What is YOUR weather like today??

Still hot up here 40c forecast for Brisbane tomorrow. It was 40c in Nambour today. Too hot for me. I can't take it any more. Before I got really sick around sixteen years ago I could take the heat...not now. I feel like going down to the local shopping centre and sitting in the aircon all day. Ron.

Heavy rain all day yesterday and when you've got a dog, well you have to go out don't you.? All the coats are dry now though.

Grey and calm today, and STILL not as cold as it should be.

No thanks we are having our first heat wave of the year. temps are expected to hover around 36c for the next four or five days and may even get as high as 40 c. There is a strong northerly wind and combined with the total lack of any rain let alone decent rain the whole of Queensland has been put in a state of emergency for the coming week. There are some twenty fires already burning in the state including some rare ones in the tropical rainforests. We have a prime minister who does not believe in global warming , I hope he takes a long walk outside at midday on sunday without a hat. He may just cook some sense into his 1940's brain. Ron.

There was a picture in our daily newspaper yesterday ,of people with their heads in the sand at Bondi, as a demonstration about that.

-4 (25F)Celsius and sunny (windchill is -10C (14F)) It might get warn enough to melt the snow that we had yesterday.

Counted 3 cars off the road yesterday in my travels - likely a combination of worn summer tires or no snow tires and driving too fast.

Another overcast, cold day with flurries. We might get another inch or two. Yesterday it was sunny and snow melted, only to freeze again in the evening, causing all kinds of crashes due to the ice. My preference is when the snow melts, it really melts. The melt & refreeze is the most dangerous. Plus it does a number on the roads.

We are having trouble with the roads as well. The tar is melting and your tires spray bitumen down the side of the car. If you stepped out of the car in bare feet you would get third degree burns. We are expecting around 40 c again . They say we are getting a cool change thru on Monday some time. Temps are dropping to 31-32c. Ron.

Ron, that sounds serious. How much does a journey cost when the tyres are melting on the road, and the road does too. Omg, travelling just got expensive down there. Sincerely hope that it's nicer for you soon. Keep cool, esp from Monday. Haven't you got the hottest to come yet?

Not freezing, but still have numb fingers and hands. Had very much shrunken veins yesterday and the most painful bloods ever. Two nurses, loads of pain in both arms and a bit of blood in many tubes as it just wasn't possible to take blood with my circulation so damned poor.

things could get worse for us I suppose, but so far nothing too bad as yet.

So sorry about the veins Spooky! Not too long ago they tried for over an hour to get an IV in me for contrast dye for an emergency CT scan (to diagnose pulmonary embolism which I had/have) and finally gave up to have me go back the next morning where I was finally diagnosed. My arms were black and blue everywhere. But no brain, no pain.:p
And I too prefer the cool over the hot. We have had cold weather here still, and a light snow flurry here and there. Better than Ron's heat, but I was soooooo enjoying the extended fall we had. Can't have everything, tho.:):):)

Linda there is something delightfully inviting about a snow flurry. It just sounds so cool, The English language so wonderfully descriptive. I don't have to strain my brain at all to picture a snow flurry. I want one. Ron.

I would like to give you all the flurries we just received! A flurry is fine,it's when they get together, the trouble begins. Kinda like some crohnies, names withheld to protect the guilty. :ylol2:

23F and cloudy and,thankfully,no wind.

How much snow did you get, Dave? We got a couple of inches yesterday. Now the sun is coming up. It is kind of cold outside, though. It is only 8F right now, and it won't really warm up. Shouldn't get warmer than 20F.

I have to say yesterday I sat and just watched the snow come down. It was incredibly calming.

2 Celsius (36F) and partly sunny. A good day to get the Christmas lights up on the front of the house before the weather gets colder or we get snow.

Currently 30 with windchill of 17. low tonight is 27 with windchill of 8. Had snow flurries earlier this evening. This sounds like nothing to some I am sure, but i live in TX

Another cold day. Right now the wind chill is -8F. This is January weather, not mid-November weather. At least it is sunny today.

