I win
Today has been so busy, I woke up many times. I've walked no more than 100 paces and when I wasn't lying down, I was sitting or walking. When I wasn't asleep I think I was awake. Today it took me 30 minutes looking for a remote that I didn't need to re watch NZ beating England at cricket.

Rolling over for the win, before northern hemisphere wakes up and cooks a full breakfast.

Well,so much for my brisk morning walk regime !!! I wore the wrong shoes on Friday, which resulted in me hobbling painfully home with blisters.( the said shoes are at least 6yrs old soft casuals, and have been worn many times) I can't wear any of my shoes except mules, and you can't do a brisk walk in mules..... so I'm just going to sit here and annoy you all.

I mean it was a good post - well constructed with beginning, middle and end. Quite interesting, one of your better ones. Not quite up to the early repeat though.

Shanen - put a sock in it.

We just found out one of our neighbors is going on a church mission to London for two years, and we told him to go by your cigar store to convert you, Bobby boy. :rof:

Huh. Someone else wake up cranky? Put a sock in it? Showing your age with that expression. :ylol2: Guess I'll have to hang out with the others and try to cheer your day. Is it possible?:rof:

What a boring day I'm having.........I've scrolled the forum, played Tetris on my phone, read the sunday papers, been to the shop and read a fair bit of my present book.(Paul O'Gradys The Devil Rides out......sequel to "At my mothers knee and other low joints"),,,,,,I can hear Robert groaning while rolling his eyes. There's another James Bond movie on TV,but I can't stand Timothy Dalton. I would get my Pjs on,but it's only 4-40pm and the sun's shining........oh well,I think I'll look for a puppy on the web....winning.

Middle of the night win, and I'm glad I could entertain you so easilyTrev (and Robert and Ducky). Now I have so much to say, but so little time, so I'll just say
WINNING!
:ylol::ylol::ylol:

Hi Kirst. How's the recuperation going? Are you feeling pretty much back to normal? (Still, don't do any heavy lifting, etc. for a bit yet.)

And yes, Carol, another doggy might be just the answer right now. Like said above, nobody can replace Alfie, but another dog might just occupy your heart enough to forget the sting, and probably will make a new spot in your heart you didn't know you had.

I hope I've talked enough to entertain my friends Shanen and Grumps too. Everyone needs to start a new week off with a smile on their face. :)
Happy Monday and don't work too hard.

P.S....... two things. Does Doug take his iPhone/laptop to the bathroom in the middle of the night ? and DID he come back (or was he hiding from you)?

Re puppy; We're still missing our little fella so much, but we don't much like life without a dog. There's no structure to our days and no fun and laughter.
We're waiting until after my gallbladder scan, just in case I need an Op.,
Then watch this space..........

Winning while waiting.

Really Sandy ???:eek2:

Do we need to know that ?

Lol, I just missed my best friend. It's comforting to know that he is there when I can't sleep. And no, no laptops or phones in the bathroom, he had no idea I posted that, and will be mortified that I did. And yes, he came back.

We just found out one of our neighbors is going on a church mission to London for two years, and we told him to go by your cigar store to convert you, Bobby boy. :rof:

Anyone who comes into my shop gets converted - into smoking cigars and having a good time. I will give them some cigars to take back for you and Doug though.

I've learned I can't trust myself when I'm on painkillers and not sleeping in the middle of the night, so I'm posting now. Sheepishly winning.

Good morning campers !!! It's 9-15am and a really beautiful day. I'm just off for a mooch 'round the shops to fill an hour or two.The town is only a 10 minute walk and I usually stop and chat to a neighbour or old aquaintence if I see them, hence the "hour or two".But you know I'm not a gossip,I'd much rather be at the coast with my "little lad".
I expect to see you all up and about and beds made neatly, when I get back.
You listening Kirst ???

Wow!...taking a I just read through 136 posts since I was last on low win.I suppose that is long enough to let you keep the win warm for me. Much thanks. Carol, where's that cuppa?

Well Sandy....I have been dealing with the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Now joining the L O W Feeling Better Club
Thank you for caring
winning........"

I'm just glad you didn't quote the rest of the soliloquy and are "now joining the LOW feeling better club." Life can be full of the "slings and sorrows of outrageous fortune" can't it? (((hugs)))

Dave and Trysha, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? We missed you!

