Thought For The Day

It's great to be a woman because.....
New lipstick gives us a new lease of life.
If we forget to shave,no one has to know.
We never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates are still there.
We don't have to fart to amuse ourselves.

Winning.
Hmmm...I was going to say something witty, but I had to scratch myself and got distracted. :)

My doctors say I am fragile.....I am tough as old bones so I disputed it but did not get the last word!
I go to the gym three times a week ,it is well supervised and the kinesiologist plans the program to individual needs.i also walk miles each day.
We are all tough on this forum to continue with all the intrusions that life hands out
Singin' in the rain.......and
Winning........

Fragile has been used to describe me. Grip on reality to be specific,or so the voices say.

...and I believe the voices say win!

*emotion alert Robert* Fellow IBD'rs, caregivers,undiagnosed,spouses/partners have helped me be strong. We are a diverse group.

I agree with Trysha

Early win for me.........might do a lap of honour 'round the supermarket.

Fully dressed of course,it's a bit chilly 'round the freezers :eek2::smile:

Nice to see you Dave, you've been missed.:ghug:

When I was young I often went to stay with my cousin Jan,who was a notorious bed-wetter.When my Aunt asked which end of the bed I wanted,I ALWAYS said "The shallow end please."

Ha ha, you have quite the wit, don't you Carol? I had a little scare last night, my oxygen concentrator stopped  working at 11:30 pm, while watching television, but it turned out that somehow it just became unplugged while sitting there quietly. Winning since. :)

Ladies, never let your partner watch you giving birth,
For him,it's like watching his favourite pub burn down........
He knows they'll do it up,but it won't be the same.

winning

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great week.

Huh!

We have an General Election in two weeks. I am getting fatigued by it already. I vote for whoever is the most tobacco friendly - a clue, it's not the Green Party.

I wasn't going to bother posting but I really wouldn't forgive myself if I allowed the previous casual poster to win........... winning !!!

Thanks Carol, I needed the giggles. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great week. Winning

At first glance I thought you said have a wonderful weekend. :ybatty: I'll just add I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

When I was young I often went to stay with my cousin Jan,who was a notorious bed-wetter.When my Aunt asked which end of the bed I wanted,I ALWAYS said "The shallow end please."

The shallow end, huh? That explains a lot. Win!!!

It's quality, not quantity.

Never mind the quality, feel the width:lol2:

For those of you who think I've overstepped the mark (again)
That was the title of a TV show, back in the day.

PS. It was about the goings on at a gents tailors,(so I'm told)

RIVITING :lol2: !!!

Today is infusion day,joy of joys. I do get to leave work early. It was supposed to be pouring this morning but it is sunny and blue skies. I'll take it as a good omen.

The nurses where I go for the infusions are awesome. They would fit right in here on LOW. I suppose I have to get ready for work...I'd rather play hooky.

Win!

Hello all! I'm here to take my win while I can, but I have to run off for a bit to collect my prize, a massage.(Are you jealous?) But be warned, I'll be back. hehehehehe.:rof::rof::kiss:

There must be something wrong with me ,because I can't think of anything worse than having a massage voluntarily.(I know there are a million worse things to have, but you know what I mean):(:eek2:

But Sandy,if you like them and you get some benefit, that's great.

Winning.

I know a lot of people don't like massages, but they are heaven to me. I don't know what is wrong with me today, I woke up voluntarily about 6:30 a.m. I never do that. I must be winning. Have a great day everyone.

I think she's asleep Trev,so I'll have a morning win before I read the paper and then go to the DIY store and then FISH & CHIPS.......

DIY in our house stands for Don't Involve Yourself and Fish & chips means no cooking today.......I am blessed !!!

I'm awake. Yes it's been 2 weeks. I've applied for another job. It's time to move on.

Hi ya Carol, does that mean you get takeaways? Or does hubby cook?

Today was take away, and it was crap !!!
It never fails to amaze me that take away food can be so bad.I'm always disappointed. We live 2mins from a fishing port and the queues at the numerous chips shops have to be seen to be believed, weekdays and weekends. All I can say is ,they can't be fussy.

Hubs says I make the best fish and chips, but it's good to have a day off from the kitchen.

Are you fully recovered from your hysterical-ectomy K.,?

Don't overdo it yet, mind !

Yes I'm fully recovered. I'm working 4 days at moment. I get really tired still.

We having a baking day today.

I've been fighting a migraine for a day and a half, so I'm taking this win "to go." Have a nice night all, see you tomorrow. Bee good. :ghug:

8-55pm and don't have a clue what to do today.Housework and laundry up to date and food prepared.I'm going for a brisk walk for an hour, then what ???
I shouldn't complain,I know lots of people would envy my life.
We still can't decide on whether or not to have another dog.The "for" list is a LOT shorter then the "against" list.As I've mentioned before, dogs have been my life for 50yrs and I (we) find it difficult to function without them. Quick win, then it's "on my marks, get set, GO !!!! "

Maybe some things on the 'for' list carry a higher weighting than what's on the against list. Sometimes it's not about numbers but the value

So,on Fri.pm.I decided I had waited long enough for my ultrasound results re: gall bladder.
It's been more than 4wks and I was told I'd get results in 2 or less.I was expecting to hear from the hospital,as my GI refered me, but I rang my GP surgery in case they had gone there. No joy,was told to contact Hospital. As it was late PM.I emailed hospital and had a reply within an hour."Sorry,no results here, contact your GP." Of course, everything grinds to a halt at weekends,so I'm off to my GP in the morning, with gritted teeth.