They've just been showing the problems with the jet stream on the weather. Looks like we're going to have the same as last year. No winds today, just showers and grey skies. Not freezing cold though.

31-32 today. I might have to back off the diuretics for a while. I am losing so much fluid thru sweat I am not passing much urine. I am drinking plenty of water but as soon as I drink the sweat just pours off me. I see my nephrologist tomorrow I guess I will ask him. Perhaps I should just move to antartica. Ron.

It is COLD...snow flurries, suppose to be in the teens overnight with wind chill in single digits. I feel like the tin man who has not been oiled - stiff! Would love a snow day!!!

I'm waiting anxiously for a good snow day too (as long as I don't have to drive in it). Nothing like a good book in front of a picture window while the snow falls and a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket. Still just colder than usual here. Ron, I'd send you some of the cold if I could. Just a little of it tho.

Nah send me lots Sandy. Your bears have a nice warm den. I want to fill my cave with snow and ice and hibernate in it. Ron.

Ron, you can have all my cold weather with my natural gas bill, too. It is only 8F right now, and the wind chill is -10F. I checked on my phone, and that equals -13C and -22C for the non-Americans. I think in this case, I prefer Fahrenheit as it just seems warmer. No snow predicted, so I guess we're back in typical winter weather where sunshine=cold.

Looks like it's going to be a looooong winter Linda, and a loooooong summer Ron.

I feel as if we're in limbo here. It's still calm and grey (ish) and in double figures,10c during the day and much the same at night.I have thrown the duvet off a couple of times.
Still got the autumn one on 7-9 tog I think.

A whopping 21F out today with a windchill of 8F...these blustery winds are crazy! I AM enjoying my snow/ice day however. Catching up on grad work and house work. Going to have to take a break though, have a post hospital follow-up i a few hours with my GI. I would much rather stay by the fireplace.

Have just seen the dreadful winter weather in parts of USA. stay safe everyone, and as warm as you can.

Still boringly grey and calm here, but no complaints.

Ron...... stay cool and hydrated !!!

Thanks I spent the night in air con. Tetsed a cpap machine . The joy of not waking in panic unable to get oxygen. I hope they don't take too long getting the script out to me so I can get a machine. We had a really wild electrical storm during the night, All flash and bang but no rain. I hope it did not start too many fires. Ron.

That's a heck of a way to get an air conditioned sleep Ron. Still cold here, but a storm is moving in here and it is expected to bring warmer air, of all things. Backwards!

Still no change here. It's 10c,very still and a weak sun has made an appearance.Spoke to our son in Kalgoorlie this morning and he wishes he was here.So do we,but for reasons other than the weather.

Same here as it has been for a while now. Cold, with chance of flurries.

Looking at the pictures from the Buffalo, NY area where they got about 5 FEET of snow, I prefer bitter Minnesota cold to that! I can just imagine the flooding when it melts.

Was partly cloudy this morning and about 20 F at home...as for Buffalo, they are expecting up to another 4 FEET of snow on top of what is already there....I'm listening to the live radio feed from out there, biuldings are starting to collapse from the weight of the snow...add to that the warmer weather that is supposed to come along with the rain, things are only going to get worse before they get better!

Our snow turned to rain. I've been following the weather in Buffalo. Crazy!!! Those folks need some help ASAP!

This is supposed to be the last cold day before a mini-warm up with 2 days above freezing. Then we're getting snow on Monday with expected white-out conditions.

We don't have anything to complain about in the UK EVER weather wise.Compared to parts of the USA and all of Australia, the UK could be classed as temperate.

But oh,we do love a good old moan !!!

Grey and damp (no rain) 9c and mucky underfoot.

We don't have anything to complain about in the UK EVER weather wise.

Mostly true. Ever a bit far. We do get pretty severe flooding at times. As we don't get extreme weather that often, we are poorly prepared when we do.

