Ok im caught up Sandy.. Darn hard running with 2 hats on girl !! Hope u have the battery fully charged on that scooter hun .. Got the dark clothes on anyhow Shanen, witches always wear black !! Trysha keep calm and discrete dont want them to get wind of the great escape hun.. Carol if we come across any guards we need you to stun them with your gorgeousness in that outfit ok? Boys we may need you to carry the dead bodies to a hiding place after Carol has stunned them. All ready now Trysha here we come girl ....

I kid you not, my crazy neighbor/friend posted this pic of her and her "boyfriend" bison at Yellowstone Natl Park just a week or two ago. You should have seen the comments she got about lucky she was to still be alive. And she is. Bison are powerful, dangerous animals. And can run short distances at 35-55 mph. No wonder your team won, Shanen. (North Dakota State? )

Yes to NDSU Sandy. And the bison are very large animals. Certainly nothing I'd have enough curiosity about to want to be so close to.
 
I'm quite exhausted catching up,so will take a quick win then go and make a cuppa to recuperate.Must keep my strength up.....

I have a feeling a few of us would act like cheap drunks without the booze anyway (and yes, I'm speaking for myself. ) :ylol2:

My doc has my surgery scheduled for first thing Wednesday morning. Be prepared to break me out also if I have to stay more than a few hours. The plan at this point is out patient surgery though. Yay!

Yeah im with u on the cheap drunk bit hun. Oh we can add u to the escape plan if need be my love. Im sure we wont need to tho. I'm happy to cook for all and sundry. Sorry for being quiet, I'm not known for that. Happy to wear black. I can abseil peeps out the window and lower you all down if it's multi story. Single story we can open the window or door and climb or walk out. I'm great on belay.
 
I'm doing ok Mandy, no word from that second lot of tests as yet. So I've been working doing chores and packing.

Have just put a pan of pea and ham soup on (the stove)so can you bake the bread for dunking Kirsty ? Trysha,any special dietry requests ?

Kirsty, I'm sure glad you appeared again. It gets worrisome when people go awol. The guys are like spoiled children, they don't realize when they are worrying their mother, and come and go as they please. Today Kirst, do you have any clear soups or gelatines you can make for me? I'm afraid it's liquids and laxatives for me today. Just short of a colon prep for colonoscopy. Grrrr. :voodoo: Save me some of that bread, tho because Carol is right, it will be over soon, and then all of you can I'll have a little reprieve from me. Maybe. I tend to talk in my sleep at times.:ybiggrin:
 
The soups delish.if I do say so myself.Other than boasting about my culinary prowess I have nothing more to add.....except I'm winning and since we put the clocks back at the week-end,it's dark tonight at 5-15pm.

I can't wait to see Carol in action. Mandy, keep us up to date. Kirsty and Carol, the soup is delicious, and I'm not even hungry.

It's a traditional Northern England soup.
Root veg,onion,split peas and cubed raw ham.cooked gently for 2-3 hrs,then blended.Serve with suet dumpling or crusty bread.
 
Sounds fabulous. Until you blend it. I don't know why but it's probably about the texture after its blended. It's a family favorite and they don't get me either.
 
I'm not fussy on veg,so if I blend it I can't see it, so it's not there.

Hi, honeys, I'm home! I could feel all your well wishes and prayers from here, I kid you not (or is it the drugs? Hehe.) They released me early for good behavior (but I didn't tell them everything. )
Omega, so nice to see you back! We missed you. Now you can help with "the great escape" to help Trysha get home. We might have to chain you to someone so you don't disappear on us again.
I told my doc in the OR (I really did:ylol2:) not to remove my sense of humor or imagination. It appears they are still intact. The only bad news is I had more adhesions than anticipated from prior surgeries so will be sore for awhile. The good news, I'm on drugs right now so not feeling it too bad at the moment. Best news, growth is not cancer. YAY! !
I think it's time to free Trysha. Trysha, dear, I agree, there's no place like home. Get better SOON!

P.S. Carol, in my cooking days, I used to make split pea and ham soup too. I really like it (though Doug not exactly fond of it. )
Doug is expanding his cooking skills these days, bought a diabetic cookbook, and made "diabetic lasagna" last night, broke it down into two servings portions, and froze them for when we might want them. He has really been doing well at exercising too. His glucose numbers are really going down, and reflect his hard work. I'm proud of the guy!

