Then I'll come back to win. I've got another "oligist" I need to visit. Let's see, the last couple of years besides my good ol' GP, I've seen neurologists, a gastroenterologist, a urologist, a neuropsychologist, and it's been suggested that I see a endocrinologist for a pituitary gland growth I have, (although I've had that for years and it hasn't changed) and I really need a new cardiologist (mine retired a couple of years after repairing an atrial septal defect which left me with atrial fibrillation which I didn't used to have.) Now I get to see a nephrologist because my kidneys aren't working correctly, the creatinine and protein levels are three times what they are supposed to be. Oh joy, what can be next?
Can I at least have one pity win this time? My allergy to doctors is getting out of control.

Hardly - poor attempt

Here's another one doing a paper round, unless you've just come home on the back of a milk float.:ylol2:( for those of you who don't know what that is.....in the old days,a jolly fellow, who whistled while he worked, drove a battery operated little truck thingy and delivered milk to your door, very early in the morning, rattling and clinking the empties he collected from your step, which your Dad put out at night, with the cat.He then called for his money on a Friday night on his way to the pub) And for that little anecdote,I WIN :rof:

That all sounds right - except as a child it was a horse and cart that delivered the milk - true and I am not 104.

Yes,I remember the ice-cream man had a horse and cart, and the rag man.The rag man would blow a trumpet to let you know he was there, and if you gave him an old shirt he'd give you a balloon. After he'd gone the adults would rush out with a bucket and shovel for the horse muck,to put on the rhubarb.personally,I preferred custard.:rof:

12 hour win. My original RULES clearly state a 12 hour win ends the game.

Thank you and good night!

Good Afternoon........New Rule......Peeps who only post when they feel like it CANNOT take it upon themselves to change the rules. Some of us dedicated posters are hanging on by the skin of their teeth, trying to keep this thread open.

You know what they say.......You have to be in it to win it !!!!

I'm in it! Utah wins.

Well,I'll just take one more win than I'm going to choose an Indian take away.We haven't had one for at least 6mnths.Probably Lamb Kurma & pilau rice.If I get extras I can't eat it,and I can't sleep if I eat too late...........Night Night all.Until tomorrow.

that food sounds interesting scottsma, how do you get away with eating it?

good time to win.......winning

So the clocks are going back one hour this week - dark by 4pm in the afternoon soon - is this the most depressing annual event?

I don't mind the darker evenings, but I hate the dark mornings.I'm an early riser, and I like to be out with the dog while the streets are quiet.I've just read in the paper that we can look forward to lots of rain too,oh ! deep joy.I'm taking the win to cheer myself up.

I'm not a crohnie Trysha,I have moderate UC.I do have to be careful, but we all have to take risks sometimes.Turned out ok though.:)

Good to hear that and I agree with taking a risk now and then.It can be a positive in our lives.

now ----to win.........

How can you accept that which hasn't been offered to you ??? You TRY to win by devious means, whereas I win by sheer skill and determination......Thankyou And Goodnight.

Cosmic background radiation is the afterglow and heat of the Big Bang, the momentous event that kick-started our universe 13.7 billion years ago. This cosmic echo exists throughout the universe, and amazingly we can use an old-fashioned television set to catch a glimpse of it. When a television is not tuned to a station you can see the black and white fuzz and clacking white noise, around 1% of this interference is made up cosmic background radiation – the afterglow of creation.

Do you think, Robert, that there is a connection in all of this to the Northern and Southern lights?
Or that the Van Allen belts play a part in the magnetic fields.
Very glad you started this discussion.
Cheers--------------now winning
Trysha

Well Trysha I only wish I could give you a meaningful answer to this .......................... as it is .................. Carol it depends how long the words are.

It must be very wearisome being a smart a++e..........relax man and chill like the rest of us.Trysha, please don't encourage him,"Smug" is his middle name.

Oh yes !!! I WIN

I suppose you both feel very happy, treating a poor defenceless LADY so badly, well I hope you're ashamed of yourselves......(but I doubt it).

Believe me I AM A LADY !!!! Say otherwise if you think you're tough enough. This is NOT a challenge,so back off NOW.

Sorry about that Robert, but thank you for answering
Carol; do you not think the number of words could also relate to the size of the pencil?
Some are less than six inches in length like in your W.Hill betting offices or in Ikea stores.
winning--------

And in case anyone's wondering, light travels 18 million times faster than rain, but please don't ask me to prove it.

You obviously haven't heard the story of the Tortoise and the Hare,I think it was an Aesopps Fable, but I might be wrong.Google it,and then you may bow to the winner.

Is it just me,or is it reeeeeelly quiet on this thread ???.....now if you would just admit defeat and tell me I'm the champ,we could close this and think of another way to scare people off.

This was in the news today - but all most people want to know about is celebrity romances. Or is it just me who finds this fascinating?

A hot cluster of stars whose light began travelling to Earth just 700 million years after the Big Bang has been confirmed as the most distant galaxy ever detected.
The galaxy, code named z8-GND-5296, emitted the light detected by astronomers when the universe was only about 5% of its current age of 13.8 billion years.

Lead scientist Professor Bahram Mobasher, from the University of California at Riverside, US, said: "By observing a galaxy that far back in time, we can study the earliest formation of galaxies. By comparing properties of galaxies at different distances, we can explore the evolution of galaxies throughout the age of the universe.

Very interesting Robert, saw a similar report here.
Wonder what it all really means in everyday life?
winning..........

I'm definitely NOT interested in celeb anythings,or weebles, but Robert, some of your posts, although interesting, are too much for me to take in.SOOOooooooo,........A typical microwave oven uses more electricity keeping its digital clock on standby than it does heating food. (but not in my house,I'm green) and I've left myself wide-open to insults with that bit of Info.havent I Wabbit ???

Your microwave report is very interesting Scottsma, I don't have a microwave for the same green reasons as your self.
I do find Robert's posts of the universe interesting and entertaining---mind expanding.
It is a way to resist the onset of Alzheimers and brain deterioration.Very important to keep the neurons flashing away and active.
Now to the important task of
winning------

I'm a great believer in keeping the mind active Trysha, use it or lose it,hahaha.I do a crossword daily and I LOVE books. Not for me e-books I'm afraid. There's nothing like the excitement of a new book..................Except for WINNING !!!!!!

I'll say 5,000 but that's too easy if I know you,so I'm going to have a second look and see where the catch is.

Someone ......................... please

Please Robert,or I won't sleep tonight (and how long is it since you heard those words?)......What is it and how? you've got the answer in front of you so stop teasing.I was the only one who tried :(

Hi Trysha.......bye Trysha !!!!!.................I said 4,100 but the b**ger gave me the impression I was wrong.I fall for it every time.

But at least I'm winning this......AND DON'T ANYONE TRY TO TELL ME DIFFERENT !!!