Another hot day with the wind out of the north. NSW declared a fire weather emergency for the week end. We still have not had much rain but a supercell formed over Brisbane last week and up to 110 mm fell in an hour. Quite a few cars washed away, fortunately no deaths. Ron.

Hot and sticky still in the mid 30's c. Over 40c in a lot of areas in NSW today. still not taking my diuretics. Sweat pouring off me and no sign of oedema yet . Soon as there is I'll go back on the diuretics. I think I'll apply for an honorary doctorate... Ron.

sitting by the wood stove as I look out at the 30F morning.A few clouds but should be a nice day in the mid 40's.Temps of the lower 50's for this coming week, that's not right.

Its amazing how your perspective can change. Yesterday was 35F and it felt so warm, we went out without jackets on. It is 44F right now, and that feels so warm. I'm glad the warm up happened on the weekend.

We had our first snow last night, not just a "flurry." Snowed a little more today. Looks so pretty with a fresh blanket of snow in the ground. I just hope that those in the Buffalo, New York area that were buried with so much the past few days are able to safely dig out (I understand some had five or six feet!) without too much problem.

We had 3-3c today ,tomorrow it is going to get into the 35-40 range. Reminds me of the new zealand national anthem.
God loves New Zealand He gave us boiling mud,
He was the full quid because that's not all he did,
God gave us Australia ,you can't live in boiling mud.
If it keeps getting hotter each year the boiling mud may well look more appealing. Ron. (I am really quite fond of the Kiwis we just like to stir each other)

Well, the cold is back, and it brought flurries. It isn't too cold yet, around 25F, but later today the wind will pick up and then it will get cold. This is what makes winter my favorite time of the year!

I'm glad we only got a dusting of snow yesterday. With the wind, even with that little amount of snow, it was hard to drive because of limited visibility.

Today is sunny and cold, with significantly less wind. I'm convinced Siri on my phone is used to a warmer climate. When my son asked her for the current temperature, she replied it was very cold. It was 25F, which isn't all that cold.

It's 3 am sitting at the computer it is still registering 33c on my thermometer. I can't sleep. Every time I try I can't breathe. I had an apnea test a couple of weeks back. During rem sleep my o2 drops to around 80%. The heat is messing with everything. At first I thought it was dehydration from diuretics ,stopped them for a while. Have just taken one now because I think I am getting some pulmonary oedema. Have you noticed doctors start getting tired of you when you have a multitude of chronic illness. I think I may just take my stretcher down to the local shopping centre and camp in the air conditioning at least till I get my cpap machine. I am so sick of the heat and being sick... Very unhappy Ron.

Ah,Ron.I really feel for you. Fill a plastic carrier bag with ice and put it on your head for a while, then your feet.I have a photo of me in Aus.with one on my head and my feet in the esky.Oh happy days.......NOT !!!

I really hope you get relief soon.

Ron, I hope you are able to get some relief from the heat and related issues soon!

It's snowing right now. We'll get around 1-2 inches before it stops sometime this afternoon. Thankfully it will be all done before the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow.

4 degrees Celsius (39 F) with a windchill of -1 (30F) and cloudy,

It is the calm before the storm, 20 centimeters (8 inches) of snow on the way starting tonight

The temps have dropped to around 30c yesterday it does not help me much as my flat is set into the side of a hill that faces west. The sun is on it all day and the heat takes forever to dissipate. It is ten past seven in the morning and my thermometer still reads 34c. Ron.

Super cold here. it is -1F with a windchill of -12F. But at least it is sunny!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Linda, omg, what does that translate to in oC's. I'd be frozen to bits. Have you considered inviting Ron over, or do you just have the one loo?

sunny and crisp out.

sunny and crisp out.

It is -18C air temp and -24C wind chill. My son & husband are outside playing in the snow, so we're obviously used to it and have appropriate clothing.

