Hello Kirstie
It has been a warmer day today and we are hoping it has come to stay
Prince Edward Island had 10cms snow a few days ago
That is many miles down east from us.
Winning.........

I've started nightly fires now, it's getting chilly but we very rarely get snow

Here to win while everyone's away. :)
For today's win I think I'll take a full time free plumber (cold water faucet just broke in our only shower/tub combination. Yikes!):stinks:

Happy Monday all. ANOTHER bank holiday here,we're painting the staircase......

May the 4th be with you....:dance::dance:

Just thought I'd remind all of you that tomorrow is revenge of the fifth.:ylol::ylol::ylol:

Firth of Forth...not to be confused with the number 5 or Fifth....
Winning.....

Morning all, hope you all had a lovely weekend. I sincerely hope that this week is better than last or there may be bodies strewn about everywhere. Winning for the nanosecond - happy cinco-de-mayo for those of you who may partake.

Showing up for my weekly win which is enough to keep the females here on their toes.

Just finishing the staircase......it's a good job I love him so much otherwise I'd file for divorce for unreasonable behaviour. He does his best, and that's all I can ask,but a house decorator he ain't.

Ask him to do the garden or fix an engine now.....that's mans stuff. WINNING

Carol,I believe 'man stuff' includes winning, such as this. Win,Win and win! :highfive:

Welcome Joey

Welcome Joey, lets hope you have more stamina and dedication than the rest of the men on this thread.............Winning.

If that's your idea of "man stuff" all I can say is, give Joanne my sincere sympathies:ylol:.

this is a pg version,Carol. Please, senior members(and I do mean SENIOR)need to set the tone and be a good example.

Morning all, in fine form I see, welcome Joey buckle up it can be a rough ride sometimes but a lot of fun. Dave that was sad for 'man stuff', really?????? Hope everyone has a wonderful day with good health and lots of happiness. Winning!

I do believe that he is awfully close to that ummmm "senior" member status himself isn't he? Or is he just lurking in the 50 and over group with the rest of us?:p

I think I saw his avatar photo on the US COPs about 15 yrs ago.

I shudder to think what he was "wanted" for............;)

Lurking with intent ?????

Oh the stories I wish I could tell.
Hi Doug!

:ack: I haven't crossed THAT line yet. :rof:And what's wrong with "lurking?" I always have intent, sometime it's just not my best...:p

Divorce?? No!!! Stick it out and make him suffer...

If there is a murder reported out of Kaysville, Utah when Doug gets home from work, please contact the authorities.

Funny, I have to do all of that stuff by myself. Not the plumbing or electrical, but can do almost everything else. My dad was a master craftsman and a Superintendent in Construction and I think I can use every saw and tool that he owned anyway; and am rather picky on things being straight and done right because of him - go figure. Remind me to tell you about my broken nose sometime and the banister and the fact that my husband didn't die - that was the first question my doctor asked me by the way. Needless to say when I installed the laminate flooring I told him to go away - far, far away.

Grumps, I wish you had installed our laminate flooring. (can the same person be murdered twice?)

Hubby and I installed the laminate floors in our bedroom. When it came time to do our kitchen I chose to go to work that day and my husband and son installed it. Not that I can't...but like you Grumpy...things not done right or things not being straight sets me off. I figured if I didn't see it installed this time I wouldn't worry about it.

I gave up that thought when I saw him install 2 sheets of drywall in my kitchen and had a nervous breakdown over the fact that they weren't straight and that the mudding and taping were awful and he kept telling me it would be "fine" when it was done.....I had to put up a chair rail to cover the joint until I got brave enough to take it down and do it right while he was out of town and my dad came and helped me. To give him complete credit where credit is due he would have been the first to say that unless it was metal or on wheels he wasn't good at it. He could weld like nobodys' business and he could make anything run but he wasn't very handy with household stuff.

I have the stone tablet with my birth certificate info chiseled into it somewhere around the cave.

Loved your DIY posts guys,I'll think of something else to keep us chugging along soon.
I noticed some of the "B" team joined in too.

Off to see the Gastro then shopping.Toodles x

DIY huh? How does the saying go...jack of all trades, master of none. When I want to do a project I enjoy it,when I have to do a project, not so much. I have a large amount of hardwood flooring I am sitting next to as I type this.We got it in the Fall and were told to let it sit and acclimate to the house conditions for a couple of months.

I figured it would be a good Winter project.I hate to use this disease as an excuse, but, between blockages, extreme fatigue,a couple infusions that didn't go well and some challenges with the setons...I just didn't have it in me.Throw in the non CD issues life can throw at us and I felt overwhelmed by it all.

I have a backlog of things that need to be done around here.I have been getting some help taking care of my Dad and his place.A sisters friend went over and raked his yard and cleaned the flower beds for me.I went over yesterday after work to do it and was surprised to see it done.Dad and I got to hang out and visit.I've been spending the majority off my time off with my Dad and been a bit neglectful to our place. He really enjoys visiting with his 'grand dogs'.

