both feet and heatstroke. Probably why my parents never went to the beach, they went to the pub instead. Christmas fun in Australia. :):) .
 
Hi all, well weather was lovely, suuny n warm for my trip to liverpool, looks like it will be the same today, may even get in the garden later n possibly do a bit of tidying out there in prep for the winter.

here it's saying 13 degrees but feels warmer tho, looks set to be sunny most of the coming week , so thats good. i like the sun out it cheers me up some i must say. well i musn't say as such but im saying any way lol :)
 
Brisbane copped a big storm yesterday afternoon. Flash flooding and small hail feet deep in some places. We got the remains of it a couple of hours later. It had lost most of its venom but still dumped some rain (not enough) on us. 80% of Queensland is now drought declared. Most of the cattle and sheep properties have sold off all of their stock. The few that have tried to retain their stock have taken to what they refer to as the long paddock , the droving routes along the highways. The hot bitumen cools over night and you always get a lot of dew forming and running into the spoon drains beside the roads where it keeps grass and herbage alive. Some owners drove their animals thousands of kilometres just to keep them fed. My ex wife used to go droving when she was a kid . She said that you got into real trouble if you let the animals get over a slow walk as they lost any condition they put on. Quite unreal to see drovers on horseback moving their herds in the 21st century. Ron.
 
Carol is right, Ron, your posts are never dull. I really feel for the poor animals there dealing with those conditions, and all of you dealing with such drought conditions. Being from the west in the US and around some rural areas at times, I've seen a couple small cattle drives myself, but it does seem strange in this day and age.
And Mandy, speak away. I like hearing what you have to say, you're always so cheerful as your post above shows.
Here, it's just about time to go outside and watch the lunar eclipse and full moon at the same time. Will be fun to see.
 
Another fine sunny day,looks like it will last for at least a week.Cooler nights,which is a blessing.

I see a sink hole opened up at a campsite in Queensland,over the w/end,and swallowed up a few tents,a car and a campervan.No casualties luckily.
 
As luck would have it that was where I was going fishing tho I was planning to stay half a klik further south at Carlo point van park. The sinkhole or as they are now calling it an inshore landslide. Call it what you like it scared the crap out of a bunch of campers. It has always has been a dodgy camp site . I have seen it completely inundated with salt water on the spring king tides. It is a mad rush to keep your car out of the water. The area that sinks is right on the edge of the wide bay bar. On the big tides you have huge areas of water filling and draining thru a reasonably narrow entrance. Any wonder areas get undercut. All that aside it is a pretty place and the fishing is good. Ron.
 
There is something about soaking up the sun that just warms the soul as well, eh Mandy? A little too warm again here, but it looks like things will be cooling off and getting back to fall temperatures. Hooray!
(And I saw pics of that "sinkhole" as it was called here. Wow!)
 
been absolutely lovely today. Will appreciate it whilst it lasts as the mornings and evenings are chilly now. Just ordered fleecy sheets for my bed.

Well tis lovely and sunny again today. I'm loving sunshine, should be warm too. Bikini on (or perhaps not at this age).

Up on the sunshine coast Anj. Again we did not cop it as bad as Brisbane , I think the heat and rising hot air over Brisbane turns some ordinary storms into super cells. We did not get any really strong winds or large hail this time but the storm would not go away , it sat over us with non stop thunder , lightning and at times heavy rain from 4.30 pm till around 7.00pm. Now it is quite warm. they are talking one final storm for the week tomorrow then a run of fine but warm days thru the weekend. We have had northerly winds for the past few days , I hate them, seems to make people cranky. (Me included.) Ron.

Gorgeous day here too, but I'm a bit cranky myself. I think I need to go outside and absorb some of those sun rays. Even the thought of it is making me feel a little better.

so nice to know your family are doing well. So often the rest of the family suffer in different ways to the one with colitis. No idea what the take steps event is, I'm here in Britain. You'll have to explain.

This is a wonderful forum though. You'll learn a lot, get amazing understanding and support from all of us Crohnies and Colitis folk. I believe there's a good parents thread. If you get what I mean. The thread is good for parents. I'm sure you're a good parent, lol. Enjoy the event.

