What is YOUR weather like today??

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

It was very mild here today. Temps reached 42F (5C) and the sun was even out for a bit. This is not a typical January, but I'm okay with it!

Partly sunny and -2 C with a windchill of -9C. Great weather for shoveling the driveway from yesterday's storm - looks like 5 centimeters (2 inches) of snow.

35 to 50 centimeters (12" to 20") of snow is forecast for Tuesday / Wednesday

Temp ended up at 37c yesterday. Back in sleeves today, 21c and cloud. Still have yesterday's heat in the floor today.

3F with a brisk wind bringing temps well into the negative numbers. One of those days where the sun is nice and bright but offers little warmth.

Currently 18c / 64f and raining with no wind. Expecting a high of 21c!/ 69.8f haha. Am back in socks and cord jeans. Garden will be jumping for joy :)

Good luck, Lisa and all Americans experiencing your worst snow storm ever. Guess who's jealous. Would love to experience just one day of that. Stay safe all.

Pretty big storm in the northeast. The population factors into it as well - 35 million people affected by the storm and large centers like NY and Boston.

It will start to hit here over night and we are expecting 30-40 cm (12-14") before it is over and another 10-15 cm (4-6") on Friday night.

Blizzard: 30-45 cm (12-18") of snow on the way. -10C with a -22 windchill

Made it in to work, but it was closed.

Anyone else getting hit by the "Blizzard of 2015"?

I forgot to check e-mail before I left. We are salaried so there is no issue. There is about 19cm (8 inches +/-) down in the past 6 or 7 hours.

Well, the storm missed where I live, which is about 2 1/2 hours north of NYC...I have friends further East who are getting hammered though.....it is snowing here and windy but now we are expecting only a couple of inches...

It's better to have dire warnings that don't come to much,as no warning at all.

We've got warnings in place here for the next week ,but hopefully it'll fizzle out.
This country grinds to a halt after a few centimeters of snow.

this country gives out dire warnings if the weather changes. I'm just waiting for them to declare a drizzle storm or something after the weather bombs and other hyped up info they give in our crap press. I think they like sensationalism. However, we experience weather each and every day so it just doesn't sit with us. We always have to take our weather with a pinch of salt, esp on an icy day, lol.

28c today ,potential new ice age! But in line with your conspiracy theories in the UK they are warning us that another low has a potential of developing into a cyclone in the coral sea. Mind you every low embedded in the monsoon trough has that potential. Sooner or later they actually have to be right. Ron.

Currently 19.4c / 66.2f approx. at 2:30pm. Won't be reaching the expected high of 21c. A low of 16c tonight. Nice and warm inside with all my bone broths and cookie baking going on :)

Digging out from just under 3 feet of awesome light, powdery snow! There is a lot of it,but it is snow and not some rainy/snow mix we have been getting these recent Winters.More forecast for tonight.

34c today in Queensland, high temps in west Australia, more bushfires and houses lost. Ron.

As opposed to the Midwest (and elsewhere in this country) that has had horrific snowfall the past while, we are definitely in drought conditions in Utah this year from our snowfall, i.e., lack thereof. We have been having temperatures that are April average temperatures too. But it sure does make for comfortable days!

We finally got our cyclone but fortunately it wandered all over the south pacific and coral sea without actually coming into Australian territorial waters. A high caught up with it today and at last report it was limping of to the south east to give New Zealand some grief. At least it gave us some strong cooling southerlies and we have been at 29c all week. Ron.

We had a couple of inches of snow yesterday, but we're with Sandy. We've had a lack of snow so far, and if it doesn't change, we might have a drought this summer. But as I've lived here long enough, I know that anything can change and then we'll be at risk of flooding.

Snowing again (and again and again and did I mention again?) It's beautiful and I don't mind it, really, so much better than brown and grey.

I want snow, Marlena! I'm jealous. We get damp, grey, drizzly cold weather and I want complete white coverage. It's always so wintery and pretty. We had fine hail that stayed and turned to ice, but it's not quite the same.

Where are you by the way? I know it's obviously the northern hemisphere, unless you're in Antarctica.

I live near Bighamton, NY, USA, which is called the Southern Tier,, south of the Finger Lakes. It's a beautiful area and I am happy to be here. I have been to the UK a long time ago and loved it.

I'll sell you our snow cheap! Get it before its gone :)

I wish that worked! My son's sledding field trip had to be postponed since there isn't enough snow. He's not happy about our lack of snow this year. The ground is so bare they've been able to play street basketball in January.

In Minnesota????!!!!! Wow. We have lots and more keeps coming.

This has been an unusual winter. We had rain in late December, and temperatures were in the mid 40s for a good chunk of January. Usually, we get some snow in mid-November and that is it, we have snow until March. But all the snow we got melted except the giant piles in parking lots.

At least it hasn't been cold enough to close schools this winter. There's always an upside!

Still in the 29-31c range. WA still having problems with bushfires in the south west. High temps and bushfire alerts in south Australia. Ron.

