How high? Do I need to practice poker or the high jump?

I'll just say "hi" to my favorite group of LOWS.:dusty: Hope you have/are having/have had a great day. I have a feeling mine is going to be long...

WINNING!

Mine's been long Sandy; It's nearly 5pm but feels like next Wednesday. I kid you not !!!

Whoever said "without stress my life would be empty" wasn't kidding.

Have another and you may start making sense.

Lovely view Kirsty....beyond the glass I mean..........
Dave could be right....party time ...
LQ....Welcome
Winning...........

Might be best to wait until Pam has left. We are in for some bad weather but not as bad as some of the Pacific Islands.

After Pam you are all welcome to pop on over :).

The rest is in the bottle, Carol. :)
Trysha, it's a Canadian whiskey. My mate got me a bottle when he was there last year.

It's the time of year girl guides sell their biscuits. They do plain and chocolate. When Trev said his bikkies were melting I wondered if it was girl guide choc bikkies that were melting. :)

Hey Carol, I wasn't sure if girl guide biscuits were global :)

Say hi to Mama T and let her know I'm recovering well from op.

I've never had girl guides knocking on my door with biccies,I'm really not sure that it's done here. To be honest,I haven't even seen a real one on the streets.Only on TV,and not for years.

I used to be one though,...........I was crap.:boring:

I'll pass your message on to T., next time I mail her.

By the way, around here girl guides and biccies is a foreign language. Had to look up what the heck y'all were talking about!

Not so much door to door around my area anymore either. They seem to set up outside retail stores and last year some set up outside the marijuana dispensary in Colorado shortly after they legalized it. Now that's funny!! :rof::rof::rof:

Funny, Girl guides and cookies are almost a standard around here - more visible than boy scouts which I know are pretty popular in the US.
Hello LQ and Welcome.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that you all have a great day!
WINNING!!!!!:ylol2:

I've never heard of "girl guides" until here, just "girl scouts" (and girl scout cookies).

I'm much happier now, Doug is going to take me on a little vacation to Zion National Park for our twentieth anniversary the first week in April. Portable air concentrator all reserved!

Well,on top of all the other rubbish health issues,my 2 front teeth are coming out soon.I've postponed it until my ultrasound though (and my next hair cut). It's a bugger when your social life consists of docs.,hospitals,dentists,-chemists/pharmacies.

But most of you know that better than I do.........Winning

Here's something for you cat people;

In ancient times cats were worshipped as Gods;

They have not forgotten this.

You're right Carol about the cats :)
I've also been thinking that my life consists of little else apart from docs, meds, and procedures. It can be a little depressing at times. I think I'm in need of a happy angel. :)

What have you been doing with yourself during your convalesance ,apart from drinking Canadian Whiskey and looking a your fab.view ???

Are you improving ?

I've been watching birds in the trees; internet tv; knitting; writing; editing a literature review; watching cricket; that's it really. I'm improving just frustrated by lack of energy.

Well, your more industrious than I am,that's for sure.

I would say you put me to shame, but I don't care......I'm happy in my own skin.hahaha

nighty night all.

I'm sitting here in Doug's chair, listening to my lungs crackle and trying to get motivated to do some laundry so I can be caught up by the time our little trip comes around. (Robert, keep your green cigars to yourself. They'll turn your lungs green.) Winning while dreaming of southern Utah in springtime. Perfect time to go there.

Happy St Patrick's Day to Everyone
My family tells me that my doctors appointments and all that goes with them is now
my social life!!!
What else would we do with our time?
My mind was blown away at an acupuncture session where I had arrived with a raging toothache
The acupuncturist said he would remove the ache-----within minutes it was !
How does this stuff work?

Winning

Sounds like we have similar "social" lives. Keeping the medical insurance company happy is a hobby. I'm always looking forward to making new friends. My newest friend will be the rheumatologist in a couple of weeks. Can't imagine what fun tests they will have in store for me.

I've never been but always wondered if an acupuncturist would be beneficial but I was never sure of how reliable the treatment is.

If I walk across the road I am at the acupuncture clinic. Down the drive cross the road and I'm at their front door.

Okay coming back in for the win perhaps for a minute or two. I have never tried the acupuncturist either simply because prior to crohns I was a coward and now with all my new friends as Shanen and Trysha so aptly call them I'm not sure that I am any less a coward - heard it hurts, true or no?

My social life is nil at present. I haven't been back for acupuncture in over ten years. I'm just not good at watching them do it.

Crikey Kirsty,nearly 7hrs.!!!

Let me relieve you of the burden.
Listen Peeps, how about you all tell us what you would like for a prize when you win.You can have as many goes as you like, but nothing medical or schmaltzy.

So today I will have (in the nicest way ) George Clooney to buy me dinner.

Oh Carol my mind is spinning...
The best seafood platter with bugs and crabs, or a publisher publishing my book.

My bloods are back. They must work thru the night as the email came thru at midnight. I'll send them to my surgeon in morning. Platelets, white blood cells, neutrophils, liver function all high. Could explain no energy. Mind you so could recovering from surgery :)

Winning in the night :)

Acupuncture should not incur any pain
I had thirty needles placed and when asked how many I said six maybe....
The physio-acupuncture specialist said this.
Carol:
I would like to meet Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama
Just for a cup of tea.....I'm no good at eating.....
Kirsty liver function tests are very sensitive and will be increased with the smallest amount of alcoholic beverages.best to avoid any alcohol a week prior to tests
Sorry your white count is up......have you finished the antibiotics.?
Feel better soon

Winning......