Another storm tonight. Now the weather forecast is for another tomorrow night and they are saying to expect more and more severe storms as the season gets here. It isn't really storm season yet. They believe that the El Nino pattern will effect the frequency and severity of the storm season this November. We did not get any hail tonight but they did just to the west of us. And yes Carol I have been cranky I even burred up at two little old ladies today. They came into the shop I work at and started a tirade about the machine they had bought and what a HOS it was . It was a four thread overlock and I rather forcefully showed them if they threaded it in the right order there was no problem , I even more force fully suggested that if they read the manual they would have known that. I don't think they understood how close I was to exploding. The boss did . She said I had gone bright red and was shaking. She made me a cuppa and calmed me down. I guess it comes from working for 53 years with similar little old ladies. Fortunately not many men sew or I would be in jail. And yes the wind is still out of the north. By the way the four wheel drive that fell into that sinkhole is so far under the sand now that they don't think they will be able to retrieve it. I don't think the insurance company will be able to do an inspection any time soon. Ron. PS The real estate people that are responsible for the unit I rent told me that they will be doing repairs soon. Apparently that earthquake a while back did some structural damage to the walls of one of the other units and they think it may be responsible for cracks in my floor tiles. I'm not game to tell them that my front door now swings shut on its own, it never used to. I may be looking for a new home soon. Ron.
 
20c today.We drove into the country to the last outdoor car-boot fair of the summer (probably).Being in a dip it was very misty when we arrived,then out came the sun,and we were all complaining of the heat.Also,the sun is getting lower in the sky now and it made it difficult to see the "bargains".Hubs bought a bike rack for the back of the car so it looks like I "might" be going cycling after all.Or a better idea would be for me to sit in the car with a good book.

Ron,here's an oldie for you........My hubby got arrested today......He went to the D.I.Y. store and the young,spotty saleman asked if he wanted decking,so hubs got the first punch in.
 
20°c sounds about perfect if it would stay that way. Unfortunately, although that's about what it is at present here too, it should get up to about 29°c (or 84°f) here today.
 
Ron, what's to keep you in Australia? England's fine compared to what you lot have to suffer. Wonder if they do a £10 ticket here. Or just pretend you're a refugee. It pays better than most jobs to be a refugee and your circumstance is terrible. Mind, we also have old ladies!
 
Hi looked like rain early doors this morning but it never came, sunny later but not quite as warm as the last few days..
 
Storm arrived again tonight but it skidded thru to the north of us. The wind has swung around to the south east and my temper has improved. It is forecast to get into the high 20,s c or even low 30c over the next few days. It is supposed to be a public holiday on Monday but I will work and try to catch up a bit. The boss said not to worry but it's me that has to do the work ,not her. So I will have a quiet Monday on my own . I always get more done that way. I still might get to go fishing in late October. That would be nice,. Ron.
 
28c today. I didn't see much of the day. I spent the first half on the loo and the other in bed. I only work four days a week, that is all I can handle. I wish just once in a while I could get to do something with the three days other than try to get over the previous four . I am sorry if that counts as whinging Carol and everyone else. I know full well many of you have problems far worse than mine. Ron.
 
Although it's been a lovely day, I was bl**dy ill this morning,so I've just sat here staring into space this arvo.It doesn't half take it out of me,so I know what you mean Ron.
What a wasted day,but there have been many in the past and there will be many more to come.
 
My weather very similar to Carol's really, hope all are well, or as well as can be , wish we were all rip roaring well, as we deserve to be,coz we are MEGA !!!!
 
It is funny I take my BP every morning (at the request of my nephrologist) yesterday was 170/110 and today I was 152/100. Two days ago I was 120/82. perhaps I should just live by my BP machine . A flow chart for living if>150 go back to bed if <130 go wild and have a good day. Today I will just sit in a chair and behave and hope that tomorrow is a good day. Temps are sitting at a regular 28c and no more storms predicted for a few days. Ron.

yesterday was pretty misty 1st thing, but the sun put his hat on and came out mid morning :ysmile:
today so far it's dark !! :biggrin: 5am here at the mo, so i'll see what it's like abit later ..
 
9c and grey,but dry and still.......A recent study has shown we spend 5mnths of our lives talking about the weather, eg; in person or on-line etc.

I got the same weather as you today, Scottsma. Had heating on cos of Reynauds and my BP is on the high side, well, at least the diastolic (if that's what they call it) is behaving badly. I'd really love the experience of Ron's weather though. Probably couldn't stand it for long, but the thought of it, wow. Warmth suits me.

Hope you're feeling better, Carol. I know the staring into space bit very well indeed.
