My win. Home with the flu. Went to the doctor and she gave me 2 days off. Said to make sure I rest and if it is not better by thursday to come back and then they will se if something needs to be done. So my plan is definately to rest and drink lots of hot blackcurrant juise. I am not the type of person to risk my health over a flu so definately not going to work till I feel better.

Stealing your fluzy win Sanni! How are ya feeling now?

I am still at my sisters dogsitting and I just cleaned a lot downstairs. It's a huge house, so good to get a lot done before I leave Thurs, I still have the whole upstairs to do, but that only takes abour 2and a half to 3 hours.I am making perogi pizza later to take to my son's for his birthday dinner. That was what he requested. He hasn't had it in ten yrs. and neither have I!

Getting worce I think Some slight fever and now the sore throat is turning into a runny nose. But I can still win. ;)

What is perogi pizza?

What is perogi pizza?

Pizza made with a blend on top of mashed potatoes that you make with caramelized onions, butter, cheddar cheese, garlic, salt and pepper, cream and milk. You whip them all together and top the pizza and then add more cheddar cheese. Bake for about 13-15 minutes until top melts and starts to brown.I buy premade already partially baked pizza crusts. I put potaoes on about half and inch thick. Then the cheese.

Carol here's the recipe!!!

If you need to know how to make basic mashed potatoes, let me know.

You all are crazy today again. Mahed potatoes and queues. :D :D btw I do have a friends that sais her cooking is so bad she does not even know how to boil potatoes.. and to be honest its probably true. .I have never eaten anything made by her.

But I am making chicken soup today. And am feeling better even with out it. Sa HA I win!

Glad you're feeling better Sanni. We were worried. You have to take extra special care of yourself when other illness's intrude into your already chronic one.

I know Carol. Thats why I had no hesitation to go to the doctors to get sick leave. And when I said I use Humira she took me very seriously too. Was a good doctor I think (I am very critical abot doctors). Most GPs here would not have know what Humira is. Atleast I did not have to explain it.

So I still have tomorrow off even I am definately on the mend so it really is just a flu or even a cold and not something thats gonna last me 2 weeks.

We used to have so much fun in High school with my friends here. Me asan American with a NW way of tallking, my best friend spent a year in South of USA and then one more friend a year in England. The 3 of us alwasy had so much fun comparing English and American. ;) Nowdays I seem to be fluent in both.. even to the extent to not know which is what.

I did too Sanni but being bad back then! Skipping classes, smoking in the girl's room, flirting with the boys. I hated school except for that part! That's why I clean houses instead of being what I should be~ Head of a company!

We did our share of skipping class. Usually would hang out at the local McD. lol But we stayd off the smokes. We did do our share of partying and alcohol, but then drinking age is 18 here so it was all leagal.. well... mostly. But we definately were not one of the worst behaved. Desently good girls really.:rosette1:

Me too,Sanni.I was always well behaved,I worried too much about the consequences.I did "skip" school (we called it Playing The Wag) a few times, but it was soooo boring and I worried all the time about being caught.I once spent a whole day in my friends wardrobe (closet) sitting on a suitecase, but it's far too long a story to relate on here.I did start smoking when I was 14 though. It made me very ill,but I persevered. It took me nearly 30yrs to stop.Lots of money spent, but oh,I did love a ciggie.I'd do it all again too.

I began smoking at 14 too and quit ten yrs ago. Smoked the whacky weed too. My hubs still misses it so much because it kept him calm and serene. He always wants to start again rather than being on pills for it. But it is too expensive and illegal still. He can't just smoke one little hit, he smoked a lot!'
I wasn't really bad in some ways, just ornery I guess you'd say. Never skipped a whole day of school till :"Senior skip day" and got caught and had to do two weeks detention. We called it playing hookie.

my version of egg rice, with corned beef in it, had left over rice and corned beef, so that was easy.

There is a great park about an hours drive from me here in Pennsylvania. A huge lake and lovely campsites and bathrooms. It is called "Prince Galitzen State Park".You would love it and the campers would love you too!

I win now!:ghug:

I'm tired. Alarm went off again and I only slept 6 hrs which used to be normal for me. Not so anymore. Anyone want to finish cleaning for me now>Plz?:yfaint:

Car serviced - meeting in London - now what? I know I will annoy some people on here.

You are annoying everyday, but we have learned to ignore you, haha!:lol2:

Still waiting for you to add to our crush thread and limericks, etc.... It's been a long time!:ymad:

If you say so Teresa - no arguing here

Why, have I put the fear of God in you?:ylol:

Looked it up. It is a hairstyle like a braid that starts at back of neck,
Also a particular kind of abstract data type or collection of entities which are kept in order. Or also, your line and many other things as well!

From 'The Independent'

Brits and Americans have hundreds of different phrases for the same thing. Luckily, it's usually a source of amusement rather than frustration. A flashlight by any other name is still a torch. My personal favourite is "fairy lights", which we boringly refer to as "Christmas lights".
The classic, and most regularly encountered, point of difference between British English and American English, is the concept of "queue" vs "line". And once that's been established, are you "in it" or "on it"? I have always referred to myself as waiting "in line" which apparently makes me un-American. I suppose neither is visually accurate. "On line" makes me feel like an elephant about to sit on one's fellow wait-ers. Then again, "in line" smacks of naughty puppeteering.

But you know what is universal and instantly understood on both sides of the planet? Cutting. At rush hour recently, I was waiting on line to purchase tickets at a train station. An animated English girl waited impatiently in the same queue behind me. After several minutes of dramatic foot-tapping and some supplementary sighing, she decided enough was enough.

She broke out of the line, approached a gentleman closer to the front of the line and explained that her train was set to depart in five minutes. Could she possibly cut in? Maybe it was the accent. Maybe it was the pleading face of an attractive girl. No matter what it was, the man allowed her to cut a line about 12 passengers deep. While one wants to, where possible, curtail one's spiralling decent into curmudgeonry, I think I may have let out an "Are you kidding me!?". It's very nice for that man that his train wasn't set to leave for another half hour – but it was at the expense of 10 other people.

Here's another phrase that should head round the world: tough luck, lady. I wish he'd used it. I got my ticket and bolted to make the train, the doors shutting at my heels. Sitting in front of me, free of heavy breath, was the girl. When it was time to exit the train, I made sure to shuffle swiftly past her to wait in/on the taxi line/queue.

Well, now I've learned something about you and queue!!! Perhaps we can leave the education to a more sensual nature now! Haha! Teach us something we don't know!
See what happens when you have to clean all day? You lose your morals!!!:yfaint:Blah, I am bored and tired!

...and I'm ornery, so I decided to join your discussion since I'm ornery enough to be in here last. lost my drive for awhile, but I'm b-a-c-c-k!

ancient history or not, I may not have heard the exact English definition of the word queue, I knew what he meant, and I knew what Teresa meant. I win.

My win now because I am taking a much needed break. I am almost done finally. Had to clean the kitchen and hallway floors and sunroom again because of the dog. Did you ever see "Turner and Hooch?". Well, then you get the idea! Ucky!!!!

the wind tunnel stayed in west Kaysville, and in yesterday, and didn't touch any houses. was the broken window near your work, Kirsty, from the earth shifting?