Ron is welcome, even with our one "loo" (I love that word, American's don't use it!). Heck, anyone wanting frostbite is welcome to come visit Minnesota this winter!:ylol2:

Sounds completely Siberian to me. Are they building an igloo, an igloo with a spare loo might be possible. Ron might like it in there, but hey, frostbite can't be that much fun either. -24C omg, You should do a one month holiday home exchange with Ron. I'm sure you could appreciate a sun tan for a month from Australia. It would just give you both the change you need mid season, lol.

Stay safe both of you.

More trouble last night ,Brisbane (100 kliks south of me) , was hit by the second super cell storm in three weeks, . It was the equivalent of a cat two cyclone ,winds oof over 140 kilometres per hour , huge hail and torrential rain. this morning over 65000 homes are still without power. No word on casualties so far but authorities are asking people to check on neighbours particularly the elderly. The army has been mobilised to help with the cleanup particularly downed trees and damaged houses. The cells continued north but by the time they got to my area they had spent their force and we did not even get any rain. There is no doubt that our weather events are becoming more severe. Ron.

I woke up to snow today, and warmer temperatures. It is 13F out right now, should get up to 25F. Tomorrow we might even go above freezing!

Spooky, I like the cold weather. We have no bugs and the kids love the snow. I only don't like when it gets crazy cold like last winter. It was -20F more than once and they actually cancelled school 6 times due to extreme cold. I hope we don't get that again!

Even the authorities can't believe the ferocity of the storm that hit Brisbane. There were injuries but no deaths. well over 100 million dollars damage in just over an hour. Hail the size of baseballs. Some areas there is not a pane of glass left undamaged in highrise buildings. Archerfield airport dozens of light planes were ripped from their tethers. State emergency services lost two or three of their rescue choppers when the hanger doors got ripped off and hail peppered the choppers. Unbelievably scary for those who went thru it. Ron.

Sunny and -5 Celsius (23F) with a -10 C (14F) windchill

Ron, I was watching come clips of the storm in Brisbane on the weather channel this morning, it looked like a ferocious storm.

Well, Sandy, it's lovely here too. Our bulbs are coming up and I don't have my heating on, but it's 18.5C indoors. I shall enjoy this British weather whilst I can.

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. It was around 40F with no wind. The kids went sledding for over an hour and not one complained of the cold!

Today is cold. It is 13F right now, with the wind chill of -3F. Tomorrow should be even colder. Chance of flurries every day now that winter is here. Bring it!

We had a reprieve on the weekend with high twenties but expected to rise to the mid thirties again by Wednesday . We have only just started summer it has been the hottest spring on record. Ron.

It seems everywhere is experiencing these record breaking weather temps. Definitely climate change. Still sunny here in Cornwall, not too cold either.

Storm damage in Brisbane has now topped the 200 million mark. Highest November temps in over a hundred years. Hottest spring on record. Bought myself a small evaporative cooler, about all I can afford. On the first really hot day I expect to see it run screaming from the room. Heat is rising again. Storms expected by the weekend. Ron.

8c grey and calm.........cold weather on the way in the next day or two,but the forecast says it's not going to last. ???

December started like it usually does here. Frigid weather with a wind chill advisory. This is just the start. I wish I could share some of my cold weather with Ron.

22F,sunny with blue skies. Had a nice walk in the woods with the dogs. If you keep moving it is very nice out. Carol,I'm the one that slows these walks down. Thank goodness they get busy hunting for mice and voles and I can catch up. :)

mine wags his tail at mice and such......I think they laugh at him.

5-30 pm. temp.down to 3c.Glad my dog walkings done for the day.Hubby does the dark nights.....

Insurance claims are still rolling in in Brisbane . The damage bill has passed 300 million now . And a new trough has generated dozens of storms in central Queensland that are expected to reach the coast by the weekend along with rising temps. Ron.

Coldest night so far this year. But it's been a bright, bright, bright sun shiny day.
The trouble is that the sun is so low in the sky at this time of year,it gets on my nerves.

Lend me your shades Dave.