I did replace a toilet the other day in the upstairs bathroom.Woo hoo! I don't know if it is just me,but it seems for every chore I check off the list,a couple more get added.:ybatty:

Did I tell you guys I dumped my motorcycle? My left arm was pretty scraped up and I bruised my ribs, ankle and both wrists. My ankle and wrists were swollen and that lovely green/blue color for a few days.My ribs are feeling better, still hurts if I cough and I can't lay on my left side.On the bright side-my tattoo didn't get scraped and there was no damage to my bike.

Wow,I can really babble on,can't I? Win!

When we were young (er than we are now) I was fanatical about the house. But there comes a time when you realise what's important. It was great that you had a relaxing time to spend with your Dad,that's far more important than chores.Because Les isn't a keen DIY fan (I always did it myself, back in the day) We've gone" shabby chic"
If he misses a bit,or somethings not quite straight, that's "shabby chic" hahaha.I tend to have Morrocan type décor,so it works quite well.
I'm glad you saw sense and got rid of the "HOG" you old Easy Rider, you. My nephew in N.Z. was killed on his bike, and my Bro.was a Hells Angel for a long time.Heaven knows what HE got up to !!! Take it easy Dave, and don't beat yourself up about neglected chores. As Dorothy says,"Tomorrow is another day" ( I think)

We say dump or dumping when we are getting rid of something, including husbands/partners,as in "You are so dumped",or we're going to dump that old chair etc.
I know dump also has different "topical" meaning in the U.S. As I've said before,we all speak English but in a different language.:thumleft:

We use dump in the same way you do Carol, mostly I think the other is just slang - the topical I mean

Yep, dump has many meanings for some. (Especially Crohnies :poop:!) Least favorite is when co-workers "dump" another load of work on my desk. :voodoo::voodoo:

Recovering from a flex-sig today......glad I was sedated
Hi Everybody...
I see there has been lots of activity on LOW lately
Must be spring and at long last we are into warmer weather
Winning........

Sorry for the dumping confusion. Ha ha. :poop: Yeah Carol,it has that meaning here as well. If you want to get colloquial,"I took a Diggah".

Trysha, glad that is done with. I am also a big fan of being completely out for these procedures. My idea of a good scope is hearing "you may get drowsy when I increase the drip" and waking up when it is done.

I can do the electrical work. I think I may be Scottish, as I wanted to change all the light fittings and switches in my house one year and I refused to pay for a sparky. Instead I studied for 30 Saturday's sat a theory and practical exam and for my electrical service technician part a qualification. Then I did the light fittings all by myself :)

Sorry you dumped your bike, it's stink when you do it in your own driveways, been there and done that!!

:ysmile:Happiest of birthdays lovely Shanen!

:emot-dance::applause::banana::bdayparty:
:birthday2::birthday2::birthday2:
:congratualtions::dance::dance::dance:

I'll trade my birthday cupcakes (well intentioned Butter PECAN :( ) for cheesecake. Any day.

It's truly a boysenberry cheesecake. I'm partial to a baileys and kahula cheesecake too

Last nights dream.......down the water slide and into the pool,on stilts.AND I stayed upright.

If that doesn't deserve a prize,nothing does !!!

P.S. how about a fruit cake chock full of nuts and cherries ???

(a bit like this thread really):rof::rof::rof:

How about lemon ice cream cake....it's very hot weather here today
Winning.......

That is correct Kirsty......it's the way things go here
From freezing to baking..
It is so hot today, the first time I was out with no coat.....lovely
My turn to win now
Winning........

A couple weeks ago we had snow one day, then temps in the seventies the next. It is also not uncommon in spring for a person to be able to snow ski and golf in the same day, in locations twenty minutes from each other. As Jeff Foxworthy has said, you know you're in Utah when you find people wearing shorts and a parka at the same time. :ywow:
For my win I want one of Shanen's birthday cupcakes.

I think you are there not here. If you were here you would be welcomed in fitting by the fire while dinner is being cooked :)

Happy mother's day to ALL the women out there, whether you have your own children or not. Women are the great nurtures of all mankind.

I'm hoping for a change of fortunes. I got the spider bite, then the wasp sting on the weekend. But why oh why did I have to fall over going down a slope this afternoon. A big thanks to the man who stopped to help me up. Thank goodness chivalry isn't dead. My head hit the pavement, knee grazed. Pride dented. Now need to go shopping for new clothes. Hhhhmmmm I see a silver lining in the horizons.

Well,if you will put brandy on your cornflakes K.,:rof:

Seriously though,I bet you got a fright eh? You must take more care of yourself Superwoman......

Morning all, or afternoon as the case may be. Hope you are all feeling feisty today. Have a Doc's appt. this afternoon and the eye specialist tomorrow not looking forward to either but will go and smile and nod and not cause bodily harm to either. Winning for now.:)

I seem to be feisty all the time these days. And I like it. I'm happy you can practice your self control. :p

Feisty is good! I wholeheartedly subscribe to being assertive when following up on our health with our various docs. We need to understand we are not the only patient and,at the same time, not forget we deserve a timely and honest reply as well.

...My colorectal surgeon's office is dragging there feet i.e. my appointment next month. Grumpy, could you pay them a visit? :D

K,my ribs hurt,how's your head?

Shanen,do they always want to stick you in the same vein?

I'll take a my ribs hurt and can't sleep win!