Carol, I'd like to win a cruise

Trysha, yes I've finished antibiotics. I haven't had a drink since operation. The whiskey photo is from January :) I still have the pic on my phone. It was my grannies whiskey glass. That pic brings back good memories of her, she was a bit of a hard, blunt, forthright woman. :)

Funny that, because I have a little Kirsty doll that I stick pins in.

I have a little Robert doll that I shoot arrows at. Then I give it to Allie who pulls all the stuffing out. Not much left to it, just a stump of a man with the stump of a soggy green cigar.

I thought this would be the appropriate time to add that doctors, pharmacies, hospitals and all of you are my social life too. But, I like all of you also.

That's okay, I'm getting a massage in an hour, so I win no matter what (if I can wake up enough to enjoy it).

A massage sounds fabulous and the cruise also. Alaska would be beautiful but I'm thinking something a little warmer with some sand I can park myself on. :sun: :beerchug:

Sand is good, sun is good a vacation is wonderful. Or like Carol, dinner with either Pierce Brosnan or Sam Elliott where they have to talk for hours straight would be wonderful and dinner tonight with either would make my year.

I like the sound of all of that.

Robert, I wonder what other sorts of dolls you have in your collection? ;)

Hanging with you guys is a pretty good way to spend a day also, thanks you all made my day a little bit better.
Winning going out for a bd dinner.

Well 14+hrs deserves a prize Grumps.Hope you enjoyed your dinner.

For my win today I would like to go to some remote wilderness with lots of wildlife (but no mosquitoes) With my hubby,a chef and a housekeeper. And a boat.

Thankyou very much. P.S. Not too hot either.

Sounds nice Carol. :)
I think for my win today I'd like to be able to go for a three day tramp in one of our forest parks, with my best mate. I used to be so fit and adventurous with tramping, rock climbing, caving :)

Carol, had a great dinner and night my neighbor took me to the casino for my birthday and of course I didn't win but I had a lot of fun.
I think that I would like to go back to the Oregon coast to maybe Crater Lake to the Chalet for my win for 3 days it's beautiful there, great hiking and a really nice deck that overlooks the lake and phenomenal sunrises and sunsets.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and Shanen I hope your days get better. :ghug:

I have been looking at a holiday in Newfoundland......boat trip to see the whales another to see the puffins in Puffin Island and then touring all the beauty spots as well as going to a special introductory "Newfie screech" party, although I don't enjoy alcohol.
Lots of activity there, not sure I could keep up with it all.
Carol... Who would be driving your boat?
Kirsty...have a better night's sleep tonight
Winning.........

There are some great train journeys I think would be fun. There are motorcycle trips I've fantasized about(put down the doll Robert, not that kind of fantasy :) ). Like what Ewen McGregor and Charlie Gorman did in 'long way around' and 'long way down'. I think the diverse places we live would be a cool trip, all the corners of the world crohnies live. You would definitely see the world.

Win!!!

I would have to let my old man drive the boat.I'm a fool to myself, but I have to spoil him sometimes.

For my win today, could somebody please come and wash the dishes ?;)

I will gladly come and wash your dishes if someone will come and take care of my mom until I get back (fair trade right?)

So we had a solar eclipse this morning ........... Hmm, complete cloud cover where I am. It got slightly dark. Never mind I will wait for the next one in 2090.

Railway journeys? In Australia I did the Adelaide to Perth, it was .............. long.

We have never been on a train either, and came very close to having a train trip to visit my sister (at her suggestion) in Indiana, complete with sleeping "roomettes", in lieu of our upcoming trip to Zion National Park. It was really only a timing issue that kept us from doing so.
In the past week and a half, I have now had one major kidney infection, two migraines, and broken a crown with a piece of the underlying tooth broken off. Grrrrrrrrrr. (The dentist did tell me the second time he glued the crown on that it now wasn't going anywhere without the rest of the tooth. He was right.)

Sandy....feel better soon
Carol I will wash the dishes....I like washing dishes
I have taken a train from Toronto to Vancouver, visited the Rockies.,
Travelled on the Sant Fe Chief from Chicago to Los Angeles,
Travelled from Chicago to New Orleans etc
It is a lovely way to travel and the sleepers are quite comfortable
I've been everywhere...man....remember this song?
Winning.........

Grumpy and Sandy never on a train! That really surprised me. I spend over three hours on trains every working day.

I've never been on a train either. Often thought about it in the fall when the leaves around Lake Superior are so colorful.

I have a mosquito bite on my face right now, Doug has a couple really nasty ones on his arms, etc. For my win today I will take a full time housekeeper, cook and dog sitter (not just for one day, but at my beck and call for the rest of my life.)

Oh, and a gardener!

Back for another win because I now want new flooring in my kitchen, dining and hallways. And because I can! :)

That is quite a long list Sandy ....hope it all comes true
Someone here won 50 million$$$$ today in the lottery
Mostly its a mugs game though
We drove one Fall through Minnesota through to Hiawatha National Park....truly God's country

Winning

SANDY !!! That's just greedy. Talk about "Shy bairns get nowt."

For todays win I would like......... to be taught to swim by Brad Pitt (with shoulder length hair, like it was in Troy) :ytongue: ;)