Sunny and -20C with a -25 windchill. At least it is not snowing, we ended up with 4 feet over the past 2 weeks

Temps remain high with high humidity. South east Queensland still has not had much rain but it that is changing for the north of the state, They have predicted half a metre of rain ,yep 500 mm, in the next week . It is one of only a few places in the world where you can drown standing on land. It rains so hard you can hardly see through it. It scares the hell out of you in a boat. You literally have to take the bung out and drive at full speed just so you don't sink. The other problem is keeping the kids out of it. Drowning is only one option , the snakes and the crocs are two others. The saying 'a bit of rain won't hurt you'' depends on where you live. Ron.

Geez,Ron.I agree with Marlena,Yikes! I was going to complain about it snowing again...still...but I won't.I'm in a similar boat as hawkeye, lots and lots of snow with more on the way.

Sunny, blue skies,cold........Makes you feel you HAVE to go out, even if you don't really want to. So we've done that and are back .

Don't worry I have no plans of heading north , I have enough trouble with the heat in SE Qld. On the news last night they had a cute photo , depending on your idea of cute, of a mouse and a snake taking shelter out of the flood on top of a guys barbecue. Sort of wondered how that was going to end. Ron.

5c,lots of sunshine and blue sky.....Going to have a run out either up the coast or inland to the countryside. There might be some early lambs frolicking about.

A couple of towns up on cape York received over 350mm of rain in a day and it is still pouring in some areas up there . We are getting some heavy showers but they are short and sharp and not delivering much. The sharks are still being a menace. There have been two fatal attacks in WA recently and two attacks in northern NSW in the past week. One was serious but not fatal . The other was yesterday and the surfer lost both his legs and half of his surfboard. His mates got him to shore but he could not survive the blood loss. These days they will need to grow legs to get a shot at me but I feel very sad for the families involved. Ron.

marlena, you seem to know your weather quite well, but we do understand you.
@Ron, we are sympathising with you Auzzies, how awful. omg, the weather changes lately seem to focus in some areas on this planet. Yours is one. Good luck. sorry to hear of the issues and loss of life. Thank god, I think we are safe on terra firma. rather cold, ice and snow, and even thunder and floods, but what changes are occurring in our oceans and even our weather.

Stay safe everyone.

It has been the mildest winter I've experienced since I've lived in Minnesota, which is almost 20 years now. There is almost no snow on the ground and the temperatures are at or above freezing. The kids are playing basketball outside in February!

Marlena, I wish we had some of your snow! You guys are getting buried there. How many feet do you have on the ground so far?

Same as yesterday, sunny and calm....I might stop posting until I have something exciting to report.

Didn't see any lambs yesterday, maybe they're staying inside Mum until they're sure it's safe.

Still 30c , still having the odd shower. Heard from my brother last night(only have one sibling ,5 years older than me) He is in hospital. He has suffered ulcerative colitis and proctitis for 35 years . He takes sulfasalazine every day and the odd short sharp shot of prednisone. It has kept everything in check. Unfortunately between hemarroids and prolapse he had to go under the knife yesterday and have his rectum rebuilt. He is not a happy camper . His motility restarted ok but his bladder took a lot longer to restart and his BP by dropped to 75/45.I spoke to him last night . He was cheerful enough but very dependant on the adult nappies, And they say there is no justice:). Ron.

Still sunny and beautiful here too. We could use some of your east coast blizzards (but not all), then everyone would be happy.
The crocus are even starting to come out. Not even half way thru February! Don't know whether to dance or cry.

Ah, the seasons are changing.
Sorry to hear about your brother, Ron. Does he come on here? it might help to communicate with others.

Overcast and not too cold.

He just ignores it , that is why he is still alive. He also has barretts oesophagitis but he does not worry about that either. His major concern is getting his 4wd and caravan ready for a trip over to Margret river in WA in six weeks time. That keeps him off my case ,once a big brother always a big brother. 30c today and showers. Ron.

in Boston area: flurries all day but, luckily, they don't seem to be accumulating. Supposed to snow tomorrow night and Saturday night to add to the 6+ feet of snow we've gotten in the past 3 weeks.

Low thirties. A low formed up near cairns . The people that had close to 500 mm last week have been told to expect another 500. Their is an old joke that you don't have to worry about the sharks up north,,, because the crocs ate ém all. A tourist beach was shut down on Tuesday because a four metre plus croc waddled up the beach and ate his lunch,,,a whole turtle. The tourists lost interest in swimming but went mad with their cameras. Ron.

Still hot, back up to 34 next sat. Still pouring up north, nine year old girl swept to her death yesterday playing near a flooded creek, they are expecting another 2-300 mm today, the Tully river is running nearly 17 meters over its normal level. We continue to have high humidity but just a few showers. Ron.

Frigid today, especially since we've been so spoiled by above average temperatures. Currently 2F with a windchill of -11F.

34ºC in Melbourne today - a bit cooler down here on the coast but still over 30ºC. A couple of nights ago we had an amazing thunder storm and 26mm of rain.