Well.....the G.Ps receptionist says they have no record of me having an ultrasound.
Which I half expected,as it was my G.I. who refered me.I was half hoping that they would offer to get in touch with the hospital,on my behalf , hahaha. Just told to get in touch with the hospital myself.I have tried to phone a couple of times, but maybe they're on their lunch break. Oh ,Happy Days !!!

That is awful, Carol!:eek2: It's hard enough to wait for test results without the "professionals" losing them. I hope things get straightened out quickly.

That's awful for you Carol
Sometimes when I have a busy signal from a medical department I disconnect and immediately redial and repeat ,then repeat.it usually gets me a connection
If not I leave it for 15-30mins and then do it all again
Takes loads of patience. Determination and willpower
Phone the specialists office directly
It is shameful to treat patients in such a shoddy manner
Talking of specialists my GI has sent me back to the surgeon, seeing him on Wednesday
Not very happy about it,can't bear to think of more surgery
Still worse things happen and it is devastating to see the destruction in Nepal
Poor poor people
Our weather is still very cold, winter clothes still but the sun is shining....

Winning.....

Good morning all of my lovely friends, and Robert. For today's prize I would like Kirsten to come stack my firewood neatly, and then I will take you and all of the ladies to lunch.

What about the guys, we need to eat also. Stealing the win now!!!

Men alone = beer, cigars, talk about sport, women.

Women alone = actually I have no idea, can't be as much fun though.

You're right Trev, men need to eat too! All of you are invited, but if Robert wants to eat alone he can. When he learns to work and get along well with others, he can come join us.

Oh, for today's win I would like somebody to do all of my physical therapy exercises for me, and me get all of the benefits.

Morning all, today I'm winning - I just came back from the Doctor and I decided that I am winning. I have had enough and I am winning - questions?????? :voodoo: what I want to do to the doctors :ybatty: how I feel right now :hallo3: what I wish would happen to crohns and the side effects :ghug: how you guys tend to make me feel (thanks)

Women alone = Beverage of choice, talk about the men who will serve said beverage - preferably at Kirsti's beautiful location, and anything else our contented little hearts may desire. :rof::rof::rof::rof::rof:

Plenty of my own ideas on what should be done to doctors...:ghug: to you in the meantime Grumpy.

Ditto regarding some docs
The GI and The Surgeon each ordered MRI scan
Two weeks wasted...outcome radiologist wins....
CAT ordered....no MRI regardless of the fact that I have been repeatedly exposed to radiation from CAT scans.
Go figure....
How many patients are over exposed to radiation in this way,I suspect it's about patient age and money
It's good to have this forum
Winning........................(hmmm maybe)...............

Today I've drunk beer, had a smoke, talked about sport and women. Oh Robert, it seems we are the same.

I'm not supposed to have ct scans. I think I'm allowed one more and then I would have had too much radiation. They never tell you that when they give you one.

I had a doc tell me he was worried about about the amount of radiation I was receiving from CT scans.
Middle of the night win.

To all of you who need a good laugh, please look at DaisyGs last post on the "Joke" thread.

Of,course,it might be just me,but I haven't laughed so much for ages.

Had phone call from Hosp.this morning..........Gall bladders coming out !!!

Hugs Back Shanen - hope you are feeling okay?

Feeling ok crohns-wise. :)ybatty: I shouldn't tempt fate by saying that!) Waiting for the MRI appt to be scheduled. After all the crohns xrays checking for blockages and repeated chest xrays when I had pneumonia they figure radiation is not something I need right now. You think?? :voodoo:

Funniest thing I've red in a long time. Literally laughed until I cried!

Uggg. Hopefully you'll feel better afterwards.

Okay, I vote that we put all the doctors on a small island with an angry crohns patient for a day and see who survives....I'll bet on the patient. They told me yesterday that I have glaucoma from the drugs that I have been taking for my crohns - not impressed - find out on the 12th how bad the damage is and what the next course of action is surgery or more drugs - I truly think that it should be illegal to leave you on or put you on a course of drugs that will cause more issues and then act surprised when it happens - fools.

Anyway, I hope that everyone has a better weekend and a lovely day. I need to go read DaisyG's post.

P.S. DaisyG's post is brilliant - I so needed that laugh - thank you, thank you, thank you for suggesting it.:ylol::ghug:

Glad to help Grumps. You're another friend having a real crappy time !!!
Wouldn't it be great if all we had to worry about was laughing to much and being over loved ??? Oh, and wondering what to spend that spare million smackers on hahahaha

The joke was really funny. 😀
Carol, when does the gall bladder come out? How are you feeling about it all?

Don't know yet.Spoke to the G.Is secretary yesterday, after my case was discussed !!! Waiting for an appt.with the surgeon prior to the op.But I insisted I see the G.I.,as I need to talk to him about my colitis/crohns.I feel it has been overlooked somewhat during the past few months of tests.I'm seeing him on Thurs.

Our son is coming for a short visit mid.june,3wks.We haven't seen him for 5yrs,and my hubs is insisting that I DO NOT cancel if op. is scheduled for then.
He's right of course. This has been going on since last August.:(

Winning

For those of you who are interested.....

It's a girl :dance::dance:

Robert has been at Buckingham Palace since Wednesday, with his face pressed up against the railings. He is now handing out cigars to all and sundry and rolling up his sleeping bag.:rof::rof::rof:

What some people will do for a Knight hood eh ?

I hope he took some pictures ;)

Yep you take the op when it happens. I can't believe how much better I'm feeling after my op.

Where is your son living?
