Feel better soon

My Dad had a swollen leg like hard as a rock and a rash and they still don't know what it is. But ruled out bloodclots and celluitis thank God. He may go home tonight. They don't know what caused it. My Uncle has Atrial fibralation, spelled? and anyway, he coughed and started throwing up blood and it would not stop. He almost died drowning in it. They have him sedated on vent and pumping blood out of lungs I guess. He is in ICU. When it rains, it pours! I don't know yet if they will do open heart surgery or not. I will let you know when I find out. Plz say prayers for both and my poor Mom who is exhausted being at the hospital with my Uncle this morning and then my Dad tonight!!!:heart::heart:

Thinking of you too Doug and for sure, when it rains it pours for you now too!!!UGH! God be with you tonight and tmro!:heart::heart:

it does pour at times, doesn't it? Doug is doing better now, just exhausted. I think colonoscopies are as hard as some surgeries (having had both)

Dear Lord,
Look kindly upon these loved ones of yours and grant all that they need.

(and please may I have the win)........

Hugs everyone
Trysha

we had freezing fog, and the frost on fences, etc is sure weird.
Sure hope your dad and uncle improve fast

Oto, who loves potty humor (mentality of about a seven year old in that sense) laughed when I told him that basically they were "putting a camera up Doug's butt."

Kids are funny like that. The kids nicknamed Mike Uncle Monkey butt because he calls them Monkeys. Then Mia called him Uncle Monkey butt crack!

Did you know there is a thread called "Fart absorbing undies?" You can order them online for all IBD'ers!!!
Speaking of wind, you should hear it out there, sounds like the roof is going to go. I guess I shouldn't even say that!!! You know all too well!:ywow:

Are you tired??? I am. I guess I should get going Hon. I will contact you tmro and you PM me when you can. OK? LOve to you and hubs!!!

eek! I have ptsd from that ... well, I did. EMDR therapy really works.

Doug, Good luck in your scope today. The prep really is the most horrible thing to do. I never could fugure out what was more bad.. the prep or the scope. And I have been through it .. if I say 20 times I dont think I am far off. Of and they dont use anestesia here for the scope.. only in special cases.

Teresa, Big hug for you. Hope your family feels better soon.

Rest of you a big HI!

And for me a awesome WIN! !!!

Sandy, I love freezing fog. It makes the trees look so pretty. We usually get it in March when the snow starts to melt, but overnight the temps go below freezing.

Really.. no one here all day? I will take that win now then. Linda has had it long enough for sure.

I'm awaiting any news from my family. Don't want to call because i'm sure the phones are ringing off the hooks! I am experiencing belly pain moving around, maybe from stress! Hoping to have something to share soon. Thankyou all for your support!

Waiting to hear how Doug is doing too. Let us know asap!

Teresa, still prayers for your family. those are scary issues. Just ust remember it is in God's hands and God is not only just, but caring.

Doug and I just got home, and he is well. (A kind neighbor drove us.) I can't imagine them doing that procedure without anesthesia, Sanni, but I know it is done. That is a crazy amount, also.

Doug probably doesn't have any new stricturing, but he did have his old surgery site stretched. He is to continue his crohns regime as before. A couple biopsies were taken just to check for inflammation markers, but the doc doesn't think it is anything but scaring.

I don't know anything new about my sister Sue or niece Rosa, but will let you know when I know. All indications are good for Sue, but I'm worried about Rosa. She had been told by her old cardiologist to never have kids, but her newer one told her she would be fine if they watched her carefully. (She was born with all sorts of heart problems and had a pacemaker put in on her first birthday, once she reached 11 pounds I think it was. She was tiny!) Once she had Carter (Carter Douglas by the way), all sorts of problems erupted.

Well, we win again.

Thanks for all your prayers, cares and sweet comments.

SOOO glad Doug is fine! :heart:Scar tissue can really cause alot of pain. I have it from back surgery and it puishes on that nerve and man it hurts. So God answered more prayers! He is Good all the time! Still waiting for any word. I'm about to call my Mom!