Tomorrow the recreation therapist has organized a Halloween hunt....it seems some of the staff will be dressing up for this half hour event
I don't really care for Halloween and ghastly figures....bit scary
Just can't wait to get out of here...where is everybody......

I agree with your opinion on Halloween, Trysha.
 
I love to watch the younger kiddos enjoying Halloween but it doesn't bother me if I don't participate in the festivities.

I also agree on the most ghastly aspects of Halloween Trysha and Ron, but a little Tom foolery doesn't bother me, if not overdone. I don't like things that really frighten or are oroverly gruesome though. On the other hand, and even more, like Shanen, I enjoy watching the kiddos, especially when they come trick or treating like a little princess or fairies, pirates, ball players, etc. I have fond memories of my "Casper the Friendly Ghost" costume as a kid.

I'm trying to be a good patient too and have been getting up moving as per doctor's instructions (don't want any more of those blood clots ~~shudder~~), but also not doing too much. I'm still quite sore, but lucky that I have a high pain tolerance.
Hope all of you are as well as you can be. Loves and Huggins to all that want them.

I know you'll all find this hard to believe :lol: but in real life I'm a proper misery guts......I hate Halloween,Guy Fawkes,Christmas (it's just another day to us,Sunday, probably because the shops are closed) ( and there's no newspapers,and the TV is "festive"rubbish) I hate public holidays,crowds of people,screeching kids,noise,litter and bad manners........there's more,but you get the picture.On Halloween,I close the blinds and watch TV in the dark and ignore the beggars at the door.Same with carol singersThey sing a couple of lines,badly,then put their hand out for reimbursement.....:eek2: cheeky b**gars...:ybatty::ybatty::ybatty:


But I LIKE WINNING :rof:
 
My philosophy for Halloween is that I will answer the door and hand out candy until it is completely dark. After dark falls the parents are taking their kids home for dinner, baths etc. Or they should be. If they are knocking on my door after that they don't need parents as a chaperone and in my opinion they are then too old to trick or treat and are getting no candy from me.

Halloween is not big over here. Guy Fawkes is much more popular. As a kid I had to choose which one to celebrate. I only chose Halloween once. I do enjoy watching fireworks. These days I watch big displays, none of the back yard stuff.
 
We have an awful lot of fireworks around here,and all over the country really.
The trouble is that nowadays the fireworks start at Halloween and go on until at least a week after Nov. 5th.There's an organised show about half a mile away from 7 'til 10pm.and the noise is horrendous.Like a war zone.
In the last few years they're going off at birthdays and weddings too.As my dogs got older they were absolutely traumatised.Sedation was useless because of the length and unexpected "celebrations"......Moan over for now.

i know it can be a nightmare the old gas one mate. who would have thought how painful that can be 😔 . The things we have to deal with 😕 x
 
Ha ha ha ha! "Gas X" is the brand of a med meant to help with gas and bloating here in the US. And I had to look up Guy Fawkes day, never heard of it before this forum. Conversations get interesting here. And i could use some of that Gas X right now, the pressure is a little hard on the surgery site. Come to think of it, a lot of hot air balloons could be filled from the people here. Lots of love and may all your days be gas free to all.

I forgot to say, Carol, some people in the US accuse Utah of being a boring place because some shops are closed on Sunday, about 1% of them, (and we are a little drier than most states because of the predominant religion), but newspapers are available at news stands and delivered to subscribers every single day of the year.

Wet morning here,the weather I mean...Yesterday I went to the new café in the park over the road,for tea and scones and we watched grey squirrels playing.They are not native to Britain and our red squirrels are suffering because the greys are big bullies.They ask the public to report grey sightings so they can be illiminated.No chance !!! What is it with the human race that they want to murder everything and each other ?

Lovely weather here, summers finally on the way, resting up today so I can go flying tomorrow , I am getting withdrawals as I haven't been able to go for a month. Warbird day tomorrow and the forecast is great. I have some helpers lined up as I still can't bend in the middle. I asked the surgeon why he made such a large cut and he said he dropped his watch inside me and had to go looking for it. I think I can still feel it inside me, at least he has a sense of humour. Well it must be time for my win.

Abdominal incisions cut you in half I find....makes it difficult to walk
I am still waiting for the rescue gang to arrive...the days and nights are getting longer
Hospital staffs are not what they used to be.....so short of staff but too many echelons of administrators.....
Amazing that you are able to do so much in a relatively short time span
I could have done better without the infections....thems the breaks
