Did Humira reduce your trips to the restroom?

Huge difference - In a flare, I would go 20-30 times a day. Now, it's 1 or 2, and it's 'normal', formed, regular!

Considering Humira and still have questions about side effects...

I was soooo worried about starting Humira, I actually put it off for a year. I ended up giving in, however, because I would get so sick every few months and was on a lot of pred. I started Humira in Feb of 2010, and have been in remission ever since, I was able to wean off the pred and now...

    Question for Humira Pros

Agreed; try the Benadryl first. Funny how our bodies are so different. I started out with really bad injection site reactions. First, my doc got me to try the Benadryl 1hr before the injection, (which didn't work for me, the reaction was too big). So, I tried taking pred before each...

    Have any generic cooking questions?

Cool! Just saw this thread. I agree with what vonfunk says about frozen foods - don't put frozen food in the oven unless the packaging specifically states to cook from frozen... If you are roasting meat, the inside will remain frozen while the outside overcooks and becomes dry. Bad scene...

    Anyone on Humira without Methotrexate

I started methotrexate on its own first. Then, I started on Humira because my symptoms were not improving. I was on the Humira/Mtx combo for about 8 months. Methotrexate made me feel tired and nauseous for 2 days a week, so I asked my doc about stopping it. He said to go for it, and see what...

    Where is everyone??

I've been here, mostly just reading... I was gone for a couple of weeks at the beginning of July, though, I moved to Quebec! Has it ever been hot!! Phew! Glad to hear you have been enjoying the summer, Cindy.

    Konjac-is it safe for Crohnnies?

I don't know about the supplements as far as how much fiber they have and how it would affect someone... but, I do eat konnyaku noodles and never had any problems. Maybe try a big bowl of noodles first before buying a bottle of supplements?? :)

    Too damn hot

Ugh, it's hot here, too... Not as bad as you poor Torontonians have it, but I haven't been in humidity like this in a loooooooong time! Today was the hottest day this summer, for sure. Lots of time spent indoors during the day, and going out after the sun goes down...

    Solumedrol

I've had solumedrol while in hospital, and then oral prednisone once I was released... If you're having the solumedrol before your remicade, I'd imagine that's the same idea as me taking prednisone prior to my Humira shot. Do you know what your dosage is?

    What Career/Job Do You Have?

My name pretty much gives it away, I'm in the hospitality industry. It's hard to work when I'm flaring - constantly running to the bathroom, and nausea so bad that the smell of food makes me feel sicker... Luckily, until now, I've had very understanding employers. Not sure how other places...

Batman asks: Humira and Prednisone Biweekly?

Hahaha, Ian, thanks for noticing! :) It's true, batman; You can take one dose of pred every two weeks, without needing to taper. Even for weekly injections, my doc said it would be OK. Pred worked really well for my injection site reactions, but - opposite of you - I was really allergic to...

    Moving away!

Well, I'm days away from something very exciting and also stressful in my life, and I'm happy to say, my guts are co-operating!! I'm moving away, halfway across the country - a four-day road trip with my dog. I'm super nervous and anxious, but also reallyreallyreally excited! I decided to...