He looks good, I think he just wanted to walk around the whole inlet- or he cold be a gigilo cat

Glad it all went ok for Doug, he will b happy to eat again. I'd love to have a cat cam on him or a GPS locator

Hey GJ wot u been up to?
Sleep well Sandy
Yea I'd go for the Wolf GPS locator rather than camera

Hey-o all! Random afternoon win and enjoying my last day in Chicago!

Glad u let us know GJ! Sent you out your card today, aso you will have it by the time you have your surgery. We all will be praying for you hon! I'm waiting , my Mom is calling me right back. Emergency sounded like with my uncle. Read earlier posts. Be back later.

I have been in Chicago this past week at my seminary for a conference and to catch up with some of my firends. But also too this is like my last fun thing to do before surgery next week.

It's good idea to do lots of fun stuff before surgery then you can keep remembering them whil you get better. You are creating your own happy place of good memories :)

So true! I miss these people so much and I am glad that I was able to get away from work for a week to see them.

No change with my uncle or my Dad today. They have to keep my uncle on ventilator till the blood is all gone so they can see where it is coming from. Keeping him sedated.
My Dad's leg is still swollen and hard as a rock and they don't have a clue what is causing it.

Sneaking in for a win.

Kirsty, Glad the handsome man is back. I love cats. (Except when they barf) Can you cook me up something irresitable? I don't have an appetite so food appears very boring right now.

Sandy & Teresa, You can clean up the kitchen once Kirsty is done cooking. Hee, hee!

Sandy & Teresa, You and your family members have my prayers. I hope things imporve soon.

I had a quiet afternnon with a cat sleeping inside my robe on my tummy (Official tummy warmer!) and one sleeping against my legs (soft leg warmer!) and one sleeping on the couch across from me. Kids off donig music lessons as well as teaching music lessons, the other is doing the chauffering.

Folks are walking in the door and walking out just as fast.

Hubby on second round of Levanox for blood clot. Sigh....

It's been very foggy here today. Can't see very far.

Doug, Glad colonoscopy wet well.

Robert, Where are you? I need someone to pick on. LOL

:

It was a good scope. It seems the scarring from my surgery site was closed off some, and he dilated that area. No inflammation found. Biopsies were taken to check for inflammation on a microscopic level, but it seems my pain was being caused by the scarring from my surgery. This is fabulous news!

Hey NL great to see you. Hubs has been doing all cooking this week as I have been in chaos, but all settling down for a quiet weekend. Hubs gone off to play golf with work buddies nd comes back tomorrow night

What does nd stand for?

Arent' you the lucky one! Hubby cooking!

My hubby made Romain noodles for me this eve. Tough thing to cook. LOL!

Amen to that doug! so happy for you!

Good news, my uncle is off the ventilator. The bleeding was from a nodule on his lung that burst and he was on heavy blood thinners and that's why he bled so bad. They are doing the biopsy to make sure he doesn't have cancer in the nodule or lungs.
My Dad's leg is the same. He goes to a DR. on Mon. I looked up his symptoms and I think it is something called Venous return. It is a weak wall in a vein of the leg that can't return blood to the heart, so it Pools in the leg and causes it to swell and be hard. You have to keep the leg elevated. He already is doing that. But, there is no cure and it said to wear compression stockings. Getting old sucks, but I still thank God he is alive!!!:heart::heart:

I'm glad Angel Lady you still have your family too. I'm supposed to stay home (hard to go anywhere anyway) to take care of Doug, and slept seven hours myself anyway. Doug said he was just snoozing off and on himself, thank God. Glori, I haven't forgotten you.

Ever feel like walking away from all the so called medical experts?
My GI thinks I may have some reaction to Remicade but wants me to continue to a third dose (March) and he will do antibody studies in May at the 4th dose.!!
I waited two hours to see him, and felt like walking out.Not like me I have loads of patience usually and wonder if it is another med effect. Not happy at all, but will recover..
I would not usually write this but since it is so quiet....
