Haven't been around the forum for a few weeks. I was fairly stressed out at the beginning of my two weeks off, but had lovely second week. My brother, one of his daughters and a friend came up. First time he has been to the island and we had a great time.
HE left on the Monday and I went back to work. Then on Friday I got a message to say that my Mum was very poorly. I flew down to Ayrshire and stayed with a friend - Mum was in a nursing home due to severe dementia.
She died on Wednesday at the age of 80. Managed to get a lot of the arrangements in place for the funeral and then travelled back up to go to work and make sure we all got paid and to collect DS to go back down for the funeral.
My next hurdle - DS is off to Uni in Glasgow so we are heading off to the mainland again on Friday.
So I'm a bit of an emotional wreck. The good thing is that, despite all the stress and eating way off my usual diet and on the run, so far my stomach seems to be holding out. Last thing I need is a remission busting flare.

Hey I'm so sorry for your loss,, losing your mum is so hard, my mum died 5 years ago at 65 and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. My dad passed away on May 8th this year, exactly 5 years and 1 hour after mum.

I pray that the memories you have of your mum can give you comfort right now and that they can sustain you through these tough days. Sounds like you have a lot to deal with that will maybe distract you a little but make sure you take some time for yourself and don't let anyone try to pressure you "to get over it", grieving is a very individual thing and will happen in its own time.

I'm here if you need a chat, take care. :ghug:
