We'll that was a long break. Actually I became logged off and couldn't remember my password! It must be my age - speaking of which many thanks for the birthday wishes last week.

I have now moved to Suffolk so it is a mere five hours travelling to and from work each day! I spend most of it working or reading - it is just the tube journey in a London that is the killer.

Hospital has increase my Aza dosage again - but I feel fine - it's a funny old world!

Actually I can pick up wifi on the train - so perhaps a good opportunity to pester people on here.

Good to see you again Robert---sorry about the aza though--hope all goes well.
That is a horrendous journey you have to undertake daily.
Have you thought of investing in a helicopter?
Travelling can be a killer--especially that overcrowded tube train.
Do you get the Brighton -Bedford express for part of the journey?
We once experienced a carriage full of people with cell phones and computers----it was a zoo---the cacophony of sounds unbearable.
Part of our family is in Suffolk.
Cheers!
Trysha

Welcome back Robert,I feel quite emotional (not)....you missed your birthday, but we enjoyed it.the peace, that is.

I think you have been away too long Trysha - this is over in East Anglia. I often travel in the quiet carriage (with the old folk) - no mobiles, wifi etc but I like to check my Cigar Forum and football team!

The place has just filled with smokers - I could be here some time yet

Welcome back Robert,I feel quite emotional (not)....you missed your birthday, but we enjoyed it.the peace, that is.

Thanks Glori but I feel just fine - must have been something in the bloods they spotted

On the train to London - wifi, coffee served at the seat - all quite civilized actually

Here is a question - think of something that has two completely different names but both mean exactly the same thing

I just don't think Carol and Trysha are very good at this game

There is a Tube strike for 48 hours this week and next - so a three mile walk (each way) on top of my journey - still mustn't grumble or I might end up like .......... .....

How about stalk then?
Train can refer to a train, or a trailing wedding dress or training for sports, so I don't see why you turned it down Robert........
Sorry to hear about the long walk to work for you, could be healthy--as long as you are up to it.
If there is one thing you can rely on its strikes....

Train = Teach, Train = Ride it, Train = Trails behind wedding dress. Train = A series of something in line. Train = Point or aim something at some one or something.

Trysha, You're right. No reason for Robert to turn train down other than he wanted two words that meant the same thing? (I think.)

Thanks Naturelover
People should say what they mean.......
Cheers!

I get it now----sing warble---
How was the commute to work Robert?
Did you walk reading your laptop? hope you look both ways before crossing the road---the students here often fail to do this---and sometimes with dire consequences----
Scottsma--I don't think you were the only one picked upon:)
Lovely sunshine today can't believe it heralds a major snow storm this evening
Have a lovely day everybody

Sorry Rob's picking on you Trysha and Scotsma. I'll slip over and straighten him out for you.:lol2:

Winning from my recliner, full of lunch and cosy warm.

No! Must mean something different up North

Actually I have taken the day off - but will be in tomorrow for day 2

Bit of advice.....stay home !!!

Unless you actually own the company, you're only a number and you'll get no thanks for being a martyr.

What be that Trysha?

Hello Robert
I am not sure what your comment means
The Mini Med course consists of a series of lectures on different topics.
It is a fee (modest) paying interest course.
Last night an MD Allergist gave an excellent lecture on the topic, their origins and reactions at the cellular level and how there are different types of allergies etc.
the second MD talked about the use of drugs in the elderly and risks of adverse reactions. Also how dosage may vary compare with younger patients.
There is a huge snowfall here and now the sun is shining--no warmth--

Ok, I'm back for a nice long win :). I have surgery booked 13 march to remove something on the top right of my voice box. It will get biopsied. Should be fine after that and hope to stop coughing. Meanwhile, move on over and let me win :)

Long enough Kirsty, don't milk it !!!! Teresa's also is having surgery next month for a lump in her mouth. But it's due to root canal work gone wrong.

Great to have you back xxx

Give my best wishes to Teresa, please.

Ta for the kisses Carol. Where's Robert? Hopefully safe and sound from bad weather and tube strikes. Last time I was in London there was a tube strike. I had to walk everywhere it took ages. Buses were all packed and it was quicker to walk.

How's the winter been for you Carol?

Feeling sorry for myself? Yep 3 mile walk across Central London in the rain now my mainline train is delayed - about 6 1/2 hours travelling today. Still at least I can spend some time on the train with you Lot ............... Huh ......... Maybe things really can get worse

Mind you don't let the computer be rained upon Robert--

winning------your cigars will be getting damp----
Could you not take a few days off till the strike ends?
Have you even thought of trying buses?
Tall order I know, since they will likely be jam packed!

How the other half live - my last intellectual conversation was discussing Gillinghams poor performance against Stevenage the other night

Actually I don't understand bus routes in London and the seats are too small if you are sitting next to an undesirable. I had already booked yesterday off but I would never let a strike beat me - I don't think they should hold the capital to ransom. Actually I heard that more people catch the tube in London each day than travel on every other train in the UK!

Kirsty win again. I've got to shot myself tonight, gosh it comes around ever so quickly. So it's a quiet one. I won't be partying it up at the Seven's in Wellington.

I will be fine. I have the biggest pile of fire wood. I've already stacked 3 rows in the garage as well as having 8 metres by 2 stacked outside :)

How are you Robert? Yes you're right re the wood. Is the tube strike over?

I am doing jolly fine thank you.

I am having to do a proper job these days - 'What! You mean EVERY day?'

Still some people would not call smoking cigars and socialising with customers real work

Hope you are doing well and not shouting at people

Xxxxxxxx Tube strike is on again next week but hey - let's forget about all that for the weekend. Cold beer anyone?

I think a cold beer is a good idea. Although a little early for one here :).

Me shout? Lol, the specialist asked what I did for a job, and I replied " I talk for my living "

Imagine me on voice rest after the operation? No one here can and they crack up laughing. My dad called me chatterbox as a kid and still the same now.

Where is your real job located?

Good you found time to come and socialise with us during your walk to work'
Hope it wasn't too wet for you.
Just as well you are not walking here-snowdrifts and icy sidewalks.
Lovely sunshine though but bitterly cold.

today is Saturday -----everyone wins--- for a brief time
are you feeling let down today Robert---perhaps missing your commute exercise
Such a lovely cold sunny day--- must go for a walk and increase my Vit D level.

Hello Trysha

Vitamin D - now I have been taking Vitamin D supplements for over a year (on prescription from the Doctor). However my level is still low - bit of a mystery really as there is nothing I am not doing / taking - that I am aware of.

Question - why does marmalade taste sublime on toast and awful on bread?

Vitamin D is the sunshine vitamin, which may partly explain why you have a lower level---sunshine is a scarce commodity in the UK.
A 15minute walk in the sunshine daily keeps up the D levels.
Crohn's patients appear to get into lower levels of D.
Toast covers the poor taste of bread and together with marmalade provides an enhanced and pleasant flavour.