Winning!
I'm getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from being missed. **Emotion alert Robert** I haven't been on the forum but have been thinking of all of you...even Robert. :D

I've been taking care of my Dad and spending time with him amongst other crohn and non-crohn life issues. I see my colorectal surgeon today.A fistula/seton 7 month checkup.

This doc is pretty cool and is not above a good crude humorous remark. Boys will be boys.

WIN WIN WIN!!!

Cookies are great too but why would you want to walk away from cake?? I seem to have developed a large sweet tooth lately. Winning.

I have a carrot cake in the oven, well not my oven, but a nice lady is making me one in exchange for some fish, should be ready for lunch.
winning.

My point exactly.....harder to walk away from any cake - and why would I want to - cookies are way easier to turn down all the way around unless of course they are hot out of the oven and homemade chocolate chip. Or any other hot out of the oven cookie that I shouldn't eat on my prednisone sweet tooth binge. Winning

Trev - That's my favorite! With cream cheese frosting...

Grumpy - I'm done with prednisone but the sweet tooth won't go away for me.

Winning...until the cake is done.

yes cream cheese frosting, the lady delivered and was trying to leave, but was still licking the frosting from the plate.

I didn't make cookies after all. But that carrot cake sounds delicious, one of the few cakes I prefer over cookies, especially soft homemade sugar cookies. Oops, I think I just felt a spike in my blood sugar...

Just had minced beef and dumplings, mashed potato, turnip, cabbage.Hubby cleared his plate as usual, but I'm struggling with food lately.I can only eat small amounts before feeling sick with crampy pains across my middle.I'm assuming it's gallbladder trouble ???
Having said that,I do tend to pick off and on during the day.
And you know what they say......LITTLE PICKERS WEAR BIG NICKERS (or tight ones)
But not yet !!!

I feel sick every time it's dinner. I get all queasy. I prefer to graze thru the day.

It's hard when you love food but the thought of eating makes you nauseous.

I think I over did it yesterday. As I've had pains all night, hence being awake at 3 am.

Morning all, I agree food is not my friend after being on pred for 16 months and gaining an obscene amount of weight even though I don't eat a lot (I think you gain it by just looking at it) I struggle to make myself eat anything at all most days and it is annoying. Oh well, could be worse.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Winning (sort of)

Hi Everybody
It's a lovely sunny day here and temperatures have soared to. -1.........it feels great
Carol you might find it helpful to cut down on fats till they remove your GB.
I remember going through some of that before mine was removed a few years ago.
Winning............

Thanks Trysha.Fats haven't agreed with me for a few years , 'though I've never been a lover of greasy food.Of course like everything somethings are just tooooo tempting. But I will have to think before I eat.My husband would say I eat nothing ,as he sees what I leave on my plate, but I eat yoghurts, bananas, rice cakes and flapjacks and I'm not fading away........Last win for me today.Keep well all of you and be as happy as you can.

I eat multiple small meals through the day. I graze. My last several obstructions were do to me feeling good and succumbing to temptation. I'll smarten up before I land back in hospital.

Overcast and damp today, the weather, not me,so I'm going to have a lazy day and catch up with some reading. The trouble is ,my sofa is close to the bay window and I can see friends and neigbours coming and going in the street, and I get distracted.Hopefully they'll stay indoors today, and let me concentrate.hahaha.

Winning

Business Hours
Open most days at 9 or 10,occassionally as earl as 7,but sometimes as late as 12 or 1pm.
We close about 5-30 or 6,occassionally about 4 or 5,but sometimes as late as 11 or 12.Somedays or afternoons we aren't here at all.And lately we've been here just about all the time.
Except when we're someplace else, but we should be here then too.

Don't be shy - just move the sofa into the front garden.

Well,so much for catching up with my reading !!! I ended up watching Papillon on catch-up. I think it's the 3rd or 4th time, but I still enjoyed it.

But ,why oh why ,do I feel guilty for watching a movie in the afternoon ???

I'm away to get ready for bed then watch some more TV........ winning. nite nite all.

Hello :) it's a morning win. Carol, I've been watching tv all day every day for three weeks. My surgeon wrote in my instruction booklet what activities I was allowed to do in the first six weeks "do nothing!!"
But I can win :)

Well move over darlings and let the winner see the post.

Welcome LQ916,I hope you've got fortitude and stamina. :thumleft:
