Hello all, hope everyone is having a relaxing and wonderful weekend. Brownies for dessert after lunch at Carols sounds really good! I'll be right there. Well maybe not right there and if I start now lunch may be really cold and really old and the brownies will probably be all gone or burnt black by the time I get there ohhhhh say sometime next week? So I guess I'll have to cook here dammit! No dessert though - too lazy for that today was poke day and am having difficulty staying awake - maybe I'll order in lasagne anyone?

A rise and shine win..man,it's dark when I get up now.I'm on the SCD,but I can bring something tasty to the next party.

SandtUte-the U. Maine Black Bears got stomped by BC yesterday at BC.It was rough to listen to on the radio.

It's been a nice day.We had a tramp through the woods (at Alfies pace, well we BLAME him, he's getting on bless him) then a pic-nic of leftover roast beef.A lot cooler today but no complaints.Just had a quick read of the sunday papers and thought I would take the win,to make a good day perfect.

Don't you DARE spoil it for me) next posters a stinker !!!

I'll take that challenge. At work catching up before I have to leave again. And winning...

Have a cuppa and calm down Carol.Gonna give yourself indigestion getting all worked up.A rainy night win!!

I think there are a lot of stinkers on this forum. :) :) :) I'll claim the win now. The picnic sounded lovely. Just had breakfast for dinner, scrambled eggs, toast and jam, small amt of bacon, tall glass of milk. Tasted good. Thanks Doug x

It's been raining here most of the day, but that felt good too.

My win now, the stairs and I had a near miss. I just caught myself on the handrail as my foot got caught up in my trousers. I'm so pleased I didn't tumble as hubs is away for the night.

Overslept. Not by too much, but we couldn't enjoy our cuppa tea in bed and a chat to put the world to rights. Then I dissolved my pain meds in my apple juice (accidentally) THEN I dropped a clean towel in Alfs water bowl, submerged my rubber gloves in the washing up bowl and broke a plate.
So I'm just going to sit here quietly in my straight jacket for the rest of the day.Winning.

My wife bought me a t-shirt that says 'some days it isn't worth chewing through the restraints'.It is well worn...winning!

Hahaha good one !!! I think one of the most important things to get you through the day,is a sense of humour. But I find if I laugh too loud or too often I get sideways looks from folk.Especially when I'm shopping alone in the supermarket.

winning

I just read your above posts to Doug while chatting in bed before we get up for the day. All is right with the world.

Winning.

For me it's fresh white bread buttered with lots of grilled bacon in it :). Hubs likes to add HP sauce to his one.

I've got to go to doc today to sort out my back after yesterday's near miss. I must keep my guardian angels real busy

Hi Grumpy! I'm lurking, off and on, as usual. Just wanted to say hope your day is great too. If you see this before too long, you can take the win back as I'll be gone for a little while most likely. If not, I'll keep the win until whenever.

Feeling fine, just tired still - slept most of Saturday and Sunday and could happily be sleeping today, unfortunately I don't think my boss would pay me to sleep at work - mind you she is a pretty phenomenal person and just might. I will steal the win for a few and then you can have it back. I have to go get my car from the garage - just getting it ready for my trip to Oregon on October 3rd (yay!!!!!) I sooooooooooo need a holiday. :eek:utahere:

I've done it a few times now since I had my skiing accident when I was 16. I just get hotties, pain meds and gentle back exercises till I get well.

My best mate is in Vancouver at the moment. They were off to whistler today. I'm looking forward to seeing photos :)

Most likely just a migraine (but still have :voodoo:) mimicking small stroke symptoms. Head CT scan was fine, having an MRI and some heart and carotid artery tests in morning. Well, I guess that's today now. Also having a physical therapy assessment since I'm a little wobbly still. If all is well, I'll be sent home. Prednisone 2:00 win. Watching (on low volume because of headache) a documentary about Lincoln and the civil war here in the U.S.

Hey Sandy I'm still here :). Great to hear from you - big hugs- for the 2:00 pred wide awake. Doc did neurological check on my reflexes when I told him about the close call with the stairs. My hot water bottle and I are great friends at the moment. Take care xxx

You should all come and stay with me and I'll look after you.

What a pickle you're all in !!! Honestly, you're not safe to be left on your own.

You'll all have to get better for the Christmas party, but I think we better give "musical chairs" a miss.

Perhaps this feel good story will help everyone feel a bit better...while I was at work Sunday,a co-worker and her partner came over and visited with my wife.I had a bulkhead full of fire wood in the cellar needing to be stacked.I'm so tired after work and on my days off,it's a slow process for me to stack it.Well, they stacked all the wood for me!! How nice of them!!!

They didn't do as good a job as me,but,...not too bad.

I still have a lot of wood to get in and stack, but not as much as I did! It was so nice of them to help.Today is a day off and the sun is shining, lets see if I can fill the bulkhead again.

Every time that wheel go round, bound to cover just a little more ground.A little bit harder, just a little bit more,a little bit further than you gone before...good thoughts to all! Winning.

It looks like we're all moving to England:uk_flag::uk_flag::uk_flag:

I can bring a Brown Betty tea pot.Didn't Carol say something about gnawing on cupboard hinges a while ago? I'm fairly handy,I could replace them while we are there. :D

Love the team effort! Just an FYI...berry flavored barium does NOT taste like the milkshake they said it would. :frown:

Your post made me smile Dave. With all the horror going on in the world today it's easy to forget that most people around us are good and kind.

But don't you be making yourself sick by doing to much.

I'll be over with the gang to help when I guilt trip a few crohnies. hahaha

A getting off the Forum and making supper win.H,m,m,m,my wife is right handed and she broke her left wrist. She can manage, right? Don't want to delay her healing, you know.I'm considerate like that.

So very nice of you Dave. Winning.

Hey Carol are you and Alfie going to Ryder cup, I think there would be a few balls for him to chase :)

It isn't the size that matters Dave, it's how you use it.

I don't want you to get the wrong idea but, everytime I enter the bathroom I think of you. That's because I have a little duck that looks just like you, sitting on the soap dish in the shower.:quack::quack::quack:

I might have to consider turning his cute face to the wall.:lol2:

Robert you should be up there too, sure will be a lot of cigar smokers there

True - they will probably try to stop smoking out on the golf course soon.

'Would you mind putting out that cigar!'

'Certainly ......... Any other last requests?'

We've just had a walk along the river and watched the passenger ferry (Liner) leaving for Holland. The sea is calm so they'll have a good crossing. I expect more than half of them will be drinking all night so they'll not care either way.Personally,I'd be sitting close to the lifeboats with a lifejacket on and a flare in each hand (and a bottle of brandy to keep out the chill) Winning

I'm home from the hospital, discharged with diagnoses of "transient cerebral ischemia" whatever that means (but the good word in there is "transient."). Saw on Facebook that my friend went unconscious at about the same time I thought I might have been having a stroke. She's been in a care facility after having a brain bleed she miraculously survived a month or two ago ago. She was supposed to have brain surgery yesterday because bleeding on the brain again it looked like. I hope she is okay.

I'll keep you company by the lifeboats and brandy! :)

Avo win here. Doug, how's Sandy getting on?

She is home. The docs decided it was an Atypical Migraine, which mimics stroke symptoms. She had a MRI of the brain, CT Scan, ultra sound of the neck to check blood flow, and cardiac tests. Sandy is doing better but still has migraine hangover today.

She also is on a blood thinner for her blood clots. Actually the blood thinner will help prevent future clots. The clots in the lung will be absorbed.

Sandy will be fine after some healing time

Glad to here she is home. You've both probably had a long couple days and need the comforts of home to rest.
Winning.

Had a nice long nap, so now to get on with the business of winning. The most important thing. Last one to post wins, and I'll be around here a lot in the next few weeks, winning. And I'll win in the end. Nya nya nya.
Winning! :rof: :rof: :rof:

Just clarifying, docs (or lack thereof, only saw a PA yesterday) weren't really sure if TIA or "atypical migraine." Neither one fit entirely. (And nothing is typical when it comes to my health.) After googling "atypical migraine" and considering my history, I'm questioning a little more even, tho. But still think it fits most because of other reasons (ie, the fact I had a headache at all, and not just weakness, confusion, etc. with type of stroke suspected). The good news is that it (mostly) seems to be temporary, and I'm going to go off, accept, what they say. I'm definitely not the expert.
I had a good nap, Doug looks like he could use a glass of something.
Winning!

Me too, Kirst. My middle of the night prednisone win. (But I did sleep a lot of the day, too.)
Thanks y'all for your support to the non IBDer, but IBDers wife.

I think I need to run to the bathroom now. (TMI?)

Never TMI here. You and I are good for midnight wins. I got Salt Lake on my world clock it's nearly 2 am.

Well, 3:00 by the time I read this. I started facebook chatting with my neighbor who lives across the street. I used to have your time on my world clock, but haven't reset it since I had to reset my phone. What time is it there? A little after 9:00 pm?

TMI? Now you are being silly. :ylol2: Glad you are back...Winning!

I wish that I was wealthy
Instead of being good looking
Then I would win all day long
While the servants did the cooking.-------- and everything else !!!

Okay, I know I've been a little quiet lately, perhaps a little non verbal but really guys I've had the win for 3 hours - did I not get the memo - is everyone on a picnic at the ocean? Sighhhhhhhh, still winning

I'm here, wishing I was at the ocean rather than work. After a week at Mayo Clinic I have more then enough to do on my desk. Pathethic little work fairies skipped out me while I was gone. So I'll settle for taking the win from you Grumpy.

Sigh is right. ~ sigh~~ sigh~~ sigh~~I wish picnic at ocean. Ocean too far from here, I've never even seen it with Doug (he's seen it, I've seen it, just not together. His last time was before we were married. Sooo want to go with him within a year or two at latest.) Picnic is planned to visit the fall leaves in the mountains after doc visit tomorrow. Looking forward to that! Been fighting SSI today who notified us last fall that they were taking away my benefits, benefits were officially cut off in March I think, been fighting an appeal ever since. (They decided out of the blue, years after I told them I didn't have MS, just stroke damage, patch on heart for atrial septal defect, epilepsy and other things, that I didn't qualify as disabled any more. They said GERD and IBS didn't count. Duh!) The doc at the hospital asked if worse came to worse would I want CPR, (just a question they have to ask, I was told, but never asked that before) I said yes, for Doug. Right now I'm pretty depressed tho, tired of sick and if I'm going to get better, I want to get better, and I will fight for it. But don't insult my integrity about whether I am sick or not. Sorry, had to vent.

My mother always told me I had a big mouth (probably because we weren't allowed to voice our opinions at home.)

It's safe to come back out now, folks, I'm done complaining. Just one of those days. I'll go put myself in time out so y'all can have fun here, that is what it should be, I know. Sheriff Bob, caught any bad guys lately? Quit hiding! You too bunny and ducky. Hi Trev! You don't say much anymore.

Where's the Christmas party again this year?
